You can't download the Rev 2 update. You have to buy it in the store. If I were you, I'd buy the whole thing again, because a lot of times Rev1+Rev2 is cheaper than just the Rev 2 update alone. Look into these deals if you want to purchase it:
As someone who's used those, it's definitely a lot better than wifi, but not quite as good as having an actual ethernet cable. Games will be much better over that than otherwise.
One minor caveat though, the powerline adapters create noise on your house's power signal. It's not really bad for any of your electronics, especially if you're using decent surge protectors, but if you're a musician and you want to plug your guitar amp into the wall, you'll probably want to unplug the powerline adapters, otherwise they'll create very noticeable buzzing and other noise coming out of your amp. I ended up having to ditch the powerline adapter because it was messing up my audio recording gear.
If that concerns you, you might have another option available. You can run your internet through coax cable instead. My house is a rental and it's practically spiderwebbed with old coax from previous tenants' cable and satellite installations. I got these coax/ethernet adapters on Amazon and traced the old cables to make a direct connection between my room and the router. They've worked like a dream ever since. Speed and latency are even better than on the powerlines, though still not quite as good as direct ethernet to ethernet connections. One thing to note is that these won't work with coax that's in use for actually carrying a TV signal. If you want to do that, there are adapters for it, but they're a lot more expensive.

Not sure if commenting here helps but for the Partial Translation of JP Players discussing Baiken:

Yashagatana is a projectile, and shoots a missile

PLC are devices that uses your plugs to carry your ethernet conection. As long as you dont live in a house with multiple electric circuits (like in a duplex where each floor has its own) you can use them to improve your net stability. Your WiFi will probably be faster but gighting games do not need a lot of speed but stability. here is a link to the one that I use and its great.
To all Wi-Fi players.
Saying that your router is too far is definitely not an excuse.
You can buy a bridge that'll run the signal through the electric cables in your walls. As long as you have an electric socket in the room you play in, you can play wired.
Now please. Everyone paid for the game. Don't be the guy/gal ruining the online for everyone. Heck it'll even downgrade your experience as you'll get blocked by more and more people.
I can aslo understand that some situations prevent you from accessing a decent connection. Rest assured, this reply doesn't concern you.
Have a nice day y'all o/

Playstation pads are always fine, if that's your thing. I think something with a sega-style d-pad would be nicer, Saturn pads were always popular, and 8BitDo make pretty quality products.
Keyboard is fine as long as you have a gaming keyboard that has good rollover.
Oof. Could have gone for the updated 2000-2007 version instead: https://www.amazon.com/dp/4797341483
It adds about 20 pages of additional illustrations that Ishiwatari did from 2004-2007, plus a summary of Ishiwatari's illustration workflow.
You could also try to get those symbols from the PC version (hopefully from the assets or maybe from screenshots) and then use [http://potrace.sourceforge.net/] potrace to transform them into vector graphics that you can then scale up. Note that there may be some copyright issues with that (not sure, IANAL).
I started with a standard Elegoo Mars and then upgraded to a Photon Mono X more recently. $399 is a fine place to start, you could even start with a sub $200 printer, it all depends on your needs and how many models you plan on making/how big you're trying to get your prints. Pricier printers are really just a premium for print area size and overall printing speed. As for resin, I primarily use Elegoo Standard Grey, but have recently dabbled with Ameralabs TGM-7 LED, very pricy but the models are truly almost fall-proof compared to the far more brittle Elegoo Standard https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08ZXNFDL7/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o00\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You could be connected to the fiber line at Google headquarters and your connection would still be trash if it's wireless. Packets show up late or in the wrong order or not at all and need to be resent. For web browsing and mundane office tasks, this is not a big deal. Even streaming video can deal with it with buffering.
When you've got a program that involves two humans who need to interact with each other with split second reactions, there's no buffer that can solve the problem with consistency on wireless. With an Ethernet cable, data frames move in both directions, at the same speed. Rollback solves the issue of it taking a long time to cross that cable. There is absolutely no solution for the wireless problem.
I couldn't reasonably run a cable across my house, either. I use one of these, and have had no issues. I've got four devices wired up to a switch on that thing, and I haven't heard complaints from anyone I've played online.
Hori arcade sticks are my go to. Unfortunately they range from $120-$200, but worth it depending on how often you'll use it. I have one I got about 10 years ago that I'm still using (Hori Real Arcade Pro 3).
Here is the updated version of my stick for $150:
https://smile.amazon.com/HORI-Real-Arcade-Pro-PlayStation-4/dp/B00SULMRI4
it has a move list but it doesnt mention anything about frame data
you should download an app called Gunframe once you get the game, it shows you everything you need to know about the moves, It even has a punish menu

