there was a spotlight programme on the other night - kinda highlighted her lies and collusion with the DUP in orchestrating the pulling out of workers for their "safety"

and that would be the tip of the iceberg given what a biased shit heap that council is
>Holy Cross: Untold Story' book by Ann Cadwadaller
There is some incredible video footage from the day too, as weird as that sounds to say. I think because it was so recent, and such footage is available, it hits harder. Looking at old pictures in B&W doesn't have the same effect on us.
PS: Found that book on Amazon. Quite pricy these days.. https://www.amazon.com/Holy-Cross-Untold-Anne-Cadwallader/dp/0954486765
Just out of a few long stints in hospital, best thing that kept me going was getting the remote for the TV (if yours is hard-wired to the wall and only has channel up/down and volume up/down).
Get the remote linked below, get some friends or family to get a bunch of series or films on a USB stick and fire it in the back of the TV. Also remote means you can access TV guide and plan what to watch later, instead of just clicking through each channel hoping to catch something!

Hope this helps.
I dont get why people keep redfining the meaning of a hard border, its in the dictonary ffs.
> a border between countries that is strongly controlled and protected by officials, police, or soldiers, rather than one where people are allowed to pass through easily with few controls.
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/hard-border
Think I'll stick with the dictionary defination rather than some anon on the web.
My dad bought one of these immersion heater booster things. Once the time runs out it automatically turns itself off. He thinks it's the greatest thing invented!
When I'm about to die of heart disease at 40 caused by obesity I will point at this post as where it all went wrong for my waistline. Just bought 2.

Christ almighty I might not even make it to 40. Just saw this in 'what people also buy'.
Conveniently, the preceding issues with the app have never been mentioned on any news outlet. People are being absolutely fecked over by a bottleneck of an app.
Having a gander at the app reviews tells a sorry state of affairs: COVID Cert NI on Google Play
she wrote a pretty interesting book about her life in Northern Ireland, dealing with her mum's mental health and meeting the IRA bomber who killed her dad. Definitely worth a read.
Is self-promotion allowed? I am a independent game developer in my spare time. Only released one game to date on the google play store. It's a unique take on snooker/pool, it's free to download, no microtransactions etc. but does have some ads (I know ads can be annoying but you have to try to make money somehow!). Here is the link if anyone is interested.
Have you had a look at Meetup.com? There's lots of stuff on there happening in Belfast, for loads of different interests. Basically a lot of people in the same position as you, who want to make new friends! I recently joined a book club through it - would invite ya but it's girls only! Hope you find something.
I use Revolut. It works like a top-up credit card. You load it with GBP using an app then convert to whatever currency you want at the market rate. You get the best possible EUR-GBP rate and there are no fees (until you start spending very large amounts). I used it in Belgium recently and it was amazing. It's also contactless.
Woah, easy there lad.
You're going to use that there dark encryption? Only kiddie fiddlers and terrorists use the encryption, and you don't look like no terrorist.
Shell out for a VPN, I can recommend Private Internet Access. Really easy to setup and cheap enough.
Based on article from March where he called out Twenty One Pilots for glamourising terrorism.
Funny thing is iHeartRadio has an article titled "Irish politician says Twenty One Pilots balaclavas glamorize terrorism"
Depends, some of the people I've worked with have had a years conversion and been taken on as a graduate developer and had no issue.

