But at least they proved they're GDPR-compliant by handing over the data...
Of course, based on my limited understanding of the GDPR they now have less than 72 hours to decide if they need to report this to the relevant data protection authority; if they fail to do so, that's up to a fine of 10 million euros or 2 per cent of global turnover (although unlikely in this case).
And that's on top of any consequences for failing to secure the data in the first place (in practice, probably the more serious thing).
And they need to document all this. And probably go over a lot of their stuff to make sure it doesn't happen again. And probably some other stuff.
Then there's the possibility of suing - although that probably won't get far depending on where they're based. The Epic Store EULA has a binding arbitration clause, but that may not hold in some places (generally the EU doesn't like them), same with the limitations on liability and choice of law rules and so on. Might be difficult to show damage, though.
As an aside; they really should do the standard thing of having a separate section in their EULA for EU people - as with the Steam Subscriber Agreement - whereby the med-arb clause isn't valid. Although they do have a reference to the EU's Online Dispute Resolution Platform.

They are actually there but just removed from homepage and search doesn't show up either. 😂
They are on sale too.

You can play games on Epic offline, here's how
If that doesn't work, then it means that they designed Metro Exodus to require online DRM at all times, which yeah would be a dick move by Deep Silver.
Answer: to give a bit more context, the Epic Store is pretty much objectively inferior to the Steam Store when it comes to features. It currently has a roadmap with lots of to-be-implemented features that Steam already has, including cloud saves and a shopping cart.
The reason these exclusivity deals are happening is because of benefits to the game developer/publisher: the Epic Store takes a smaller cut of sales than Steam does, and Epic is presumably paying for these deals. This is good for the game creators, but players are upset because they view this as Epic throwing their money around to force their way into the digital distribution market without doing the work of building a storefront that people want to use.

Some notable ones that can be played on a Mac:
EDIT:
As with regular computers, check your Macs specifications against the minimum and recommended specs to ensure your Mac can run it. Some features such as crossplay between Mac and PC may be missing.
Additional note:
The man asked:
> What games would you play on Mac lmao
This list answers that question. Yes, your mileage may vary and yes it's not every game in existence but it's a decent amount of notable titles compared to what was available almost a decade ago. However, for some people who prefer MacOS over Windows 7/10 this is a useful list.
On Twitter Tim Sweeney said, they need to put the processing fees onto the customer for some payment methods in developing countries, because otherwise they couldn't sustain the store with the 12% there. If you actually look up the payment options on the website for the EGS you will see, that this includes "developing countries" like Finland, Italy, Germany, Russia and France.
You will be fine, if you only pay via credit card or Paypal, but if you like to pay with a method, where you pay in cash you will have to pay procession fees on top of the price everytime (between 6-8%). Steam has these fees included in the 30% cut just like nearly every other store in the world, so the customer doesn't have to pay these. And Valve also knows that people in Eastern Europe and Asia love to pay with cash methods (wallet cards for example), so they also subsidize (idk if that word is the most accurate one) those things out of their own pocket so the customers can pay equally, so they will get 50$ for 50$.

Ooblets released a day later on the EGS and is ahead of Death Stranding in their top-sellers list.
That's a dumb generalization. Giving out games is an effective means of promotion. Maybe a title, a dev, a publisher.
So maybe giving out Transistor will introduce people to Supergiant, or bring existing fans over to Epic's store and launcher, which will then help promote their next game Hades, an EGS exclusive (for now), which is available now in early access.
Probably why smack dab in the middle of Transistor's EGS page, there's a big colorful ad saying "Also from Supergiant, Hades, early access".
Please see https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/news/epic-games-account-security for the state of Epic Games account security. This account system has never been compromised, but like other widely-used services is commonly targeted by hackers using known email addresses and passwords leaked from third-party sites that have been compromised.
OP, it looks like you are being targeted this way, and the 2FA checks are successfully protecting your account.
Epic’s approach has been to send users emails reporting questionable login attempts, while many other sites silently ignore them.
I don't think anyone can 'take' 2.500 from your PayPal through EGS. I mean EGS becomes authorized to use the balance for game purchases, but EGS cannot be used to 'withdraw' money.
They can only buy 2.500 worth of games with it.
But you can just refund those games, right? https://www.epicgames.com/store-refund-policy
>The thing is epic is having problems that very other store fixed years ago,
Because its brand new. I'm not really sure what you want from them.
>There are games on the epic store that are made by epic, that are worse versions of the same game that you can buy on steam because the store doesn't fully support dlc.
I keep hearing that, but I don't know where it came from. You can get DLC on Epic.

