A popular way at moment is to:
It sounds a bit convoluted but it’s painless in practice. Revolut is a free banking app. They’re FCA approved and you can sign up quickly without proof of address or a credit check.
Here’s another post demonstrating this method: https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinUK/comments/7g7p6u/a_definitive_guide_to_buying_bitcoin_in_the_uk/?st=JB25130Z&sh=f4f60b73
And here’s my referral link for Revolut if you decide to use it: https://revolut.com/r/keiran927!crypto
You could also use localbitcoins to exchange BTC for GBP but the rates on there will batter your profits.
Evo ti moj referral link: https://revolut.com/referral/nevenii5b!AUG1AR
Pa javi ako napraviš pa ti pošaljem pare ;)
Čestitam još jednom!
Check out revolut. It's a card you can use at ATM's that you top up via an app.
I'm in the UK and really impressed with the sign up. You get the app, sign up and your card is delivered a few days later. As a plus it also looks cool.
They are a new startup and currently not making money from the exchange rate with no ATM fees globally. My GF has been using hers for a couple of weeks in SE Asia without issues and I plan to do the same when I join her.
If you're in the States or Europe check out Revolut. Feeless banking that uses ripple for cross border payments. Can't wait for it to come to Canada. There's this dope feature that lets you round to the nearest dollar and automatically buy crypto with the change. What a sweet way to accumulate.
I use Revolut. It works like a top-up credit card. You load it with GBP using an app then convert to whatever currency you want at the market rate. You get the best possible EUR-GBP rate and there are no fees (until you start spending very large amounts). I used it in Belgium recently and it was amazing. It's also contactless.
>How can I challenge a card transaction?
> If you see a transaction on your Revolut wallet which you don’t recognise, or you believe should have been refunded, please contact the in-app support so we can investigate for you. Following an internal investigation, we may decide to raise a charge back on your behalf. This effectively raises a dispute with the merchant on your behalf. Please gather all available supporting evidence to provide to support via the in-app support.

Check out Revolut. I can't recommend them enough. I have used them while I've been in Sweden for the last 18 months. No transaction fees whatsoever, you're allowed £200 a month in cash withdrawal before charges apply and the exchange rates are better than those offered by travel exchanges.
You have to verify yourself by scanning a passport and selfie of your ugly mug and then you're allowed to top up to £25,000 a year. All very straight forward.
If you click on my link, I get entry to a draw to win some world cup tickets for the referral: https://revolut.com/r/declan37
Otherwise it is https://revolut.com if you prefer not to.
Have you considered Revolut? It gives you both interbank exchange rates and instant money transfers to other users. Plus a cheap payment/ATM card giving some free withdrawals anywhere in the world. With their premium service there are additional benefits but I've been using the free version for more than a year as a secondary card and found it sufficient. I especially like push notifications on my phone the very second I've paid for something with the card. P.S. I hope this is not against forum rules - if so, please feel free to edit - but if you use my "invite a friend" link https://revolut.com/r/gedimi8c0 to sign up it would help me get access to one of their premium services, crypto exchange which I'm quite curious about (but not curious enough to pay for premium).
I wrote a step-by-step for the Revolut method here. I’m a big fan of Revolut for all sorts of reasons. If you do decide to sign up and fancy doing a stranger a favour, you could use my referral link: https://revolut.com/r/keiran927!crypto
If you travel semi-regularly the best thing to get is a card like revolut. I got one a while back and I'll swear by it.
It's £5 for the initial delivery but the rates for every currency seem to be better than that which you'd get on the high street. For example, right now if I were to add €100 to my card I would have to exchange £88.66. Whereas with the post office you would need to exchange £91.21. There are no charges on ATM withdrawals up to £200 per calendar month and you can lift money abroad. You can also pay directly with the card instead and it all gets synced up with a phone app that lets you keep track of spending.
Plus with the removal of data roaming charges in the eurozone, if you run out of money at the end of the holiday just load up the app, add what you need and lift it from the nearest ATM with no charges.