What is key is your ability to learn and passion to learn. If you do a conversion course and have a good portfolio site or GitHub with projects that will put you ahead of 90% of people coming out of these courses. Also go to meet-ups on meetup.com and network, good way to not only learn but potentially get some paths to an interview.
If you root your phone, you can install adblocking at the system level, which even blocks ads in apps (though really just blatant ads directly from advertising companies, not so much companies running sites and serving advert images FROM their OWN site). If you don't have a rooted phone and are happy to just block ads in your browser, then I think firefox for android will let you install adblocking extensions now, though I don't think you can configure the extension like you can on desktops. Don't quote me on that, though. Try it and see, I guess. If not, then the Brave should work for you.
I did the calculations as a matter of interest. Ireland's deficit as a % of GDP would double. ROI would need a surplus of over 4% to take on NI and have an overall deficit of 3% which is unlikely to happen.
With 20 years of growth of 3% per annum North and South the ROI would only need a surplus of .5% of GDP to take on NI's £11bn subsidy and have an overall deficit of 3% of GDP.
So without a concerted effort to improve NI's fiscal position or get ROI's fiscal status into ridiculously good territory, unification wouldn't be viable for 20+ years.
A lot of the North Down coast, specifically Ballyholme Bay and on round to Orlock (Portavoe Beach) and Donaghadee Harbour.
Top tip from me: Always check tide times and wind strength. These will directly impact your experience.
e.g.: Ballyholme Bay tide time and Ballyholme Bay wind readings.
And put the rest of your 5k towards insurance.
You want something that's gonna do you through uni I'd imagine, so go
2010 on Less than 80k Petrol - for less maintenance First car so 1.6 max engine size for insurance German/Japanese or Ford/Volvo for reliability Do not, I repeat do not, but a French or Italian car unless you want to get to know it intimately over your course of ownership!
There's a good selection of cars on Gumtree, Don't go to the dealers!
There's a 2013 Punto on Gumtree for less than 4K but they're a bit of a dose so I wouldn't recommend.
If you travel semi-regularly the best thing to get is a card like revolut. I got one a while back and I'll swear by it.
It's £5 for the initial delivery but the rates for every currency seem to be better than that which you'd get on the high street. For example, right now if I were to add €100 to my card I would have to exchange £88.66. Whereas with the post office you would need to exchange £91.21. There are no charges on ATM withdrawals up to £200 per calendar month and you can lift money abroad. You can also pay directly with the card instead and it all gets synced up with a phone app that lets you keep track of spending.
Plus with the removal of data roaming charges in the eurozone, if you run out of money at the end of the holiday just load up the app, add what you need and lift it from the nearest ATM with no charges.

EDIT - This guy knows, http://audioboo.fm/boos/1785136-caller-attacks-nolan-you-lost-the-plot
So I wrote a book about professional wrestling in Northern Ireland, and I guess this is just a blatant plug for it.
it covers year by year 1932 to 2002
was researched through old newspapers as well as speaking to over 25 retired wrestlers, referees, MCs, promoters, etc
includes reflections and insight from Fit Finlay, "The Amazing Kung Fu" Eddie Hamill (who wrestled on World of Sport), Darkie Arnott (Ireland's oldest living wrestler; first match 1950) plus many more
and it is definitely the only book out there on this very very niche topic.
In all honesty I'm pretty proud of it, the old wrestlers really seem to appreciate it, so just wanted to share and hey it's at least something a bit different anyway.
It's available over on Amazon, and I originally wasn't going to include link as that felt like next level shameless advertising but here we are: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0928BDZGM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_Y24FAQZ2JPW927CBA5X2
Use it and have been user for it for a good two/three years now. They've literally thousands of servers and I moved over from Private Internet Access, which in itself is still good, but this ones cheaper and not based in one of the 14 eyes countries.
That said, PIA are the only ones to be tested in a court of law who have absolutely no logs of customers. You still have to trust said company.

I use a dash cam for every journey, even a 5 minute trip to the shop. I was in a crash a few years ago which was not my fault, didn't have a dash cam, took 2 years to get cleared up in court (100% liability for them), but this dash cam footage almost certainly would have cut out a lot of the bullshit towards a resolution a lot sooner.
Here's what mine looks like (slightly worse quality due to rendering and gfy'd): https://gfycat.com/TightDeafeningHarlequinbug
I have a dock and charger for my phone in my car, I just installed DailyRoads Voyager on my phone and I just hit record every time I start the car. Takes about 7 seconds of setup before my journey but it's worth it. My car streams all my music via bluetooth even when the dashcam is running, it's perfect.
I'm still using a Samsung Galaxy S4, it'll look even better with newer phones. But that's still pretty great quality IMHO, and doesn't cost £100.
Wrong. Poll after poll on this subreddit has proven this wrong time after time.
The most recent political poll was conducted a year ago and asked people who they are going to vote for in the assembly election. Alliance is joint with Sinn Fein as the top response, with Greens following after: https://www.strawpoll.me/12133707/r
Reddit has a fairly young and liberal demographic, so that result is zero surprise.
There are few UUP and DUP supporters on this subreddit, I think it's fairly clear that many of those from a unionist background that are also redditors are the sort that would vote for Alliance or Greens.
Previous polls that asked about people's community backgrounds showed slight edge of Catholics, which isn't surprising considering that many Southerners also hang around on this subreddit.
How did you figure that one out? Sweden and Finland are both modern industrial countries but both have around 70% forest cover or more. [http://gabrielhemery.com/2011/02/28/european-countries-and-their-forest-cover/] Furthermore, Ireland has a tiny population compared to its total land mass so its not like it would have needed to clear significant amounts of forest for industry or even agriculture. Continental nations like Austria have much denser populations compared to Ireland (and they also underwent the process of industrialisation) but still have almost 50% forest cover. Another point is that Ireland has one of the best climates for growing trees in all of Europe and can grow trees at a faster rate than almost any other European country. [http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0264837709001501]
The cleared land is largely unused or underutilized now; its either excess agricultural or marginal land not suitable for agriculture which is why both governments have sought to invest in considerable afforestation. In the Republic they've been more successful, increasing forest cover from an all-time low of under 3% after the war to over 11% today, more than tripling forest cover. In NI things have moved slower because of the conflict and so we've only got around 6% forest cover today. The fact that both governments are looking to increase forest cover so significantly is testament to the fact that the land didn't need to be cleared of forest to being with. It was simply a result of the unsustainable exploitation of the islands' resources by the settler population.
Honestly, not massively sure but the app I used to pass my bike theory gives you the option to select NI for practice questions.
This one helped me pass my car and bike theory first try so im vouching for it.

