In one of the developer videos, they said they balanced Inferno by getting it to a point the developer team thought was good, then they doubled it. It wasn't clear what they doubled, but if it was damage, I think that was a bad choice. I'd rather see the balancing through sheer number of mobs, with some unique abilities, rather than having everything 1-shot the player.
[edit] Video here! (Sorry for the ad.)
The quote exactly: > Inferno difficulty is very very very hard. We basically, internally, we had this super hardcore test team...that tested Inferno. We got it to a point that we thought it was challenging enough, and then we doubled it, because we knew that no how matter good we are, our players are going to be better.
Go look at the hard core EU 4 man ladder and you find me at spot 1-2 as DPS https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/rankings/season/10/rift-hardcore-team-4 Hope you feel as dumb as you sound. Also finished Season 9 as rank 1 on 4 man ladder.
Photoshopped or not...best buys pretty firm on a feb 1st release...

Yeah, everyone in July was banned due to bug in a version of Wine that came out at September 14, 2012

Anyway like it says in description, rewatching this myself, this didn't look as fun as my 102 clear, mainly because I got super lucky with the affixes, plus I did a few trash pulls as well, so some people will probably dislike the playstyle.
It is the lack of high contrast scenes in the game. Most areas in Diablo III, especially the first two acts that set the mood for the game, are all using a limited, fairly uniform palette. I love that look, if you stop and take a look around it feels like a living painting - but it can't create tension.
Diablo II areas had a limited palette as well, but they always included shadows and highlights, creating tension even on the snow-white, amply-lit parts of Act V.
Speaking of lighting, it was used for maximum effect in Diablo II while it is completely absent from Diablo III. Light and darkness have been replaced with a flat ambient light. This works well with the outdoor settings creating the painting effect, but once again creates no tension at all. It is especially evident on indoor settings like catacombs; it looks gloomy, but there is no darkness at all. Aesthetics aside, this also means that you can always see what is coming to you and you never feel that you are exploring a dangerous place.
tl;dr: flat dynamic range; lack of contrast in colours, ambient lighting without heavy shadows and no light radius mean no tension.
Hi, I would like to share with you the way to run the game on your Android phone/tablet:
Notes:
a) The version you use should run without CD
b) There is a 3 day trial in the app. After that you have two options. Buy the control scheme permanently (7$ if I remember correctly) or use subscription model (monthly payments).
Thanks! The patch 1.09v fix it!

To anyone else who got the same issue, I downloaded the patch from here:

For those of you who cannot make a copy of this because of high traffic, do the following to force a download:
Hey Roger, that is a perfectly reasonable concern. Most of the stuff I give away in the stream is donated from the awesome regular viewers that I have simply to give something back to the stream so there is definitely no shady business going on. While there is nothing I can do to prevent people from making multiple accounts and logging in to watch the stream, I use http://www.random.org/lists/ to do all the giveaway selections. The whole process is streamed. Starting with copying and pasting the names over to the list, all the way to randomizing, and finding out if that person is indeed a follower.
If that doesn't seem enough to calm your mind you should hop in the stream tomorrow and ask people about all the other giveaways I've done and if they go their stuff. Hope this helps :)
I would not recommend buying cd-keys as they are often obtained using scams.
Here is a developers view from Factorio on the subjects. > The good deals that are not so good.
>One of the problems we had in the past months were the credit card frauds, so let me explain how exactly it works.
> * Someone obtains credit card numbers somehow. > * He buys Factorio keys (among other things) with these cards on our site > * Then these keys are transferred somehow to these "good deal" sites where they can be bought for cheaper price. > * Eventually, the card owner finds out and cancels all the transactions, we get a notice about every faulty transaction > * Not only we don't get the money paid, but we have to pay extra $20 fee per every transaction that was cancelled. > * As reaction to this, we have to deactivate all keys bought this way, which results in steam key deactivations as well. > * So in the end, we are 20$ short and we lost time dealing with it and the buyer doesn't have the game he paid for.
I had the same problem. Apparently it has something to do with AMD drivers and DirectX. Here is what I did to fix it.
After doing that, the game does not freeze any more for me. Hope this helps.
PS: I did not find this out myself, I found the fix on the the official German Diablo 3 forum: http://eu.battle.net/d3/de/forum/topic/15161250759
Yes, it will let you access the full 4gb of RAM that you have.
In 32bit mode, your CPU can access a max of 4gb but it has to share* it between your memory and all your other devices, the biggest being the video card. If you have say a 1GB video card, your CPU can only 'talk' to 3gb of your ram and the remainder is totally invisible.
^^*Not ^^exactly ^^how ^^it ^^works, ^^but ^^in ^^practical ^^terms ^^that's ^^the ^^effect.
Here's a reasonably layman article about it http://www.zdnet.com/blog/hardware/clearing-up-the-3264-bit-memory-limit-confusion/3124
To see how much it's affecting you, click Start and type "msinfo32" (enter, without quotes)
Look for these two lines on the screen that comes up:
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 12.0 GB
Total Physical Memory 12.0 GB
Total is the amount that can be used by your current OS, while installed will show the full 4GB. The difference is being wasted.
$60? FUCK NO.
You can probably find it in most stores much cheaper. I don't play PS4, so I can't say how big it's pop is atm.
But no reason to spend $60 for a download.
Currently $50 on amazon for the disc, or $30 used. much more reasonable (it's currently $30 for pc - new)
https://www.amazon.com/Diablo-III-Ultimate-Evil/dp/B00GLZQR96
Press your class at the bottom and you'll see all relevant legendaries that you'll want to keep, what build they fit in and what to do with them. It's also updated for the current patch.
The icy-veins list is good, but some of their builds are not so good.
Here's a similar list, but I think the builds they've selected may be a little more relevant. You can also use the tabs just for your class:
Take a look at the Path of Exile shop. They have a lot of weapon and spell effects that seem to do well enough for them. I don't see any reason Blizzard couldn't do the same with Diablo.
Without delving hugely into it, I'd like to recommend you check out Storm of Light by Nate Kenyon. It covers the events between Diablo III and Reaper of Souls and you get some perspective on what being the Aspect of Wisdom means through Tyrael's eyes (after he takes up the mantle at the end of D3).
It's not wholly unmaddening, and Tyrael spends a fair amount of the story attempting to piece together Malthael's thoughts and motivations behind his disappearance. Probably my personal favorite of the Diablo novels.
I know it's not diablo related, but far and away one of my favorite developer blogs is for Factorio. It's called the Friday Factorio Facts, and they did 360 of them every week during development (and have since started doing them again).
They cover things from reducing bug backlogs, to UI design, to AI pathing, to sprite artwork, to multithreading, to sales and marketing.
I highly recommend it.
Here is you solution if you are using ATI / AMD video card :