Go for a prepaid card that offers fee-free spending and/or withdrawal. Revolut is quite popular these days, and it exchanges currency at the base Mastercard rate.
If you don't fancy a prepaid, a couple of credit cards – notably the Halifax Clarity – offer fee-free spending and withdrawal at the Mastercard rate.
Another option is the Travelex Supercard, a prepaid that "links" to your British debit or credit card, that offers fee-free spending but a 3% commission on ATM withdrawals.
Sign up with my link and get 60 PLN after you order a card and complete 3 purchases all before the 26th October 2021. While you await the physical card you can use a virtual card as all actions must be completed before the deadline.
Teraz to má cela moja rodina. Mám účty asi v 6tich menách a absolútne bez problémov. Ja mám ešte Mastercard teraz dávajú visu. Prevody sú max do 1 dňa vramci revolut a napr. Tatrabanka.
DEGIRO: o contrário do Best.
Recomendo vivamente a criares conta.
Hey bud check out Revolut, I can’t recommend it enough. I’m travelling from the UK to Denmark in June and wanted a hassle free way of spending money there without paying huge fees or exchanging psychical money to the local currency before I go.
It’s an iPhone app that lets you add your normal debit card as a top up method. You can then transfer money from your normal debit card into the app. Once you’ve topped up you can exchange your balance from gbp into a number of different currencies at a better exchange rate than you’ll find on the high street.
Everything is free, you only pay for delivery of the physical card which is £4.99 but I think if you use my referral link they’ll send you one out for free.

Any questions let me know.
Russia is one of the few countries I wouldn't use Revolut - they charge a 1.5% markup on THB and RUB (1% on UAH).
On the weekends, there is a markup of 0.5% on major currencies and 1% on other currencies, rising to 1.5% for THB and RUB.
I have enjoyed using Revolut greatly. They give cashback rewards for some shops. Went to Flat iron last weekend and received 30% cashback rewards off total bills would recommend

Have you got revolut? They are doing a £60 bonus if you refer a friend at the minute, maximum of 5 friends for a max £300. The people you refer just have to spend £15 on their new revolut card (3 separate transactions of £5 minimum)
My ref link is ref
And here is non-ref
Obviously if you use my link you will need to spend £15, so if you’re strapped for cash the non ref link is there! Then the offer will open to you and you can refer your friends. The bonus lands in your account instantly as well, good luck!
If you are in the EU your best call is to setup a Revolut account (online bank, very easy to open account) and and from there you can do sepa transfers (free) to Binance/Coinbase (Nexo also works). It also nice in case your country doesn't have Euro, since you can do free currency exchange. Depending on what you are buying, you can try other places also.
Feel free to use my ref code:
https://revolut.com/referral/dimitr0kt!AUG2AR
P.S: don't bother with buying crypto directly on Revolut.
Just to clarify OP, it's not a two-sided offer, only the referrers get a bonus. Check your Revolut app under "invite friends".
However, if anyone would still like to sign up - it's a fantastic app and has saved me so much on exchange fees already! It's also really useful for other offers on this sub, so if you'd like to sign up, I've also got five invites available and would really appreciate anyone signing up through my link:
https://revolut.com/referral/michaenxr!AUG2AR
The conditions are the same as OP's, get a new card (£5) and make three purchases of at least £5 each, before 14 September (can be through the virtual card while you wait for the physical card).
If anyone is just signing up for revolut, you can use my ref - I will put all sign up bonus from the ref in $GME