The best one I can recommend is an older Guilty Gear or Dragon Ball Fighter Z, I don't think that there are any free games that can get close to what this games offer.
The older Guilty Gear (Specially AC+R) is really cheap, right now is 3€ in Green man gaming and have a few people playing, there you can have an idea of how the netcode works if you play on PC and a general idea of some of the character. Most of them changed A LOT in Strive, combo gatling is totally different, same with Roman Cancel and Strive has a lot less mechanics, but you can get an overall feeling of what Guilty Gear is
On the other hand, Dragon Ball Fighter Z it's a much simpler fighting game that can give you an idea of how this kind of games play. It's a really simple game and easy to understand since all the special attacks are quarter-circle forward or backwards. The main difference here is that you need to use three characters instead of one.
Guilty Gear doesn't play nice with controllers that vary like that from my experience. I've been able to use DS4Windows to trick the game into reading the DualShock4 as an xbox 360 controller, try it out.
I think I know what you're on about but not sure... However, it's fine another user posted the way to fix it and it's by using Borderless Gaming.

But thank you for trying to help I really do appreciate it,
You've got the right idea (jump attack > 6H > H.Stroke is the best jump-in combo in many situations), but the roman cancel ender you're doing here will only work if they are fully in the corner already.
Try working on something like this, which will work in both the corner and mid-screen. Conceptually, you want to think about getting them into the air so you can do the horizontal dive for maximum corner-carry. Jump Dust is great after RC because it pops them up higher.
Then you will want to learn how to break that wall in the corner without burning meter on an RC, so you can save the meter for other things.
Wouldn't ShareX work for this? You can capture region as either video or GIF.
Also to record c.S, you can just have Zato Break the Law in front of you in Training Mode, something like this.
Just wanna shout you out again. Your comment about how to view stance cancel jackhound input immediately made me better at it. Major props for this video.
It's a few more frames of input delay. It certainly feels worse but I've beaten people while doing it. It's not something I did for an extended period of time, I was mostly just curious. But it's definitely playable.
But hot tip: Try Moonlight Game Streaming. It's an app available on the Google Play store that can play all the same games as steam link but has less latency and maybe even higher image quality. If you can download it it to your viewing device and have GeForce Experience on your PC, it's a better option for gaming.
PS4 Mini Wired Gamepad (Black) by HORI - Officially Licensed by Sony https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A6MKVEG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PYE4KQY683R0VZARKRS6
Here’s my recommendation. The controller is a little on the small side, but it allows me to play long sessions without the Dpad destroying my thumb due to the constant quarter circle and half circle inputs.
If the gaps are what bother you, you should look into something like a Saturn pad. Sega always did their d-pads as a single piece of plastic, so you can just kinda roll your thumb across it for motions. It's a bit less precise in a way, but makes diagonals easier and should hurt the pad of your thumb less.
8bitdo make one, and I'm sure others make something similar. Razer's Raion, the ugly Madcatz fight pad, and the PowerA Fusion all seem close, with the six face buttons and sega-style pad.
Have you thought of trying a fight pad instead? Probably way more in line with your budget for a quality one. Hori makes good stuff. The Fighting Commander 4 was great and they just released its successor on Xbox S/X so hopefully it'll come to PS5 soon.

I find the Xbone controller super comfortable to use for fighting games. Generally I use the D-pad for inputs.

