It's not even that it slipped through playtesting. They playtested it, Ben showed concern about it being batshit insane, and they released it anyway.
In Magic: the Gathering, packs have a slot for a tip/token card.
For example, for the set M11 (the first time the slime was released) all the tokens are shown here.
You can use a token if you wish, but at more casual events even dice or coins are used to represent the token
Absolutely. Apart from twitch/youtube revenue, they also have setup a patreon which makes them 1000$ a month right now,
The only reason I was made aware of ADWCTA was because Kripp used HearthArena and I wanted to see the guys who made that website stream. It is not like they did not profit at all from this collaboration. And the programmer makes zero from their new found celebrity status.
This works both ways.
Edit: Just to clarify this post was written when everyone on the sub seemed to be wholeheartedly on ADWCTA's side, so I was presenting the other side of the argument for balance at the time.
Now, that the pendulum has shifted to the middle, I feel a bit guilty joining in burying these two fine gentlemen. ADWCTA/Merps are incredibly intelligent, offer truly unique services, and they have played a crucial role in the success of HearthArena. ADWCTA has a history of obsessive analytical gaming and used to write guides for Civ 5 before. It would not be easy to replace them at all.
True. It is no exaggeration that other battlepasses that cost 10 give 50 times more stuff.
https://www.ea.com/games/apex-legends/battle-pass
That's way over 100 cosmetic items. And you get enough currency to buy the next one. So you really only need to pay 10 once.
I feel like everyone is taking that quote way too literally. It was part of ~~a video~~ an article where he sounded like he was half joking. It's way more plausible that he did say that card seems broken or whatever, and the team talked him out of it, and he was just exaggerating to hype the card and make a more interesting story, rather than the game director having "no control".
Edit: It was an article, not a video: https://kotaku.com/hearthstone-director-reveals-the-craziest-card-weve-eve-1825114809
Yes, indeed. After spending some time watching HS streams there are some aspects that most "pros" share.
Most HS streamers are basically living biases. Or at least pretend to be on stream? (More salt -> more fun to watch, I guess)
I would recommend "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman to most of them :D
https://www.twitch.tv/radu_hs/v/60510937?t=141m20s - it was hilarious, the moment of realization is at 2:23:00
EDIT: For the people that wonder why he haven't played from ipad, you can't spectate/play with other players that have different patches. We figured this out, after Rdu was doing a new account to spectate his games from it - so the next hour we spent on playing the tutorial SeemsGood . And in the end, it doesn't even matteeer.
Welp. According this interview from /u/bbrode himself, playtesters found this already, and they let it through.
https://kotaku.com/hearthstone-director-reveals-the-craziest-card-weve-eve-1825114809
This could be true, but there are other possible reasons for the red crystals. A pack rat means someone who likes to collect and hoard things. Also, there is an actual pack rat animal that is "noted for its habit of collecting bright, shiny objects" (source: http://www.encyclopedia.com/plants-and-animals/animals/vertebrate-zoology/pack-rat).
Seriously, how does Hearthstone consistently have the worst patch notes? Just take a look at Overwatch o Heroes of the Storm, which have so much detail in their patch notes. HotS even rewrites their patch notes when they change other things between the PTR and live.
Meanwhile Hearthstone patch notes consistently don't put crucial information, or don't explain why changes were made.
Edit: I mean, just LOOK at today's HotS patch notes. https://heroesofthestorm.com/en-us/blog/21791354/heroes-of-the-storm-patch-notes-june-6-2018-2018-6-6/
There's a quick navigation bar, developer comments, and a list of actual bug fixes.
its funny because when you go into play mode, you actually have 18 decks to chose from because you actually have 2 pages of deck slots and can switch over to the page that has the started deck for each class, so literally more than 9 deck slots and multiple pages for decks is already in the game.
EDIT: https://gyazo.com/0a4edea445303272c1ce0c49a8c43229
Gif showing what im talking about. you can see that when you go in to play a game, you already are presented with a screen were you flip through pages of decks to choose from. having extra pages for extra deck slots is literally already in the game, and blizzard cannot in good faith tell us any other reason for why they dont let us use a feature that is already in the game other than "screw you we dont want to". its not technologically impossible, its not confusing, both of those arguments are nullified when you realize that the system is already in the game proving the technology is there, and that it isnt too confusing because they have left this feature in since day 1 and clearly they dont find it to be too confusing to be in the game since they chose to leave it in the game.
This is 100% the expansion, look here.