Also, to be fair today during all the time the shitty eToro was saying "market closed", I had no problem buying @ 194 in Revolut
(couldn't get the deeper dip since needed to fund the account and was storming at etoro, so can't be sure if it was working then)
Try revolut its a British bank that has recently expanded outside of Europe to the US and Australia you can use the Russian Ruble and it will auto convert to the currency you want to use. They have a card that gets regenerated like https://privacy.com since it’s not available in the U.K. or anywhere else in the world.
I did have problems at one point especially since they use SMS to login and nothing else and their support can only be used if you have an account and if you’re logged in which is retarded. They have an Ai system that detects fraud/money laundering as well which is good but bad if you didn’t do anything wrong so use with caution.
Hope this helps. https://revolut.com
That is definitely a nice feature. However, if this is the main thing that you're looking for then revolut.com has the same feature - and their cards ship to EU already for around 5 euro (or you can have the free virtual card)
Here's my method.
Transfer times from Revolut to kraken.com can take a few days or a few hours, but I'd rather be patient than have to pay Coinbase a large fee for an instant buy.
If you like the idea of a Revolut account, I would be grateful if you would consider using my invitation link, https://revolut.com/r/stefancdu
You can do the following for minimalised fees:
This would count as manufactured spending, which AMEX cracked down on back in ~January. I very highly doubt your idea would work. Also --
American Express:
>Q: What is an eligible purchase?
A: Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of traveler’s checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents.
And --
> Revolut:
Q: What card can I use to top up?
A: You can top-up your Revolut account with a debit or credit card. We currently support MasterCard or Visa Credit cards to top-up. Please note, credit card top-ups will be recognised as a normal card transaction, not a cash advance. Unfortunately, some Maestro, pre-paid debit cards and American Express are not supported.
These places shouldn't exist any more. There are services out there like Revolut
You're welcome.
E: Apparently not available in the US yet, but be aware of it. I'm sure it will be soon.
there's this app https://revolut.com/
basically allows you to exchange money at the market rate they also give you a card to use that you can store funds on , not bitcoin related but a Super APP at that
Get the Revolut app on your phone and link this virtual card to your account. You can then add currency in £/$/€ and get an interbank rate on FX when you use it to make purchases.
It is also great for buying from other regions.
How does revolt help? It seems like all they do is not charge a fee for currency conversions; but don't do anything to help with the actual exchange rate fluctuations... Or am I missing something?
Revolut is a good option, I found it just yesterday and it looks really great. Just download the app and it will give you a free multi-currency debit card. You can use the card to pay in any currency at the best exchange rate. This service seems to be completely free. https://revolut.com/

