I've been using Netflix in Switzerland for over a year now. Just install Mediahint add on for your Firefox browser and voilà!
An other alternative is an add on called Hola! With this you can change the country from US to UK for instance. This way you get different kind of content.

Zurich is one of the most expensive cities on the planet. It's quite hard to get a flat if you don't have a fixed income.
Basic German is good for starters, and everyone speaks English anyways, so no problem with that.
Privacy is paramount in Swiss culture. So we tend to come off as a bit cold to foreigners. Finding friends is hard for expats I've heard.
Anyways, you are young and life is ahead of you but do everything one step at a time. Who knows what'll happen in 8 years.
I use Bitwarden.
They have desktop apps for Windows, Mac and Linux, mobile apps for android and iOS, browser plugins for all major browsers, command line tools and even a web based vault.
Everything is synchronized across all platforms automatically. You can let them do the synchronization for you (thats what I do), or you can even self-host the synchronization server, since the whole project is opensource.
Check them out: https://bitwarden.com/download/
Sorry, that's a little too vague. I'm getting that you just learned you're going to Switzerland and it's apparently not your choice. It would be helpful to know why you're going to Switzerland and for how long.
In any case, though, I don't think there's much to worry about. Switzerland is a safe country, don't do dumb shit and you'll be fine.
As an Argentine national, you may want to read this.
If you haven't read it already, I find that Wikitravel is a fine resource.
Please don't hesitate to post specific questions.
Your English -- written, at least -- seems perfectly fine, by the way.
But to be honest it happens to everybody once and not everybody is a computer nerd.
Anyway, I started using Brave https://brave.com/ with gives me back some privacy and blocks all sorts of shit.
I also heard about this issue on the swiss podcast Espresso. I think the best is not to pay and report it to the police. As I heard they already have dozens of cases and then you just have to wait.
N'hésite pas à utiliser deepl.com pour traduire les pavés dans ce genre. Le résultat est souvent bon et la lecture agréable sauf quand ils écrivent en Suisse-allemand...
It’s cool if you disagree with me politically but I’m not wrong on the issue of privacy. I hope you get over your blind hatred for people who disagree with you. Have a good one. Also here’s a helpful link: https://www.privacytools.io