While this stream is fun and all, it's nothing compared to the conversation between Trump, Amaz and Mitch Jones and the ensuing drama that occurred before this. The collective rustling of Mitch Jones' chat is excellent.
It started when Mira called Mitch from the Archon house and left mid-call.

Here is what is happening.
As most of you know Blizzard is going to be launching a new expansion for WoW next week (Hype). This is a critical time for blizzard that may make or break WoW forever.
Now a bunch of 'hacker' groups have threatened blizzard with DDoS attackes for a while, pretty much blackmail, give us lots of money or we will ruin your login server. This is what happened 2 years ago with WoD; the game had 5 hour queues for weeks.
This tactic doesn't really work well most of the time for a lot of reasons.
1) Blizzard really do have some of the best in the business and can mitigate some of the issues IF they have server space to deal with it. (IE there are not suddenly 5 million more people playing WoW than this time last month + a bunch more people playing Karazan on HS)
2) Taking down blizzard's servers would not be a 'big' deal if it were just another week, but Blizz has A LOT riding on the next few weeks.
They are specifically going after login functionality because it is both easy to attack AND devastating to the company's users. It bottlenecks every player and causes huge latency elsewhere. Blizzard have everything riding on battle-net login and bringing down one login server cripples 6 major games.
Here is a brief (and a little dated) overview of how DDoS works
EDIT: I wanna quickly mention that Blizz really can do very little to stop these attacks as long as you have a static feature as part of your web-service (Like a login) then you are very vaunerable to DDoS. Wanna help Blizzard? Make sure your system in not a zombie-slave to these guys by running 2 of the free great security tools that can be found here.
Well sure, but you can also Show them The Door if they want to leave, which I think Hearthstone has the potential for but doesn't really want to let happen.
Here is a link to the Infinity Elemental for those who want to see it.
I also found the list of cards for the mtg unstable card set here. Some of them are pretty interesting.

