Sender - where you accept task to deliver items from one area to another. But it is new this year and not so famous though. Download app
I think it just makes it better. Its integration with Grab, a popular Southeast Asian ride-hailing app, is more than welcome. Honestly, Maps has only gotten better over the past year or so with these cool integrations.
Calling and getting a cab to come to you is always a nightmare. I would like a mobile app which pings every taxi company with a taxi near me. Look at this app if you would like suggestions on implementations Also, more often than not credit cards machines don't work which make it a pain when I don't have cash on me. I use Uber because 99% of the time. I can press a button and a ride will come to me, with great drivers, won't have to bother with cash and it all happens in a matter of seconds while it takes me 30 mins to get a call a taxi company, get them to come here and maybe they will turn up on time with no indication as to when they will come. The queue times when calling one are too long. It is in my best interest to continue using Uber as it provides the best service as often a cheaper price.
I use this Moovit app a lot when it comes to checking the arrival time of public transportation, especially for buses. You can fill in your departure and arrival locations and it will suggest several routes with public transportation that you can take.
You can easily find imported products in groceries located inside a shopping mall these days. Otherwise, you can use the Grab app to search for the groceries you want and get them delivered to you same day.
Personally, I walk and take public transportation a lot. But it is still not recommended to walk around at night. During the day, the weather can be pretty scorching. Do bring around an umbrella and it can rain in the evening even though it was sunny at noon.
I think we are pretty chill here in KL. You can slowly learn about the taboos once you have made some friends. Younger generations don't mind so much.
English can get you around quite easily. You can pick up bahasa, Cantonese, Mandarin, Hokkien slowly at you visit eateries :D My boyfriend who is a foreigner learned most of his beginner Cantonese from the auntie selling roasted pork rice.

Unless I am reading something wrong, I fail to see how you would need this app specifically for college expenses
you only catch Uber outside Tan Son Nhat. You can try Grab app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grabtaxi.passenger) or DichungTaxi (www.dichungtaxi.com/en) which is suitable inside :) Have a good day!
no dangue outbreak in pass years. 2 zika virus cases a few months after last summer olympics but it was 2-3 years ago. singapore got more zika cases than malaysia but haters will say "oh that because you dont count unreported cases in malaysia".
dont drink straight from tap water. our current minister of water is a fucking dumbass when he say the tap water is safe to drink. well technically it is safe but do you want to take that chances? stick with bottled water.
as long you dont go out to east coast sabah you will be safe from philippine islamic extremist kidnappers.
monsoon season wind will be switching early this year if you are coming here in February the sea will be rough so no island trip for you guys. if you guys are coming in next 2-3 weeks weather will generally be alright. for island trip you can take boat form here: https://goo.gl/maps/D5rLRqCwUFz. people will always flock here for sunset (if you guys are into that)
theres no uber, download Grab instead and use it for ride hailing. Uber has been bought by this company a few years back its basically the same thing.
seafood without alcohol served: https://goo.gl/maps/TqBaJC6SvFH2. popular with locals because this is one of the cheapest seafood. i bring my guest over here.
seafood with alcohol served: https://goo.gl/maps/dMaEkWhsfy32. popular with chinese/taiwanese tourist. more expensive than previous one.
kalamatas restobar https://goo.gl/maps/8aDejhach3m is a good place to chill out at night. haram drinks, halal food, friendly owner. Awie (local rock star) have come here, drink his ass out and dancing on table naked or so the story goes.
local was hospitable but definitely use common sense. if the place looks fishy or awfully quiet then its a bad idea.
im pretty much local so you can ask more if you want.
Hey thanks for posting u/dayanruben.
I am part of the team that built this. Happy to take any questions.
Some more details:
build.gradle
to BUILD.bazel
. Bazel works best when you have lot of small targets but that comes with build file maintenance cost - hoping Grazel will help by automation.Public transport doesn't need to be just busses and trains. We have a good environment of app booked taxis or private hired cars.

Price of car rental depends on the company but at minimum could be $50 per day, not including parking, fuel and other admin stuff.

Unless you intend to travel from one end of the island to the other multiple times a day, the average rate of traveling from an outer part of the island to the CBD is approx $15 to $25 per trip and a full one end of the island to the other could be $35 to $45.
The SM MoA Arena is located beside the SM Mall of Asia, one of the largest in Asia hence the name, and situated on a land that was once water. The location is being developed and will be soon on par with nearby developed cities like Taguig City and Makati City.
Accommodation will not be a problem as there are tons of hotels situated nearby (up to 6 mile radius of the arena). There are several five star hotels averaging USD200/night namely some; Solaire Resorts, City of Dreams, Diamond Hotel, Sofitel Philippine Plaza, and The Peninsula Manila (I was an intern there for 4 months, best lobby facade I've seen 10/10). There are hotels averaging USD80 - 120/night refer here(The MoA Arena is located far left of the map near the bay) but beware of what, us, Filipinos call "Motels", we have a common notion of these motels that they are commonly used for one night stands, these motels are scattered around Manila namely Hotel Sogo and Victoria Court. Although, you can definitely stay in them but expect mediocre service as it's enticingly cheap.
Recreation outside the MoA Arena is available. Nearby is the Mall of Asia which features 2 indoor ice skating rinks, the Seaside Boulevard (nightlife and stuff), bowling and pool halls. If you're not satisfied at the Seaside Bvld's nightlife, the nearest spot would be in Malate, Manila. (idk about this, I dont drink)
There will be an English cast. Or, I might have misunderstood your question, English is the second most spoken language in the Philippines if you're concerned. You'll see some tourists also wandering around the mall.
Bring light clothes, refrain from wearing jewelries in public, don't flash your phones in public, stay low profile. Unruly Filipinos look upon foreign tourists as walking money, I am saddened by this but poverty in our country is evident.
Expect the weather here in June to be hot and humid (30C+/86F+) making you actively seek for shade, not kidding. Bring/buy umbrellas, wear light clothes but always ensure security. Potable water here is pretty cheap also averaging 50 cents/liter on convenience stores, bring water with you always and stay hydrated. Caution: Tap water is not potable.
Dining choices are diverse. The Mall of Asia alone could cater your needs for eastern and western flairs. Hotel Quality Buffet restaurants nearby the mall would be my best bet for the bang for the buck at USD20 per person. Do try Filipino cuisine or try the reason why McDonald's are overshadowed by Jollibee in the Philippines.
Transportation means here are majority by jeepneys, buses and the worst rail system. I suggest downloading the app called Grab for IOS or Grab for Android as local taxi drivers usually rip off foreign tourists charging easily USD100 for a 5 mile drive. If you're coming from the airport or else where, talk to them you'll only pay by the meter or no. It would only roughly cost you 8 USD for a 5 kilometer trip. (correct me on this, I don't often use local taxi, friends)
Manila is not the place for recreation, it's not the most that Philippines can offer, the beautiful islands and beaches are all outside Manila. Idk, im sleepy, just give me a buzz if you have other questions. Sorry for englando.
Hi, I'll try to give some inputs as much as I can. xD
3 days 2 nights in Palawan? Hmm. Pwede na kaso bitin. You can do everything in those 3 days pero parang nakakapagod imo.
Alternative to Uber will be Grab ( iOS and Android ). Medyo mas mahal sila compared sa Uber.
If you guys will stay here in Manila, madami din namang pwedeng puntahan/galaan/gimikan. Just not sure kung anong trip nyong puntahan, but there are museums and parks around.
HTH. :)
