Xiao was orginally imagined long, flowing robes, but that was eventually scrapped due to clipping issues.

Hence I think it's a very nice suprise to see at least his lower body clothed like that in a official design. But chances are that means we'll never see it as a skin due to clipping issues.

Lots of people complaining it was "cringe", I assume. It's actually been slowly patched out, in their early QnAs for the CBTs it used to be extremely obnoxious and was toned down with every subsequent post until every roleplaying aspect was removed.

By the way, the animation designers have in fact gone into depth about how they create animations for characters (or well rather specifically Xiao, but it gives us a window into the other ones). They use things like movie stunts (both "real" ones and ones that use wires) as inspiration, some of them are also mo capped although a few more 'impossible' ones are done manually. Some of the images in the link above are dead now but I think you can get the gist of it that way.

Geo resonance was bad, his cast for hold e was too long making him easy to ragdoll, had to pick between pillar and shield when using e, weaker shield with 250% geo damage absorption (how many things attack with geo), split scaling making building a bit awkward.

Other variables: lore and marketing seemed to indicate a dps character. He felt heavily locked by constellations compared to previous units (c0 being as quoted "half a unit") so people were worried all future units would be like this. There were not a lot of other characters with geo constructs that worked well with zhongli (albedo).

In short, you need 2 fate points that you get by losing the 50/50 between the two featured weapons (I think losing the 75/25 gives no fate points) after choosing the one you want. Changing weapons mid-banner removes the points, and those points go back to 0 for each banners.

We did have PvP, in the form of Windtrace and with the recent events of Theatre Mechanicus and Seelie event, we'll have it rerun.

However, direct combat PvP with other players will absolutely never happen.

1. The game isn't made for combat PvP, take a look at Zhongli and Ganyu, their existence alone makes PvP unfair. The top meta teams in this game will have either of the two or both.
2. Implementing combat PvP in a game like this would make it even more P2W and considering that every single PvP gacha game has a motive for you to use it, expect people complaining every single day and voicing out their complaints.
3. Making a PvE game into a PvP game will be the end of it, such as the case of Kingdom Hearts Unchained X which recently closed this year. Powercreep became abundant after PvP was implemented and new medals(the reason you pull in the gacha in this game) were always more broken than the last.

I've always found it completely silly that a player going afk from the game and triggering the
Stellar Reunion event (https://genshin.mihoyo.com/en/news/detail/7489) over and over (No log in for 14 days+, and 45+ days since last triggering Stellar Reunion), would get a max refine rancour fastest than someone actually playing the game and doing weeklies each week.

Even though the subreddit is community-operated, it is still an official subreddit, and datamining is technically against miHoYo's terms of service.

The game isn't balanced for PvP content, and they won't balance (read nerf) for PvP, since that would effect the desirability of the character.

Honestly, what the game needs is a repeatable rewarding dungeon, probably rogue lite, so its randomised to a degree. Something you can grind when you are out of resin, basically. Alternatively they could actually make the open world functional; respawn chests, more xp/mora from mobs, all mobs have a 40% chance to drop fodder artifacts, again, stuff to do when out of resin...

Based on Xiao's Vision lore, all adepti are capable of wielding the elements and have powers basically equating to a Vision, but it's unknown whether this power comes from Celestia and follows the same 'rules' as Visions for humans. From this article also on Xiao, it states that Adepti in Teyvat are explicitly non-human, as humans are considered to have a 'higher purpose'. Xiao's physical vision is apparently just to fit in with his human form.

Ganyu and Yanfei received Visions (presumably from Celestia) later in life, and both are also half-adepti. Ganyu's Vision lore says that it "[granted] her power to resonate with the world to a degree beyond her natural abilities.", which implies that she wasn't as strong before without a Vision.

Still, Ganyu had to have some natural power of her own to fight in the war, likely due to her half-blooded heritage combined with being raised/trained by the adepti growing up (they still have their own magic after all). Yanfei in comparison is far more like a regular human who just acquired a Vision through the usual ambition/motivation, especially since she grew up in the city during a time of peace and isn't as close to her adepti side as Ganyu.

As someone hard skipping this event, I really hope it fails. I skipped Elemental Cruicible way back at the start too. I play games solo, including games like No Man Sky and Remnant: From the Ashes, that like Genshin have co-op baked in, but the way it should be; entirely optional. This co-op exclusive stuff or locking teapot stuff behind friends, pushes me closer to leaving the game.

To further FreezeShock's comment, the bundle in question was likely the Boundless Symphony Bundle mentioned in 2.1's patchnotes, with the furnishing Splendid Phrase and Wings of Poetic Melody being renamed. The Offline Concert has also been postponed due to COVID concerns, the bundle in addition; whether related or not, the postponement of the bundle itself may be caused by the need to create new assets before it is truly released as per the official notes.

In game models shouldn't really affect the games file size as much as installing all the X amount of voice language options or higher resolution textures, (which can extend to player model textures, but less significant) and pre-rendered cutscene resolution (that are actual video vs being in-game) so-on.

Developer insight for Xiao, highly recommended read, lots of details about the nature of adepti (real thing in Chinese mythology as well as Xiao’s design, from his animations to his color scheme. The direct quote is below

The adepti are based on the idea of demigod-like "immortals" (仙人 xianren) in Daoism, and are referred to by the honorific title "sanyan wuxian" (三眼五显), literally "three eyes and five manifestations" (but localized in English as "mighty and illuminated"). The adepti are classed as non-human, based on the notion that "All who have nine orifices can achieve immortality through self-discipline," a line uttered by the "Monkey King" Sun Wukong in the Ming-dynasty novel Journey to the West. It's from March 2020 (in other words, pre-release) and the cutscene that plays at the end of the festival was also already created by that point and was on Youtube.

The whole event revolves around celebrating / commemorating the fallen heroes of Liyue, the deceased adeptus, a group of which Xiao is one of the few remaining members. How would he not fit into this event of all things?

And IDK about the english dub and how they've mangled Xiao's character with it, but in the JP dub there are no problems with Xiao's characterization. He's a fussy and reclusive tsundere through and through, and they've emphasized that in his Serenitea Pot dialogue lines as well.

The EN voice direction is what made him out to be edgy, if you Listen to the OG CN version, he is really dignified, calm and a little bit tired. The JP voice direction got it quite accurate too. It's unfortunate how the vast majority of the Europe server players will never truly experience how Xiao is as a character. I hope the EN director reconsiders their direction. Even in the personality section of the developer's insight describes him as a silent and brooding individual. Ig they took the brooding part too seriously.

I imagine that in that scene Amber was like 14-18 and Diluc like 22-25. So I assume that there is an age gap of up to 6 years.

Xiao and Ganyu don't have visions now either. The Adepti have inate elemental powers. Their visions are just for show.

It seems like her cryo application will be too slow to keep up with klee, and ganyu will probably be the one triggering it. Which makes me sad, cuz i wanted to pull for her as well.
