Thanks, just pulled it off APK Mirror, appreciate the heads up.
Here is the link: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/photos/photos-4-13-0-240385459-release/google-photos-4-13-0-240385459-2-android-apk-download/
This happened to me too after updating on my 4a. Uninstalling and re-enabling Android system webview on Playstore fixed the issue.
Sweet, worked perfectly.
FYI, anybody who's going to try this. I searched for the flag in the file, it happened to be right at the top.
I used this app.
One of My apps has it transparent, But the only way to do it is to use a tons of deprecated APIs.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.msiejak.msiejak.phoenix
Could you all please start my issue for the new API request? https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/186012447
I used to run this nice widget that does exactly what you said, but my pixel 5 it has a village along with Android 12.. try for yourself
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jordigordillo.dtswidget
This is probably not what you're looking for nor the best solution. But I use an app called VolumeSlider which lets me slide along the edges of screen to adjust volume and brightness. It cost me ₹60 in India (translates to roughly $1 in the US) to use both edges (one edge is still free).
It works exactly how CyanogenMod used to with an option of sliding across the status bar to adjust brightness!
The major downside is that VolumeSlider+Fully Gesture Navigation+Slide Out Menus produced insanely inconsistent results for me. My solution was to stick with two button navigation since it was not worth the trade-off!
Edit: Link to the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.clownface.volumeslider
Pixel phones don't support HDMI out using standard HDMI to USB-C adapters. You'll either need to wirelessly mirror using Chromecast, or buy an adapter that uses DisplayLink (you'll need this app installed as well)
Go to the Play store and open the play store page for the Google app. In the top right corner, there's three dots. Tap them and disable auto-updates. Then press uninstall and press ok to the pop-up. This will uninstall all updates to the Google app. This will fix the flashing issue. Here is a link to the most recent version of the Google app without the flashing issue.
Hope this helps!
You have installed the "AscApp" app. It appears to make a folder with the respective name and json files inside. Simply uninstall the app and delete the folder
I have done it yesterday, hell of a ride. For sms and call log I used successfully this.
Take care of your accounts that use 2FA with google authenticator. Export your accounts or disable it before going back to android 11, otherwise it will be hell of a ride contacting all the sites to disable it, if possible.
Instagram won't even open up, and it was working before. Tried restarting my phone, deleting and reinstalling the app, still not working, just crashes when I try to open the app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.instagram.android
It can be found here, but I cannot get it to install on my 2xl.
Doesn't roll out to everyone all at once. If you want the new design, download and install the app manually here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/google-play-store-15-1-24-release/
You may need to open and close the app after installation
I found if you install Google play services 17.1.22 this fixed it for me.
You can use an App like Battery Monitor https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ryosoftware.batterymonitor unfortunately it's simply the default behavior of the System battery Stats no way to change it back so I like I said it's not a bug so there is no "fix"
Idk if android has it inbuilt but you can try using tasker
Note: Reddit Link refer to this one for details
It is literally called Battery Monitor but it is accurate and has graphs and you can check battery usage from last charge or midnight.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ryosoftware.batterymonitor
Regarding fingerprint gestures, there is a supporting api which developers can use. I have been using an app which supports this since Nexus 6P days, lots of customization to choose for actions when swiping on all four sides.
You can try this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aecampos.android.fingerprintgestures
The apps have to target Android 10 or above to record audio with the native video recorder in Stock Android (but you're on a beta, so who knows what bugs are abound). You can use Appchecker to see which version your installed apps use.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kroegerama.appchecker
Unless you root, you're not gonna find a third party recorder that can record sound, Google has locked this up tight while still not offering a worthwhile solution. This is why OnePlus, Samsung, and other OEMs have created their own recorders that work with inline sound on their devices. In Samsung's case, they created an entirely new audio engine to work around Google's bullshit. Not sure what tricks OnePlus is using.
If you really want to record with inline sound, Pixel was the wrong way to go. Should have picked up a Samsung. Now your best bet is purchasing an external recorder, and if you wanna capture native res at high framerates, it's gonna cost. Problem is, this is still the best way to go because internal recorders, especially when recording sound and video, take up a lot of resources, resources that are required for demanding apps and games, so there are diminishing returns when using native recorders that will display as frameskips, which in turn makes your content look bad or simply reflects poorly on the app/game when it shouldn't.
v6.2.0
The app creates 3 folders in the Photos App: Telegram, Telegram Images, & Telegram Documents.