TL;DR
If you have enough time you could go up to the coast, or visit the Giants Causeway. Heres a good list of stuff you can do - http://wikitravel.org/en/Belfast Lately Belfast has gone a bit Titanic-crazy with the anniversary coming up, you could go see the Interactive Titanic Exhibition down by the Docks if youre interested in that kind of thing.
It's a bribe. The DUP's government is being paid in exchange for political support. If the DUP weren't supporting the Tories, they would not be getting the money. That's a bribe.
From the Cambridge English dictionary:
>to try to make someone do something for you by giving them money, presents, or something else that they want
How does this definition not fit the arrangement between the DUP and Tories?

I think a picnic/bbq in Botanic is the easiest way to cater for so many people.
Also, i'd be interested in going go-karting if people are up for that between botanic gardens and the pub.
Just get yourself a throwaway account with Protonmail or similar, use it to setup a Mega account, host the files there and then mass email the links and a brief description of what is contained in them to the emails given for the news outlets of your choice. Protonmail because you can setup and account with it that doesn't have a backup email linked, so even if it does get compromised theres nothing in it linking back to you.
Do this from reliable VPN of your choice, connected via a country that is outside of 14 Eyes jurisdiction if you're paranoid. Mullvad would be a good shout, you can get an account with them via Bitcoin and without giving them any personal information.
I've the Geocaching app on my phone. There's loads of them around the country, even in random spots in Fermanagh. Belfast is riddled with them.
...though I've never bothered to look for them myself. Imma lazy.
Just remember if you're going to take anything out of them to return something of equal interest/worth in.
> Oh yeah, because sectarian tensions between nationalists and loyalists....
So those tensions are only sectarian when its based on religion? That's a really outdated interpretation of the definition of sectarianism.
The Oxford English includes "other groups".
Therefore sectarianism can be based on something other than religious denomination; such as political/cultural differences. Which you seem to state yourself but have now backtracked on.
High Church Anglicanism was considered 'Catholic': http://www.wikiwand.com/en/High_church. In the context of Ulster Unionism, 'Roman Catholic' was equated with the native Irish and the threat they posed to the British Protestant colonists.
I use photopea as my photoshop replacement. It's basically a clone of the core photoshop features and UI. I find it easier to use than GIMP since I'm used to the interface.

> Also is it just the standard browsing history? Cause if so then I feel bad for folks who've not caught onto Incognito mode yet.
Incognito mode will do absolutely fuck all to hide your browsing from your ISP and ergo the government.
Incognito basically stops recording your history from the browser on your device. Your ISP can still see and log (now legally have to) everything you are accessing.
Here's why if you want to stop it, the very least you'll need is a vpn:
For these routes I would recommend checking out Bird's Eye View in Bing Maps (the only time I would ever recommend using Bing). You can usually zoom in very close to find out accessible routes.
For example, here's the road that goes past Kinnegar.
Recently, Belfast won an award for its nightlife. This seemed strange to me, and to many of you in this subreddit, considering our outdated and restrictive licensing laws. Compared to the continent, and indeed, the rest of the UK, the strict 2am closing times seem an anachronism. Tourists are frequently shocked to discover that their evening must finish almost before it even begins in their own countries.
Today the DSD unveiled their consultation document, which includes, amongst other things, proposals for amending the opening times for licensed premises. While, admittedly, consultation responses are not binding on policy decisions (and the DSD is headed by that notorious killjoy, Nelson McCausland), it is a small way at least to make your voice heard in the debate that will take place over the next few months. Take five minutes, complete their online survey, and give NI the chance to have the nightlife we deserve.
Amazon, pretty sure.
EDIT: here
Not really. I could never find a decent one to buy without forking out a whole load of cash and then configuration of that style of router isn't what a normal consumer would do. Its like most consumer goods its impossible to tell whats good and whats terrible these days.
So I never found one that supported things I needed. So I just built one instead. Its actually running on a Rasberry PI as the main platform so the hardware cost me like £30. But I work in that industry so its a few hours work to achive something like that.
I needed IPv6 support and some very specific VPN releated stuff which basic routers don't have. Or at least not at the time when I built it.
To put it in perspective though. Its been running flawlessly for like ~550 days since the last power outage (house got partially rewired). I think I have only had to reboot it about 2-3 times in the last 5+ years or so.
I also get a bunch of cute bandwidth graphs and usage and outage logs mailed to me every morning as a side effect :)
It also has certain other advantages like it automatically blocks loading adverts and a whole pile of advert tracking system in use etc.. it runs a thing called pi hole https://pi-hole.net/
Glorious master race here (have a PS3 as well).

