Oh I'm not the creator, I was just a developer! But I'm always happy to help people out, especially during a LAN.
If you want to alt-tab during your lan check out Borderless-Gaming and you can use Steam Cleaner to restore some space
Enjoy your lan guys.
utility. not game. to easily Alt-Tab in & out of game. you don't really need to pay for the steam version when you can get it for free @ https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming . There was a thread abt it yesterday that developer first said he won't charge for steam version but then he did. (steam version have some extra features like in built steam games integration)
GPLv2 allows users to "copy and distribute verbatim copies of the Program's source code as you receive it" but the new license requires users be "granted express permission".
These licenses are incompatible and the author does not have the authority to retroactively deny rights he previously granted. Any version of BorderlessGaming's source prior to commit 6d4c93 can be freely redistributed without the author's permission, and following the terms of GPLv2.
I use borderless gaming. It's this background program that basically removes the border from games running in windowed mode. Works on pretty much anything that will run in windowed mode.
https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases/tag/6.5
You can favorite applications to always run borderless, and use macros to put applications in borderless. It also has some other small additional options and seems to work with all games.
Not a problem at all.
Download Borderless Gaming
Start the game in window mode
Find "Rocket League (32-bit, DX9) in Borderless gaming and click the left facing arrow
Right click to select "Set Window Size", if the option is unavailable select "No Size Change" first
Follow the on screen instructions to select your game's resolution
Click the bottom most button in the center column.
After that, run a quick game to make sure the line between screens is in the right place, and you're good!
I'm a bit embarrassed that bit of code actually made it into release; I didn't realize I had left my hack and slash method in there. I've gone ahead and removed it and got it to just this
Thanks again for your feedback.
EDIT: New version is pushed with lots of fixed https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases/tag/4.3
No need to make modifications to your game client, just use this:

Oh, okay… It's a bit of a relieved now, to be frank.
But now that I have your attention, might I say how frustrating it was to open the program and get a notification of a new version, just to find out that I couldn't actually get it?
To add to this: if borderless window mode is not supported natively by the game, you can use the program "Borderless Gaming" to force it (usually) https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
it does! I always play windowed borderless, check out this EXCELLENT free app for making games borderless windowed, works with every game I have tried it with too! Someone showed me it on this sub reddit after I moaned about HS not having borderless mode.
https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/blob/master/README.md
download links here: https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
Just open it up and add hearthstone to the list: http://puu.sh/9SjW2/3c5ad67b35.png Or just press WIN + F6 to toggle.
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with this app, I just love windowed borderless and wanted to share this great program.
Nowadays you can run it in pretty much every single game. The games that don't support borderless at least support windowed, and you can use Borderless Gaming to make them borderless.
What I did: Download Borderless Gaming, run the game in windowed mode and it works flawlessly.
You may also want to go into the options window inside the Banished client and set it to not pause when unfocused.
More PC fixes/improvements for Automata:
I'd like to mention boarderless gaming
It's 2019 and all games should have a boarderless windowed option. Sadly, they don't. Some games like Sekiro only have fullscreen or windowed options. Start the game in windowed mode, open this program, and set it to boarderless. Works great.
Side note: IDK why Sekiro had such terrible screen tearing for me in fullscreen, but making it boarderless windowed actually got rid of the issue entirely.
Some update: https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/commit/6d4c933b025b8a6100a3630e6891cb2bb6bc0c45
LMAO, he is attempting to change the license and limit what other people can do. I'm not a lawyer, but pretty sure that this is against his own GPL.
EDIT: Also, moving away from GPL to another license (or changing it), you can't relicense your old code (AND precompiled versions) and you probably have to get permissions from all the contributors for a new license on future code, since it's their code they willingly contributed under GPL.
Ever since I discovered borderless windowed was a thing I have never used regular fullscreen since. If the game doesn't have it natively, Borderless Gaming is fantastic and runs in the background.
Good lord you're obsessed.
I released Borderless Gaming 2 years ago as a small application to fix the fact Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance ran at a lower speed than my monitor when in fullscreen mode.
From there it expanded into being a tool that could be used on all games or software. With contributions from many people helping make it less crappy. Its been open source since its inception on Github and the name has always been Borderless-Gaming. I don't need to copy someones name to "trick people" when the software is whats recommended, the name means nothing.
>The application will remain free, this will be an option for people to easily install it who don't want the clutter of the standalone installer.