Despite not having the setting turned on, the app automatically (and arbitrarily) saves images/videos/stickers to the device. Seems to grab images/videos you click/view within the app. I've not been able to figure out how to stop it other than denying storage access.
Are you talking about this Photo Editor?
I love this app, I've been using it for a really long time and it's so advanced...
It's called "Hide Nav Bar". It doesn't cut out volume indicators when watching videos in landscape mode and it also doesn't cut out the app rotation icon.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivianuu.hidenavbar
So I dont really need it but it seems you do so I just tried something.
You can access a flash drive by mounting the drive with another app (I used this one, but I'm sure there are others that are completely free) and then accessing the drive with Total Commander.
:)
Edit: It actually seems to work without using the Paragon app by adding the flash drive as a custom location in Total Commander.
2nd edit: It even works in the built-in Files app now? Huh.
Or just use this app Android P Rotation :) I can't change the battery optimization on the device yet because that's bugged in Beta 3, but it works like a charm!
I downloaded the "USAA Beta" from the Play Store (it has a different grey icon). They haven't updated it since they did the new look and feel, so it's still the old build. They only update the "Beta" when they do a new Beta (not very often), so it's often an older release.
EDIT: Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.usaa.mobile.android.usaa.beta
App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Don't really need pics.. download the app, go to immersive mode, check 'navigation bar' and enable blacklist and check 'pixel launcher'..
As for your questions, don't really know since I'm rooted, but I say, just try, what harm can it cause?
Also don't know about the notch cuz I don't have one
Could you switch temporarily to a new launcher, clear cache&data from Pixel launcher and then reinstall the pixel launcher from here?
So, the way to fix this bug is to uninstall updates to the Google app. But it's not safe/cool to have such an old version on your device. In the meanwhile you can sideload version 10.4.5 which seems to be the last stable version that didn't have this bug.
Latest Google app version, seems to have fixed it for me: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-search/google-search-10-7-5-release/google-app-10-7-5-21-arm64-android-apk-download/download/
The most recent stable beta of the Google app is 10.4.4 for those that are interested.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-search/google-search-10-4-4-release/
I had this exact issue until I updated maps to 10.16.
Check the Play Store for updates or grab an APK from here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/maps/
Anything 10.16 or above should fix the issue and allow you to set the permission correctly.
Thanks, I'm not the only one. ;)
I use this app AutoNotification to get rid of it.
I just filter notifications with text "Notrufe über WLAN nicht möglich" and it's gone.
It does not. For multiple reasons.
First, you can see Inifinity's implementation there - there's nothing specific to Android 12, everything used there works back to Android 8.1. Those APIs to fetch colours from the wallpaper have been around since then, and are not using the newly added colour constants. Instead, Infinity alters the colours from the wallpaper in its on way to try to get something usable. If you end up with something that matches the system's Material You settings, that's pure luck (and if you change the theme in your device's settings, it's not going to match anymore).
Second, even if such an API existed already (as far as I know it doesn't, it's just the list of colours), apps couldn't be published on the Play Store using them yet - apps targeting Android 12 APIs need to wait until beta 4 is released to be published.
Third, the dynamic colours are only part of the whole Material You thing. There are new UI components/differences in look and behaviour (the toolbar and switch are the first two that comes to my mind). As of today, there's nothing released by Google around that, not even specs for designers.
So, no, Infinity for Reddit does not "use the Material You API".
Hahaha, I thought perhaps you've met u/dannymanny2 or u/dannymanny33 for a second lmao, my long lost relatives of the Internet
Anyhow, you can find the music widget and plenty others (including a weather one 😡🤬) here!
In beta... Files Material with You!
Of course, with appropriate condolences to Material Files: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.zhanghai.android.files&hl=en_US&gl=US
Did you install the app when setting up? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.wearables.maestro.companion
It's preinstalled on pixel phones but maybe you need to update it and open it. Once you do it should all work correctly.
I've been using an app called Torchie for years. Works great activating the flashlight with a quick power button+volume up press.
I never found the SMS backup by google to be super reliable. I use SMS Backup & Restore and back up to Google Drive. Super reliable, free, runs in the background on a schedule.
