The price has been dropping constantly, only around 300 US atm:
https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-mi-note-3
I like this strategy, they're essentially pulling the Redmi Note 4/5 series down to low-midrange and filling the gap with an upper-midrange Mi Note 3 series. The new king is the Mi Mix series.
It's basically useless for Europe with those bands, though. Headphone jack is also missing. But a really great phone according to reviews.
Just gonna throw this out there. I don't think you'll see too many phones with the SD660 available in North America that /r/android will get excited about, for the same reason you didnt see any last year. here's the phones that featured an SD 652. The ones available in the US were the Alcatel Idol 4s, the LG G5 SE, Zenfone 3, and LeEco Le 2, and the Galaxy A9. (EDIT: Ah the Xperia X had the 650, and the reception was rather lukewarm here because it didn't have the 820).
The only one that was really in the "best midrange" conversation last year was the Idol 4s, (the idol 5 went with the SD 625) but even then, it was competing directly with the OnePlus 3. At that price point, why settle for a SD 652 on an Alcatel when you can get the SD820 on OnePlus's clean software.
With the Moto G with the 625 coming in at the $250-300 range, and the OnePlus 5 with a 635 at $450, there's certainly room for a $350-$400 SD 660 phone to get excited about, but I'm doubtful any OEM is going to try to push something out in that niche, especially if it can get so close to their top of the line flagship performance. I was hopeful for the Moto X4, but we all know how that turned out.
It doesn't look too bad for AT&T according to this but apparently Wi-Fi calling and AT&T's Advanced Messaging are not available? Not exactly sure how that works.
This phone has Omnivision camera. It is the worst company when it comes to camera hardware. Literally even the cheapest Xiaomi phones have Sony or Samsung, just like the rest of the phones in the world. I have no idea why Xiaomi chose this camera hardware. If you can return it and get regular Note 10 or Note 10 5G (or even Pro), go for it!
Learn more about the camera here: https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-redmi-note-10s
Chinese market versions overwhelmingly still have English as selectable language, though not default.
The more pressing issue would be network incompatibility as numerous countries use different frequency bands.
Yeah it's not on their whitelist, so they won't let VoLTE and wifi calling work on it. Plus looking at this compatibility chart, it doesn't support a lot of the US cellular bands. The only US 5G band it supports is band n41, which is a T-Mobile 5G band. It cannot use 5G on AT&T and Verizon. Next time you want to buy a grey market phone, please do your research on carrier compatibility before buying it.
If you want to stay on AT&T, you'll probably have to get a new phone. Otherwise if you're willing to switch carriers, you'll have the most compatibility on T-Mobile, since they'll let any phone use their VoLTE and wifi calling if it supports those. I used a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 on Mint Mobile/T-Mobile for around two years, that phone literally only had two T-Mobile LTE bands, but coverage was decent and VoLTE worked. And before anyone asks, yes I was aware of this before buying it and intended to only use it on the T-Mobile network.
So looking at the US you can get the Ulefone Note 7 for $61 from TeckniStore:
https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-ulefone-note-7
Then you can get a $5 a month price plan from Hello Mobile:
https://hellomobile.com/register/plans
This gives you Unlimited Calls and Text plus 500mb Data.
That works out as $7.54 a month. So cheaper than your landline and has the benefit of being able to take it anywhere with you plus will solve all your issues with needing a smartphone.