There's a variant with individual buttons, but I do prefer the +. The sides are softened to boot, so it's not murder on the thumb.
if the deal breaker is it looking crazy, get a flat cable like this, for instance, for at little as $15 it looks like, run it under rugs and/or nail it tightly against baseboard trim in between your gaming device and the router.
have you tried this yet? http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/guilty-gear-strive/20546
really useful if theres a game that you dont know if you can run
This is what I use:
https://github.com/zadam/trilium
I've also used OneNote before and like it, just don't feel like giving Microsoft money. I just use this to keep notes, links, and backups to things I find and things I lab and figure out mid-match. Pretty easy to organize it however you want. You can just download and run it, or you can host it on a server to access it on a network.
Used it for a year on PC and PlayStation. Good controller. I really like the circular D-Pad, but it got loose for me after one year. If you can get one for around 50 bucks on sale it's a good purchase, for the original price of 100 it's overpriced.
Alternatively I recommend the newest Hori Octa. It's brand new and I really like it, can't speak for durability of course.
10mm White Eva foam. Used an exacto knife to cut it,https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B014LPIC1I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this to sand it, E6000 glue to put it together, and spray paint to colour it.
A pair of white Puma Basketball shoes that I drew on with fabric markers for the desired look. I got them from a store that specifically sells shoes but I think this is the same pair on amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/PUMA-Rebound-Layup-White-Black/dp/B07GR21QXV/ref=asc_df_B07GR21QXV/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=337116001394&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5137860623598054998&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&h...
And the fabric markers I used:
https://www.amazon.ca/Markers-Unique-Colors-T-Shirt-Set-Double-Ended/dp/B075XQZQ62
If you want something that looks like Faust's shoes without having to spend a lot of time drawing on them, I unfortunately don't know a pair.
If you're not deadset on getting a stick I can recommend this pad.
It's brand new and I've been having a blast with it. The circular D-Pad probably won't last that long, but so far it's been super precise and comfy.
I'm not wholly convinced it would look good on anyone. It's weirdly proportioned and exaggerated in a way that I think would ultimately make it look kind of costumey on whoever wore it. But it's definitely pretty feminine- doesn't mean you can't wear it and look good. But if you're concerned about people looking at you thinking "is that a woman's jacket?" then I think you maybe should be.
Maybe just get something like this and customize it with some guilty gear swag/buttons.
I don't, sadly! I actually thrifted both the cape and skirt. The cape shape is effectively just a smaller cape, so you can use a protractor to make the inner shape. I cut the capelet shape out just using scissors, then just adjusted until the shape came out okay. I applied the logos using a fabric marker, but I think if I redo them, I'll just cut fabric out.
For both the skirt and the cape, these are the buckles I used. I used foam board to make the clasps for the left side, then used balled-up model magic to make little buttons, but in retrospect, I regret not just using actual buttons because I couldn't actually close the capelet. I just sewed the buckles on for the right hand side.
As for the skirt, I used a maxi dress as the base which was a little big, but the soles from the motorcycle boots gave me juuust enough extra height that it didn't touch the ground. ~~They also absolutely killed my feet motorcycle boots are not designed to be walked around in please make boot covers~~
On the left side, I used some velcro fabric so I could close up the seam to cut back on the Marilyn Monroe moments. On the right, the buckles were the same ones as for the capelet, then the actual supports for the buckles were also made from foam board with thin plastic on top, then I painted them using wide strokes to give them the brushed metal look. I used actual buttons for the skirt specifically because I wanted it to be able to close up.
I think that about covers it! Let me know if you have any other questions about anything!!
I used to play on a standard Xbox one controller, and eventually my thumbs hurt after playing for extended periods cause the d pad would just hurt my thumbs. Looked around online for a new controller and I would recommend the hori fighting commander. So far it’s lasted me about 6 months with no issues, the d pad feels great and the stick is notched so the inputs are more clear and feel better if you wanted to use it. Only ‘problem’ is that it remaps rb and rt (I guess for PlayStation it’s be r1 and r2) as buttons on the pad itself next to square, triangle circle and x. L1 and L2 are where r1 and r2 would be l, and left stick press and right stick press are where L1 and L2 would normally be. Takes some time getting used to but it feels so much better to use than the default Xbox controller. Of course I got the Xbox version but this one is for PlayStation
HORI PlayStation 5 Fighting Commander OCTA - Tournament Grade Fightpad for PS5, PS4, PC - Officially Licensed by Sony https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09RQTTWPQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_YQGZDWZYQK18GT34VEKY
PS5 doesn't have much in the way of pads right now as far as I know. There's the Hori Fighting Commander Octa coming in a few months. I use the Xbox version on PC, and while I love it, I am in the middle of RMAing it due to the d-pad giving out in one corner. For now the PS4 version of the game can be played on the PS5 to allow access to an expanded range of pads like the DualShock 4 or older Fighting Commander.
Btw, for the Scythe, what have you two been thinking?
I bought a Skull Funnel after Halloween (to take advantage of the sales) from Spirit Halloween because I figured that I could use it as a Mortal Kombat accessory, but now I'm thinking of using it for the Scythe.