Thinking about getting CS:GO but too much to play for now after the Star Wars humble bundle! Seriously, even if you have a shit PC these games will run:

It depends what you're after. If it's the most recent edition of a text then there's little chance of getting it any cheaper than RRP - profits on text books are pretty tight. If you're happy with an older edition, try Amazon or AbeBooks. You can get text books for a few quid, sometimes pence, plus postage. It's worth having a look at what the newest editions of a textbook have added compared to the earlier ones.

Lighten up/go easy with the offensive language. Head more toward charm offensive or something, you're not going to convince anyway of your/our way of thinking when you're rude.
Hasn't the end goal always been a united Ireland for all? The way you're getting on is going to make them think 'United Ireland for all' isn't a sincere wish.
As someone who owns a bass or two, and similar to yourself, I've been asking myself the very same question as of late. Saw the odd advert on gumtree (https://www.gumtree.com/musicians-wanted/belfast) but not taken it any further. Mr Ego might just take a bashing.
The below link is for an ad on Gumtree, mentioning FYI Client Services throughout but with the MacaMedia image. If you look at the other ads that have been posted by the same people, you can see loads of ads from across the UK who I assume are part of this pyramid scheme under different names...

We're in the future- there's no need to settle for a fort.
Cardboard is ridiculously strong, especially if you glue together layers like marine ply alternating the direction of the grain and once you varnish it it's pretty much invincible.
Get yourself a hot glue gun, a cutting mat and a few boxcutters. Sit down with something like sketchup and pepakura or similar but anything you can find or make a 3d model of, you can make.
Make yourself a cardboard mech suit. Or a full size goat statue. Or a lifesize Johnny 5.
Unfortunatley moving image wasnt an option when i was at school but its a brilliant option! For 3D animation, Maya educational licences are free, Blender is always free and worth learning too!
If you decide to get the adobe creative suite for 2d animation, photoshop, illustrator and video editing its 16 quid a month for the student subscription. For a free photoshop alternative that runs in a brower without install check this outhere
For 3D modelling/sculpture check out zbrushcoremini or sculptris which are free and wonderful if you have a digital tablet/wacom. For a cool digital sculpture app that runs in a browser without install check this out! here
Check out opentoonz or pencil2d if you want to do digital handdrawn animation. Blender interestingly can also do 2D illustrstion/animation and digital sculpture.
Above all the biggest thing that is hard to beat is just draw and doodle, cheaper paper is better so youre not afraid to make mistakes or tear things up and start again! super important for storyboarding, design and animation!
I picked up Roku players for most of the TV's in my house. They are cheap and give you good access to a range of channels/services with very little hassle. You won't get everything, but with access to the likes of Now TV and other services it's a good option.
If you can try one of those with an Ethernet connection to see if it’s a problem with the WiFi on the router.
Changing channels my be a solution if you are getting interference. If you have a laptop download this and scan your house. https://www.metageek.com/products/inssider/index-2.html
Hi mate, I want to also chime in on the opinions here about programming. You could teach yourself enough to get a junior developer job within a year if you studied diligently enough (few hours each evening).
Northern Ireland is lacking in people who are trained in digital skills and there's many jobs to be filled. Below are some resources you can use to self-teach, I think web development is a good entry to programming as it's fun to build stuff you can see.
FreeCodeCamp
100+ Free resources for learning Full Stack Web Development
The key really is applying your knowledge, learn the stuff and then once you know how to build a basic website - contact a few local charities or businesses and offer to do them a website for free/cheap. If you have a small portfolio of sites you've built you can use this as evidence that you know how to code.
All the best, feel free to PM me if you want any other help on this topic.
I used a rebranded version of IPTV smarters from my provider and it was a bit naff in interface.
He moved onto a licenced version of XCIPTV and it's so much amazingly better and more intuitive
If your provider provides you with a m3u list - and access to a EPG, you can try out Perfect player as well
I got a calming plug in for my dog at the start of the month honestly when i left the house she would get really worked up and between alittle possitive reinforcement with treats and the plug in it has worked really well i can now leave her up til 3-4 hours and shes ok.