I think that it will work but not very well. If I am understanding that website correctly, it only supports 3/14 bands for LTE.
This is the fastest POCO currently, but not best or fastest Android phone. Currently phones with the Snapdragon 888 are fastest, also look at the storage to be UFS 3.1. Use https://www.kimovil.com/ to compare and search for the phones.
depends on your carrier but yeah, doesnt cover all the US 4g bands, so going to be a pass from me unless they make a model that supports all the TMo bands.
removable battery days are gone.
i made a search on kimovil: +81000 antutu and removable battery:
https://www.kimovil.com/es/comparar-moviles/f_min_d+antutuBenchmark.81000,fe_battery-removable
so the chance of this phone having removable battery is almost inexistent
If you're willing to shell out an extra €50-100 The Mi Mix 2 and 2S Global version covers B4. One of their biggest selling points was having global coverage.
Here's a list of all Xiaomi phones and their coverage.
Using the IMX362 camera on the back?
Wikipedia: IMX362 12 MP (1/2.55") 1.4 μm RGB Yes (Dual Pixel) November 2016
Phones using the IMX362: https://www.kimovil.com/en/list-smartphones-by-lens-model/sony-imx362-exmor-rs
I'd buy a used pixel 4a 5g (or new 4a non 5g) for like $350 it's the best quality photos you can take besides the last few iphone models, and your cheapest/probably only <1 year old option at your sub $400 budget
Also xiaomi/poco etc. Chinese phones just don't work in the US don't bother with them they only use like half the bands on only a few carriers and you'll have bad service everywhere outside of town
you can check phone carrier frequencies here: https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker choose your phone, make sure it's US version, then scroll down to your carrier
you can also compare phone photos here: https://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=4&idPhone1=8720&idPhone2=9896
I have a Pixel 3a and it works perfectly fine on the MTN network.
You can check https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/ZA to see what bands your operator has and then make sure the phone you want supports it.
A little, but it's still highly limited: https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/xiaomi-poco-f2-pro
I'd still say: You'd have to be crazy to buy a Poco in the US, but we have already established that you are. ;-)
You should be able to check what bands your carrier uses in your area and compare with the supported bands. The F2 Pro supports band 4 while the F1 didn't, which may a mayor improvement if you're lucky.
The 5g modern is still effectively useless in the US as well, it's even quite limited in most of Europe.
The higher priced Mi 10s support even a few more bands than the Poco, but still not quite enough for the US - but, again, maybe just the ones you need in Houston.
Frankly, I sadly wouldn't recommend getting any Xiaomi phone in the US, but if you're determined, check the supported bands first!
I found that using https://www.kimovil.com/en/ is a great resource for finding which phones have band capability for the network of your choosing. I ended up purchasing the Mi Mix 3 for use with t-mobile, it is missing one band (71).
https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-oneplus-6-cn
The Indian version is A6000. Go down to connectivity section in the link. For USA A6000 model has 10/14 bands. For most of the carriers it has 3/4 bands.
The Moto Z uses the IMX214, same as the Nexus 6, OP1, and 2015 Moto G, and it's still among the best smartphone cameras I've used.
I think this question was asked many times. The Sprint 5G network has already been shutdown awhile ago. Yes, the V50 will work fine on 4G LTE for many, many years until 4G LTE gets shut down but I don't think 4G LTE will get shut down anytime soon. As long as the Sprint V50 phone is unlocked, then it will work great on any network that has 4G LTE.
The Sprint LG V50 will work exactly the same as a 4G LTE smartphone. I think people have a big misunderstanding with what's going on with Sprint and T-Mobile. T-Mobile is shutting down the Sprint 5G network, so all Sprint 5G phones will no longer be able to get 5G because the technology that was used is different... However, people totally forget that it is also a 4G LTE phone too, the LG V50 has nearly all the SAME 4G LTE network frequency bands as T-Mobile and AT&T.
Here you can see the 4G LTE frequency bands for the LG V50, it is only missing 3 frequency bands but the rest it has which should be good enough for 4G LTE coverage:
https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/lg-v50-thinq
And if you want to compare, here is the T-Mobile LG V40:
https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/lg-v40-thinq
I have T-Mobile as my network carrier and the Sprint V50 works fine on it.. it's only 4G LTE and that's totally fine with me.