Also, _Sethpai_, what did you use for the pole of the Scythe?
I bought these ones off Amazon!
I wound up gambling on drilling small holes into the sides and supporting them with hardware on the inside. I’m on my way to work, but I’ll edit and add a picture when I get home tonight.
I’m really happy with how they turned out, but getting the look I wanted on my waist has the huge downside of the skulls not actually being balanced on an axis that leaves them upright, so unless they’re supported on my waist, they roll backward and I found myself adjusting them all weekend.
If I were to do them again, I’d consider making the hole a bit farther back so they sit more balanced, but because of how they’re designed, I’m not sure how sturdy they’ll be.
Hope this helps!
The good ol' gamer thumb!
I'm bouldering multiple times a week, so my hands are already pretty callused up from all the crimps and slopers, so it's affected me a lot less lately. I've seen plenty of climbers use these acupressure massage rings 1 though to increase circulation in their fingers and reduce pain, so perhaps this might be something to consider if you're feeling localized pain in them.

You can. I do all the time at my FGC club and local tournaments.

That's the one I use and it works well, no idea how well other brands work.
this one should convert most xbox controllers to ps3/ps4 if its wired
otherwise if you wish to be wireless use this 8bitdo controller adapter
I had a bad time with the DualSense when I was playing on PS5. I use an XSX controller on PC and it’s a lot more consistent for me. You should be able to mod the DualSense, though, if you order a compatible replacement for the d-pad and are comfortable with opening the controller up.
I haven’t done this myself, but I’ve seen a few people recommend ordering one of these and it seems like everyone who does is in unanimous agreement that it’s a great choice for relatively cheap, with the added benefit of making the d-pad more usable for other games, as well.
There’s a PS5-compatible Hori controller coming out sometime soon, but that’ll run you the price of a DualSense.
I really really love this pad. Don’t feel like I ever have input issues. Only reason I would swap is because I wish it had more buttons - all good functionally but I don’t have enough buttons to map taunt and some other “extra” buttons.
It’s great entry level IMO because of the price. And if you decide you want a nice fight stick later - less money sunk into this controller.

Yup.
If you want to bring UE4 models, consider the Paragon models. They're MOBA characters, but still - free professional level UE4 models! Can even be used commercially.
Wound up giving this one a shot. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NDVGXGB/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_DXXDQHMT79JCPQ8NJ7QN
Haven't tried it yet. I play strive on PC but am Xbox for everything else. Will get to test it out tonight.
4k is a shorthand for 3840x2160 and you use 1080p so that is fine. HWiNFO64 is a great program for getting info about temps/voltage/usage. It's gives you alot of info but you should check if your temps on the CPU or GPU exceeds 95 °C and that they are not pegged at 100% utilization.
Here is a link to the download-page: https://www.hwinfo.com/download/
You should go with the Installer for windows 32/64-bit. On there page now so do they ask you to download "lan sweeper" and you can just ignore that one.
If any of the temps are to hight so might you need to clean out your laptop or if they have 100% CPU utilization so could there be some bloatware running in the background.
.7z files are like boxes but for files which requires a special way to open them like .zip files if you know what those are. To open .7z files you right click them and choose “open with” then 7Zip. If that doesn’t show up as a option then try this website to download 7zip via choosing the very top option dated 2021-11-24, the system tab saying “64-bit Windows x64” and the description should say it’s 7Zip for windows. There’s other options to download if that doesn’t work like if your computer isn’t a windows computer but if it is a window’s computer that option should hopefully work (or the option underneath for “32-bit Windows x86”).
Anyways once you extract the .7Zip file you should end up with a folder called unverum which inside the folder there should be a application with a unverum icon (being this V). I forgot to mention that once you try to open it, it’ll request you download .NET if you don’t have it which I think you have to download either the console or the desktop 64 but versions, I’m not too sure.
Then lastly is the steps shown in the video of putting the root folder for guilty gear strive into unverum then lastly actually installing mods and opening the game with mods turned on.
Hopefully this information helps you get the mods you want and any future mods you may want, if there’s more issues or stuff you’re confused about you can ask
I personally got the NACON Daija as my first stick. Extremely solid and accurate. Comes with two stick variations to try out too. Amazon link official website link
I was looking at sticks a while back and found that 8bitdo makes one that’s <$100 and it’s also wireless if you’re into that(you can plug it in if you want). The joystick and buttons are hot-swappable so if you want some better tuff down the line, it’s a safe bet. Also the battery life is killer and I rarely ever have to charge it
Here’s a like if you’re interested :