You are 100% correct - the magna carta in verbatim can barely be applied to anything in a modern context. It actually did very little for the average person at the time - it was really more of an insurance policy for the nobility, hence why nearly every clause refers specifically to the barons or knights as oppose to their peasant subjects.
The spirit of the document in how it guarantees basic liberty and freedoms can however be applied to the modern day across the board. I actually read a really good book about the year it was written over lockdown - Realm Divided - An easy read and super fascinating for anyone interested in Medieval history.
I'm using this book as a starting point. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Irish-Beginner-Intermediate-Course/dp/1444102354/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1473719599&sr=8-4&keywords=teach+yourself+irish
It's quite good at covering the basics, but it's very expensive on Amazon. I was lucky enough to find a copy in a bookshop in England on sale.
One thing I will say is that the Irish alphabet is quite tricky to get to grips with at first and the book skims through it quite quickly so I recommend using another source- there are plenty of websites and YouTube videos which will help with this.
Does it need to be 99.9%? I bought this one off Amazon a few months back but it's only 70%.
It's worth it for the wealth of compatibility mate, just look at the price of everything on Steam compared to on console. Then the steam sales are unbelievable. Build an ITX pc rather than an ATX, they are much smaller. Just go for an ITX motherboard and case and a modular power supply so you only have to pack in the cables you need.

If you have an android device, Beginner Irish app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shex.beginnerirish) seems to be a good starting point/introduction to basic Irish words. It makes sure you remember the words you learn and you get to scroll through all the words you've learnt as you go by. Pretty neat.
To make Chinese curry sauce;
Fry a diced onion, add flour and curry powder to make a roux, add water + chicken stock powder + tiny bit of soy sauce + tiny bit of sugar. You'll have to adjust the stuff to get it to taste how you want, and you can add 5 spice/ginger/garlic etc. But thats the recipe we settled on.
Make that, fry a bunch of fish fingers, and you can make a katsu-esque curry in the time it takes to cook the rice!
Black bean sauce is also piss easy same with sweet and sour but I don't like it, I haven't cracked salted chilli yet tough.
If you're after an easy and fairly humourous read I'd highly recommend Feckin Book of Irish History. It's a very broad overview and is a good starter.

What I did to solve humidity problem in my house was to install PIV system, this one to be precise. I paid £400 for it and installed it myself in about 2-3 hours.
It's a miracle machine, within few days decreased humidity in my house by about 20%. No more wet windows in the morning. And it uses only like 10W of power so costs almost nothing to run 24/7. Now that it's colder outside I don't even air out my house for weeks, there is no need to now that I have this system.
Ask housing exec to have one fitted. My friend had mould problem in his housing exec house (less severe than yours though) and they installed it for him free of charge, which fixed the issue for him.
This is a system that will keep your humidity in check once you resolve current problem. They need to get rid of existing severe mould and its source first. Once that's done, definitely get PIV system.
Here is 3 min video explaining how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEk362tNQHI
Yeah and white people have done really shitty things too should we deport all of them?
Your argument could easily be used for any population or group. I'm sure a small percentage of people who were saved from cancer also turned out to be rapists and murderers.
Should we stop all cancer treatments?
The link between a rise in crime and import of refugees had been debunked multiple times and even the harshest ones say it's not statistically significant.
Oh and you're still a racist piece of shit.
Patient access, on the splash screen it says in partnership with the NHS so assuming it's their own purpose built app for GP care.

You haven't really said what style of comic your looking for but Celtic Warrior: The Legend of Cú Chulainn is a great one
I was told that Lost Lives is a must read for anyone who wants to read not about the political narratives but all of the human lives which were sadly lost during the Troubles
It is.
I may be mistaken but I think Snapseed has this filter. It’s generally quite a nice photo editing app (although haven’t used it for a while!)

So asking a question is the start of a conversation then?
I get the feeling you don't have many friends the way you talk to people, you might need this link too. Good luck.

Learnt something new today:
Sow your wild oats. If a young man sows his wild oats, he has a period of his life when he does a lot of exciting things and has a lot of sexual relationships. Source
So basically the dad's saying he hopes you're past the stage of fucking around. (Assuming he was meant to have put oats instead of oaks, given the amount of typos)