One last thing, you need to keep in mind that your carrier features will not work (just like how they won't work on a factory unlocked variant either). Things like WiFi calling, caller ID, visual voicemail, etc. You need to buy a carrier branded phone in order to get those features, the software from the carrier is on those phones.
Dá pra comparar aqui:
https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/IN
e Brasil:
https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/BR
So this Chinese tencent version supports n7, n38 and n41 for 5G (which means that I have only 1 out of the 3 bands for Rogers 5G, n41) and B2, 4, 5 and 7 for 4G.
Check out the chart on this website: https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/CA/asus-rog-phone-5
My advice is to cancel the order and buy a phone with band support for North American carriers. The phone you ordered lacks full band support for any U.S. carrier.
https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/xiaomi-redmi-note-9-pro
So your experience on TMO/Mint Mobile is likely to suck (assuming that it works at all); and then if you decide to switch to another carrier, your service on their system will suck just as bad.
You live in North America. Buy a phone made for North America.
if you go down towards the bottom there is a list of different phone companies (you'll have to switch countries) with what bands they use and what the phone supports. it shows that it is compatible with half of the bands telus uses for 4g.
https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-mi-11
This will give you info for what bands/carriers will work in the US. Your best bet will be t-mobile or other carrier that uses their network. I've seen the Mi 11 global on eBay. After awhile you may find it from a third party reseller on Amazon.
https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-redmi-note-9s
Probably not very good. I'll avoid that. On the otherside, OnePlus is much better if you're looking for Android options other than Samsung or LG.
Please don't go for the Xiaomi Mi 10 as Xiaomi phones don't support all the network bands in Canada while the OnePlus phones do. I suggest waiting for the Pixel 5 as it will have 90hz refresh rate, great camera, 5g compatibility, solid battery, 3 years of OS updates (oneplus 8 will only get 2 years of OS support, 3 years of security), stock android, but a weaker processor (765g). Alternatively, I'll also wait for the 8T and S20 FE 5G version UNF4Z3D69 recommended.
OnePlus 7 Pro is also a good choice as it fits all your requirements but OnePlus is really vague on how long it will support its devices (oneplus 5t had 3 OS updates from android 7 to android 10) so you may or may not receive that additional year of updates. Can also install customs ROMs as there will be custom ROM support for it.
iPhone 11 will also be available for $549 (in USA) when the iPhone 12 gets released so you may want to take a look at that too.
Since US Version has yet to be announced, we don't really know which version is for US, or if it will be a new version.
So far this is what we know about the different Zenfone 6 version.
https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-asus-zenfone-6-6gb-64gb-vc
You can checks the different versions on this link and scroll down to see the network band each one has. I suspect for US market it will be VC, but there is a small possibility that they will make one specific for NA.
According to this (https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/xiaomi-redmi-note-4), it only supports lte at band 4 (ignore band 5 I have read only one place in US TMobile actually deploys it). Thats maybe why it struggles to connect to lte. From what I know Band 2 and Band 4 are the primary, but Band 71 is the future of TMobile
I used Mi 9 for reference, but you can see, which frequencies are available with Mi 9, here: https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/xiaomi-mi-9 I googled and Mint Mobile seems to use B4 and B12 for T-Mobile 4G, which are supported by the Mi 9 Global version, so I guess you should be finde.
My recommendation is the Oneplus 6T! I got it moving from the Samsung Galaxy S8 and haven't looked back! Here's a review from Android Authority where they describe is as 90% of the Phone for 6t% of the Price and I tend to agree. For like $550 this phone pretty much packs in all the flagship features and specs. The underscreen fingerprint reader works really well for me, although sometimes the face unlock is so quick that it surpasses the finger. It's zippy as heck and it does have the notch (which not every loves, I thought I wouldn't), but that hasn't seemed to affect me - it's teardrop shaped and pretty small. Here's a quick spec comparison between the S10, 6T, and V3. I hope this help!