Repeat .
Hades is only $7
It's Supergiant's upcoming game, which is available in early access, and is an EGS exclusive. The price is more similar to the low prices their games usually hit a year or two later.
I'd rather have it on Steam, but I'm a fan of Supergiant.
But is it really the case? Not only Valve has been using since last year a tiered system for revenue share going as low as 20% for big earners like Borderlands, you also need to remember that Valve does not take anything from the keys you generate and sell elsewhere, not even direct sales. Those key sales have been evaluated at being around 30% on average...
Also, the EGS makes the customers shoulder the payment processing fees evaluated to an average of 8% of revenue shares. Hidden costs!...yay! Steam also distributes payment cards in emergent countries themselves which cost quite a bit to do. China for instance almost exclusively use that kind of payment for their digital transactions.
So when the EGS "about" page compares their revenue share to steam using only the highest tier, I feel they're being pretty dishonest... but that's not a surprise anymore, isn't it? They have shown to have a very flexible stance on what their principles are lately.
>But you can just refund those games, right?
>
>https://www.epicgames.com/store-refund-policy
But the hacker probably bought some in-game bucks or whatever they called. 100% they will not refund anything...
>Subnautica will be free to download until 11:59PM EST on Dec 27. Best of all, once you grab the game, it’s yours to keep!
>The Epic Games store will be offering a free game every two weeks until the end of 2019. The next free game, Super Meat Boy, will be available beginning Dec 28th.
Once you got it (if you got it, the two week period for subnautica is over now), it's yours to keep.
> I waited until it was free on the Epic store, it's amazing how quickly I jerked my Credit Card out once the trial was over, such a master piece game!
There was no "trial that was over". I suspect the user you replied to did not actually pay for the game as claimed.
Fun fact, if you use the MEGA SALE promotion over at Epic Games you can actually get Far Cry 5 for $5/€ 5 (the MEGA SALE discounts any >$15 game on Epic with $10 until June 11, with one additional discount till November 1 - it's actually coupon based but this is how it seems to work).
The best part about the whole "Not enough features thing" is that epic games has a Trello Roadmap for the launcher.
It's here. Stuff like The Shopping Cart and achievements are things for "Long Term" but I don't really buy more than 1 thing at once so the Shopping Cart doesn't really affect me. For Achievements games usually have built-in ones that are more satisfying to complete.
It also really frustrates me when posts like this one say that "Epic bad because they don't have offline support." Even though they have it and it's up to the dev to add it.
The only feature I really want in EGS pretty soon is the ability for people to have a profile, because I really liked all the things you could customize on Steam. But it's more of a "I kinda want it but it's not like it's going to affect my purchase decision of a game".
As far as I know, you will be able to sell on both, if you are accepted. The exclusivety of some games are special agreements between Epic and the game developers.
Here is their end-of-year development update. You can see screenshots of two of the things on your list (wish list and game reviews).
So they posted feature updates in August, September, October, and December. They were adding things every month, which I suspect maybe slowed down a bit due to the holidays.
As for cloud saving, that got implemented months ago. So I am not sure why that would even be on your list.
Watch Dogs 2 i Football Manager 2020 dzabe na epic game.
Actually there was "more" up to 75% titles at the beginning of the sale as well as more discounted titles yet as already discussed here, Epic doing it behind Publisher's backes, most of them got out of the sale, lowered discounts and so forth so that "only" ;
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/shadow-complex/home
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/metro-last-light-redux/home
are at 75% off as it was a decision of the bloody SteamSpy copying Signature Steam Discount Ratio
75% off to apply his new home of Epic with his short-sided vision on the subject being the Head of Publishing Decisions so that this whole Epic Mega Fail Sale is his doing without Epic's core stuff involved.
So this is a "sign" that any customer wanting to use Epic Store from now on should re-think twice if they can ever to trust such fickle advertising tactics and not kept promises.
There are legitimate reasons to dislike the Epic store/launcher. Right now they offer absolutely nothing for user reviews of games. Steam reviews might have flaws, but they are largely transparent and massively outweighed by the benefits.
Look at the Satisfactory page. You only see content the publisher/developer want you to see. There is no way to tell if this is more akin to Factorio (something like 99% positive, >40k reviews) or Factory Engineer (~50% positive, <100 reviews).
From a consumer perspective this is strictly worse, we've lost information and in some cases choice.
The full version of Football Manager 2020 is available for free on here (not sure if it will work outside UK). Be warned, this will take over your life.