They make it in Switzerland but work in the US?
You might be thinking about ProtonMail.
Yes tibits is good. In Zürich, I would also recommend Hiltl, unfortunately you won't be there... But you should generally be able to order something vegetarian in most restaurants, there are a lot of veggies here in Switzerland. Also check the menu before you enter a restaurant, it's usually posted somewhere outside the restaurant.
The Ballenberg Museum as I've mentioned before is a great open-air museum that has typical Swiss houses, but I've also come across the wonderfully titled 1913 book
The Swiss Chalet Book; A Minute Analysis and Reproduction of the Chalets of Switzwerland, Obtained by a Special Visit to That Country, Its Architects, and Its Chalet Homes
which can be read and downloaded online here.
Perhaps you have also seen this book already, but it seems like a great resource for what you are looking for. Either way I appreciate your interest in these wonderful houses, as I'm very fond of them myself.
First of all: congrats to this new job, really happy it worked out for you - I say that as one of those asking why you wouldn't apply there already.
Are you considering to make use of reddit itself to allow pseudonymous discussions? Or are you building something new (or check Discourse)? I really crave meaningful online discussions on news articles, but really can't stand the current situation on most sites.
The top 2 features on reddit for me (and I say this as a long time lurker): 1. Sorting of comments (the "crowd" makes sure the best comments are on top) 2. The OP is active in the comments
You probably already did this but:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g188045-Activities-Switzerland.html
The most spots are listed, because they are landmarks. Offcourse it depends on what you want to do. Im personally not a fan of hiking, so it would not help me if someone would recommend this.
What do you WANT to do?
I agree with your point but would vastly prefer the law if it would allow casinos from outside of the country to purchase a license.
Currently this Law does not allow this so I will probably vote against it.
Not entirely sure.
Also I would be intrested in what r/switzerland thinks of it: https://www.strawpoll.me/15664180
You, sir, are in desperate need of some scientific input on this matter. The problems you are listing are not due to overpopulation of this planet but instead consequences of failed policies and distorted economic theory implementation. We need to solve these issues! There is enough evidence out there that this planet can sustain more than the 7.x billion humans that are currently inhabiting this planet. But of course not by putting growth onto our status quo model. Please take a look into the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and I advise everyone interested to take Jeffrey Sachs' introductory course to Sustainable Development on Coursera.org which is taking place right now!
I am using Telegram but would really like to switch to Matrix. Additionally to what all the other messengers can do, Matrix can do secret group chats, is decentral (everyone can have their own federating server or even network), can have secret chats on different devices end to end encrypted and is not owned by a profit company and is 100% open source with known crypto.
Furthermore Matrix allows things like manual key-invalidation, etc.
I really like Telegram, but it's still owned by a company, in the cloud and with weird crypto.
If more of my mates would switch to Matrix too, that would be great =)
Whatsapp supports calling over the internet. I assume you'll get one of those "unlimited mobile internet for a month" sort of deals anyways, right? (Watch out though: they're usually limited nonetheless: after something like 20GB you'll usually have your traffic assigned a lower priority which results in a lot lower speeds).
If you mind the NSA, GCHQ, DGSE and co listening in, maybe use signal (that one supports voice calls as well and has proper end to end encryption) instead of Whatsapp. Links for signal: Android, iPhone
Bitstamp is as reputable as it gets if you do not have an US bank account. I use them together with SEPA payments for my trading and it has worked fine for me.
Edit: And for storage you should check out Electrum bitcoin client. Much more secure than an online wallet without the hassle with the original client.
If you don't store any user data it doesn't really matter where the hosting company is.
For a static website I would recommend something like netlify, it's free and I never had any problems with it.
If you absolutely need php I would go with Hetzner. 2€ / month (https://www.hetzner.com/webhosting/level-1). Probably one of the best hosting companies in europe.
For email hosting : If I were you I would pick another company to host my email. Hosting your website and email in the same place is never a good idea. I think that Zoho still has a free tier that supports email hosting with custom domains.
With 4G you're never going to get the same stability and performance as a wired connection, just throwing that out there. Don't set your expectations too high.
As for what to use, there are a few things you can do to get the best performance:
Find out which carrier is best in your area. This is going to be highly specific to your area so it's unlikely anyone here can help you (unless there are other Redditors living in your hotel). OpenSignal has an app you can download which would usually help you check but it looks like there isn't much data for Grindelwald. I think your best bet is to just buy or borrow a SIM for each of the carriers (Salt, Sunrise, Swisscom) and test it yourself.
Get decent hardware. Don't use a cheap wifi hotspot or modem from the carrier, get a Netgear Nighthawk M1. It's expensive but it's fast as hell and importantly, it can be put into bridge mode and wired to your computer with USB, which improves bandwidth and latency. I've been able to get well over 100Mbps out of this, even in an area with not-great signal.
Get an antenna for the modem. There are a bunch on AliExpress for like 5CHF. You can get them with long cables and some adhesive so you can stick the antenna to your window and run the cable to your computer.
Swiss TV has an online video player where you can watch some of their content, of which some will be in Swiss German.
But I'm not sure if this stuff will work from outside Switzerland. But give it a shot:
If the site is geo-blocking you, you could probably circumvent it by e.g. using a VPN (SurfShark, Mullvad, NordVPN ... etc.) and choosing an exit node in Switzerland.
Check with ExpressVPN support (chat window on their website). Occasionally Netflix and other streaming services block a proxy server but ExpressVPN usually quickly sets up another alternative, or already have others that still work.
They don't advertise which servers work, because those would get blocked quickly, but support will tell you which ones to use.
Sounds shady.
Did you find the ad on airbnb?
Is the guy you're talking to the owner of the apartment or a tenant (i.e. sublessor)?. If he's a sublessor, does he have the approval of the lessor to rent out the apartment?
A rent deposit belongs on a rent deposit account in your name, not airbnb.
> If a claim is made, Airbnb will mediate and collect payment from the guest, as necessary.
No thank you...
Well the pixabay link that this picture is from has the tags Naters and Belap, but maybe the owner can tell you where it was taken.