Good news: "Revolut Crypto will be getting not one, but two new currencies added to the existing lineup. We're extremely proud to announce that we will be adding Ripple (XRP) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH), alongside the current Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC) and Ether (ETH)."
I used bitstamp to withdraw. Kraken no longer offer GBP pairing for crypto.
You will suffer a terrible exchange rate from your bank when you withdraw in EUR
you can bypass FX with revolute, but I haven’t tried that route yet. I have only used revolute to put money/EUR into Crypto (https://revolut.com/r/pingbc1h!crypto)
In theory you can: 1. Withdraw EUR from bitstamp / Kraken 2. Convert GBP to EUR in revolute for free at a good interbank rate if you do it at working hour 3. Spend money via revolute or transfer it to bank account for free
Stay with free version of revolute This only work with amount less than £25k
Revolut is the bollocks. If you do decide to sign up and fancy doing a stranger a favour, you could use my referral link: https://revolut.com/r/keiran927!crypto
The main reason people use Revolut in the middle is to convert between EUR and GBP at the best rate. If you can already SEPA between your bank and your exchange without getting battered by fees you might not have a use for Revolut.
Since the OP seems to be from the UK, I would recommend a Revolut card - very easy to set up (all you need is a smartphone and photo ID), you'll get much better forex rates than your bank (you'll pretty much get the daily rates you see on Google), and there are no fees on ATM foreign cash withdraws up to £200/€200 per month (2% after that). No fees on foreign point-of-sale transactions.
It basically works as a pre-paid MasterCard once you order the physical card, and you can top it up with any other credit/debit card or SEPA transfers.
Revolut is available to most countries in Europe (not just the EU).
Don't forget online banking startups like Revolut are already integrating Bitcoin into their apps. Revolut's business app offering gives us an insight into things to come.
All your company employees get their own cards and accounts as standard and all the accounting/expense reports is essentially done in app (no more paper receipts to worry about).
You can also add all your friends and send payments instantly.
Get the feeling this is all coming full circle? And that techies in bank and fintech startups in London have actually figured out how to truly innovate and fix this finance mess working with us? Whilst people in the Big Block brigade were busy staring at market charts, worrying about alts and getting overly worked up over price movements?
> Will they take my Maestro Debit at the supermarkets? Are there sick conversions or there is paying in my own currency till I make bank arrangements in Poland?
They will. Debit cards are widely accepted in Poland (not like in Germany :/). Some shops will have a minimum transaction amount displayed (usually 10 PLN), which is illegal (or rather - against the card company rules - technically you could report the shop to Visa/MasterCard) by the way (but most people don't argue with them and most people are unaware of that fact). Those are small shops. In hipermarkets you can even pay for your single candy bar with a card.
As for "sick conversion rates" - that depends on your Croatian bank. You need to check how payments and money withdrawal abroad works in your domestic bank. Take a look at Revolut - it might give you a better offer than your bank. You can order a physical card with them.
> In general, how are Poles? Based on my MMO history I find you generally angry and nervous.
I don't think MMO is a good indicator. :) A lot of people online are jerks.
When I go to Croatia I kinda feel like home. It's like a warm version of Poland. ;) I hope it works the other way, too, and you will acclimatize fast.
EDIT
What else...
Tram/bus network is pretty good. You can use jakdojade.pl to check the routes, the schedule and more. There are mobile apps, too.
We have a growing network of city bikes (wavelo.pl).
During winter, our air is heavily polluted and will slowly try to kill you :P, so think about getting an anti-smog mask and an air purifier. I'm sadly only partially joking here. Those masks are always sold out during the winter months. There are some efforts to fix the problem, but it will take time.
You must be in the lucky "some" that Revolut can lookup automatically.
For people asking how Revolut does KYC:
https://revolut.com/faq/#how-do-i-verify-my-identity
> Some UK users won't need to verify their identity, as we'll do it electronically behind the scenes. UK users should try and top-up their Revolut account with a debit card first. If we can't verify your identity electronically, you will be prompted to do the following:
> Go to the 'Profile' section of the app and select 'Verification and Limits' Next, select 'Verify My Identity.' You will be prompted to take a photo of a valid government issue photo ID and of your face. Please note that we may request a copy of your legal right to remain (e.g. visa, residence permit) if you provide a passport issued in a country outside of the European Union.
https://revolut.com/faq/#why-do-i-need-to-verify-my-identity
> You need to verify your identity in order to top up and use your Revolut account. This policy is in line with a UK banking regulation called 'Know your Customer’ (KYC) and is the process of a business verifying the identity of its clients. It is simply an anti-corruption and fraud measure.
I have a similar thing with Revolut in the EU. You can disable the magstripe, online, ATM and foreign transactions using the app. They'll also use your phone's location to block in-person transactions that aren't near by if you switch that on. (I'm not sure what distance that covers; I assume just down to the city level)
I use a Revolut card for all my international travel as there's no transaction fees or exchange fees and they've just opened the option of having your own bank account on it too, maybe that can help until you get a brick and mortar bank account? https://revolut.com
Hi. You don't need a EU card as yours should work anyway.
In case you don't like the exchange rates being applied, you could try Revolut. Being a multi-currency debit card, you can load dollars in it and exchange them into Euro whenever you like the rate. Or just pay with it. You also immediately get a "digital" debit card which you can use online, but they also post you a real physical one if you like.
If you still want to get a card which you can load with magnificient Eurocash, you can get the classic PostePay in a post office without opening an account.
As far as I know, gift cards in Europe only work in the shops you bought them in, they're not real payment cards. I could be wrong though.
Do you have an Italian address?
I would suggest that you try with Revolut (https://revolut.com)
You get a pre-paid MasterCard (which you can use immediately). You just need to top-up the amount you need. You can try to use your Maestro card for the top-up. If that is not successful, you will be able to top-up via bank transfer.
And you can buy the book from Amazon, Book Depository,....
I also come from Europe and to transfer Euros to Canadian dollars at 0 fee, I use essentially two banks:
Revolut which gives you a master card debit card which you can top up from any european account at your name for free, and then use it to withdraw money for free at any atm.
The other, Number26 is a european bank that has basically the same benefits as revolut. You put money in the account using SEPA, and you can withdraw for no-fee worldwide. The only requirement for N26 is that you have an eligible european real address, at which the card will be sent. Hopefully you have some relatives who can send you the card back to you from Europe. 😊
Let me know if you have any question.
We lucky Europeans 😝
Well, if you have an option to get something like the Revolut card, I'd suggest that if need be. Your phone should work with any SIM card here, it's real simple to set up as well. Though your phone can't be locked to a particular carrier, otherwise it won't work. You'll also never use text messages, just internet via WeChat generally.
EDIT: Just had a look, As a French resident you're able to order a revolut card. It really is a brilliant card and app. My family friend visited last month with it and I saw it for the first time, I was very impressed!
I carry a number, but realise it's probably due to some sort of OCD.
My go to card for cash withdrawls is https://revolut.com/
It's a prepay mastercard (which has slightly better rates than visa), and works via a pretty awesome app.
I second the suggestion of Halifax Clarity for spending, and as a backup for cash withdrawls if paid off immediately. There is some discussion that you should avoid cash withdrawls on a credit card as this can slightly damage your "credit score".
The N&P Gold classic account has a visa debit card, which I use for cash withdrawls if there's an issue with the above. The rates as mentioned on visa aren't quite as good, but we're talking fractions of 1% difference here. You have to pay in £500 a month to keep the account fee free.
Money saving expert have good article on all of this.
I've heard good things about Revolut. They give you a MasterCard debit card that you can top up in various currencies. They claim to use interbank rates for currency conversions and charge no fees. I don't have personal experience, so I'm not sure if there's a catch.
> I'm looking to stop being raped 1.5% of everything I buy in EUR with my credit card.
Bit of an exaggeration, don't you think?