Were my words and they remain true. Borderless Gaming is still a free, open source application and I make it very clear on the steam page and link to the source and free builds. I make it clear that by buying it through steam it is just a method of supporting development. If I could have put a free version of Borderless Gaming with a donate button on steam I would have, but I couldn't and things changed. So I'm sorry you are disappointed.
If I deleted the entire Github maybe you'd have something to be mad about. But you're trying to stir up drama because some people can choose to buy the software. As I said in the steam community hub and i'll say here again. Get over yourself.
Fullscreen window mode (sometimes called borderless window mode) is when the game is running as though it was in windowed mode, allowing you to alt tab seamlessly, and without any risk of freezes, crashes or performance issues. It also happens to stop screen tearing. All the while looking exactly the same as normal fullscreen mode.
Basically it's amazing and you should praise any developer who includes this option with the game (You can have it enabled with most games through third party programs).
I use this : https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming
Pretty easy to use software that makes any game run in borderless
There is a download link and a tutorial if you scroll down
Hope that helps!

Most games that include a "borderless windowed" option allow you to move your cursor off the window when you pause. For games that don't natively support that, I use Borderless Gaming, a free program that allows you to force programs to do this.
And this is still free and Steam is simply a distribution option and a method for you to support the development.
https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming
Now do you understand the point of this
I hate fullscreen, but for a different reason. I have 3 monitors, and I hate when a game has only fullscreen mode, because it takes priority over everything and if I try to focus to a different window, things have to change.
I generally run in maximized windowed mode (ala 'fake' fullscreen), or just run windows mode and use a tool called "Borderless Gaming" (https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming) to make the window into a fake fullscreen.
As far as your idea, if it's something you'd like, then by all means do it. It doesn't sound appealing to me, but I'm pretty sure the 770 will be able to handle a 4k resolution desktop with a 1080 res windowed game, so it's definitely viable.
Here you go. Two programs I use. Both are free, with the option to donate, but doing so is not required.
Borderless Gaming (On Github)
Borderless Gaming (On Steam if you want to support the developer)
Github is just a website platform that hosts it. Just go here and scroll down to the "Install from Releases" part to install and read the "Usage" link below it for further instructions. The developer of Borderless Gaming put it on Steam so people can optionally pay him if they want, but you're otherwise getting the same thing.
I can just recommend the free software Borderless Gaming for this (you can also buy it on Steam to support the developers). It works perfectly with Payday 2. I use it all the time.
The URL from the OP goes directly to the download page. Nothing is hidden, it's exactly the normal github layout: click on releases, and then pick the latest release. Virtually any program hosted on github follows the same structure.
Some game don't have any borderless windowed setting at all, but if there is an option for windowed at least, you can run Borderless Gaming to force the borders off. Sometimes it's a bit messy, but if the borders bother you that can be a solution.
Nier Automata! Been enjoying the game so far. If anyone is wanting to pick up the game, it's required that you use Borderless Gaming or another software that makes your game fullscreen borderless.
If you increase your graphics level is it clearer? Cause it may be due to low graphics settings.
edit: An off-topic suggestion: Try this for borderless window
You could just use full screen you know...
But if you really want windows borderless/full windowed. Use Borderless Gaming. Open WoWS. Set it to Windowed. Alt-tab to Borderless Gaming. Click WoWS. Click the box with arrows going outward. Alt-tab back in. Done.
The gist is that you're getting about the same performance as fullscreen mode with no screen tearing and seamless task switching. Those are two really big positives when considering that fixing screen tearing in fullscreen often requires VSync which is performance heavy, and that switching from a fullscreen game with Alt+Tab either takes a considerable amount of time or can increase the likelihood of crashing.
I personally run both Fallout 3 and New Vegas in a forced borderless fullscreen mode, using Borderless Gaming.
For now, I guess I'm going to run the command line argument (in B.net game settings) -popupwindow and leave the game in windowed mode. It gets rid of the border, but it doesn't go full 1080p, it leaves a small black border and the taskbar.
Edit: I may also use Borderless Gaming which I downloaded for Minecraft.
Edit 2: Borderless Gaming isn't actually working out for me. I'll report back if I can get it figured out.

before this thread becomes a shitfest for hating on the dev here is instructions on how to compile it incase you are unwilling to part the $4.
Some games offer "Borderless Windowed" which is probably what you're looking for but for those games that don't you can use Borderless Gaming.