Zürich is definitely the Swiss IT hub. Lugano, in the other hand, offers (still according to StackOverflow) about the same opportunities as the other "big" cities like Genève or Basel.
Ok, you want something else? I searched for "F-35 grounded" and find many incidents, the most recent being in NL in April 2021. https://www.ecosia.org/search?p=1&q=f-35+grounded
These are excessively complex "multi mission" airplanes that instead of being good at anything are not good at everything.
And they are made by an unreliable ally, the USA.

Do HR recruiting firms [1] have IT jobs?
Or they just "sell" you to some other company?

There are different options. I would recommend to either go:
Bern Airport -> (Bus) Belp Belp -> (Train) Bern Bern -> (Train) Interlaken
or
Bern Airport -> (Bus) Belp Belp -> (Train) Thun Thun -> (Train) Interlaken
Check out the schedule at www.sbb.ch what fits you best. Thun has also nice old city and is worth exploring for a few hours.

I've heard good things about Revolut. They give you a MasterCard debit card that you can top up in various currencies. They claim to use interbank rates for currency conversions and charge no fees. I don't have personal experience, so I'm not sure if there's a catch.
> I'm looking to stop being raped 1.5% of everything I buy in EUR with my credit card.
Bit of an exaggeration, don't you think?
Really? I'm no expert on Korean food but those two look Korean.

Also if you have an android phone and don't mind doing something 'geeky', you could start playing Ingress.
The local community is full of open, friendly people and many of them are Swiss. At least for the "Resistance" faction I can confirm this. You essentially can meet up and play the game for a bit, then go for a beer. Definitely a way to meet new people.
This is pretty accurate (YMMV): http://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/zurich
Tickets: depends. How far? You usually don't need separate tickets when changing from bus to train etc - (except special touristy (up in the mountains for example) ones)
You'd need to buy them on an exchange site or from someone else, for instance on localbitcoins, they'll send it to your wallet application, then you can send it from your wallet to hsi wallet using his bitcoin address (bitcoin addresses look something like this: 1HjXChksfAWJQnMQ8ncbQgfxKxJRNCsWcN ).
Read this for a more in-depth description.
Depending on the item if you order from an European Amazon and deliver to Switzerland, Amazon will remove the original country's VAT and currently not apply any VAT at all (the article is about the Swiss VAT being applied in the future). So if you buy at least some items and have them delivered to France you're paying around 10-20% of VAT instead of 0. This makes no sense to me (perhaps it's only for books and you're not buying books). I even tested this on this book: if I try to ship it to Switzerland the price drops 15.32 -> 14.32.
I personally use ExpressVPN and it works fine (don't use Netflix though) - altough I did stumble on a couple of sites that have IP banned their servers.
And as far as I know Netflix also recently started banning more and more VPN sources - so you should make sure the VPN provider you choose isn't on their blacklist.
You can use this app to search form the least crowded hospital in Lausanne. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.atipik.chuvurgences Exist for Apple too, don't have the link.
I highly advise the Epalinges center for their low waiting time and very helpful staft. 2 min walk from metro station too.
Thanks for the recommendations. It took me some time to look up all the names you mentioned, sorry for a late reply.
I'm a bit of confused about the regions vs. resort names. Hope you don't mind if I ask some follow-up questions? Here's a list I compiled in my head so far:
Are all of these more or less the same area? If I find a room in Interlaken, can I ski in, say, Wengen area?
Does this look about right? Thanks again for your help!
edit: I'll have the whole weekend, so bigger areas are fine, too.
I did the very first section, from Dielsdorf to Baden (well, technically the first section continues a bit longer to Brugg). Was about 13km, 3 and a half hours including a stop for hot chocolate along the way at the Hochwatch.
You start at the Dielsdorf train station and just follow the signs. Here's a similar hike on AllTrails:
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/switzerland/zurich/dielsdorf-to-baden?ref=result-card
Quite late, like 8months late, I stumbled on your question.
For what regards NSG is usually OK with cleanliness (there's someone cleaning at least once a day), staff is there at midday for usual business.
It get busy at usual peak hours: lunch and after work.
Equipment is... okay, loading machines are newer and better quality than usual machines. However, don't expect Technogym equipment.
Coincidentally I found this unofficial app to check for occupancy and capacity trends... handy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodice.one.nsgtiming
So when I turned 18, city hall gifted this book to me. https://www.amazon.com/Institutions-politiques-suisse-LEP-French/dp/2606018338
It's very simplified but it includes a section on political parties. I think it's also interesting in the sense that it's gifted by the state to educate people in how to use their civil rights (I.e. gifting it to people who turn 18).
For my mobile phones I use this app which can be set to auto-block calls from callcenters:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.search.android.search
The app is also available for Apple iPhone.
The Play Suisse app (free registration) offers exclusively swiss TV shows and movies:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.srgssr.playsuisse.tv
I mainly use it for Montreux Jazz Festival concerts, but you could probably find Swiss hidden gems movies in there as well.

