Hi! If you want to do a randomizer nuzlocke, there's just a few simple steps you need to do.
A great subreddit to start is /r/pokemonROMhacks.
Here's a list of the randomizers that are available.
DS emulators are kinda laggy and crash more than gamebody ones, but they work.
For Generation 1,2, or 3, I would go with the Visual Boy Advance emulator. After that, you need to download your game ROM. You'll have to google those, because I'm not allowed to link it. Then, you can just hop on to /r/pokemonROMhacks for links to the randomizers. You can also look on the sidebar for the step by step on how to patch and play your game.
Good luck and happy nuzlocking!
Okay, everyone, I'll be uploading a Pokédex soon, (hopefully) because some of these Pokémon have odd evolution lines that one may or may not want to know about beforehand.
Also, I just counted them, and as it turns out, 200 was my goal, I only got to implement 133 Pokémon in the game - just to correct that one.
EDIT: Here is a sort of Pokédex. I'll make a more detailed one later, including egg groups, abilities and whatever else people would like me to include.
EDIT 2: If you want the hack, PM me, it's much easier for me to keep track of than keeping track of all these comments - and woah, thanks everyone, wasn't expecting this much love when I posted this!
I asked what the next type should be and I'm okay with calling it this early because Ice is far in the lead and I think it will be a nice run. So what starter should I use? You decide!
Why do all these Pokémon happen to start with S?
So, yeah, this is my new run, hope you Guys enjoy it and here is a link to the hack: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9t4uaav0idgtu98/Cold%20Crystal%20Version.zip I hope I am allowed to link it like that, but all credir goes to derpynerd who did it on his own, and very well done so in my opinion ^^
thank you very much! i also made it into a photoshop file so you can easily edit the text. here it is if anyone needs it.

Here's a bunch of other resources, icluding images, templates, and sprites.

If it's what I think you mean, they're not emulators, they're templates to keep track of the nuzlocke.
the two most popular are this android app Route Chart
and this online site
Download the Universal Randomizer, heres a link And get a rom of whatever. Run the universal randomizer and open the rom. It will give you a ton of options. I have randomized trainer names, which IMO is amazing. Just ask that youngster called "Fisher Mike".
Unfortunately not. You need an emulator and a rom, and a pc or smart device. I can link sites I use for PC that I’ve been using these for years and are safe if you reconsider:
https://vimm.net (for your emulators, start with GBA and NDS ones. They’re easy on your computer)
https://cdromance.com (for your roms. All you gotta do is search for them)
I was curious too and ended up figuring it out.
For Emerald, you use this spanish application called Enciclopedia Pokemon (look hereabouts), and need to open up the .sav file in it. You can only view your party pokemon and one box, so get everything you would want to migrate into either one. Everything is set up in this clickable interface, so you can see all the box and party pokemon (so when I did it I moved all my eggs into the first box).
Then, double click on the egg to bring up the information about it (be warned that it shows what's in the egg), and save it as a .pkm file. I recommend doing this to each egg before going to the next part as it saves time.
After you have a whole host of .pkm files, open up a .sav for a new game (or any game). Empty out the first box, and start clicking on the empty spaces. It'll pop up boxes showing Bulbasaurs and asking if you want to add the Bulbasaur to that box spot, but you can open up the .pkm file here. Once you open the file, you can accept it and it will be saved to that spot in the box. After you're all done moving the eggs back in, just resave the .sav file.
If you have any questions about clarifications I'm more than happy to help. It's in Spanish so it's a pain but so long as you make a backup beforehand with all your eggs you should feel pretty safe messing around with it.
Here's a .sav file with the 40 eggs I bred for leapin_23 in it if you're interested in playing it!
Just about the only thing I haven't edited is the pokédex order and footprints :) I've edited sprites, icons, movesets, stats, typings, abilities, evolution lines and so on. But like I've stated before, it's a messy and unfinished piece of work, but sure, of course you can try it out :)
Here is a link to an IPS patch.
Found it, Thanks! Would not have expected there to be an app. It's Route Chart - Nuzlocke Tracker (Free Version) in case anyone else comes looking. Seems to be a laid, ad-free version also, and tbh I'm thinking I might have to start my fire red run over just to use this properly lol
I use this app to keep track. (Although I haven't used it with Gen 7 yet) When in doubt I will just catch the pokemon and if the caught location is the same as another pokemon I will release it.
this is the exact projector i bought a year ago: projector. it’s not super fancy by any means, but it does the job just fine as you can tell by the picture
I got bored this morning and didnt know what to draw do here's some bad pictures of the Locke in general or from last night -w-;;