Works great with dual monitors, I can do what I want with the second monitor while in Supercruise or while docked without the game minimizing and getting me killed later on. :)
Edit: Thing I was referring to: https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases/tag/6.5
That's not what a borderless fullscreen mode is... I'm kinda disturbed that you don't even know what /u/NitriusX is talking about here. Lots of games have this feature, and for Civ I have to use a third-party tool to get it working.
> tried to hide the source code for BG
> so that the only way to obtain it was buying it through Steam
> retroactively revoke the GPL license after you decided you didn't want BG to be FOSS anymore.
The source code has always been public and there has never been any attempt to hide it, whatever that means. It was relicensed from GPLv2 to MPLv2 after a major rewrite and ironically enough, now people are complaining about how restrictive GPL, go figure. And every single version is available on the release page. Also a single takedown notice was issued to a user whom at the time stripped all references of me from the project and I released it after we came to an agreement. I'd appreciate if you could just misrepresenting events to fit this fixed narrative you've come up with.
He's referring to the app that's named "Borderless Gaming" (steam link).
It's a tool to force games in windowed mode into borderless desktop resolution (i.e., borderless fullscreen windowed).
From what you're saying about OBS being fine if you play in windowed and use Window Capture, I'd guess that BG is fine since it's basically just stripping the Windows UI elements off the windowed game and repositioning the resulting window.
That said, I'm assuming that D2 has its own native borderless fullscreen windowed mode (as most games do these days), so BG shouldn't be necessary for it.
This broke for me too. As a workaround, set the game to Windowed mode and use Borderless Gaming: https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
This still needs to be fixed, though.. :(
this is what i use for most of my games to go into fullscrean borderless. It is easy to setup and i actually love it. Hope it works for you too.
Might be the same as the other allreay suggested but i can't tell if it is.
Borderless Gaming. Makes any windowed game borderless if it doesn't have that setting. It's fucking magnificent and works very well with moving between multiple monitors.
Set your RS to resizable, then maximize RS on one of your monitors, then use Borderless Gaming to make it fullscreen. Then use your other monitor like any other monitor.
I would also like to know if the game supports borderless full-screen natively or if I will have to use Borderless Gaming. Borderless full-screen is a must for multi-monitor setups.
BTW the Steam Music Player is kinda terrible for some users for now, as it can play only MP3's for now.
If you wanna listen to FLAC or m4a or something, it's better to use different great music player, such as WinAmp.
And use Borderless Gaming to run your E:D in a borderless window and then you can just simply Alt-Tab to your music player without minimizing E:D. Or even better, keep your music player on your second monitor if you have one.
setting the game to run in a windowed widescreen resolution fixes the aspect ratio stretching. I set it to run windowed at a resolution of 1920x1080y and then used Borderless-Gaming to make it fill the entire screen without the window borders. The result is a seemingly fullscreen widescreen resolution without any stretching! Borderless-Gaming is also great to use if you have multi-monitors or switch between games/programs often
EDIT: also i just tested a more recently found method that does not require windowed mode (though that's the mode i prefer to play games) described here and quoted below: http://www.wsgf.org/dr/dark-sector
>Aspyr/Digital Extremes apparently switched 4:3 and 16:9 Calculations when developing the PC Port. > >To fix the Vert+ and HUD issues at 16:9 Resolutions: > >1: Open > >..\Dark Sector\Configs\DS.cfg >in notepad or your preferred text editor. > >2: Insert the following line under the > >[Windows_Config,/Types/Config] > >section: > >Graphics.DisplayAspectRatio=FullScreen4x3 > >and Save.
Borderless Gaming, it's free software.
Doesn't work for absolutely everything, but usually works well. Just remember to open it if you restart your PC and it minimises to the system tray thing.
Does Fall Guys not have native borderless window?
Borderless Gaming might be your best bet. It's a little dusty since it went paid, but the free version still works with a good deal of stuff.
Only the best app ever. It's a FOSS app that lets you make any game running in windowed mode run in borderless windowed. SUPER nice.
You can also buy it on Steam to support the devs.
I don't know what /u/mioua and /u/Schnoebel are smoking but borderless supports 144Hz fine. Screenshot with vsync on, fps limits to 100. When I turn it off, it's at 144.
If I make the game windowed and move even a pixel into the 60Hz one, vsync drops to 60. Move it over to the left and it's back to 100 because the left monitor can do 144. Your borderless window might be going over just a bit into the other monitor causing it to max out at 60.