Just putting it out there. I dont have nothing to do with him, but if you want to support ChanMan use this website. He said in this stream that he quit his job so he could do Hearthstone as a profession. So spending literally a few cents every few weeks doenst hurt you much, but will help him to create this awesome content :)
Yep probably today. Just need to wait a bit. The app for Android has been updated 2 weeks ago whereas the app for iOS states that it has been updated today.
I am a bot. Back when Urza block standard was a thing, there was this land that gave you 1 mana per artifact you had on the table. Trouble is, there was also a shitton of 0-1-2 mana artifact that also generated mana AND drew cards. This was mixed with cards that drew you cards while RESETTING that land. It went like this:
Land, 3 artifacts, play card that draws card and untaps land. Play more artifacts. Play other card that untaps the land and draws. Eventually reach 60 mana, kill your opponent by making them draw their entire deck (which kills you in mtg).
The mirror match was an actual coinflip. There were moments where you didnt draw well, but 80% of the time you just won on turn 1. This led to combo winter, tournament attendence plummeted, a host of cards were banned, people lost their jobs and then they vowed NEVER to make such a broken deck again.
Then they printed Skullclamp a few years later.
The academy deck a few pages down is what im talking about.
That wiki is also not the definition of power creep that MTG uses.
https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/latest-developments/dealing-power-creep-2013-08-09
Interesting segment: > Because of the rule that you can only run four of a card in a deck, simply printing another version of the same card with a different name is clear power creep. If we printed Lightning Bolt with another name, then all of a sudden decks could run eight copies, and they would gain a tremendous amount, while printing a second Willow Elf wouldn't have nearly as much of an impact. By the same token, certain decks can get huge jumps in power by printing even slightly weaker versions of the same card; again, look at the Modern or Legacy burn decks, where another sorcery burn spell that does 3 damage could be considered power creep. The only way to actually prevent power creep would be to stop printing new cards altogether.
Pretty clear that while "strictly betters" can be a source of power creep, they aren't definitely power creep, in fact, strictly worse cards can also be a source of power creep.
Hope it is within the sub's regulation. If not please let me off with a warning...
Process takes about 5 to 15 minutes, depending on your tech skills and download times.
Step 1: android phone (or PC emulator works too but phone is fine) no need for root or what so ever.
Step 2: download the app fake gps from play store
Step 3: enable developer options (Settings > About phone > Software information > Build number. tap the "build number" a few times. You'll see what I mean once you tap it quickly a few times)
Step 4: enable fake locations in the developer options which is now available in the settings menu (and choose fake gps as application if needed)
Step 5: find a qualified tavern brawl on the tavern brawl website (I think the address is stated there or find the exact address with zip code using google)
Step 6: first check if Hearth Stone is closed down. Then use fake gps location to pick the found location (don't forget to press play)
Step 7: start hearth stone app. The tavern brawl icon activated in the HS menu after I turned on find nearby players.
Hope it helps. Typed this on my phone so bare with misspellings.
To the programmers defense, ADWCTA was a nobody before Heartharena became successful. He made himself the face of that website. ADWCTA's face comes up in the bubbles that tell you the reasoning behind the evaluations. The front page has multiple links to ADWCTA and Merps content, too. Free promotion, which possibly leads to successful patreonship.
And Heartharena is still a really well designed website. ADWCTA only ever talks about the algorithm, probably because only programmers realize the hours and hours that go into mindnumbing work that no one is going to see.
I always thought ADWCTA had programming background as he talks as if Heartharena is his project. Never heard there was a programmer until today. Merps and ADWCTA have their names everywhere.
For anybody interested, there is a Fan-server called Toontown Rewritten , having almost all the features of the original and being completly for free. They also want to continue the development where disney stopped!
None mobile link: http://www.ign.com/videos/2014/03/21/hearthstone-ios-gameplay-off-screen
This video was rather disappointing. They actually didn't show anything new. I would have liked to see how the touch screen handling works and how user-friendly it is but oh well...
Take a look at Dream Quest, made by Peter Whalen who now works for Blizzard, and Monster Slayers, my personal favorite in this genre.
Heh, way back when I was playing WoW in college one of my professors decided to pick it up. He joined our guild for a while and eventually published a paper about it (here, if you want to check it out). Definitely talk to the prof during office hours, though. He's probably got some good advice for you, and taking initiative will earn you brownie points.
All the "swap attack and health" cards are based on the card switching between human and worgen form. The thing is, the only effect of the swap is to exchange attack and health.
This version of Genn Greymane looks a lot like a prototype. If I had to guess, the devs originally envisioned him being the only swap minion in the set, with the swapping being the 'unique thing' that made him legendary. Then, somewhere along the way, things changed. Perhaps they decided it was too confusing to have multiple keywords; there's nothing on Genn's card text to indicate that he gains Charge or Taunt, or what his stats change to, which makes it rather awkward to grok. Or maybe they decided that they wanted more human/worgen transformations, and then they had to come up with something else to make Genn feel unique and legendary.
If anyone from Blizzard reads this: these kinds of stories of card history are awesome! One cool thing Magic does is their Making Magic articles, where they talk about some of the cards in the latest set and how they changed through R&D. I know that I'd enjoy seeing something similar for Hearthstone!
Its dramatic irony. The robot works diligently to report the content of the article, unaware that the article calls for the end of botting. We, as a third party, can appreciate the full dramatic irony.
It's worth noting that Hearthstone is coded in Unity. I'm guessing that has something to do with it.
I'm starting to believe that they really don't know how to add things like more than 9 deck slots, at least not without redesigning the whole thing.
A PSA for US (or apparently some other countries)-based* Android users: Google has an app where you can answer opinion surveys and receive Play Store credit. It's a only like a dollar at a time, but this credit can be used to purchase packs.
I suppose I can post my final results in this thread. I ended up doing better than average. 2800 packs total. 21 golden legendaries 4 of which were duplicates. I'll post the screenshots. The "new" cards would be new golden cards obtained and you can get general legendary/epic/rare count from the DE screen.

