Hi, I would like to share with you the way to run the game on your Android phone/tablet:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eltechs.es&hl=en
Install Homeworld on your PC^a)
Copy the Homeworld folder to the ExaGear folder in your device internal storage (/sdcard/exagear/)
Run Exagear and run the main executable
Notes:
a) The version you use should run without CD
That BSOD is more often caused by drivers/hardware than games itselves, so from the name I'd doubt HW would fix that issue. You'd need some more information about that (like where/which file caused the violation, how long after system was boot up etc., a good tool for this if BlueScreenView).
Rarely, it can also be a problem for overclocking your CPU, but often it's some bad drivers/old versions, or things like some "smart" keyboard (expensive gaming macro capable)/headset (7.1 USB) with wrong drivers/unsupported drivers for Win 8 / put in USB 3.0 port (I've often noticed that some devices don't really work well in 3.0, mostly the ones I listed, other-than-generic keyboards and USB headsets).
You're both right. The novel's concept was originally written for an MMO pitch, turned into a RPG for a post-to-play game forum and eventually into the published novel.
I guess I'm new. I've been here for a week or so after hearing about the re-release.
Only 6 hours, 43 minutes left!

If you want to go deeper into what causes the problem...
Note that on Windows 8 they removed Windows NT compatibility, so you need to download the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit and set the exe to run on as a Windows NT program. Specifically when Homeworld and Cataclysm runs in OpenGL they send an API call (GetVersion and GetVersionExA as I can see from debugging) to Windows asking what version Windows is, and if it doesn't send back WindowsNT, it'll not work. More info on what specific fix the game needs: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749574(v=ws.10).aspx I've been trying to either reverse engineer the exe so it skips the version check or make a loader program that intercept the API call and returns it as Windows NT, but as my knowledge in these things is limited it's taking a very long time.
Yes! Vincent Van Diemen, the guy who was the driving force behind the failed Kickstarter for Nexus 2 and worked with the original Jupiter Incident team joined these guys :) http://www.indiedb.com/games/shallow-space/news/a-grand-unification
You can use the Borderless Gaming app to get it to run for now, but I agree, it should be built-in. I don't think upvoting a post on Reddit will get the word to Gearbox though, you should probably post this on their forums or something.
I scoured the entire source code of the website looking for some way to subscribe to email list updates for pre-orders! Nothing but the generic feedback email (which I emailed, asking for mailing list or preorders, and they haven't responded). Gah - want that 12" so bad.
the scaling difficulty mod has been integrated in the 2.3 unofficial patch which is also reccomended

It was sold off their website when they had a collector's edition. You could pick and choose what you wanted. I just bought the Kol by itself.
Edit: This collectors edition was late in the game, perhaps along with the final expansion.
Hey mate,
I live in Ireland too. I just ordered it from Amazon france, it delivers for 11e to IE. You should consider this, that would solve your issue
I've read somewhere that it would release at around noon at Central Time... I'm not sure if that's from an official source, though.
There's also this clock that someone set up.

Cool I may give it a go. There are several 3d printable models on thingiverse as well. For those without printers if you can find the .stl file you can go to 3dhubs.com and see how much it would cost for a local 3d printer to do this for, save the hassle and issues with keeping a 3d printer!
edit: http://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=homeworld&sa= some of the other models to print easily
https://www.patreon.com/beghins?ty=h Ill just leave this here: Complex 10 is real, and its on its way, Beghins split from Gearbox and develops it with his team alone via kickstarter now- and its gonna be more of everything- If they get the support that is

While we can't be certain of that. Knowing that BBI has a great set of tools already developed on Unity, and also knowing that epic has a far better split for UE4 and Unity based games (https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/announcing-the-epic-games-store), I would not consider that totally impossible to happen.
An alternate solution in the meantime would be to bundle the compatibility fix into a ready-made installer (using Inno Setup or whatever). Packages can be installed silently with sdbinst -q -u <path>; this is part of Windows (the compatibility tookit isn't needed) but a full path must be given (this added complexity is why I opted for the simpler ACT method). Some GOG.com installers use sdbinst in this way. I've thought about making such installers myself but I don't know enough about Inno scripting.
Looks like patch 2.3 has all the bug fixes introduced in earlier patches and balance changes to account for these bug fixes. I'd play with the latest patch then. The latest patch available here:
>I'm also impressed with Epic and their creation of a public Trello board to document their roadmap.[1] I work in open source, where this is much more common, so as far as opacity and not addressing concerns, I'm not seeing that. Their blog is updated frequently with progress too. [2]
Perhaps we're talking specifically about adapting their policies around exclusives, which I agree they do not seem to changing.
Sorry, I completely forgot about it. I tried going back to the facebook link but its been buried. Here is the best I could come up with with some googling.

Just found these. Looks like a fairly comprehensive collection from all games, plus some addons :)
Enjoy, and make sure to post photos of your completed craft!
Make sure you have a .pdo viewer installed, such as Pepakura Viewer
There would be a lot of fans that would come back to the series if another Homeworld game comes out. The only problem is, Where would it fit into the story? Homeworld 2's ending didn't leave much room for anything after it, Deserts of Kharak did the Prequel thing, and Homeworld: Cataclysm (Now called Homeworld: Emergence on GOG.com ) filled the Gap between Homeworld 1 and Homeworld 2. They would need to be extremely crafty to fit another game in.
>I don't see salvage used much. Even in the original HW1C, single player, the strategy to beat missions fastest wasn't to salvage.
Uh, what?
Like every guide, including the official strategy guide of which I had a copy (yes...I know), recommended very heavy use of salvage corvettes throughout the game, not to the extent some walkthroughs do, but salvaging things like the Multi-beam frigates and the heavy cruisers 5-6 missions before you can build them yourself is key to cruising through the mid to late missions.
Even in remastered, I've got a fleet of 200+ including 4 heavy cruisers by the time I'm in the Bridge of Sighs.
BlueCanvas is a company that makes Art Prints and Books. They also did the art of journey book http://www.amazon.com/The-Art-Journey-Matthew-Nava/dp/0985902213/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A1OHDQZW8WOBKM
For some reason Amazon is selling the CE again, not sure why but I just bought one from there and cancelled my non-functioning Newegg order: http://www.amazon.com/Homeworld-Remastered-Collectors-Edition-Pc/dp/B00K6ZUOQE/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8&colid=4GVGBRVKOUBI&coliid=I208F8Y08E4PXX
Figured I should post it here too since we were all getting screwed...
The only game I purchased from Amazon has had an Amazon downloader to a custom installer which gave me an executable which gave me a Steam key. Which sounds really ridiculous, and it was.