I've had the same issue as you in Rocket League. The game would be maybe half a pixel into my lowest refresh rate and lock at 60. I used Borderless Gaming to force the window to be slightly smaller than the monitor and it worked.
Spore doesn't have a setting for borderless fullscreen. It's an older game, and back then, exclusive fullscreen was the way to go.
To get Spore to do this, you'll need to download this program: Borderless Gaming.
In Spore's settings, make sure it's not set to fullscreen mode, and make sure the windowed resolution matches your monitor resolution. Then use Borderless Gaming to remove the window borders.
More info on Borderless Gaming, such as how to use it, can be found on the PC Gaming Wiki.

Have you tried Borderless Gaming? It auto forces MOST any Windowed video game into Borderless Windowed mode. It may work for ya. It's a bit janky on Windows 10 but by pressing F3 while in-game, you can force borderless gaming, hopefully it works for ya. It fixed my Dishonored 2/FO4 windowed mode issues.
Its simple, all you have to do is put the game in windowed mode and select your suitable low resolution (if you have crappy pc select the lowest resolution) then select your windows resolution to that what you selected for the game and then finally use "borderless gaming" to play fullscreen (https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming). If changing windows resolution to very low looks complicated you can use "Hotkey Resolution Changer"(https://funk.eu/hrc/). This application allows you change resolution with the hotkeys you select. This method works for most the games but the lower the resolution you use the lower will be the visibility,so experiment for yourself!!!
go get this https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases here or you can buy a more up-to-date version on steam.
set poe to windowed mode and then u set the size manually in borderless gaming.
i use this method to emulate a 21:9 ratio on my 16:10 screen.
Flawless widescreen is a good place to start. I use the combination of these three things -
Borderless gaming - makes windowed games fullscreen
PCGamingwiki - if a game usually has some "fixes" it will be listed here, fantastic website for any PC gaming though.
Widescreen Gaming Forum - self explanatory, a community that is dedicated to finding which games work at higher resolutions, including ultrawide.
Use this mod https://steamcommunity.com/app/524220/discussions/0/135512104777399045/ it fixes resolution and makes the game run better
or if you for some reason don't want to use it play windowed or make it borderless with https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
> whats the performance like on the PC version?
~60fps maxed in 3440x1440 on my GTX 1080, so good but taxing. there's a mod that greatly improves performance though
> Is there ultrawide support?
Yes, with some work. If you use Borderless Gaming and run it in window then yes, but the cutscenes are stretched rather than letterboxed.
It's not perfect on PC tbh, but the game was so good I didn't mind. Automata is in my top 5 game stories that I've played.
I'm guessing Netflix goes into full screen mode, as /u/billcrystals mentioned. ScreenBloom does not work with full screen applications (have a look at "Can I Use ScreenBloom with Videogames?" at the bottom of this page).
Have a look at Borderless-Gaming. It allows full screen applications to work in a windowed full screen mode, which is what ScreenBloom needs. I've used it for ScreenBloom with plenty of different applications ranging from games to video applications and it works well.
Run the game in Windowed (Fullscreen) mode instead of Fullscreen, assuming the game supports it.
Option is usually in the video/graphics section.
If the game doesn't support the windowed fullscreen mode, you can download Borderless Gaming (also available on Steam) and force it.
Try using Borderless Gaming. I've always used it because I alt-tab out quite often and never have seen this issue.
If this doesn't help you, try pulling up the steam overlay and then alt-tabbing out. This has helped me in other games with similar issues.
If you want to make a similar video (skipping install but just going over the actual apps functionality) with the latest version you can get it here
https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases/tag/7.9
You can use the Borderless Gaming app to get it to run for now, but I agree, it should be built-in. I don't think upvoting a post on Reddit will get the word to Gearbox though, you should probably post this on their forums or something.
I find that running the game in windowed mode and using "Borderless Gaming" works better than the "Fake Full Screen Mode Windowed - Alt Tab Fix" mod. It uses the whole screen, hides the edges, and you can alt-tab to your hearts content. Basically accomplishes the same thing as the mod but is more stable.
As to the crashes, the fallout.ini fix listed in the sidebar (here) fixed those for me.
You're an idiot, I run borderless window mode so that I can browse reddit while I play and reply to stupid suggestions like this.