Fun fact about Shield Slam!
Used exclusively by the Protection specialisation of the Warrior class on World of Warcraft, Shield slam has forever been associated with tanks. The tanks that absorb damage like a sponge to ensure that their allies are safe.
Shield Slam, then, is a tank Warrior's chief and highest form of damage. This, presumably, is why its damage is based on your armour levels.
Thematically, question to yourself: Why should a warrior, a master of weaponry, be forced to have one fewer weapon? Indeed, as the quote says: "What is a better weapon? The sharp one your enemies expect, or the blunt one they ignore?" - The Art of Warrior, Chapter 9
To a Warrior, anything is a weapon. Their fists, their feet, their sword and shield. No Warrior is ever defenceless.
The best thing you can do is record one of your games. If that's foreign to you, I recommend getting started with OBS, Open Broadcaster Software. It's easy to download and very simple to use - the only thing you really need to do to set it up is set a hotkey for start and end video, and maybe adjust the bitrate to a lower value if it takes forever for you to upload youtube videos.
Play arena, record one of your games, record your draft even, and let people scrutinize the whole thing. The most likely problem is that one (or more) of these statements:
> I understand how to draft
> I understand importance of curve
> I understand which cards are strong and why
> I understand mana efficiency in game
> I understand trading efficiently
> I understand the important of tempo and board control
...is simply wrong. We can't really know which one, or why, without seeing you make decisions.
There was also a mistake in the Jeopardy game. It was $800 in the 6 letter castings category. Clue was "This will add 2 cards into your hand, and sometimes even 2 Tail Swipes." The correct response was Burgle, except Burgle gives you Coins when used against Ragnaros (source). You can only get Tail Swipes from Nefarian.
You generally improvise. There are matching tokens
https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/arcana/magic-2011-tokens-2010-07-01
but you aren't guaranteed to get them in the same pack, and you can get at most 1 token per pack (or a useless ad card).
This was not hate it was $$$. Even if it was a hate draft he would have been better with a burst lightning. Their is 8 players you are much more likely to not verse that opponent so it does not matter. Even if you do verse they would still need to draw and cast it.
https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/beyond-basics/dont-hate-draft-2016-07-28
> “I can still win the tournament without that Burst Lightning, let’s get the cake AND eat it.”
>as my initial reason to take it was to get money.
This is what he said in his article.
If you saw the clip it was clear money. He sat their stunned on opening. Did not even look at the rest of the pack just stared at it for a bit. He also checked the back to see what condition it was in mid draft. Appraising cards value is a money draft thing. He paused to look at it as well several times. To top it off he signalled to the camera this was the right pick then put it back and put the goyf in.
The issue was a professional player reduced their odds of winning for money.
Tip for people from eu: You can stream through VLC, and record the whole stream, then watch it when you wake up.
Install VLC
Install Livestreamer
Open the "Run" process.
Write "livestreamer twitch.tv/esl_hearthstone best" (this will open up the stream in VLC.
Press the record button in the interface(if you dont see it, then press "View->advanced controls") This will record the stream into your documents folder, and you can watch it later anytime you want.
NOTE: Remember to stop the record by pressing the record button again!

for the lazy the date/time of the Hearthstone panel is friday at 10:30 pm CET. universal countdown
Just link to it directly, instead of a blog that links to it.
Yeah, it's been a requested feature forever, but it's even been announced as Coming Soon™ by Blizzard themselves. I think this is the original announcement, dated 20 September 2012. Well, I guess five years is better than never.
I can't remember if it was ever discussed as to what happened with this before now. I know Jeff Kaplan from the Overwatch team answered a question about it awhile ago saying that they couldn't implement Appear Offline specifically in Overwatch until it was a feature in Battle.net as a whole due to how the system works. I wonder if they encountered some kind of issue with how it worked between each game and had to rework it or put it on the shelf for something else?
Seems odd they'd announce it before it was essentially ready to go, but then again this is five years ago. Ben Brode (or was it Mike Donais?) mentioned they don't announce changes or patches or expansion release dates until very late in case something goes wrong that causes a delay. I don't disagree with this method considering the public reaction whenever there's a delay of just a couple of hours past an expected release time.
> The fact that they're not giving away Medivh with the movie
It's an addon! Here's a link to it
It adds a ton... and I mean A TON of options for you to customize the site with and I honestly can't use reddit without it.
Here's my settings. Just in case you don't want to go over 5 pages of options. See if they suit you. They are for chrome, I don't know if they work with the other versions. Just import them into RES when you install it.
Hope I helped.
Off the top of my head, non-fiction:
"Convict Conditioning" by Paul Wade or "Starting Strength" by Mark Rippetoe for fitness. Depends on whether you prefer calisthenics or lifting.
"How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie. Teaches essential social skills.
"Winning" by Jack Welsh. Written by the former CEO of GE, it explores the mindset of what it takes to get to the top.
"The Wealth of Nations" by Adam Smith. It addresses the free market.
"The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene. More or less what it says on the cover.
"The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey.
"Getting Things Done" by David Allen. A book on effective planning and time management.
For fiction, I mostly read for entertainment. Here are some of the books that stuck with me:
"Altered Carbon" by Richard Morgan. A cyberpunk novel that explores the concept of life and soul.
"The Dresden Files" by Jim Butcher. An Urban Fantasy series featuring a wizard detective in Chicago.
"The Stormlight Archive" series by Brandon Sanderson. Epic fantasy, pretty hard to summarize in one sentence.
The "Malazan" series by Steven Erikson. Dark epic fantasy. Just started it, but if I don't mention it, I feel like /u/Alhiniath will punch me :P
Link to the stream, guess that's when the fun begins
"I'd torch that (Shredder) for sure, right?Maybe I'm dumb" - Amnesiac
"This is not his face, you realize that, yea?" - Firebat