Try using ds4windows. You get a lot of extra functionality from that program, including options to set direct input/xinput and such. I either have to use that program or steam input when using my ds4.
I'm still on windows 7, mostly because of problems like this.
Not a direct one, but check out Strive’s section on gg.deals. The price from official stores stays firm but from key stores changes everyday, sometimes higher sometimes lower so you might want to wait for the best deal.
I tried this method just recently (5 minutes ago) And to be honest, it works, but I'm not the biggest fan of it, The pixels look more blurry than the website claims. But if I need to find another solution then this is definitely a second option, Another user posted Borderless Gaming. And that works better for me.
But thank you for helping anyway.
>You'd be wrong in this assumption.
That's why sometimes superficial knowledge can be worse than no knowledge at all.
If you are going to say something works a certain way you better be sure. And if someone tells you otherwise you should stay open minded and try it out. Instead of going into training mode, you write and essay and insist on your wrong take. Here you go.

Really no offense, but I don't like it when people start spouting stuff they know little about and spread that wrong info around. It gets a little annoying. Though I'm sure your intentions weren't bad in any way, be more careful next time. That's not something targeted specifically at you but those kinds of people in general.
Sure let me record an example real quick.
You can do this ender after an RRC on any Stroke hit. 66RC/5RC > dash > j.D > c.S > j.D > H.Stroke (hop) > j.S > wallbreak.
And here is that ender applied to extend an H.Stroke combo That's H.Stroke > 6H > H.Stroke into the RRC combo above.
The neutral game is mostly about positioning, I would say. Trying to get to a positional advantage where you can force uncomfortable mind games on your opponent. Since almost every character has strong movement options, this is pretty much key to everything.
GG is about getting knockdows for the most part. The wakeup game is so strongly in favour for the attacker that it's borderline ridiculous at times. But to solve that they have also implemented a set of counters to allow spectacular comebacks. The "guts system" raises your defense when you are low on health and you gain more tension. You have defensive options such as dead angle and burst to get the opponent off you, and a single succesful slashback can turn the game around (not to mention how strong airthrows and ordinary throws are)
If you have a decently good computer, you can play GGXXAC Online. https://sites.google.com/site/ggxxaconline/
Edit: as for reload online... reload is not a bad game, but in my opinion, AC is so much better. If you have an option to play AC, then go for that
Even though I suck at Tekken it taught me how to do motions on my controller. I can do dp motions pretty easily on my controller now... the easiest way I can explain it is after forward do a quarter circle. Don't actually try to do a "z" motion
I use this controller for my fighting games on pc. Ps4 controller dpad makes my hand hurt after extended use. https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Tournament-Controller-Officially-Licensed-Pokemon/dp/B01A6LEXFK
If you are playing on PC like I am, I can not recommend 8BitDo's stick enough. It has a low cost for the features it has, the stick and buttons are totally customizable, it offers 2.4 Gz Wireless, Bluetooth, and Wired. Here's an Amazon Link
I personally bought some Sanwa buttons and a new stick to upgrade this with. It's super simple to do. (Changing the stick requires a little bit of light soldering, though).
If on PS4 or 5...I don't have any personal recommendations. I do know Razer's fightstick is really good, albeit pricey. Hopefully someone else will have PS4/5 recommendations.
You can't ignore the DeffMod, when talking about Guts. They both serve as balancing and character aspects. Some people should have a risky feeling to their gameplay or should have a low deff, because they are very strong on the offensive side of things. To stop people from spamming Guard she has a high DeffMod of 1.18, but she is although a hard to kill bitch, so she gets good GUTS, because she fights for her life. For the last 20% of life you although get an increased or decreased time with better Overdrives. This means a character is in Hellfire State earlier or later than "20%". Another possible aspect: It can be easier to balance and think about for the designers. It is easier to think in realtive health, than in absolute. Should Sol have 25hp more or 30hp? How about he should be a badass, that takes 10% less damage!
ps: Arc Sys already tested linear health in fighting games with Battle Fantasia. They either didn't like it or it was not adequat for their purpose or it made no difference.