My wife has trouble sleeping due to PTSD.
She tried several things and the only one that works is this headphone:
She connects it to an app where a guy reads boring wikipedia pages.
If I may add a few things:
First, never put your money into a product you do not understand. Read this book by Bogle, the founder of Vanguard. It’s a very pleasant read. Make yourself an idea instead of following random stranger advises on the internet. What’s right for them might not be right for you. For instance, the appeal of US based ETFs are the possibility to reclaim withholding taxes (over 100,-) paid on dividends through your tax declaration. Funds offered by banks are usually the worst choice due to high “running costs “. Percentages of fund allocations are highly subjective matters.
Second, Roboadvisors are essentially what a polished car dealership is to a car manufacturer. You’ll pay extra and fees will cut into any potential profits. There are much cheaper alternatives, like Degiro and IBKR. These are also discussed on the poorswiss website. Compare fees!
You already started reading up on the matter, which is great! All I really want to say is, don’t shy away from going the extra mile to a “real” broker.
great! can you please help me to find Greenworks Lawn Mower Battery, here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/Shipping-6000mAh-greenworks-Battery-Lithium-Greenworks/dp/B0B467F9MH/ref=sr_1_19_sspa?crid=3N210NX4I0GLH&keywords=battery%2Bfor%2Blawn%2Bmower&qid=1663138943&sprefix=battery%2Bfor%2Blawn%2Bmower%2B%2Caps%2C276&sr=8-19-spons&th=1
No Problem. If you look up the pro War comments here you see almost none of them are swiss. Probably Russian Troll-Farms who just search for the keyword Ukraine all day and comment their propaganda all over. btw this is not sold out: https://www.amazon.de/Ukrainische-Bestickte-Applikationen-Taktische-Dekorative/dp/B09V32SYTS/ref=sr_1_7?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&crid=36WXY0HVNAEES&keywords=ukraine+patch&qid=1662053864&sprefix=ukraine+patch%2Caps%2C158&sr=8-7
I hate auto renewals too. They often don't clearly state it and you would need to read the fine print. Especially mobile data providers or VPN companies can be very shady when it comes to this. Sometimes they even increase the price for the auto renewal.
NordVPN for example has the auto renewal automatically activated and it costs more than double of what you paid for.
2 years of NordVPN cost 70€. But the auto renewal is >100€ per year. It's so shady.
But legally you can't do much. You can just nicely ask for a refund and hope that they're nice enough to do it.

In addition to what others have said I would recommend "A Concise History of Switzerland" published by the Cambridge University Press. I lean towards academic books but Condé Nast Traveller once recommended the book so it can't be too dry.
I don't know where you're located but I think Amazon carries it in every country.