Will update with results.
Edit: I tried both Market Enabler for changing the country and Market Helper for changing phone ID which worked but it didn't help me install Hearthstone (google play store saying it's incompatible with this version). Maybe it will work for someone.
Technically the IEEE defines 5 types of rounding rules and which one you use depends very much on the use case, although .195% would round up to 0.2% on most of them. (But under one very commonly used, rounding to even, .185% would round to .18%, not .19%; this ends up being used in cases where many rounded readings over time could introduce a very, very large error if they were always rounded in the same direction on "ties"; like, for example, tracking fuel usage so far on your space shuttle.)
I've taken MalyRogue to Legend several times so it's definitely a legitimate deck.
Season 14 I climbed from Rank 5 to Legend with it, Season 15 from Rank 16 to Rank 5 before switching decks, and since then I played a different variation on the way to Legend in Season 16.
The thing is, it's quite similar to Oil Rogue, so it's really not that exciting as a long-time Rogue player. Compare the differences between Handlock and Zoo, Freeze, Grinder and Tempo Mage, Aggro and Mid-range Paladin... I identify strongly with /u/m0rkai 's feelings, Rogue is so stale at the moment. We use 2-3 GVG cards (Tinker's, Shredder + Barber), one Naxx card (Loatheb), everything else is from release. It's very frustrating to me as a deckbuilder.
When we write numbers, the digits to the left are worth more than digits to the right. For example, in 111, the first 1 is worth one hundred (ten times ten), the second 1 is worth ten and the final 1 is just worth one.
Each digit is worth ten times the digit to the right. This is because our number system is base ten. We chose this primarily because we have ten fingers so it made sense for counting.
We don't have to work in base ten, though. For example, computers work in binary, which is base two. There are only two possible symbols, 0 and 1. Here are the first ten numbers in binary.
1
10
11
100
101
110
111
1000
1001
1010
Different purposes, can cause different bases to be useful, for example, hexadecimal (base sixteen) is often used for computing purposes because it is easily converted into binary, yet is a lot shorter to write down. It uses the digits 0-9 and A-F
My statement was about an arbitrary base denoted by the letter b. It turns out that any multiple of b-1 has the property that if you keep adding it's digits together, you eventually reach b-1.
For a hexadecimal example, take the number F*8A32 = 818EE
8+1+8+E+E = 2D
2+D = F
I don't know how to easily explain the proof as if to a five year old but I provide one on page 16 of the paper I wrote for my high school extended project: Here
In fact, I prove a slightly stronger case, depending on the base in use.
If you just want your free pack, you can use the Android Emulator Andy for free and download Hearthstone from the official Google Play store unmodded. It's very comparable with Bluestacks except Hearthstone doesn't recognize Bluestacks as a valid device (Screen size?).
Like all Android devices, you just need a Gmail account to log in to the Play store and you are good to go. Official website: http://www.andyroid.net/
Update 1: Maybe hold off, some people are having problems after installing and I'm not an expert on Android emulators to really troubleshoot with people
Update 2: Works on Andy for me. Installed Genymotion and it works too but there is a few more steps to set it up. I set the device as Google Nexus 7 2013 4.4.4. Follow these steps to add ARM then install from either Amazon or Google Play App store.
Here, you guys can start with this if you want, there's already some review bombing going on if you want to join in the fun.
>We also spoke with Hearthstone lead designer Eric Dodds, who stressed that the Android version of Hearthstone remains on schedule for a release during the second half of 2014. "That is something that we are still on track for," he said.
2nd half of 2014 could be Q3! :)
But how can you say that. Blizzard is such a poor underdog, one that barely made 4.4 Billion dollars last year.
http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/atvi/financials
They are clearly in dire need of our sympathy and support.
It's not just "pay us", it's "follow our strict standards and, if you are a very large website, pay us." According to their FAQ, they only charge websites who would gain "more than 10 million additional ad impressions per month due to participation in the Acceptable Ads initiative."
I don't get why people complain about this. In the long run, the internet can't survive without advertising. Giving websites a way to maintain their revenue stream while still blocking annoying ads is a good thing.
And if you really want to, you can just turn it off. There's a checkbox for it in the settings. Easy as that.
Team 5 really wants to prove to everyone they can do it, breaking Mark Rosewater's Lesson 12. Patches taught them nothing.