Just patently wrong. I don't care that people hate other stores, but that's just wrong information.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epic_Games_Store: > For other developers, Epic takes only a 12% share of revenue, the rest going to the developer, and [emphasis mine: AND] for any games developed using the Unreal Engine, Epic forgoes the 5% revenue-based fee for those games sold through their storefront.
tl;dr: 12% for any game on Epic.
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/about
>What’s the catch? Is this 88% revenue share a special introductory rate? There is no catch; the 88% share to the developer is the permanent rate. Epic’s 12% share covers the operating costs of the store and makes us a profit.
And just to drill it in to peoples' thick skulls:
> My game is built with Unity or another engine, can I bring it to the Epic Games store? Yes, the Epic Games store is engine-agnostic. Epic is aiming to bring great games to players, regardless of your engine choice.
So what's the deal with Unreal Engine?
> My game is built with Unreal Engine. Why should I ship on the Epic Games store? Beyond the normal ease of shipping on every platform, there are no engine royalties for UE4-based games sold on the Epic Games store. If you’re using the default free license with a 5% royalty, for example, you won’t pay the licensing fees from your sales on the Epic Games store. Royalties from sales on other platforms would remain the same 5%.
Shipping UE games on Steam is 35%(!) (30% steam, 5% UE royalty, about the same as Unity) by default. Steam's cut only decreases as you start making millions, which most games don't. That's a 23% difference. So hate on EGS but don't deny it's a way, way better deal for small or new developers.

Bloodlines 2 was never exclusive to Epic. It has a page on the EGS (when it's not being taken down due to sale-related SNAFUs, that is), but at the same time store pages on Steam and GOG were launched. If they were considering exclusivity, they wouldn't have made the effort to present all three as a united front.
Especially not with Epic's penchant for stealing things away from Steam once the hype train has gotten underway - if there was a chance that Epic could have Bloodlines 2 all to themselves, I'd wager they'd have done it before now.

>No cloud saves
Fair enough, that sucks.
>no Linux support, no Mac support
I wouldn't call those very necessary, if a store supports Windows it will cover like 90% of the people playing.
>no third party key system for exclusives
Their games are able to be bought on Humble Bundle and some other stores now.
>no offline mode
That's been implemented since February
>no mod support, no reviews, no community features
Mod support would be okay but reviews and community features aren't something that I'd call very necessary. What's the last time you bought a game based on Steam reviews?
> Just the level of effort you have to go through to delete an account is insane.
How does the process of deleting an account on Steam work? I never tried it so I've got no clue if it's easier and quicker to do.
No clue what you're talking about to be honest, the game should of course be available in the UK? Can you describe what you're seeing and trying to do?

>Firewatch wasn't a GaaS model. Rocket League is still actively getting new content, and Epic is under no commitment to give Valve a slice of their first-party content from their first-party studio.
Doesn't stop some publishers from releasing their GaaS games to Steam, despite having their own form of First-Party Content. in fact, Star Wars: The Old Republic just came out on Steam.
I would also mention Death Stranding on PC (I know it's not GaaS, but it's a counterpoint) since it has Half-Life content, and while it's on Epic Games Store (Half-Life is mentioned on the description there), I cannot officially confirm that.
Otherwise, gotta love Competition!