Old backups are stored, you can check it if you have the Google One app installed on your phone
Finally! Thanks for posting this. I use IPVanish and sure enough, I disabled my VPN and I connected immediately. I'd been stuck at connecting. I added Messages to split tunneling but went back to 'connecting" so I also added Carrier Services to split tunneling and now I'm finally staying connected. I'm on Beta 12 as well on my Pixel 3aXL. All is well again.
I'm able to use all of these settings just fine (P4, USA), so I'm not sure what your issue is.
My suggestion would be to check the Wallpapers app in the Play Store and see if there's an update available—if there is, install it and try again.
You could also try clearing the Wallpapers app data, then try using it again.
Also, even though the first developer preview is relatively stable it doesn't mean the following ones will be. Last year, I lost my home screen layout from an OTA update to the third developer preview. I'm not trying to be mean, but you should really only be using the developer previews if your a developer, or know how to use ADB and fastboot. I recommend you wait until the open betas for an easy to install, and more stable release.
You can learn ADB commands and how to sideload updates with my app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.msiejak.msiejak.phoenix
Did you try holding the power button + volume down button for a few seconds. TBH I also wished the power button screenshot was still athing. One more thing you can do is install an app called tiles, it should give you a quick setting tile to take screenshots. Link
I have a Pixel 3a and messages never reliably restored. Home screen has never restored at all. For messages, I highly recommend sms backup and restore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore. if you decide to use this, aside from being able to restore sms and call log, you can view the backup on a computer too. For home screen I would suggest a 3rd party launcher like Nova.
Sorry, launcher probably wasn't the right word. I'm on the stock Pixel launcher but was using this sidebar "launcher" app. When I gave it it's permissions, that's when the keyboard stopped working. I guess when I initially installed 11, it was already installed and once it enabled itself that's why the keyboard stopped working. After I did a factory reset I reinstalled this and up to that point my keyboard was fine. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fossor.wheellauncherfull
I'm having intermittent phone restarts when I have L2TP/Ipsec VPN connected. Can repro also in safe mode. Got replacement device from Google, but it has the same issue (was expecting that, though). I'm connecting to home Ubiquiti ER-X-SPF VPN. Haven't yet seen the issue when connecting to NordVPN, so uncertain if the root cause is Ubiquiti or Android VPN not handling something correctly. In any case, it shouldn't cause phone to restart.
Pixel 4 XL with July 2020 patch.
Well i am the same issue with one banking app which was not working on beta and is not working on final version either.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.canarabank.mobility&hl=en
this is the banking app i am referring to.
Personally I'd like to see a function like the old and now kind of not-necessarily-compatible-and-auto-closes-a-lot-in-10 Screebl app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keyes.screebl.full) that allows users to keep the screen awake at certain angles depending on how they are holding the phone. I used this for years before it stopped working nicely with battery management due to lack of updates...
Hi! I wanted to do the same thing so I developed an application to automatically change the theme according to the time of day. You can download the application here if you are interested: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cannic.apps.automaticdarktheme
Connecting disconnecting, or showing no internet access? Or both? Could you please install WiFi Monitor and check if it happens while switching from 2.4 to 5Ghz?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.thoughtcrime.securesms
If it does, feel free to star my issue: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/139069902
Edit: I have a 2XL, btw
There are apps to manually enable "immersive mode". The app Tiles has a tile you can add for that, you click it and it hides both bars.
I use the tiles app to get a NFC tile. You'll need some give it write secure permissions through a computer but it's totally worth it.
I use this app called Volume Butler...notification sound volumes are still a little wonky if media is playing, though.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiletrialware.volumebutler
Install SMS Backup & Restore. I've been using it for about 6 years to backup all my messages to Google Drive.
Run a backup and see if you can figure out the format. Then modify your current backups to match and reimport them.
I'm right-handed but I almost always trigger back by swiping from the left, my suggestion is to have the gesture area user-configurable. that way, each of us can have it the way we want (and without depending on developers to update their apps to account for the gesture nav)
> Fluid NG fixed the crashes in Q beta 2 in version 1.4.9-4 (beta), the APK can be found in the official Telegram channel or opting in for the beta via Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fb.fluid
Added thanks!
I don't know about your particular demographic, but a lot of people I come across use SHAREit. it's like Files in that it doesn't need NFC but it's cross-platform and not by Google
Install a sensor test app and check if the proximity sensor works as it should. If it always displays 0 cm, something is wrong. I tested it with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.andr7e.sensortest
Volume control of individual apps would indeed be great.