On another related note, I've traditionally had no issues connecting to the servers through my VPN (Private Internet Access) but on about the same timeline as you said it's refused to connect me. Not sure if this is Blizzard trying to crack down on cheaters or scammers, but I've found it annoying.
A PSA for Android users: Google has an app where you can answer opinion surveys and receive Play Store credit. This credit can be used to purchase packs if you download through the play store.
I mis-remembered, I thought it was in their 'behind the scenes' video, but it was in this article:
https://kotaku.com/hearthstone-director-reveals-the-craziest-card-weve-eve-1825114809
Again, it seems light-hearted. If there was legitimate internal strife with his employees over it, I doubt he would be joking about it in an interview...
Activision patented a matchmaking system a few years ago to set games up so new players get matched with veteran players, with the intent of letting the new player get stomped and left with a feeling like they need to spend money on microtransactions to compete.
We kinda see this in HS where even at rank 25 new players get steamrolled by people with meta decks and probably feel a need to buy packs to compete. I wouldn't be surprised if HS is one of their testing grounds for this system, there is zero transparency to matchmaking so they could rig it any way they want.
Actually, that's not true. Brode was the one who "tried to put a stop to the madness":
> Brode tried to put a stop to the madness, telling his colleagues: “Guys, whatever card you made that enables this, you just change it right now.” No can do, they told him. All of those cards are going into The Witchwood.
Okay that was the best community reveal so far with the short video and animation from the Cataclysm trailer. Nothing against others but just posting on Twitter is not as hype as what Brian did. So yeah, that was awesome!
And what a fucking good card!

The new wave music is supposed to contrast with the dark lyrics which is what makes the original so brilliant.
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2013/dec/10/how-we-made-mad-world-tears-fears
I love the Gary Jules cover (Donnie Darko is one of my favorite movies and a big part of my teenage years) but the original never gets old. Jules' cover takes the lyrics a bit too seriously and he just decides to gloom through it all. It's pretty and I love it, but there's something to be said for the original being so creative by making a teenage existential song so upbeat and catchy.
If you haven’t caught on Kobolds & Catacombs is a play on Dungeons & Dragons...
The Elven Minstrel is undoubtedly meant to be a Bard (a playable class in D&D). There are quite a few other nods to the game, such as the Mage Card Deck of Wonders which is clearly a play on D&D’s Deck of Many Things.
It's just the statistical variance. Since the simulation approximately follows a geometrical distribution, to get what you want, plot the data with the following formula:
lambda * e^(-lambda * x)
where lambda = 1/sqrt(Variance). You can also just take the square root to get the standard deviation (from the mean).
(Now, okay, that's only an approximation because the distribution is not geometrical - since you can't draw a deathrattle you've drawn already. The exact probability of drawing exactly X cards, not less not more, with d deathrattles in t cards is: P(X, d, t) = d!(t-X-1)!(t-d)/t!(d-X)!), didn't double-check. But, OP assumed that there are 30 cards in your deck when the experiment's performed, which is not more than an okay-ish accurate assumption as well so we can easily ignore this.)
For reference, I made an actually accurate calculation here. It's not simulated, so it's perfectly accurate and also takes the amount of cards drawn already into account. Purple line: average amount of cards drawn, orange line: the "distribution of variance" you requested. Use the sliders on the left sidebar to adjust the settings
Sorry to say it, but that almost is a thing.
(tl;dr 'Donuts' experiment currently going on over at /r/ethtrader could (and presumably still can be — I haven't followed this lately) be traded for actual Ethereum, and then from there, money)
I recommend you pick up The Elements of Style and perhaps AP's stylebook, two essential books for writing clear and concise English.
Considering that the official release is imminent, I don't really think now is the time for someone who hasn't already installed that way to go through that installation process.
Edit: It's up on Google Play now.
Because it's not relevant to the current discussion.
"Vote. If you think something contributes to conversation, upvote it. If you think it does not contribute to the subreddit it is posted in or is off-topic in a particular community, downvote it." Reddiquette
It was nice of you to wish him a happy cakeday though, but this is actually a good example of when to downvote correctly, and not because of disagreement with the comment as they usually do.