So long as the Epic MEGA Sale is going on, you get a new coupon every time you use one. So it is basically an additional 10$ off every eligible game you buy until the end of the sale (and you carry over your last coupon until it expires in November). To get your first coupon, get the free GTA V game and you will receive it automatically.
The coupon works on any game over $14.99.
To put this in perspective, today I bought:
Assassins Creed: Origins Gold for $14.99 ($24.99 before coupon)
Far Cry 4 Gold for $7.99 ($17.99 before coupon)
Far Cry 5 Gold for $12.49 ($22.49 before coupon)
Journey to the Savage Planet for $7.99 ($17.99 before coupon)
I'll probably end up getting Control too before the sale is over (on June 11th). I don't usually spend a lot on games, but my birthday is coming up soon so I gave myself something.
Today's the last day, forgive the pun, to get the Last Day of June on the Epic Game Store, an emotional 3rd person vaguely time travelling story with the theme of grief.
I played this already and I'd recommend it, it's not too long, probably around 3-4 hours IIRC depends on if you can figure the puzzles out fast.
For PC, you can get it on the Epic Games store. Ill just copy paste an older comment here:
Long story short, Telltale games was unfortunately shut down and as a result, the games were pulled from steam.

2 free games this week. First one is called Toonstruck from gog, available for 2 days since yesterday. Seems like a point and click with a character from the real world entering a cartoon world and that character? He's played by Christopher Lloyd, great Scott!
Then from the Epic Games Store is a fun pixel art filled bullet hell dungeon crawler game called Enter The Gungeon, supposedly a must play and reviewed highly. Available for 2 weeks IIRC.
Because this is so much more informative, optimized, and condensed than the Steam Store, right?

Maybe once Epic gets its shit together people should link their store pages... until then, Steam gives you more and better info in a more easily digestible format.
> That miniscule percentage difference means nothing
TIL you'd have no issue with a huge paycut.
Steam is 30% + 5% to epic if using Unreal Engine (which a lot of devs use). So 35% up front is gone.
On Epic store that is only 12%. 65% vs 88% of all incoming money is a lot.
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/about
65% from steam sales vs 88% from Epic stales
So $60 game with 100 sales on Steam is $3900
Epic store 100 sales is $5280
Thats over 35% more revenue.. that is huge.
So clearly sales are going to be lost since its not on steam and there are the "steam only" people.
To make up $3900 per 100 steam sales, they need to sell 74 copies.
That is 26% lost sales to break even.
Add in any incentive money as well as much smaller store front so better "front page" action, they can lose a lot of sales to break even, and losing less means they are making more money.
Its very much a business decision to use EPIC not a consumer one, unless the can drop their pricing of course.
$55 on epic would need 81/100 steam sales to break even on their revenue. So that means they could offer it for $5 less and as long as they only lost 20% of customers they'd still break even.

Epic is as open as GOG is honestly as far as accepting games. GOG usually won't accept a game unless it from already from a successful developer with proven success. It would have to be something pretty special otherwise, or something GOG believes will be profitable. That is the nature of curation, only Steam truly allows basically anything.
Both GOG and Steam have dedicated pages were you can submit games.
Epic, however, plans to open the store up more broadly in 2019 but will still have a team that tries every single game before it's added to the store.

And you don't need to buy a developer's system to program it, that's free!
For the $100, it sounds like you get two support calls and access to the store (edited to make this and previous sentence more correct).
Do you actually have to pay the $100 if you haven't PUBLISHED anything, I thought they switched it to you could develop without the fee, you just couldn't get it in the store.

>To release it, you submit another form and wait for Apple to decide whether they will allow you to do that. Often they don’t.
Often they don't meet the criteria that have been published that the software is supposed to meet. I'm not saying there aren't programs that aren't rejected that shouldn't be, but I bet it's a small proportion of actual programs (not all that often).

You can find it here. It's a new digital game store made by Epic (the company that makes fortnite). BL3 released on the Epic Games store as an Epic Games timed exclusive. I guess that time runs out on March 13 since it'll be coming to Steam.
I hope that helps! Either wait until March 13 if you prefer Steam, or go get it on Epic right now and start playing :D. No matter where you play it, the game is a blast.
Epic bad, but Kingdom Come Deliverance is very good. Probably one of the best games released in the past 5 years.