As implied by other comments: The Eiger north face wasn't conquered until 1938 by Harrer, Voerg, Heckmair and Kasparek. If you want to read more about it I can recommend everybody the Book "Die weisse Spinne" by Heinrich Harrer.

Klaus Schwab (the founder of the WEF) and Thierry Malleret wrote a book called COVID-19: The Great Reset and it became the foundation of various conspiracy theories. In 2016, an official WEF video stated eight predictions about the world in 2030, including the now infamous statement: "You’ll own nothing. And you’ll be happy. What you want you’ll rent, and it’ll be delivered by drone."
Make of it what you want.

To keep track of your wealth (which is not the same as having and managing a budget) I use a very simple app called Whole ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gianmarcodavid.networth ).
It is really great because it is dead simple. Each week (or two weeks or a month, you choose the granularity you want) you enter all your assets and debts and it will nicely summarize everything and display some graphs
Try out this company I found called Custom Lux PCs. They have some really good prices and actually respond to my questions on Instagram. Definitely check with them because they have really fast responses and are super knowledgeable. I was given updates when my build was ready (under 1 week!) and it looked and performs awesome. They can do any spec list so shoot it by them for advice and maybe a better price. They did that for me at least.

What about these? I’ve found Hanes are looser on my husband than the ones we buy here in CH.
Yep. Meiringen Air Base was only recently upgraded (to the tune of CHF 120M) to fit the Swiss F/A-18s, and can apparently hold the entire fleet of them. From more reading I've just done, it appears it's the only still active underground aircraft cavern the Swiss armed forces have, while Buochs is mothballed (would take 2 months to reactivate).
Here's more pics:
Looks like your family's former castle was here https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/6419653417

Oh wow, I had no idea this existed, pretty impressive! Doesn‘t include textures though, so you‘d still have to use AI to patch this together.
The data in the game is based on Bing Maps and openstreetmap.org. I wouldn‘t call it lazy - the entire globe is included in the game so it‘s clear that they couldn‘t spend time on specific areas, outside of those that already have proper photogrammetry data on Bing Maps (which is very US focused).
I think AI does an incredible job most of the time. I live in Basel, whose buildings are entirely generated by the AI, but I can easily make out what‘s where. The campus of Roche and Novartis is easily identifiable, the Messetower is there (doesn‘t look like the real thing, but there is a tower), and the new Messehalle even has that big hole in it. Some things it always fucks up though - it doesn‘t seem to recognize stadiums most of the time (the Joggeli is a flat surface) and train stations are always a mess.
They also really have to tweak the algorithm for mountains and cliffs though, it‘s always too „round“ when it should be sharper.
I'm afraid, if you don't get the proper pronunciation, it won't come across, and that's where your project is doomed to fail, except for the most simple phrases 👀
Are you familiar with the IPA alphabet? If so, someone might perhaps take the time to transcribe it.
Btw: if you happen to obtain some written Swiss-German text, DeepL does an awesome job in translating it into English (not the other way round though), even when it contains many ortographical errors. Here an example.
DeepL does a fantastic job translating Swiss German into English, but you need to knkw how to write Swiss German dialects first, which requires in-depth knowledge of at least one of the hundreds of variations.
Example, even containing orthographic mistakes.
The government of France uses a self hosted Matrix.
If the swiss army care about messaging, Matrix is the solution.
Just a matter of time until someone wants to change thst again when so many new user are there i guess
the Bundeswehr uses a selfhosted Matrix instance btw.
you can use the matrix.org servers and not selfhost, there are way more than one client for using the matrix protocol, kinda bummed no one is mentioning matrix on all those articles :-)
According to the official brochure from fedpol, no. https://www.docdroid.net/eAX8kZX/waffenbroschuere-d-pdf
Non weapons are: Swiss army knife, samurai sword, pepper spray etc.
Then there is an seperate section listing dangerous objects naming hammer, axe, baseball bat, bicycle chain, scissors and screwdriver as examples.
Unless I'm reading it wrong but they are clearly in seperate sections?
Try to meet internationals, because they have an even harder time making friends, but they are always open to friendship (mostly). One great place to start is couchsurfing.com . It is a travel website to host and be hosted, but there are a ton of events/activities and you can get to meet people who are just traveling if you want. I haven't used Meetup.com in a while, but I know that there are many groups depending on your interest (music, sports, games, etc) and people tent to find friends there. Good luck!