Here's one from just at the end of last month.
Gee....I wonder what that could mean? "Can't see anything through this <strong>Steam</strong>", you say? Hmmmm.....I wonder.....
Colorblind dude here - better this time around, but post launch and boss are still indistinguishable for me. Here’s one of my favorite articles about designing for accessibility.
Formatting aside, this is a cool chart and a great reference for discussing possible future additions to the roster. Thanks for posting!
I have a PS3/PS4 official venom arcade stick and it works flawlessly on my ps5. I think only sticks that aren't official products have problems.
Razer Raion Fightpad for PS4, PS5 Fighting Game Controller: 8 Way D-Pad - Mechanical Switch Front Buttons - 3.5mm Headset Jack – Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YNL6KSB/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_Z7N1MT8CTNDCM3Q8CG7F
So fight sticks can be a pretty in-depth subject as you've probably already figured out. It's almost overwhelming to decide on your first one with no prior knowledge of what you do and don't like, and then availability and pricing is always in question.
I ended up going with a really simple option: https://www.8bitdo.com/arcade-stick/
It's $159 Canadian, it's easily available, and I already have controllers from 8BitDo that I like so it seemed like a safe bet.
Just make sure to also get the octagon plate for it (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B004AU0H4U) because it comes with a square one that IMO is great for sidescrollers and awful for fighters.
This isn't the most customizable fight stick out there by far (it's made to look like a snes controller after all) but so far I've found it comfortable and reliable to use. Best part is, it's wireless and supports both Switch and PC (XInput).
I recommend this
I don't bring it out often but when I do I lose less matches because of the controller.
I bought these and it seems to be broadly the same thing? There was only like, a millimeter of difference in the corners and cardinals, but it makes a HUGE difference in being completely unable to hit corners.
Sorry for the super late response, but for the harness I just used a yellow laptop bag strap, this one specifically: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M71X68V?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
I also used double-sided velcro wrapped around the syringe itself so the hooks had something to hold onto, and I used the velcro as well to hold the harness in place with the belt around my waist (any belt is fine, since it isn't visible.)
Hope that helps!!
Here ya go, I got it as a low price entry into learning hitboxes, and I fuckin love the thing.