Something like SoundAssistant that isn't limited to Samsung phones.
Pixel 3 series uses this version, which is the "nodpi" version. It's best to use this version when recommending to users who you don't have exact information about, as nodpi includes assets for all DPIs and thus works on the most amount of devices.
Try installing this one. I'm in the Google Play Services beta program and this is the version I received from the Play Store on my Pixel 3 XL running Android 10 final.
Then this should be your choice: <strong>19.2.74 (120408-265167076)</strong>
Are you on Android 10 final?
Which phone?
Make sure to install the correct version at the bottom of the page, choose the correct "Android 10.0*+"* version matching your architeture and DPI - most probably "<strong>19.2.74 (120408-265167076)</strong>"
New version out. See if it helps.

Turn off your chat features and messages. Clear cache and storage. Then uninstall your carrier services. The Play store will tell you there is an update ignore it. Go to the link I provided scroll to the bottom install the APK. And then open messages turn on Chat features. If it says it failed quickly try putting your phone number done.
I was having some RCS problems recently on Beta 6, on my Pixel 3 XL with Google Fi. Forever stuck at trying to verify my phone number. Tried every trick I knew to try and fix it. Last thing I did that seemed to work was to update the carrier services app. I updated it to this version, and it seemed to fix my problem.
Here's the APK if anyone wants to give it a try on their Pixels: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/essential-products/android-q-easter-egg/android-q-easter-egg-1-0-release/android-q-easter-egg-1-0-android-apk-download/
I reverted back to version 102.0.0.20.117. That's the last version that respects the force-dark mode.
If you want to install the update right now you can head over to https://www.apkmirror.com or take the direct link:
I'm on 10.4.5 now after getting out of the beta and it's working much smoother - no auto download for podcasts though.
Anyone tried today's beta release 10.12.4 (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-search/google-search-10-12-4-release/)
You can install lawnchair and install app called https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pashapuma.pix.material.you.dark
What if you try one? Here, this is my tiny live-wallpaper app, which allows you to choose the content and the colors you wish the OS to use (the OS will still be the one to generate the colors to be used in the end, though, because that's how Android works)
Download this app and look for SysUI Tuner > Scroll down to notif bar settings > choose default settings for time.
There are apps ( Ampere , Accubattery , others I'm sure ) that are capable of displaying the current rate of charge, or discharge. Not quite as convenient as glancing at the bottom of the phone when it's plugged in, but still useful.
This app can do it (I have it turned off myself), but it requires additional permissions to be added via ADB (no root required).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
If you want a manual color picker, you could try my live wallpaper app, which lets you choose which colors to tell the OS that the wallpaper has (it's still up to the OS to decide what to do with these colors, of course) :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lb.lwp_plus
Please let me know if it works well on Android 13, because I still use Android 12.x .
> A loud siren when l'm on phone calls happens randomly.
I read someone say that this bug is now being caused by the latest beta release for the "Phone by Google" app, do you use the beta version of "Phone by Google"? If so, try using the stable version of that app to see if it helps.
If you're still having issues, new apk fixes a lot, but not all, of the weird issues.
Yes, what I do is set s custom DPI on the developer setting then I use an app called System UI Tuner to change the font size. No root needed, just ADB commands.
Google should unpublish their Authenticator app. They are responsible for people losing all their accesses since they don't provide cloud back-up while other apps do.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.azure.authenticator
https://www.android.com/android-12/
It is listed as a feature here.
I don't have it ob my Pixel 4a which I participated in the beta with and went to stable now.
But I see it on my Pixel 3XL which went straight from stable 11 to stable 12.
What worked for me is the Force LTE Only app, install and choose the legacy option. I'm not affiliated with the app, this question happened to be at the top of Google when I was searching for a solution. I've got Google Fi.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xsquarestudio.forcelte
No. I got the album art right inside the MP3 files.
I used this app on PC to get them from YouTube:
https://www.mediahuman.com/youtube-to-mp3-converter/
But maybe YMusic app for Android can do it too.
Some aren't a scam though, usually the larger name brands actually protect better than Play Protect - https://www.av-test.org/en/news/16-android-security-apps-vs-google-play-protect-in-an-endurance-test/
Once I got ADB connecting properly, I've been fine with scrcpy. I did find that I have to set the USB mode to File Transfer instead of the default (charge only). I changed it to make that the default (Default USB configuration, under Developer options. About halfway down, under Networking). And I do still sometimes have to plug the phone in and unplug it a few times before it "catches".
