I agree but I also feel like to get the real effect of what we are doing to the environment we should focus on recently extinct animals like these https://weather.com/science/environment/news/2019-01-02-extinct-animal-species-2018 and I'm sure many more tbh didnt read the whole list
Just found it: Nvidia Ansel
Did you literally take that screenshot and apply a blur in a photo editor? If that's the case- it gives me hope if I'm able to do it as effectively as you LOL
Just so it doesn't get hidden in the comments, you can get a digital download of Zoo Tycoon 2 Ultimate Collection from Amazon here. I did it about a year ago and it's great.
This is not the only such building. There are several art noveau structures built in the same period by renowned architects. For instance the elephant pavillon. Second in row here- https://www.shutterstock.com/search/budapest+zoo
As for animals and quality of animal life. There are many improvements nowadays, with most of animals having decent enclosures. But there is place for improvement too. (Especially for big cats)
Thankfully there is something huge coming in a year. Biodome is going to open, and it will be one of its kind. https://welovebudapest.com/en/2017/09/11/construction-begins-soon-on-the-budapest-zoos-new-biodome/
There's Steams build-in screenshot feature, where you press F12 (it does require the overlay to be enabled). It saves them to a folder, and they can also be uploaded to your Steam profile.
Then there's a tool called ShareX, which comes with a bunch more functionality, including uploading to different services such as imgur: https://getsharex.com/.

I bought it when it was cheaper than currently but it runs great. I have Planet Zoo all DLCs, Sims 4 all DLCs, and Sims 3 all DLCs installed. All three games run at high graphics settings. I can also have upwards of 5000 guests and 20+ habitats on Planet Zoo before any lag. And even then lag is minimal. Good luck on your computer quest!
The Amazon page says it's a digital download. I've purchased it and can vouch that it is digital. Amazon actually has a lot of old digital games, but for whatever reason they make it nearly impossible to find. Anyways, this is the one I bought:
Another person showed this but it is really cheap, neat and future proof too, please keep in mind that Planet Zoo basically lags on any PC once a zoo gets too big, it's more of a engine issue and not the PC, but yea totally get this one if you can lol, it's more than capable.

This one seems good, RTX 3060 for less than 900 pounds.
SSD isn't that big but can always be upgraded.
Thank you! Here is the link for the PC =]
I'll add it to the post as well =]
That should handle it very well. I’m running it on a laptop one/two steps above that (Ryzen 9 / RTX3070) and it runs flawlessly at max settings. Probably even a little overkill. My laptop:

Here is a video of what I mean: https://sendvid.com/5an7g495
In the video I'm moving my mouse very slowly, trying to get a smooth rotation. But the darn thing keeps jumping around randomly!
If you wanna by a fan, I’ve had this one for a while and it does a good job and isn’t flimsy like some others I’ve bought in the past. This isn't really a Q&A, but I felt like it might not be worth making an entirely new thread about it so just posting this thought here.
I just played Assassin's Creed Odyssey for the first time yesterday and they have this AMAZING photo mode that lets you take screenshots with depth of field, framing (so you can 360deg rotate around your subject or in the world), exposure, color tints/temperature/contrast. (here are some example screenshots from AC Odyssey)
WE NEED THIS FEATURE IN PLANET ZOO. It would be absolutely incredible if they could implement that. I know I'd spend so much more time playing the game just to get those amazing shots, and I'd share them literally everywhere.
Inkscape is open source and free. The layers/draw tool are all you need to create a zoo. And possibly learn how the trace tool works if you need to convert an image to a vector.
You can get free vector icons from FlatIcon. You just need to credit the artists if you use them and post your map online.
Until they do try this service: https://shadow.tech/usen/shadow-apps
I am on a Mac and this is how I play. The service is fairly reliable provided you have a good internet connection. The other portion is to have a Windows partition on your Macbook.
Hi it downloads as a zip file. (7-Zip, specifically.) Do you have some type of zipped folder opening software? You right click (if using windows) "open with" (all files of this type) and select the unzipper.
Free and widely used: https://www.7-zip.org/download.html
No worries!