Well that's an interesting point of view:
>But moving a lever requires moving your entire wrist as opposed to just twitching your thumb.
This sounds like it would tire the hand much faster and I've never considered it before!
> You can kind of think of stick as a Lower sensitivity way to do input.
And that's something I'd like to try, but just because it seams more forgiving.
>I can feel the corners of a square gate so I know I'm in a diagonal position. Dpads don't often provide that feedback.
This. I must admit, I feel like this would make quite the difference in the learning process, as a clear feedback can help solidify a correct movement.
>If you're on PC you can try using a Saturn USB controller for a bigger dpad.
I'm on console, but that's looking good as well! So I've found a Hori, as you said, what do you think about [this]https://www.amazon.com/Fighting-Commander-PlayStation-Officially-Licensed-4/dp/B01GVOFIAA/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=KRKP1H909UG9&dchild=1&keywords=playstation+fight+pad&qid=1631559764&sprefix=PlayStation+fig&sr=8-3 ?
First off, always go into training mode and troubleshoot your input problems. Make sure your input display is on so you can see what mistake you're making.
Common opinion is "stick doesn't make you better magically" and that's true, but that doesn't mean it can't help. You'll still have to relearn and there will be a learning curve, for sure. People act like they're the same and it's just preference but there are objective differences.
Kara cancels are going to be more difficult on a pad, if the buttons aren't next together, your thumb can only hit 2 buttons at once if they're adjacent, that's just a fact, stick wins there. But moving a lever requires moving your entire wrist as opposed to just twitching your thumb.
You can kind of think of stick as a Lower sensitivity way to do input. There's more distance between each direction so if you're doing stuff accidentally it might help you. Sticks also have the tactile feedback of a gate and hitting the microswitches. I can feel the corners of a square gate so I know I'm in a diagonal position. Dpads don't often provide that feedback.
I find most dpads small, so if you like pad you might try something bigger like a hori fighting commander. If you're on PC you can try using a Saturn USB controller for a bigger dpad

could anyone recommend any fight sticks for me? i have the Mayflash F500 right now but it's way too big and heavy, and i was looking for something a bit smaller and nicer.
does anyone have a recommendation for an arcade stick that is small, lightweight, and well-built/has nice buttons?
> literally all bar Guilty gear I have on my xbox where I have no problem with tricky to nonsense inputs.
If you want to use xbox controllers(in my personal personal opinion, the current Series X controllers are the absolute best main console controllers so far, and I hate DS4 with a passion for fighting games), there are converters you can use, like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Brook-Wingman-Support-Controller-Converter/dp/B08B82M9TG/
It's not uncommon for people to go with these to tournaments given that the standard was PS4 for a long time, though be aware that depending on the converter there might be an extra frame delay.
If your sole reason for wanting an arcade stick is to not have to play with PS controllers, then probably no, not worth it. If you're otherwise curious about learning the stick just for the novelty, or you figure you might want to switch over eventually, by all means. Nowadays, sticks/controllers/hitboxes are really only up to preference, most current games are lenient enough that it doesn't matter, as long as the individual model itself isn't shit.
Additionally, you can try dpad caps like these,
http://www.goldenshop.com/ai/images/products/product_info/39_82_dpad.jpg
they usually cost 1-2 bucks so it's a cheap investment just to try if they solve the main issue.
If you are a fighting game enthusiast, I would suggest trying a stick at some point. I personally find some games feel much better on stick and plenty are comfortable on pad. It all boils down to preference.
I play this game on stick. It's way better imho. Assigning a button per finger feels like the intended way to play zato.
That being said, there's an amazing zato called knowkami that absolutely obliterates as zato using pad.

The problem with deciding for pad or stick is that you need a stick and some time to decide if the purchase was even a good one. I'm using what is considered the best bargain arcade stick atm. It's the cheapest you can get while still being quality enough to decide if you like using stick AT ALL. (mayflash f300. It's the price of a normal controller. Not a bad investment imho)
Im just curious how it compares to cheaper mechanical keyboards with full n key rollover like https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-K552-Mechanical-Keyboard-Equivalent/dp/B016MAK38U/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?crid=280B0939LF1SJ&dchild=1&keywords=mechanical+gaming+keyboard&qid=1630668759&sprefix=mechanical+&sr=8-2
Here is my recommendation for anyone getting a new pad for fighting games: The HORI Fighting Commander for PlayStation 3 & 4.
This has been my favorite pad to play GG on by far.
Yeah man, I would highly recommend getting off the Xbox controller, the Dpad on them is so damn taxing and not as responsive as it should be. When I made the switch it helped so much with hand fatigue/cramping. You don't realize how much energy you expend trying to get a crappy pad to work until you switch to a good one.
Also if you make the switch: Don't stress if you find yourself accidentally hitting the R1 R2 face buttons a lot at first, it's just your hands getting used to different controller spacing and you'll adapt quickly.
I've been been really liking the 8BitDo fight stick I recently got. Wireless and customizable. I replaced the square gate with an octagonal one.
https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Arcade-Stick-Switch-Windows-nintendo/dp/B08GJC5WSS
This is 150 but it's probably the closest you will get to your budget for something decent, I use that but I replaced the hayabusa buttons with sanwa for like 10$.
I'm typically a stick user, but when I first got Strive I didn't have a stick yet.
In the meantime I used a Hori Fighting Commander, which is basically a controller with a massive d-pad and a stick button layout. I really liked it!