Other things I like about the phone is a really solid camera (including a night mode) as well as battery life - I leave work around 5 charged, and it easily lasts with ~30 left by 3pm the next day. Good luck finding a new daily driver!

PS - One feature I miss is the Samsung Pay - I liked being able to tap to pay anywhere (it uses a proprietary hardware that fakes your card being swiped). I use Google Pay now on the 6T and haven't had any issues though.
Don't get the Pocophone. It is incompatible with most service providers in USA. You don't get coverage.

If the camera is the reason you like this phone, then here's a list of 20 handsets with the same "Sony IMX317" module, some which are over 600$ cheaper.
I recently bought a Teclast X80 (89 euro) (specs) which dual boots Windows 10 and Android 5.1.1. There is a problem with wifi reception, a hardware problem, i use a wifi dongle on Windows to fix the wifi.
Windows runs fine, not great, but definitly doable. You obviously can't game with it, but streaming videos via YouTube or other streaming services works fine. If you have any further specific questions I wouldn't mind answering them as best is I a could.
Samsung S6 Active or S7 Active fullfil everything except stock android (maybe custom ROM or at least Nova launcher)
S8 Active will come literally in few days
if the battery could be lowered to 3000mAh there would be also S7, Xperia Z3, Samsung A5 2017
Xperia is quite outdated but closest to stock
You should buy a phone with a SD 625/626 as they are just as powerful as the S5 but will be more power efficient and more likely to get software updates. Try the moto z2 play or lenovo p2. All of these phones have the SD 625 chipset.
Redmi Note 4, definitely. Its processor is a lot better than the one in the Umi and Xiaomi is more reliable. The odds for updates on the Redmi is also far greater.
On Kimovil the cheapest phones which I could find was the Xiaomi Mi 4c at 105 USD. That is 73 USD cheaper than the Umi Super. Kimovil link
According to this the Google Pixel 4a 5g with the x52 5g modem does support most Verizon bands, hopefully this means it could be possible!
Short answer : No.
You can check the bands for both these devices - scroll down to network bands to find full list of bands. Mi 11i : https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-mi-11i Your device Mi 11x Pro : https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-mi-11x-pro
It seems your device only supports 77 and 78, so doesn't matter which ROM you flash, your hardware will be limited to these two bands. You can also check and enable more bands (to work better with your carrier) via root with an app named Network Signal Guru, but still, it cannot get you anymore hardware bands. It requires physical bands which, unfortunately, your device doesn't have.
Should have done your research and got a poco f3 instead it supports more USA bands but what you're using is about the best you're going to get out of it since mint piggybacks off T-Mobile towers your not going to find any carrier any better https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/xiaomi-poco-x3-pro
If its not officially sold in the US then you'll have to do the homework to make sure it's supported by your carrier.
Poco F3 will likely get two OS updates as is the overall standard but its very popular with custom rom developers if you want to go down that route (which I recommend doing anyway because Chinaware).
If it doesn't work out then the recently released Oneplus Nord 2 isn't far off from the Poco F3.
OnePlus 8 Pro and I can play just fine on highest settings + 60fps (dunno if those are ever reached), though the phone runs unpleasantly hot with them.
Both phones should be very comparable in specs (though the 8 Pro has 50% more RAM), so sounds a bit like a software issue.
Are you in US? Some Huawei phones don't support all 4g bands. Check this link and find your device and what bands does your phone support.
https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/huawei-honor-8x
If the place where you live doesn't cover the 4g bands for your device, your device will never connect to 4g.
XCover Pro isn't technically available for the T-Mobile channel though the Unlocked version would support some of T-Mobile's bands and NONE of the Sprint bands at all. XCover Band](https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/samsung-galaxy-xcover-pro)
If you're looking for a rugged and inexpensive device, T-Mobile is doing a trade-in special to get the S21 for FREE when activating a new line or $500 off with trade-in.
There's even the Galaxy A52, it's ip67 water and dust resistant and offers about 80% of the same features of Samsung's flagship devices.
Here's some great cases for it. https://www.otterbox.com/en-us/galaxy-a52-5g?gclid=CjwKCAjw_o-HBhAsEiwANqYhp6DOoVzVcWbg8h0AeYeUiF7AW3u1xDsSJmD02wQHtnf2SJFc79KODxoCOHIQAvD_BwE