Tried and tested halfway around the planet and i found it to be essential and more reliable than Transferwise.
I'd be chuffed if anyone would use my refferal link to carry on the refferal train. It's; https://revolut.com/referral/jonath6ros!DEC1AR
Don't forget to add your refferal code from the app here afterwards. Cheers 🍻

Revolut is definitely a handy account to have. I've used it for so many offers on this sub that involve £GBP to €EUR transfers (and vice versa). I've also used it a lot in my personal, non-beer money life! It's an account I really recommend having.
I'd love it if someone would consider using my referral link to sign up.
Thanks! :)

Thank you OP.
Revolut is a really useful e-money app that Ive used for years. Ive use my Revolut GBP and Euro accounts for lots of the offers on this sub. I like Revolut’s disposable virtual cards so that after you’ve made an online payment the card number cannot be used again by the service you paid, so its a good security feature.
Another good feature is Revolut’s currency conversion rates. When you exchange currency, most banks will mark up the price so they can profit from the transaction. When you use Revolut, you’re getting the same rate that banks pay to exchange currency (interbank rate).
Here is my referral link, thank you to anyone who uses.

> revolut.com.secure.forsale
This is what tells you it's fake. If it was a legitimate Revolut URL, it would be something like "https://revolut.com/track/xxxxx", with a forward slash coming immediately after the "revolut.com" part of the domain in the URL. However, in this case the second level domain in the URL isn't the second level domain "revolut.com" that Revolut owns, it's "secure.forsale", which is a completely different domain name and could be owned by anyone. They've simply created a subdomain "revolut.com.secure.forsale" on their secure.forsale domain to trick people into thinking it's actually Revolut.
> It also has the secure padlock symbol next to it.
This only means your connection to the site is encrypted with a valid SSL certificate. It doesn't mean the site actually belongs to whoever it claims to be.
I've got a Revolut referral link as well, would really appreciate anyone using it!
I think Revolut is a fabulous app, I've found it incredibly useful for exchanging currencies, travelling, as well as for completing offers on this sub.
I'll throw my referral link into the ring too...

So this will cost you £4.99 to get the physical card delivered but once you have your account you can then start referring people yourself, I got my wife to sign up so there are no issues with people at the same address.
Is also handy with offers that require you to deposit in Euros.
I'm very happy to reciprocate by signing up for something you need a referee for.
Thanks OP!
Honestly, whoever decides to kindly use my link, you would be helping me massively in paying off some of my bills. Thank you in advance 🙏
Thanks OP,
I'd be very grateful if anyone would consider using my code: https://revolut.com/referral/dawnz54vg!FEB1-22-AR
Once you've signed up you will be able to refer others on for the £60 bonus.
The card is useful for spending abroad as no commission, you can also exchange crypto in your account.
Try revolut, I use that now. I just transfer funds from my bank to revolut, the buy crypto using my revolut card. Its mildly more tedious than being able to do it from your bank but not much so.
I've dumped my referral code for you below buy whether you use it or not I'd still recommend revolut.
Thanks for sharing OP
It'd be amazing if anybody wants to use my link.