This article specifically explains why Blockchain doesn't help make voting more secure (or help with just about anything actually):

>The same for the vote counting. Before blockchain can even get involved, you need to trust that voter registration is done fairly, that ballots are given only to eligible voters, that the votes are made anonymously rather than bought or intimidated, that the vote displayed by the balloting system is the same as the vote recorded, and that no extra votes are given to the political cronies to cast.
>
>Blockchain makes none of these problems easier and many of them harder—but more importantly, solving them in a blockchain context requires a set of awkward workarounds that undermine the core premise. So we know the entries are valid, let’s allow only trusted nonprofits to make entries—and you’re back at the good old “classic” ledger. In fact, if you look at any blockchain solution, inevitably you’ll find an awkward workaround to re-create trusted parties in a trustless world.

Wire it. That's all they support. If you make sure your bank doesn't convert it to USD for you, Schwab will do it at an okay rate (see the bottom of their pricing guide) but I'd recommend, using Revolut or TransferWise for the conversion if possible (probably TransferWise, I've heard of plenty of issues using Revolut with Schwab).
If you stop in Andermatt around eating time, there's a good falafel place called Toutoune that I recommend. Even if you don't like falafels their other food is great too. Not too far of a walk from the train station and you'll get to see the town on your way there.
>The remarkable state of affairs that old people are being advised something completely wrong has become possible because in recent years and decades, consciously or unconsciously, the scientific consensus on which at least the better educated part of the population used to be able to agree has disappeared. This consensus has been deliberately destroyed by a systematic gutting of science education on the one hand and the admission and promotion of superstition-oriented parascience on the other. Instead of the findings of science, the primacy of intuition and feeling now reigns - right across all strata of the population.

How right you are, Kachelmann.
The only anime film I've seen in Switzerland is when a private citizen rented the cinéma in Montreux to show the first Boku No Hero Academia film.
IDK if Deutschschweiz is luckier on that account but yeah we don't really get anime films here. Stand-alone films like Ghibli, sure, but films based on anime series? Nope.
I'd have loved to see the KNY film on the big screen as well though wouldn't have felt safe going in the current situation anyways. I'm waiting for a good quality version to be on nyaa.si.
Afaik the certificate needs to be EU-compatible. Maybe it's best to download the check app and see if your certificates are detected as valid.

Revolut Metal Plan for everything and everywhere, no other bank in Switzerland will give you that much features for that price. https://revolut.com/referral/damienul9x!MMO CSX with the Black MasterCard option at CHF 3,95.-/month is a good choice too.

Besides, it offers a fiat-to-crypto onramp option - you can buy cryptocurrencies with a VISA or Mastercard through their third-party partners’ integration.
u/bulldog-sixth is correct -- the receiving address of my Wise USD account is only in New York, and for my AUD acct it's only in Australia. I just opened an EUR account, that one's in Belgium which would allow me to try requesting a SEPA transfer from my company, wc is the solution somebody suggested in another comment.
u/plorrf -- This link explains that opening a CHF account, which is the only Wise account based in Switzerland, can yes, send money as you have been doing for ages, but it cannot receive money. Which is why it wouldn't do me any good to open one; the site wouldn't provide any account details for receiving money from other banks anyway. I hope that clears the misunderstanding.
I have been told off by my compatriots that I shouldn't spread the bad naming of lake Geneva ; it is actually called lake Leman, but many people use lake Geneva which designates just the portion around the eponymous "village".
To answer your question, no, not many. In my ~4 years here, I've seen about a couple per year. And what surprises me is that there are a lot of lightnings but very few thunders. I think it's due to them being kinda far, on the other side of the lake, in the mountains. I have yet to hear series of crackling thunders like I used to back in northern Romania, or like you can hear on https://www.noisli.com/
This link is helpful when booking https://matrix.itasoftware.com/
You can find all possible routings on this site (maybe another airline or with a stopover). The only downside is that you cannot book with them. Sometimes I find very good fares which are not available for purchase on the usual websites, but only via the airline or a travel agency.
https://matrix.itasoftware.com/ Powerful, but only for finding the flights not for booking them (you can specify departure / arrival times, enter multiple Airports etc..) After you have your flights use skyscanner, expedia or the airline website to book your trip.