My go-to site for checking bands: kimovil for the Blackview BV9900 Pro
Use the search in the upper right corner for the replacement phone (and then search "frequency checker"). I'm looking at the Xiaomi Mi 10t Lite 5g, but it's got terrible cameras that may or may not be fixed with a software upgrade. I'm still holding out about any news on that. (The 4g version of this phone is the highly reviewed Poco X3 NFC--again, with undesirable cameras.)
Edit: formatting
Your best bet is probably T-mobile (note I've no idea if it will work where you are & global version will have the best chance)
See this site for supported bands on networks
https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/xiaomi-mi-10t
>And is buying Chinese versions a thing now?
Check the phone's kimovil page (after setting it to Israel) for band support if you're buying a non-global version. Since only B3 is in use for LTE, and that band is also a standard one in China, there's no issue. 5G on the other hand might have limitations, depending on your provider.
More problematic could be if future Chinese versions follow Huawei in not (being able to) include Google services, but so far it's not an issue.
As for software… just install what's missing of Google's default apps and remove/disable OnePlus's annoying replicas.
Go to network compatibility and change to Australia and you'll see it misses some bands on 4g and 5g, so you should check locally if those are the ones of your carrier or if other people is stating worst signal or what. For Europe for example, most of the bands are in on the cn version.
https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare/oneplus-9-pro,oneplus-9-pro-8gb-256gb-cn
For a small top-end gaming phone you're limited to S21 and Zenfone 8. The NA variant Zenfone 8 should be compatible with Canadian services, though I have no idea when it will be available for purchase.
I did not use Wifi calling let alone volTe- not familiar with those technologies. I will try Gpay. You can find the networks to see if they are compatible with your country on the phone's Kimovil page: https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-mi-11-lite-5g
Sure, if by great you mean mediocre. If the mixed bag software, and the lack of software support isn't enough to scare you away from one of these many phones, check out the supported bands https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-oppo-find-x3-pro. The Oppo Find X3 Pro works better then most Oppo and Xiaomi phones and it doesn't have full US band support on 4g, and barely any 5g bands.
Basically, for the same price you can get a Pixel, Oneplus, or Samsung, one of which will do everything better in the US.
Aqui puedes consultar: https://www.kimovil.com/es/frequency-checker/SV
Xiaomi Poco X3, uscito 4 mesi fa
If you're in the US and bought anything but a unit intended for sale and use in the US, at minimum your reception is going to suffer a lot. 9/14 4G bands and 4/5 5G bands present on Version A (for USA market) are omitted from both Global and China versions of this phone.
There also might be some significant software-side differences, assuming this site I've never heard of, but found in a Google search, is accurate. Do you want the Google Play Store? Ability to use a third-party launcher? AeroActive Cooler accessory included in the box? US version would have those; Tencent edition allegedly doesn't.
And of course, a Tencent edition device likely doesn't have warranty coverage in the US. So, y'know, you get what you pay for in the end.
Have you checked the network bands for AT&T and T-Mobile? The phone isn't compatible with every band in the US... https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/oppo-reno-2
But I would contact Oppo support, they're generally very helpful. Good luck. It it doesn't work, I'll give you a packet of biscuits and a picture of a dog for it. Final offer.
I've never encountered banned websites my entire time here, I think pretty much everything is available. You can probably find a free vpn on the very rare occurrence you find a site you cannot access.
Another thing I didn't mention in the above comment is not all phones work in the US, we have different cell phone bands so make sure you check your phone compatibility with US carriers. You might have to buy a new one if it does not support 4G bands. Sometimes I buy international phones because they're a lot cheaper than US android phones and have to check band support. I would suggest checking https://www.kimovil.com/en/
https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-mi-10-ultra
Bought mine from TradingShenzhen, chose shipping method Global Priority (no further costs) no customs or tax added.
I assume you mean regular network calling? If so yes I can call no problem and I do get updates from Sony as they come in. You will know if the phone will work if you search it here: https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/CA/sony-xperia-5-ii
Hope this helps!
just doing a little snooping about and it seems that at least in Canada, we're out of luck for 5G compatibility on Sony phones. none of the global variants have the bands our carriers use. GSMarena also lists that the US version won't have 5G capability, so it might just be a North American problem with Sony phones.
See here (best on desktop) for a detailed spec comparison. Two particular things unmentioned so far: Only the 8 Pro has IP68 certification (the 8 has it for some variants sold via [US?] carriers), while the 7T had issues in some tougher water tests. And not only the main camera sensor is worse, it's also that only the 8 Pro has a telephoto lens (yielding a 3x optical zoom).
[Essentially Oneplus has a 6-6 month release circle for its upper class, where the first round introduces a new generation's top & bottom models, and the second "T" one either a model in between those (8T) or minor successors (7T/7T Pro), (also) carrying whatever minor updates got available/cheap enough in the meantime.]
If your in Thailand, why not get a Redmi K30 Pro/Poco F2 Pro?
Faster than S10 Lite, has headphone jack, 5G, AMOLED display, and a HUUUGE 4700 Mah battery.
The S20 has only 4000 Mah battery.
Poco F2 Pro/Redmi K30 Pro have the Snapdragon 865 in the S20, but costs 50% less money.
I don't believe there is 5G coverage for this phone in Thailand, but it supports 4G on this website: https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/TH/xiaomi-poco-f2-pro
Either way, it's faster than an S10 Lite, and since the Lite only has 4G anyway, your not losing much.
This is awesome. Still a bit lost but it definitely helps. It's a lot of info to digest, which is what I was after, I guess. This is something I found. It's what got me questioning 5g compatibility. https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-lg-v60-thinq-global-8gb-256gb

https://www.kimovil.com/ru/compare-smartphones/f_max_d+screenSize.5.6
it has 2/3 of the bands for the carrier so it will work but don't expect it to work everywhere