(Pixel 3a XL)
I'm started using Lawnchair 2 because of this. And also because the weather is still missing - I tried every possible fix but nothing worked for me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.deletescape.lawnchair.plah
It looks exactly the same with a lot of customization options, like remove "At a Glance". And you can adjust a lot of icon packs.
I'm pretty happy so far.
You can choose any color you wish if you use this live wallpaper app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lb.lwp_plus
You choose the content to show, choose the colors to tell the OS to use, set as live wallpaper, turn off the screen, and it should work.
Do note that for some colors, the OS might change to similar ones instead (for example light-red instead of just red).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.wearables.maestro.companion
Make sure it's updated. Disconnect and forget the Buds A Series, Go into settings, Aps, Clear Data and Cache, go to Bluetooth and add them again. It worked for me.
Colors of what? Of the theme of the OS ("Monet") ? Those that are based on the wallpaper?
If so, you can already do this since the first beta of Android 12, via a live wallpaper app that allows you to choose the color, without using any "hacks", adb commands, or root :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lb.lwp_plus
Sadly though, just setting the color doesn't mean it's the exact color that the OS will use. Green or yellow becomes as such, but red, for example, became light-red in my case.
I never liked the google calendar widget. I've been using an app called "month" for years now. Let's you customize how you want the widget to look.

Hello guys, I might find a solution for this really bothering problem. Take a hammer and just smash it right to the flashing dot, it will stop.😜
No, but seriously: 1. Go to Google Play and download Proximity sensor reset/fix https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiledirection.proximitysensorreset 2. Follow the instructions given by the app. Basically you will re calibrate your proxy sensor. 3. Restart your phone
Enjoy😉
Well the customizability still exists, you can install something like Bottom Quick Settings or Button Mapper or any app that lets you add toggle switches to your homescreen or quick settings or wherever.
this is a bit off-topic so I'm sorry but this is a thread on wallpapers and material you so I figured I'd ask..
I don't have the beta currently, so could anyone answer if material you works with live wallpapers? I've been using Muzei for years as a way to have a rotating set of pictures as my wallpaper, but previously any 'color picker' type apps that supposedly grab colors from your wallpaper don't work with muzei (or presumably any live wallpaper) at all. Is Material You different, or will I be forced to either change away from muzei or not use material you?
Can you please try this live wallpaper, that lets you choose which colors to use, and still use whatever background/animation you wish:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lb.lwp_plus
?
I wonder if it works. My guess is that even if it does work, the OS probably takes colors that are based on what you chose, but different ones.
I have NordVPN (which I rarely use) and just discovered that it has a CyberSect function that apperantly blocks ads(?). I doubt it will work on IG/Youtube but hopefully it will clear out outher stuff.
NordVPN is not working for me on beta 4 (Pixel 3 XL), same issue as all the others, connects and I can ping sources but no throughput otherwise. Have tried Wireguard and OpenVPN UDP/TCP as well as manually setting DNS, but no joy.
Same here on my Pixel 4a. Both NordVPN and Google Fi protection rendered useless and ineffective. I submitted a bug report and it was incorrectly deemed a duplicate of a bug report of one that is VPN won't allow connection to websites. Does anyone actually read the submitted bug reports? VPNs not able to protect our data is serious and a fix needs to be released immediately, not wait untill the end of the month or for the next beta release.
I'm using NordVPN on a Pixel 5 (Beta 4) in the states and it appears to be working correctly. Oddly enough I had this same issue with all the previous betas - most frustratingly with chat features in Messages - but it appears to have been fixed for me in Beta 4 across the board, at least for now.
Pixel 4a 5G:
Private Internet Access VPN (Dedicated IP) disconnects after five (5) minutes. Uninstalled/reinstalled app=NO JOY
nordVPN: Connects to a VPN server (per the app), but the "new VPN IP" address is my real IP address. The nordVPN website indicates "Unprotected" even thought the app says I am connected to "United States # 6613".
The phone would not connect to my T-Mobile 4G LTE cellspot right after update. Would only connect to a weak 5G signal. After several restarts and changing network settings, it finally connected to the cellspot.
This update is a network disaster.