qanba crystal. $150, i have one, highly recommended, also it lights up!!
Old school D pad is tough . You’ll want something like this at least to make your life easier.
Razer Raion Fightpad for PS4, PS5 Fighting Game Controller: 8 Way D-Pad - Mechanical Switch Front Buttons - 3.5mm Headset Jack – Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YNL6KSB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_GZJ1W4KJRGWHZ1CEKH5A
I prefer something with a sega d-pad. A Hori Fighting Commander is basically the same thing with a nintendo-style dpad.
PS4 Mini Wired Gamepad (Black) by HORI - Officially Licensed by Sony https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A6MKVEG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_3TFA9177BT2N4HREZRC3
This works well enough and is like half the price of a DS4.

If the fight stick you recently got doesn’t work out for you, you should consider checking out this Hori Gamepad. It’s a little smaller than a DS4 controller and since the Dpad is combined into one unit it allows quarter circle and half circle inputs to be made without putting too much tension on your thumb. Also the price isn’t too bad in my opinion.
I feel you on getting that little callus on your thumb due to repetitive rubbing on the dpad. Definitely limits the amount of time I play during a session.
I like to use a Hori licensed Gamepad that has a dpad that has all four directions combined as a single unit. It allows me to make quarter circle and half circle inputs with minimum tension on my thumb, which allows me to play longer sessions.

It’s a rather small controller compared to the DS4, but you get used to the size pretty quickly. I also feel like the price isn’t too bad.
and would this one work if i had to buy a new one? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GJC5WSS/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&aaxitk=bd46f7486b9a0e9b9caa87ce68b93728&hsa_cr_id=7665346710301&pd_rd_plhdr=t&pd_rd_r=3909a73b-f89f-414c-90f4-d0a8386b2d69&pd_rd_w=omqop&pd_rd_wg=...
Also consider this stick Mayflash F300 Arcade Fight Stick Joystick for Xbox Series X, PS4,PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Switch, NeoGeo mini, NeoGeo Arcade Stick Pro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019MFPLC0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_WEM9H0Y84BHP85FW0WV2 really nice starter stick also open to modding you can see alot of examples in r/fightsticks
Yeah, when your goal becomes "get good" you invariably have to face a lot of things that are simply not fun. This is true with art, music, academics, and sports. For me what mentally helps is recognizing that these stretches of grinding rather than the times of fun are what actually push me closer to my goals.
I think your desire to "want it" and find a way to make it work is what will ultimately determine whether you can climb the mountain. Honestly most people can work hard when having fun and feeling motivated, but the real test is if you can weather the storm when all that drains away, a lot of people don't have that or the desire to overcome that. Personally, just recognizing this principle helps me grapple with it and push through when it's feeling bad, this is a good book that discusses the path of mastery. I think a big part of being an "adult" or better put, behaving like a professional, is learning to get shit done even when it's not fun. It's not about finding things that work for you but rather figuring out how to make things work for you.
It also comes down to your goals, how quickly, and how good you're trying to get. I'm trying to get to a professional level and make a career switch, but if you're keeping it a hobbyist level then there's a lot more leniency.
I really agree with everyone on this thread that the Hori RAP 4 Kai is a good stick, especially with me being an owner of the stick myself. But I think I can speak for everyone when I say if you have enough money to spare, or if you want to invest more into a stick, go with the HORI Real Arcade Pro N. It's an overall upgrade to the RAP 4 because of the headphone jack, better cable compartment, along with all of the base functions of the RAP 4.
I thought I'd just add that into the mix since you're in the market for a new stick.
I haven't tried it myself, but the Hori Fighting Commander 4 has a more ergonomic grip. But I also hear issues about dpad due to it being adjustable.
On PC I use my PS2 controller with a Super JoyBox 5 Pro, and on PS3 I use another USB adapter that also works on Xbox 360, which I found on Amazon.