Gsmarena has the band support details.. Check the 4g support section.
M31s still has no details because it only launched today. I'm also waiting for a proper comparison because M31s seems to have a better camera sensor than the M31.
The US market is so hard to work with, we get the short end of the stick.
The global version is missing a couple Bell bands. If you stick to Rogers/Public you'd be alright.
https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/CA/oneplus-z
Probably wouldn't work very well in the states.
https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/oneplus-z
From what I'm reading theres no duty on phones, just taxes.
Gonna wait to see what Pixel has in store.
Nearly all Xiaomi's don't have good support for N.A., missing support for all longer range 700Mhz bands eg. 12/17,13,29. So if you are having connectivity/signal issues, thats probably the reason why. https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-redmi-note-9s
> I purchased a phone based upon your imei checker
If I were new to using an MVNO, had the ability to follow instructions, used the IMEI checker as directed, and the phone passed the IMEI checker, I would go on the assumption that the phone was fully compatible with Mint (as the OP did here). Especially seeing as how there's nothing else (with the exception that the phone be fully unlocked) on the "CONGRATULATIONS!" page that suggests I do otherwise.
I *happen* to know that my daily driver OnePlus 6 operates on Bands 66 and 71, but my retired Nexus 6P does not operate on Bands 66 or 71, therefore, I am aware that the Nexus 6P is not fully compatible with Mint, and not surprised that the 6P does not function optimally. It works OK, but not optimally.
For the folks at Mint Mobile: How about including another compatibility-check step that lists the Mint-supported bands (currently 2, 4, 12, 66, and 71 IIRC) along with a link to a resource that would show the relationship between their own device and its supported bands, e.g. https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker ? This would sure make it easier for me to recommend Mint to my friends by telling them to 1) Check your IMEI and band compatibility on the Mint site, and then, if it passes both, 2) Buy a Mint Mobile Starter Kit to ensure compatibility before porting over.
I'm not from the US (I'm in Canada) and I don't have the Redmi Note 7, but since no one has posted here I'll try my best to answer your questions.
The Redmi Note 7 is missing 3 out of the 6 4G bands (for the global version): 12, 66 and 71 (source: https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/redmi-note-7). It seems that at least band 12 is very important, so I wouldn't suggest getting it. I would avoid Xiaomi in general because of their poor 4G support in the US.
Yes it will run great on Koodo - https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-redmi-note-8-pro
Scroll down to the band coverage for canada and it has 3/4 4G and full 3G coverage. My xiaomi phone has 1/2 4g and full 3g and I have no problems.
Enjoy!
Also, just realized the Redmi K20 Pro it's a much better option for 300-350$ (Snapdragon 855) Here's a link with the specs and price and where to buy https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-redmi-855

Check if it works in your country here: https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker
Kimovil with all needed features. I would avoid buying Huawei simply because of their current dispute with the U.S. government, so that leaves the reputable options Galaxy S10+ or Galaxy Note 9. Or, you could wait for the Galaxy Note 10.
It sure will. I bought one from AliExpress last week and I live in Ontario. Hasn't shipped yet - maybe in the next week or two. It gets 4 of 9 4G bands (b2, b4, b5, b7). This will help:
https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-mi-9t-6gb-128gb
I wouldn't buy it myself. It's really cheap, but it's also really limited and will be obsolete within a year.
For browsing, chatting, streaming, I'd at least buy something used or put $30-$40 more and get a note 4x, 6a, 7a etc.

Took the liberty to check something out. The Go's price is really low, but it's for a reason.
gsmarena and kimovil are good for checking network support. There can be mistakes though. https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-redmi-855
The China K20pro doesn't support lte bands 20,28 so the phone is no good in places like Europe, Australia.
There already exists a pro version of Redmi 7, it is called Redmi Y3 and it is mostly identical except for a better front camera.
Servite.
Here you can see how its bands are butchered relative to the global version.
https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-mi-9-global

I see 2, 4, & 12 but no 17. band 5 is only in the myrtle beach SC area so it's useless for most phones.

I wouldn't worry about customs, I used to regularly receive packages from asia & was never charged customs fees.
