Step 1: download the app Settings Database Editor: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=by4a.setedit22
Step 2: Open the app and make sure in the dropdown menu on the top right is "System Table" selected.
Step 3: Scroll down untill you find: "op_custom_unlock_animation_style"
Step 4: Click it then select "Edit Value", change it to "3" and click in save changes.
You're done!
Edit: I think it doesn't work for the T-Mobile version.
There is no external notification lights on the 6T but you can use an app called notifybuddy which mimics the notification light using the amoled screen.
Link to app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xander.android.notifybuddy
Here's the link: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/zen-mode/zen-mode-1-2-0-release/zen-mode-1-2-0-android-apk-download/
It works perfectly, tried it out and the link above showed how it functions.
"Google Play system updates Android devices already get regular security updates. And in Android 10, you'll get them even faster and easier. With Google Play system updates, important Security and Privacy fixes can now be sent directly to your phone from Google Play, just the same way all your other apps update. So you get these fixes as soon as they are available."
https://www.android.com/android-10/#q-security-updates
Also the first part of this article explains exactly how the Google Play system updates work and what they are.
I'm sure there's probably some way to turn this off, but by default these are automatic updates that are pushed out.
If you have Debugging ON on your phone and you can accept a popup window (with normal keyboard connected to the phone) you can use https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy to control your phone. With that, you can backup your phone. I'm not sure if the 6T offers HDMI out on the USB-C port by default.
Honestly i would upgrade, but i rather get a Samsung or Poco instread.
"scrcpy" makes easier to make a phone demo/presentations or play full-screen games (screen rotation supported) on your computer not only by cable but also over wifi (it's cool to make or take a phone call from the screen while your phone is in your pocket or another room - wireless bullets) some screenshots..
give it a try!
If you haven't already, add your Google account to your iPhone and enable contacts. The iPhone contacts will then get backed up online (verify at contacts.google.com).
After that, just install the Google contacts app on the OnePlus 6T and it will sync up.

A lot of people here recommend Velis Auto Brightness, works really well. Just have to lock the app to keep it open and you might have to disable battery optimization for it too.
If you are on stock OxygenOS then use jOnePlus Tools and enable Call Recorder from there. You don't need to enable the service toggle for it. Once you do that the native Call Recorder feature should enable in Android and it will record both sides just fine.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.jroot3d.joneplustools
Just a note only some options need root. Call Recorder toggle does not need root.
Pretty decent "port" someone put on the play store. Works great, though you need to sideload an apk to get the Google page to the left working.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=amirz.rootless.nexuslauncher
Thanks for posting. I'm getting my 6T soon and haven't rooted since my Moto X days. Couple of questions and comments:
1) In order to theme apps via Swift Installer, do they require you to theme the system?
2) There's a new app called Migrate that's supposed to be a better alternative to Titanium.
3) Overlays require full permissions, and yes, they're a security concern. That is why Google blocked them, and you can only use them with root. Use them if you trust the developers.
Unless you actually need TWRP I’d just temporarily boot the latest TWRP ( fastboot boot latesttwrp.img
) and then flash the Magisk zip. No chance of screwing up your boot partition then. https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplus6t.html
I didn't want to wait, so converted it to international:
Thread 'T-Mobile 6T to International Conversion (WITHOUT unlocked bootloader/SIM unlock!)' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/t-mobile-6t-to-international-conversion-without-unlocked-bootloader-sim-unlock.3888307/
You can then unlock it without waiting.
I also purchased a dual sim tray for $6: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T1PTRJP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_9WEXMBDNBJ8PH7NVVG32?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Hi, I was in the same situation at yourself two weeks ago. So I did some snooping around and found some great alternatives for cables and charging bricks that work great so far.
I bought this charging bricks off eBay, I think it's pretty much a original brick, just discounted. Shipping was good and I got what exactly described.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/373528569535
This cable I bought off Amazon. It's not an original but the quality of the cable is the same and does activate fast charging on my 6T paired with the above warp charge brick.
Dash Charge Cable Replacement for OnePlus 7, COOYA 5V 4A Warp Charging Cable for OnePlus 7 Pro 8 7T USB Type C Cable, 6FT Long USB C Cable Dash Charging for OnePlus 6T/ 6, OnePlus 5T/ 5, OnePlus 3/ 3T https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SHDS3PD/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_glt_fabc_7ZE1XYTARMEVFBFF55YC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I found several replacement parts on ebay. I replaced my USB-C port and antenna cable. -> The tools I used for replacement
The red silicone case from OnePlus is the best I have ever used. It is definitely on par with the silicone cases that Apple makes for it's iPhones. Otherwise if you want a cheaper option, here is a case on Amazon which has blown my mind on the design and durability of it. Cheers!