That could help for making a walpaper size upscale of the art.
Honestly it's 99% the big blocks covering half of the screen at 100% zoom, I'd probably love the site on a 4k screen and it's fine at 67% zoom.
But it's just so blocky, like some modern age art experiment.
@/u/Seminko, I don't suppose you would like to post the source online to Github? It would provide a free host for your files and you can also use GitHub to handle your website auto-update requests: https://pages.github.com/
Maybe something like this is what you need: https://github.com/J2TeaM/autoit-updater
Your right, the set of possible movies in chess is far greater than in hearthstone, it is a harder game to play, much harder.
Mercifully, however, chess doesn't have any "If a bishop moves next to a peon, that peon can move twice in one turn" shenanigans. (Thought I just remembered en passant)
The ugliest thing about making AI for hearthstone is that your brute force analysis has to do two things:
Understand what every card does and exactly how hearthstone plays them out in order to simulate the results of an action (eg. knowing that playing warsong commander gives all your subsequently played minions charge) and...
Differentiate the subjective value of board positions at the end result of each play.
Don't underestimate this kind of work. This is hard. I'd rather write AI for games like http://robocode.sourceforge.net/
which I have.
and wait to you get a load of the crazy branching predictive models in use there. MAH GOD.
Don't use any of these spammy commercial emulators, the official android SDK includes an emulator. Bluestacks won't run hearthstone. I think Genymotion might work if the official one is too much of a hassle.
https://developer.android.com/tools/devices/managing-avds.html
EDIT: It looks like Genymotion is a much more development-focused emulator, no ads or any of that shit. Feels like an improved AVD manager.

EDIT 2: Hearthstone doesn't run on Genymotion and the Amazon app store crashes in the official emulator:(
I think AMD users are shit out of luck... gonna see if I can borrow a friend's kindle fire
> As a general rule, I try to make my opponent's best theoretical play an awkward one.
This. 100x this. Force your opp to make sub-optimal plays every turn and pay attention to how your opp reacts in order to get a read on what they have in their hand. Did they try to target a minion w/ a card only to pull it back? Well they have some form of direct removal most likely, put that in the memory banks for later.
Cheezy as it may be, there's applicable strategy standing on the backs of giants: “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” -Sun Tzu, The Art of War
Translation for Hearthstone: Know your deck's strengths and weaknesses. Play to your outs. Play to WIN, not to lose. Know your opp's deck in and out (or try your best to). Force sub-optimal plays from your opp, whenever possible. And lastly, analyze your mistakes and your losses to learn from them. Don't tilt. Consider every failure a learning experience, grow stronger from it.
Yes, I was trying to find the Ben Brode quote.
> Seeing a playtester pull off that exact trick struck fear in Ben Brode’s heart. “These guys were play testing on Friday,” Brode said. “I watched a guy play Shudderwock, summon an exact copy, and then there’s another card called Grumble, who returns all of the minions to your hand, and now they cost one. And so that battlecry went off, and that second copy went back to his hand with a cost of one. And there’s 20 other battlecries. So this thing went on for a minute—and then he plays the second Shudderwock.” Brode shook his head, laughing.

The Top 8 of Pro Tour Dominaria a few days ago had 7 Red decks, and some of them splashed black for value cards. So most of the matches were Red(/black) vs Red(/black).

Check https://haveibeenpwned.com/ and look if your passwords got leaked somewhere, its not unusual to have your passwords leaked somewhere however the real problem occurs when you share the same pw everywhere (especially if sharing service and mail) so see if you have been hacked somewhere that has the same pw as your email and blizzard.
Hopefully you can fix your issue somehow and get your account back.