So give it a go if you haven't yet.
Considering all the benefits that Steam gives to consumers (which Epic has honestly no real intention of bringing to their platform) what reason is there for us to use Epic again? Steam hasn't had to do a major update in years because it's been the definitive store front for the better part of a decade now in terms of what it offers to publishers, developers, AND consumers.
In addition they're bringing in 8 changes this year: https://www.pcgamer.com/valve-announces-8-changes-coming-to-steam-in-2019/
Compared to Epic which has actually DELAYED its improvements that was supposed to be released in April until May and June.
Besides, when I have all the previous games on Steam why would I ever consider buying it on Epic when doing so would just split up my library, screw that noise.
From this list (at the bottom) those additional fees are only there for certain payment methods (about a quarter of them): https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/about
My guess is that those payment methods have higher fees that don't work with the 12% cut. I remember reading about some mobile payment option in China that Steam used years ago that was also really expensive (but Steam's higher cut was able to absorb the cost or they just took the hit).
From a comment here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/af9gtz/epic_games_store_charging_additional_fees_for/
> Steam negotiated a deal with Xsolla back in 2011 though. The tweet specifically mentions that Epic is negotiating deals with some of these companies, but some are trying to charge as much as 25% of the total transaction cost.
There are a few outliers but generally speaking a majority of those payment methods don't seem to incur additional fees.
The difference is that with Epic they are only asking you to pay more when the payment processor is more expensive while with Steam it's Valve who's benefitting from low fees every time.
And yes it would be good if devs/publishers were to sell their games cheaper on the Epic Store (instead of pocketing more money) so that those additional fees wouldn't make games more expensive for those have no other option than using those specific payment methods.
Easy, because I actually bothered to check.

Compare the currencies that don't have * and see if it even sums up to "The Five Standard Payment Methods".
12% is the permanent revenue sharing rate for the Epic Games store. We've been saying this all along. See https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/about for example.
China for instance almost exclusively use that payment method for their digital transactions.
So when the EGS "about" page compares their revenue share to steam using only the highest tier, I feel they're being pretty dishonest... but that's not a surprise anymore, isn't it? They have shown to be quite flexible on what their principles are lately.
Already up on Epic. Ubisoft hasn't released any new games on Steam for over a year, no chance they'll do it now.
What, no love for episode 1? It looks like the entire series will be permanent freeware as there isn't a crossed-out price like there is with the other free games mentioned here.
This game contains a total of five episodes.
New episodes will be made available weekly on the Epic Game Store and they will be free.
See this link for more information.
The Epic Games Store Mac version has been delayed.
Requirements:
OS: OSX El Capitan (10.11)
Hellpoint is best played on the following Macs:
First and foremost, Epic Games gives free games every Thursday. Make sure to claim those every week. Some of them top tier games like GTA 5.

Ark Survival is on sale right now for $10. Even for $50, it's worth it. I wanted to try this for years, and hesitated about it. I ended up getting free. I would pay full price for it.

The Outer Worlds is also currently half off. I cannot recommend this game enough. It would even be a great comedy movie. It takes place in a universe run by communist capitalists. Basically governments are large corporations. And citizens are employees. It's hilarious all through the game, and really fun gameplay.

State of Decay 2. Also currently on sale $22.50 for base games and all expansions. It came out two years ago, but a few months ago, they did a free expansion update that pretty much overhauled the game. Tons of content lots of fun.

All those games are made out of Unreal Engine 4. All extremely worth it. But the one I recommend most is Starcraft 2. Best spectator esport on the planet. This is a bit more hard core if you want really fast paced gameplay. Free.
the game's name is No Straight Road, developed by Metronomik, published by Sold Out Ltd.
the game does not come with BM, for international sale ofc it will be dubbed with Japanese.

>is it an actual download and epic is just a storefront
Yes. It's an actual download.
You can make an Epic account and download the launcher already if you want some head start https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/
Here is the store page of Arena but obviously it's not available for Mac yet https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/mtg-arena/home
ARK: Survival Evolved and Samurai SShodown NEOGEO Collection are free on epicgames.

Control, Disco Elysium and Shenmue III are at historical lows if you count the discount.
> put out grants for new indy devs
Just wanted to share that there is more to Epic than "Epic Games".