Here you go mate.
Use Navbar apps. You can put different images or colors. It works really well. I've used if for awhile. You can specify a color for each app or for all https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.damianpiwowarski.navbarapps
Install AccuBattery my man. Read up on the info it contains and you can use it to track what is killing off your power.
HERE.
Redox - They cost $0.99 but they frequently get made free. Regardless, it's a really nice icon pack and I think it's worth the $0.99, but if you're not willing to spend money on your home screen, you can just watch the item and see when it goes on "sale"
Thank you! And yes,no problem! there's more awesome wallpapers too! I found an apk file from XDA, the wallpapers was snatched right out of a Huwaei Honor Magic 2 it'll be a "zip file" so I highly recommend you to download an app from the play store called "ZArchiver" it'll unzip the file instantly here's a link to it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver
Link to Wallpapers:
Samsung Internet Browser is what I use on my 6T! I love the night mode, and I've never had any problems with battery usage while using it. It's also got extension support so plenty of customization options ...
I'm using muzei for my wallpaper (live wallpaper app in app store) I'm also Reddit app for muzei so that it gets random images off Reddit, sometimes use the Google Earth muzei plugin thing
Muzei - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nurik.roman.muzei
Reddit plugin thing - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stoyck.vitrina
I'm using the Spigen liquid air armor and like it a lot. Will protect but is still kind of slim, and isn't a fingerprint or grease magnet. https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Liquid-Armor-Designed-OnePlus/dp/B07HQPF72T
Even better, if you install the latest OP 6T official camera apk you'll get even better results. (As the app in the phone doesn't receive playstore updates) Link: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/oneplus-camera/oneplus-camera-3-8-52-release/oneplus-camera-3-8-52-android-apk-download/
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/deletescape/ . I think for double tap to wake to work you will need to customise the Gestures setting in Lawnchair. Then need to enable the service under System > Accessibility and Device admin under Security & lock screen in Android settings.
Doesn't sound too bad for a device as old as it is....but hard to tell without knowing actual SOT.
Check your battery health with Accubatery. (though this will take little while to gather data and give a reliable answer)
Or use the OnePlus Diagnostic app, and it should be able to give you a battery health percentage right away.
Update the app to the latest version. Problem solved. Same as OnePlus Launcher - there was a tiny lag/framedrop when pulling app list up, a few skipped frames. Irritated everybody to no end. Latest (albeit beta) update fixed it all, while also introducing parking feature. LoL for that.
On your phone, copy|paste https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/ and choose OnePlus Weather, download and update the app. Clear cache & you're good to go. Though this seems to be from the the newest OpenBeta release, which was released just yesterday. I've been updating apps from apkmirror since I owned OnePlus 3 and there wasn't any single problem.
I'm using Arnova8G2's mod. It's stable and easier to keep track of since it's on APK Mirror. Artem (owner of APK Mirror & Android Police) uploaded it himself.
You could try installing the latest GPS from apkmirror if you're not already on the latest version.
And do you know if these apps require root validation? Some of my banking apps work but the main one doesn't. Could you please try this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pe.scotiabank.clubs If the phone is "rooted" you won't get past the first screen
Edit - I was pointed to this link to resolve issues with Outlook. It worked beautifully!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-microsoft-intune-company-portal-t3780451
I was facing same issue. Used Ampere to compare charging current. Turned out, my USB C Port wasn't working properly. Try clearing lint first maybe it might work for you.
I have butter hands and have dropped my phone twice. THIS cover is an exact replacement. And it's super easy to replace. If you are at all considering getting a battery now would be the time to change it if you're taking your back cover off the battery is right there. I also got my battery from ifixit.com which is also a direct replacement and it works just as good as the factory battery.
I used this one for dialing unemployment back in April. It worked very well, and even included being able to pause and enter keys if you have to go through menus.

Link to app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ioswidgetsmith.kustom.pack

Please consider getting the app and reviewing it, ill be updating it every week or so. Thx so much :)
I didn't use the TPU case I got with the phone. I ended up going with a carbon fiber case from Amazon and it's been great. Feels awesome in the hand and was significantly cheaper than the cases sold by OnePlus

I got this off of Amazon; works perfect. And yes even the fingerprint sensor works like a charm
I came from the Essential PH-1, and my adapter works well with my 6T. Here is the Amazon Link. https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Phone-USB-C-Headphone-Adapter/dp/B079H555L4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1550014293&sr=8-3&keywords=essential+usb+c+to+3.5mm
I bought this one on Amazon and it works great. I fast charge with it every day.