Hey reddit,
So we got approved for a second episode thanks to NordVPN and will be doing episode 2 of the podcast tomorrow on u/Kibler's channel (
We still doing the show based on our sponsorship opportunities, so even if you only tune in for part of the show and AFK, it would be a big help to keep it going!
Like last time, we will be answering fan questions from the twitter replies / this red thread, so if you have any, feel free to reply here or DM if you'd like!
printed on an ender 3
.2 layer height
used a raft and no supports
20% infill which is more than necessary, but i like nicer things to have some more weight and sturdiness
filament: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074QNBQRW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
pictures don't do it justice.
if i printed again i'd consider going down to .1 layer height if i'm not feeling impatient and turn off ironing in cura. the shininess in this filament gets lost in the few places it ironed. and i'd possibly print it even bigger because it just looks so cool.
I use this : https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming

Hope that helps!
There are plenty of people who haven't spent any money on the game who have a lot of legendaries. Play arena and do well and you can get a huge amount of cards for free, and in the process learn the game mechanics better.
It's true that if you spend money you will get more cards, but you can't say just because someone has a deck with 5 legendaries they must have spent a bunch of money. I've seen people open their first pack and have a golden legendary in it and 5 packs later get another one. It's all luck, just keep going at it and eventually you'll get what you need.
If you're frustrated with ranked then don't play it, there's really no advantages to playing ranked vs casual at the moment.
If you're determined to play ranked then find a way to counter the decks you're seeing. This post has a lot of really good advice:
https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/1vv40i/efficient_laddering_countering_and_playing_the/
There are people with 5-7 legendary decks still at rank 19, and you're already way ahead of them... you really can't blame your lack of progress on other people. Saying that only makes it sound like you're looking for an excuse to why you don't need to improve your play.
Sorry if I'm coming off as mean, but I see this way too often.
There was an interview with eric dodds where he basically said the reason they werent working on it was that it would completely throw out the balance of the game, and that they didnt feel it would be something the game needed, and i feel the same way I think it would just throw the balance completely out.
Here is the link to the interview http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/974/feature/8885/Hearthstone-Heroes-of-Warcraft-Eric-Dodds-on-New-Classes-Class-Balance-and-More.html
It's actually really easy to solve, you just need to switch your resolution before opening the game. You can use a tool like this: http://www.madrau.com/ to quickly switch to the native res of your screen before opening the game, then the game allows you to choose your native res.
I have a few other games that do exactly the same thing, so it's probaby to do with the Unity engine.
If u r on Android then check out the app My Decks - a lightweight app for storing and sharing decks. Unlimited storage https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kumar.ak.arpit.mydecks
This was made by a good friend of mine(u/arpitduel), we all use it very regularly and its a godsend.

Why is there a Korean version of the German song "Kleiner Hai"?
The whole thing started here in 2007. A friend of her told her she wouldn't dare performing this in public so she put in on YouTube. One year later she got a label contract and was performing the song on TV.
The lyrics (leaving out dimdimdim and repetitions):
Babyshark. Small shark. Big shark. Giant shark. Great White Shark. Girl is swimming. Shark sees. Girl sees. Shark catches up. Girl is swimming. Shark catches up. Girl is swimming. Girl is screaming AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH. Shark eats. Bad shark.

On the subject of top players being unable to repeat championships: take a look at Magic Pro Tour lifetime results - https://magic.wizards.com/en/events/coverage/top-players/statistics/top-8-by-player
By the arguments presented by Splyce in this video, Magic is not a game that you can build brands around or that has a future. There are so many names on the list and so few repeat champions!
Clearly, there is some longevity to Magic, much more so than to any esport title so far.
Therefore, the argument does not succeed. Card games are simply different from fighting games or FPS or RTS.
He is still going against Spotify's terms and conditions of use. In the section I linked you can only use the service and content for personal, non-commercial, entertainment use, which playing it on his stream isn't. If you feel that that isn't clear enough it goes on to say that you will not redistribute or transfer the Spotify Service or Content. So ya, paying for something doesn't mean you can break their TOS. And then looking further under user guidelines they further explain that what he is doing is something they don't want him to do.
Psychosomatic doesn't always mean something is caused by a mental illness, unless you count ANY disease that affects the mind as a mental illness, and then fibromyalgia already counts as a mental illness by itself.
The reason people think fibro is psychosomatic is because there is a link between fibro and stress. Stress can be the triggering event for the onset of fibro or its sister disorders like CRPS, and also exacerbates existing symptoms. In addition, exercise to reduce stress, improve cardiovascular health, "reset" your body's central nervous system, and increase muscular strength is effective at reducing fibromyalgia symptoms. These two things, taken in combination, point to fibromyalgia as a possible psychosomatic stress disorder, like panic attacks and concussions. Do note that "Stress" can mean more than the stress you experience when going through a breakup or studying for finals. It can also mean physical stress or trauma that nonetheless requires a lot of mental and physical attention and anxiety.