I dont know about any tools that would "import a save file", but I have a neat little app that is perfect because I play on my phone. Found out about it here. It's in the Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pseudocode.nuzlockechart
You cant import, so you have to update it yourself. But it is really neat and has some extea features when you buy the full version. I did because the whole thing is allegedly created by one guy and I just like to support people and software like that.
Yes interested in a good tracking apps. There is already stiff competition in this market:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.netlify.nuzlocke.twa
How do you think you will handle wonderlockes and other speciality runs in later editions?
A .rar file is like a .zip file, you need a program to uncompress it.
I did a couple searches for you for free programs:
Windows: Peazip
Mac: RAR Expander
Linux: I'm guessing you're not using linux ;) But just in case: For *buntu, "sudo apt-get install rar", for other distros you'll have to search your repositories.
Yeah I have always transferred them up to newer games, and now Pokemon Bank. I have some that came all the way up from Sapphire through PalPark and TransferLab to get to Bank.
EDIT: I also keep a little digital hall of fame. I used to do it on the official nuzlocke forums but I stoppped frequenting those and am now pretty regularly on BGG so I moved it to there.
I hacked it using this video: https://youtu.be/gAR2SAuehW4
Then you need to get Homebrew Browser which is another video of his, install mGBA with it, and then use the same method the video uses to transfer files from computer to vita and move pokemon roms over. I used this site to get the roms: https://cdromance.com/nds-roms/download-all-pokemon-games-roms/. Then you open mGBA and open the roms from wherever you put them in the directory.
Also, not sure if you knew, but the EXP system was redone in Gen V. In summary, lower units get a larger amount of EXP from higher units (if that makes any sense).
> Experience System
Another notable new change is the revamped experience system; if a Pokemon beats an opponent that is of a higher level than it, the experience gained is increased. If a Pokemon beats an opponent that is of a lower level than it, the experience gained is lowered. The amount is raised or lowered respectively depending on the distance between levels (ie a Level 48 Pokemon defeating a Level 58 Pokemon will earn more experience than a Level 51 Pokemon defeating a Level 58 Pokemon, then a Level 38 Pokemon will learn even more etc. The reverse applies for defeating weaker enemies.)
In addition, Pokemon are now able to have a base EXP (a hidden value that is used in the EXP formula for how much you receive when you beat a particular Pokemon) of over 255; while no pre Generation V Pokemon have had this value changed, there are several Generation V Pokemon with base EXP values exceeding 255. The most notable is Audino, a "rare" Pokemon that has an absolutely gigantic 390 base EXP. Defeating one will give you a ton of experience. In comparison, the Chansey line and Arceus gave the most EXP prior to Generation V, with a base EXP of 255.
As such, this system makes it much easier to raise lower levelled Pokemon, especially utilizing the Elite Four very late in the game as they reach very high levels.
A table to summarize:
YP/OP Lower Level Same Level Higher Level Lower Level - - Increased EXP Same Level - Unchanged EXP - Higher Level Reduced EXP - - YP = Your Pokemon, going down and OP = Opponent Pokemon, going across

I really should have done a references bit at the end to credit people's pics...
I can trace it to here but it's gets Japanese-y so you'll have to dig deeper if you want to find out more!
Most of the images I use are ripped from spriters-resource.com, the rest are edited or created using paint.net which is sort of a simplified photoshop and it's free.
I then insert the images and write the text in Tumblr's rich text editor. When everything is in I convert it to html and make adjustments in notepad. For example Tumblr likes to force images to be on their own line and adjust their size which is a real pain for my speech portraits, the only way I found to make it line up properly is to remove the paragraph breaks in the html.

Ah, shit. I actually don't even have the IPS, someone over at [/r/PokemonROMhacks](/r/PokemonROMhacks) made the patch for me. I'll figure it out and link to the IPS later today.
EDIT: Later today is now. Here!
For the curious: Pokemon 3D is an Indie first-person remake of Pokemon Gold/Silver. It is currently in early beta, but still quite a lot of fun.

If I recall correctly, it forces you to watch an ad when you load a save state. So if you dont use save states, u dont have to watch ads. Other than that, it has a fast forward and a nice button layout.
For DS games, I spent a few bucks for https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsemu.drastic
It is Route Chart for android.