Removing window mode would not stop any cheats, because you can force a game into window mode even if the game doesn't have an option for it with the use of third party software which is 100% legit and allowed
Had this issue and can be overcome by using either of these programs: [Program 1] [Program 1 Download Page] or [Program 2].
Initially used the 2nd program but have moved to the 1st one as I found it is more reliable. ~~However, with the 2nd program you can set the window to whatever position/monitor you want, compared to the other program.~~ With the 2nd program you can set which monitor, by right clicking the program in the left pane and selecting which monitor.
Would something like this be good enough? Imgur
Borderless-Gaming - makes the game fullscreen windowed
VLC player is set to 'Always on Top'
You can use any player you want if it doesn't have that option you can use a ahk script.
If you don't want to fuck around with the .ini, you can use Borderless Gaming. A pretty neat program that will turn any game that needs it into borderless windowed mode. https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming
Half the games nowadays have the option, and the other half at least should have windowed mode, which you can then make borderless using Borderless Gaming.
So, pretty much every half decent game from the last 10 years is capable of being played this way.
I have to say, I enjoyed the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack for a few plays when I was starting out. Then I switched it up to some classic rock radio on tunein.com
Today, I seem to be in the mood for some old BBC essential mixes. Sander Kleinenberg ATM.
Even easier than using ED via Steam - borderless gaming - https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming - and winamp. You can all out and get voice attack so you can control the music while you're flying.
I just need to say 'kill em all' and my combat playlist starts. Which is fun.
Use the program that I do which is Borderless Gaming. It is very simple to use. First you set the short to -window for windowed mode. Start the program and move warcraft to the other side. From then on it will always change it to borderless after warcraft opens up. Download it here https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases/tag/6.5
> It's so fucking ridiculous that you are punished for buying a game.
You are not really punished. That screenshot function is a steam feature and nothing special for Civ.
If you want to take screenshots try chaging the window mode to "windowed" and use a tool like Borderless Gaming to get it back to fullscreen. Then you should be able to do a screenshot.
Apart from that you can use Fraps or OBS to record your screen (but your computer might not be fast enough, if it is extremely slow).
An IT guy who can't figure out how to game in windowed mode properly? I'm disappointed, but here. Try these.
https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/WindowedBorderlessGaming/discussions/0/846966336037436101/
So many devs don't bother.
Have you tested it with WindowedBorderlessGaming or Borderless Gaming?
There's a tool that you can use to do that called Borderless Gaming. Its main purpose is to let you play games in windowed borderless mode even though they don't have that option, but there's also a tool you can use to hide the cursor.
>So, does anyone know when will those options arrive (or if they already existed)?
Borderless windowed is a popular feature so I'd expect it to make it in eventually but it doesn't exist currently. In the meantime, people are using this as a workaround.
M&D care a lot about accessibility and the game has been designed so that using the keys isn't even necessary. If your disability makes mousing an issue then I expect M&D would like to hear from you about how they can help you out.
>What is the game's stance on befriending people in a more permanent way outside of the game?
The game itself doesn't provide nor prohibit. M&D are aware that some people will want to make friends while some others enjoy the anonymity. Currently a lot of people have appended their character names to their discord names so that someone who finds them in the game can also find them outside the game.
Alright so I found a fix you have to make it windowed borderless. Basically go to this https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases and download it (download it from the assets). Then run the program and run dwarf fortress in windowed mode. Once you do that, open borderless gaming and put dwarf fortress as a something you want to make windowed borderless. Open back up dwarf fortress and alt tab it to make it windowed borderless and it should work perfectly! I hope this helps, just message if you need anymore help.
This is normal, and fairly common for a PC game of its time. It was developed around when CRTs were still common, so in fullscreen mode it switches to (I assume) 640x480 or a similarly small CRT-friendly res.
Anyway, no need to wipe your system & you should be just fine running your OS at the usual 1366x768. Seems like just a weird fluke. You might also want to try the "Borderless Gaming" app with games like this, it takes some tweaking but can be used to run games fullscreen without messing up resolution or anything.
I think I know what you're on about but not sure... However, it's fine another user posted the way to fix it and it's by using Borderless Gaming.

But thank you for trying to help I really do appreciate it,
Well I ended up download this and it works well. It is ridiculous to have to download a 3rd party program to get it to work but it was the last option I had
Try these two:
Go to game's options & use "Exclusive Fullscreen".