Lightweight at 5.1 pounds and meets recommended specs except for graphics card, listed top of you budget though
Recommend Specs for Planet Zoo CPU: Intel i7-4770k or AMD Ryzen 5 1600. RAM: 16 GB HDD: 16 GB available space.G PU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8 GB) OS: Windows 10 64 Bit

I struggle with the pathing system myself, so I'll answer your laptop board recommendation. This is the one I use.
For anyone like me that adores ZT2 but couldn't find their discs - the entire collection is available as a download from Amazon for $20.
I have the Acer Nitro 5, with the Ryzen 5 processor not the intel one, and it runs perfectly. I did upgrade the ram to 16gb.
It was this one exactly: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FWLNJ3G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_NF96FbYCTSKWE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I think it’s a pretty good option for a lower budget if you get the Ryzen processor. The graphics card is a little low powered for Planet Zoo but meets the minimum and I think the graphics look pretty good.
Taking a quick look at Amazon, decent laptops that can play go around $700 new and some drop as low as $600 used. That's about as low as it's going to get.
Just look for laptops with a Nvidia 1050, 1060, or 1650 for budget gaming laptops. I wouldn't be concerned with CPU, as I don't think any of them would have those GPUs but be paired with an unsuitable CPU. Same thing with RAM, as the minimum I've seen with these GPUs is 8GB which is enough for the game.
Here are a couple examples:
$700 new, $644 from Amazon Warehouse.
$600 used. Better graphics card although it is older. Has thunderbolt which is neat. This is actually the laptop I am currently using, though I bought it back in March of 2019 for about $100 more.
There are AMD equivalents that would work, but honestly I'm not familiar with their hardware. Avoid anything that says integrated graphics. I'd be happy to give my opinion if there's anything you end up spotting.
Actually I've made an app for Android. Easier when you don't have a second screen or want to check information on one of the animals on the go! You can check out the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.zoopedia
If anyone interested: I've created an app with similar data, trying to recreate the zoopedia. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.zoopedia
Any information or ideas for the app please let me know :D
I have a gaming laptop, which I do not necessarily recommend for actually gaming. I can't run PZ on anything higher than a custom mix between "medium" and "high," and it has to be plugged in to the charger or else it gets super laggy. As soon as I start up the game, the fans go completely beserk and it sounds like the laptop is literally going to take flight. And every now and again, if I move the computer just the wrong way, something inside moves and I guess it hits the fan, but it sounds like a garbage disposal, and it won't stop until I turn off the computer. I bought this laptop open box for $850ish on my best buy credit card so I could get 24month interest free financing, and after I move and then pay this off, I will most likely start trying to build my own pc. I hate to say I wasted money on this, because it works better than my previous laptop which wasn't for gaming at all, but this definitely does not meet the expectations I had based on all the reviews and specs I read before buying. At least it works (most of the time) and although I do have to be plugged in to use it, I can take it to work.
turkeyfox is largely right. There's a reason that you don't see even streamers with zoos that cover the whole map. The game itself just isn't really optimized.
If you want a good floor, I've got a ROG Zephyrus - https://www.amazon.com/Zephyrus-Validated-i7-9750H-Processor-GX701GX-XH78/dp/B0844SZQ6X
Runs the game great but once I go over about 3k guests or have a zoo that's starting to cover more than about 1/4 of the space, framerate still goes down. Even on pause.
I'm sure with a real desktop PC you can squeeze more performance out but at some point you'll still run into the limits of the software itself.
Don't get me wrong though. The game's still well worth it and I've played for well over 500 hours. Just don't expect a completely smooth performance no matter the hardware.
It probably doesn't have a power supply strong enough to support a more powerful gpu. On top of that, pre-built desktops like that generally don't have much room to upgrade the parts inside. If you're on a budget, your best bet is to buy a pre-built gaming pc, it should suit your needs and also allow you to upgrade in the future.
A quick search found me this: https://www.amazon.com/CYBERPOWERPC-Xtreme-i5-9400F-GeForce-GXiVR8060A8/dp/B07VGJDKZ4
I'm not an expert on budget PCs but you should be able to find something if you go to Amazon and search "budget gaming pc"
I have no knowledge on computer gaming whatsoever as I play all my games on Xbox. But ive been a huge zoo tycoon fan ever since I was a kid and seeing that planet zoo is coming out I must have it. I recently purchased a new laptop and was wondering if it would be able to handle planet zoo. Thanks!