Check your battery working efficiency by using ampere app.
This app will show the battery efficiency after all these years,my 6t gives half a day of full blown usage and almost a day on less usage. At this time my phone's battery has 83% efficiency. If yours is below recommended level, you maybe will have to replace the battery.
Use Oxygen Updater download it from app store. If you're rooted download full update instead of incremental update. It'll auto download then install it from system update>local update. Everything will go smoothly (Still not responsible for anything going wrong)
You can use the built-in parallel app system and install a native parallel app via adb, you just have to run this command:
adb install –user 999 APPNAME.apk
Things you'll need: - pc with adb installed - usb debugging on - the apk of the app you want to duplicate. If you don't have it, just use this app to extract the original apk from you already installed app on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ext.ui
You don't need root for this (I tried this on my non-rooted OnePlus 6T).
ps: of course you have to be in the folder where you have the apk you want to install for the command to work.
I think it is because of the Android System Webview.
Try updating it and by any chance that you people are on Beta for this app?
Edit : I also have the same issue but I read somewhere that this might be the cause.
Your battery saver turns on when there is 15% left. It turns OFF when you charge it past 90%. Anyways this is not a way to evaluate your battery. If you are concerned that your battery is in a bad shape you can easily measure it with apps like AccuBattery ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.accubattery ).
Bro i cant do that because currently i am using oneplus 7 and oneplus 6t and 7 have same set of screen.
But u can make your own and of any colour
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.broaden.s10edge
Just download the app and select the notch type.....take screenshot if you dont want a live wallpaper and add stars or very short dots from any photo edit app.
Hey man you can try these two apps
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pinellascodeworks.securewipe
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aiuspaktyn.secureeraser
This might help you out
It is actually moving rgb lighting, and iirc it doesn't use that much battery. I just charged my battery so I can't see the exact percentages but ill track the usage and post the results tomorrow. Oh and the icon pack is lines
u/redemptionX11
Sorry, now it's just "Rootless Launcher"...it used to be Rootless Pixel Launcher...he renamed it to thwart the wrath of the Google...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=amirz.rootless.nexuslauncher
See notes on that app for the extra bridge app
Thanks mate. I am not sure show to provide the link but I got this wallpaper from Amoled Wallpapers . Once you will install the app then search under Abstract Category for this. You will find a lot of similar minimalist wallpapers.
I recommend changing icon pack to this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.pt.iconpack.pixel Also change the godamm YouTube Vanced icon to YouTube's original one it would look better
JOnePlus Tools. You need root or to use ADB to enable it. It unlocks a few minor features including the 'Built in call recorder that is disabled.
Try the Files by Google app -- it'll let you browse images, downloads, audio, documents and other stuff on the file system. It's pretty great and I hope it helps you out.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.nbu.files&hl=en_us
Free version has a 4.1 rating and the paid version has a 2.7. Yikes! I am a long time BoldBeast recorder before I discovered the Magisk root version. I'll play with it verse the free one and see which is better.
Thanks.
If it wasn't a wallpaper, I definitely would. That does look really nice. I'm kinda set on my wallpaper It's amoled and the pattern moves, colors change. Moves with a touch of the finger, even through transparent apps.
Ifixit battery is legit and it is very easy to change. If not careful the back glass panel may crack when removing it so I suggest just buying a new panel and it will come with all the tools needed to take it off which means you have all the tools to change the battery aside from the very small philps/slotted screw driver for the battery plug.
Seriously easy job to do.
I combined a honeycomb bloom skin under this gel case and I love it for looks and protection. Along with tempered glass screen of course, I change those 1-3 times a year. Except I got the case in blue which is sold out. That was after rocking a thin harder plastic case for a while.
These work.. bought these for my x4 and they worked just fine with my 6t and 3rd party warp/dash charger.. Honestly didn't even know it was an issue until I started reading this subreddit.. but yeah, I get the lightning bolt icon, accubattery says 2800-3000mA charging speed. No issues here..
Super easy fix, I've replaced mine 3 times now.
Edit: Here's the last one I ordered. Comes with all you need to remove the old one. All you need is a hair dryer to heat up the glue to pull it off.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08285SJMJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I've been rocking the carbon fiber for a while with no issues.
I bought this back in Dec 2019. It looks original and feels original...for 20 bucks it's not bad at all..really easy to put on...the tools they give are useless but that's ok, u don't need them anyway...took me about 20 mins.
> Did you buy this used? Maybe the seller had done the Magisk hide to get it certified and you lost root when you updated and that's why you're just seeing this.
If Amazon "renewed" is defined as used, then I guess it is. Bought it on 11/4/2019 here.
Oh nice. I just bought a $14 one on Amazon but that might have been better. At least this one is Nylon so it's less likely to break soon.