Run the game in Windowed Borderless mode by game's options (or Alt+Enter) & if not, with:
This is actually possible if you modify your registry key values.
1. Open Start Menu and search Registry Editor
.
2. In the address bar, go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\miHoYo\Genshin Impact
3. Double click the Screenmanager Is Fullscreen mode
key and set the value to 0.
4. You can also change Screenmanager Resolution Height
and Screenmanager Resolution Width
to your desired size in hexadecimal if needed.
5. Use Borderless Gaming to remove the top borders and make it full screen.
Update: I've fixed the issue by downloading Borderless Gaming
It's still awful that the devs can't natively support this, but at least this is a solution that EAC doesn't currently block!
Borderless Gaming + Windowed Mode solved that for me. EDF 4.1 has the same problem. I'm running a G-Sync Monitor. Haven't tried to disable vsync yet because that also disables the G-Sync functionality but could maybe also help in fullscreen.
i think the devs need to add a ''lock the cursor on the game window'' option, until that you can try playing windowed but using Borderless Gaming, which put your game in fullscreen without borders.
Give borderless gaming a shot, I'm running a old version before the dev for it started charging but it looks like he's back to giving it away for free again.
It's quite new and has a fair share of bugs. I would just put it in Window Mode and use a tool like Borderless Gaming to handle the borderless scaling. Select BFV in the process list and use the arrow to put it in the Favorites list to automatically make it borderless upon launch if Borderless Gaming is running.
Click windows button and then click on maximize window. Or do you want borderless window? In that case you'd need a 3rd party program https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
How do you get notified of Windows software updates? I have release feeds for over 100 Github applications alone, for example: https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases.atom
It's rare for a program to update automatically and almost unheard of automatically getting a notification and the update changelog.
Is Fortnite in fullscreen? A good population of games will get messed up if you alt-tab back in forth from them. Try putting it in "Borderless Windowed" instead of fullscreen. If this isn't an option, try using Borderless Gaming. If you DO have the option for borderless windowed but still experience issues, try Borderless Gaming anyways.
Borderless Gaming software works.
I would also go into Options in Borderless Gaming and choose Run at Startup if you want all of this to happen automatically
I think that you should force VSync always on on Catalyst, leaving the other settings either to the lowest or defaults. [guide]
Borderless Gaming is a free program to remove the window borders and stretch pretty much any game; it works better for me than the default fullscreen of the game (I use it mainly on games that don't have Borderless mode by default and break or take too long to alt+tab on fullscreen). It is pretty easy to use if you decide to try out. [link]
Sorry for taking so long to answer!
https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
Borderless gaming will basically make your windowed mode borderless after you select the window on its GUI. It works as an easy solution for tabbing out, but when the screen loses focus it does stop all audio. Other than that, it's good.
If you prefer borderless windowed mode instead of just windowed mode, download this program https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases . I use it, it's very light and non-intrusive. Takes 1 second to download and run and it will EFT into borderless windowed mode (or any other game you choose that doesn't have the option). Increased my fps by like 20% too, no joke.
Mr. Sampson, I suppose we will disagree on the definition of adware, but I would hope at this point that you would at least acknowledge that you screwed up. In addition to this separate ad window popping up that could not be easily dismissed, you have also in the past tried to hide the source code for BG so that the only way to obtain it was buying it through Steam, then issued takedown notices against people who tried to restore it. And you apparently also tried to retroactively revoke the GPL license after you decided you didn't want BG to be FOSS anymore.
Now I'm sure you will have differences in how I'm describing all of this (what is to me) shady activity you've been pulling with BG, but when I look at how you've responded to all of these events, I find it hard to trust you or any products you create.
Edit: This was what the pop-up ad looked like for those who don't know. A nearly full-screen ad that could not be closed without interacting with it. There was also no way to close it using the Windows taskbar.
Struggling with this as well. My only solution so far is to see if the game supports Window mode and use Borderless Window. This is how I got Sim City 4 workable.
You might be interested in Borderless Gaming. It's a small program that makes windowed games borderless. I've never had any issues with it, though I use it far less often now that borderless mode is becoming more common. It's still useful on the rare indie games or sometimes Japanese ports that don't think to support it.
That's normal for Fullscreen applications. You would need to run the game in Window Mode or Borderless Window Mode. Borderless Window Mode looks like Fullscreen as it removes the blue Windows border and fits it to the screen.
For games that don't have a Borderless mode you can use Borderless Gaming.