https://en.mapy.cz/zakladni?x=9.2440466&y=47.0888090&z=14 is also cool. I can see there types of elevators (cable car, skii elevator or transfer of goods)
I just got back from there and stayed in this place. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/185798 it was absolutely beautiful and one of the best deals youll find in switzerland. It was only about 15 mins from lucerne and 45 from zurich. The people who on the house left us with many tips ands suggestions that made our trip a blast. Also, we climbed a mountain called Pilatus and noticed there is a hotel at the top of the Alps there called Bellvue which would be a pretty unique experience.
Strangely enough, it says "Swiss Post" but when I showed it to the post office clerk she said that I doesn't look like a Post label but that she'll look into it.
The other thing is Asendia which I have no idea what that is.
DHL already told me it's not theirs. I have no idea anymore... I just wanted a goddamn book lol
> offer their own MOOC-platform
Or joining the already existing open-source alternative edX. No need to reinvent the wheel, Stanford already did it.
Here is a google translated version. I can look for an article in French later if you want.
I've been UPC customer forever.
Speed has always been as advertised or above (yup!).
They regularly upgrade my connection to a better one without adjusting the price (you just have to refuse all their upgraded packages when they nag).
Downtimes are very rare, I work from my desk so I definitely spot them when they happen, but it's really every 3 months at most and for seconds/minutes at most.
Their support is free and always helpful, though it's not based in Switzerland which sort of annoys me.
(on the 600Mbit plan) this is a result I just got on ovh.net: https://www.nperf.com/r/3228175277353274-8wK6NUvh
>Quad9
BTW they are re-incorporating in Switzerland which is great towards their privacy goals: https://www.quad9.net/news/blog/quad9-public-domain-name-service-moves-to-switzerland-for-maximum-internet-privacy-protection/
To be correct, 1.1.1.1 is hosted by Cloudflare (https://1.1.1.1/dns/), but 9.9.9.9 is hosted by quad9 which is supported by IBM and others (https://www.quad9.net/about/). So it's not the same, but both are good and definitely more private then google or any other public dns server.
What is your Speedtest at Swisscom?
I have just got Sunrise 1GB/s fiber and seems to work pretty good. Actually I am at a real speed of 500MB/s in both ways. So that's maybe the their marketing. (2x500MB/s = 1GB/s)
But to be fair they are actually working on optimising my connection at the moment. Here is my Speedtest (the Download rate is a bit smaller 'cause other devices are running at them moment too) https://www.speedtest.net/result/8105369490
Here's the list of countries WhatsApp classifies as "Europe". Switzerland is there.
So we're governed by this policy.
But I think there's a bit of confusion in your post. It's not that we're subject to the same policy as everyone else but EU law prevents parts of it from taking effect, it's that Facebook has a different policy for Europe that complies with European law.
somenthing like the 5 sites onthis page: http://www.pennyroll.com/2011/06/top-5-website-to-make-extra-money-online/

I used huginn to create watchers for products I wanted to buy in the next few weeks/months. As soon as the product has a significant price drop (let's say 10%) I received an email.
Recently I found out, if you add a product to your wishlist, Digitec notifies you via email if the price drops.