I bought this in December, paid like 25 USD. Can't even tell it's a replacement. It's got the 's' that shines with the light in it as well....has the adhesive. Tools are whack tho. But seriously 5/5. Highly recommend if u want to replace it
Edit: I purchased the Midnight Black. Few months after replacing the back cover I broke the screen. Small crack in the Amoled, not the glass...had it replaced by OnePlus customer service center while I was abroad, they didn't even notice it waant the original back piece.
My phone is constantly in contact with lots of keys placed into a "valuables bag" during my men's league hockey games. I had to replace the original OnePlus factory screen protector that got dinged within 1 month of being put in that bag. After 5 more months and a few more scratches, it was time...
After 6 months of use, these screen protectors are an amazing value and don't show any wear, dings, or scratches. Work perfectly with my Tech21 case, too. Application was quick and flawless. Still have 3 extra protectors at the ready - no sign of needing them anytime soon. These protectors are MUCH better and significantly lower cost than any other brands I have used before on my other devices. Very pleased.
Here's a link via Amazon: OMOTON Tempered Glass Screen Protector - 4 pack
I don't get any affiliate perks - just trying to pass along helpful information to help others.
It's called Weather Timeline. Pretty nice although things got a bit worse after a company bought it form the original developer. They're active here on Reddit, too (/u/radar_ranger). Unfortunately they removed other provider like DWD here in Germany.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samruston.weather
the contact photo quality is google's fault...you are just importing...i use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lifeternet.profilephotosync&hl=ro and it works great...there is some modifications that you need to do to the contacts info but once it's done it forever
Yeah, something's going on for sure. Android System is taking too much of your battery, too. But that could be directly related to Play Services. Also, it looks like there's an idle drain?
This is a tricky one. Have you updated Google Play Services ? It doesn't always auto update itself and you can't access it directly on Google Play . On your phone's browser, type in Google's search "Google Play Services", and on the very top you'll see a link to it. Tap it and it should take you to Google Play directly. Or copy/paste this link on your browser: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms&hl=en
The latest stable update for it was on March 22. Check and confirm that you have the same version and take it from there. Have you ever done a cache wipe ?
Depends on what you are looking for, I posted about a live wallpaper that looks awesome, and you can even add a custom background image. Here it is if you want to take a look. I also really like this icon pack.
AMOLED LiveWallpaper - It's free, but you can unlock some extra customization for $0.99. I didn't purchase that unlock yet, so it'll look like my video by default. I'm definitely considering purchasing the unlock, though.
Okay. I hate to be that guy...
But Android isn't great for making music mostly due to latency. It's not about power, but rather how sound is rendered.
If you're just recording external sounds and such, you might be able to get away with using something like Audio Evolution Mobile Studio. If you have any external MIDI control with VST's though, I've had nothing but trouble personally.
Either way, check out the one I mentioned above, it's pretty cheap either way and should get you started in actual multitrack recording.
Oh and for free, check out Stagelight: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.openlabs.stagelight
I use Shortcutter for this. Highly recommended, a bunch of other useful quick toggles too, just make sure to disable battery optimization for the app or it will not work properly.
It’s set on the first quick toggle on my 6T to turn off “heads up” notifications. If I’m showing someone a photo or video on my phone, I quickly toggle heads up off so any notifications that come in are not obtrusively blocking the content.
I use Quickpic, gallery app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alensw.PicFolder) and if you go to a folder that you don't want to see listed, use the "hide" option and it will place a nomedia file into the directory for you.
I moved also over from S8+ to OP6T with OnePlus Switch but as all my life is also synced with Google and LastPass so it did not really matter to me. Welcome to OP world. Start from joining the gang.
Icon Pack Studio, it's app that lets you make your own icon pack, I just have the back colour of the app set to the app colour and the app icon white.
Icon pack studio- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ginlemon.iconpackstudio
Are you joking?
Just by a "WiFi Ethernet repeater hotspot" it's a mini wifi router that turn Ethernet connection into WiFi, you can also set it up as a repeat of, hotspot, or personal wifi
Do you know if this goes for all Oneplus6T's? I found one on amazon that says NOT COMPATIBLE WITH VERIZON which worries me a bit. Thanks.
Edit: Here's the actual link to the amazon item. https://www.amazon.com/OnePlus-Unlocked-International-Warranty-Mirror/dp/B07L395DB4/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=oneplus+6t&qid=1556040432&s=gateway&sr=8-1
I converted my TMobile variant to international and have 9.0.11. I bought this 2 days ago and arrived yesterday. I am travelling offshore on Wednesday, and needed immediately
Seems to only be compatible with certain phones but I can't imagine that they wouldn't work on a 6T when they work on a P20 Pro.

Cant take pics cause dont have another phone atm. But the case is garbage, ordered this case to show off the purple. Really good look!