there are 648 people credited for various roles, there are some people credited multiple times for work in different departments. The only teams that is "sole" Diablo would be the development and potentially the art team, the sound, bnet, support, writters, visuals all have potential to work across different IP's.
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/diablo-iii/details
Also over a year ago it was reported Blizzard employed roughly 4600 people, then take into account the 600 layoffs that would put them at 4000. There are reports tho that they now employ more in the region of 2600 people, most of which are located in Cali.
That's interesting if that's the case, as the shield value in that screenshot goes well over the maximum integer value that an IEEE 754 64-bit double can represent without losing precision (2^53 and below).
That would explain why the shield value abruptly terminates after 15/16 digits and is all zeroes from that point on.
See: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1848700/biggest-integer-that-can-be-stored-in-a-double
The OP is misleading, turning this on will not speed up anything.
The only thing it does is overwrite data in page file with zeroes during shutdown, and that takes some time. The point is that no password or other sensitive information is left there if someone would be to gain physical access to your computer.
If you suspect your pagefile might be slowing down your machine defragmenting it would be a better solution, but probably not needed.
4 man RG killer pet build with Inarius set is more damage and easier to keep up. You only need to have 2-3 skeleton mages up all the time at boss (summon a new third one every 4 sec to keep up the 10 stack). Still testing different build options, but did a 4 man 110 in 10:55. Needed about 1 minute to bring boss (Orlash) down to 60%. We took Power pylon and the boss melted to 18% (= kill) within 2 seconds (coe phys).
Here's the build I used: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Donaga-1552/hero/95609250
Was inspired by 117 clear on Asia. Maybe Simulacrum - Reservoir instead of Blood Rush or Frailty. Attack Speed on rings probably could be replaced by weapon damage. CDR on offhand to Elite dmg.
Boss with adds seem to be very bad. Even though you can "command" your skeletons to attack what you want, I experienced bosses with adds take very little dmg compared to single target bosses.
Will test further with better gear and augments.
To fight this, I suggest Blizzard gather everyone into the same page about what RNG really is, and manage everyone's expectations.
Blizzard should be clear that RNG doesn't guarantee standardized distribution. Random is Random.
Blizzard should also explain that there is already a failsafe just in case legendaries are Not dropping for a long time, and this is where they will override RNG in favor of pleasing the player.
Blizzard should explain that "losing streaks" are still possible, as well as "winning streaks", which in some instances, you'll get a "distributed streak". Truly random, truly unpredictable, just like a physical dice roll.
It's a classic for a reason. You won't be able to play it at HD resolution, and as a word of warning the graphics—particularly in the early game—were slammed for being kinda outdated on release. In 2000. But it's a classic for a reason.
That said, it's a twenty-year old game. It looks and feels like a twenty-year old game. There are possibly better options for you if you just want a dungeon crawler that a lower-end machine can handle. And if you want an RPG and not specifically an ARPG, there are more options still. Planescape: Torment and the Baldur's Gate games hold up incredibly well, but they both lack D2's, I dunno, zip. D2 gets right to the point.
If you care to share your specs you can probably get some specific recommendations. I'll add that if you do go with D2, do yourself a favor and invest in a cheap gaming mouse. The Diablo games are point and click, and playing with a laptop trackpad will start to feel painful fast.

Here is an AutoHotkey script that will make your key presses single, not repeating, for however long you hold them down:
#IfWinActive ahk_class D3 Main Window Class *RButton:: send {RButton down} send {RButton up} Return
My dash is on my right mouse button, thus "RButton". Replace that with your dash key (here is a handy list if you have it bound to some strange key). Save those few lines of text as "something.ahk" and double click the file. That script should be sanctioned by Blozzard as it does not do anything for you automatically. Hope it helps, best of luck.
WD's and barbs trail monks in the top 1000. Looking at the highest ranked individuals is not wise, as outliers are very subject to variance.
That doesn't invalidate your point, however, as pretty much every class needs a buff against M6 DH. From the numbers, though, it appears to me that barbs and WD's need that buffing the most. Barbs and monks can be worked together, though, as they are both the only real melee classes.
On the issue itself, DH's enjoy their very clear advantage due to survivability reasons: they can kill stuff while not even in the room with the mobs. It would seem to me, then, that the way to fix up barbs and monks both would be to modify and buff Moratorium as follows:
The change of clear per attack instead of clear per kill would greatly improve the damage clearing ability; the release of all the damage as an area explosion would further incent melee players to use this gem. Note I said "area damage". This would allow players to spec area damage bonuses on their gear to further increase the damage Moratorium causes.
I'm not sure about the numbers, so I just left that as a mental exercise.
Edit: another idea would be to introduce an item that is synergistic with the new melee-based Moratorium. For example, "all healing increased by HH% if mobs are within YY yards." This would be synergistic as highly increased regen/LoH/LpK would increase your ability to clear big damage spikes that have been delayed by Moratorium....
Here. Diablo isn't some unheard of, underground indie game. I've met plenty of people who love Diablo II and play the original Diablo.
> But spending the time to get the loot is the entire point.
/u/rikeus , I'd argue that playing the game with cool items and builds is the point.
/u/almack9 , dude I wouldn't judge you. I'd do it if I could. Something kinda funny and similar is Progress Quest. Have you ever heard of it? Wish D3 had a similar option.
While somewhat comparable, it's not quite the same with HotS. The problem with Hearthstone is the standard rotation invalidates your collection every couple years so you have to keep playing to stay relevant. In HotS, your older characters are still useful, and you can keep building your library over years and not have your progress deleted on a regular basis.
Secondly the grind in HotS isn't quite as bad - you can get a new character about once every two weeks or if you just do the dailies. I've got all the characters having never bought any with real money and I've got enough bank to buy all the new characters at least for the next year.
They've also historically been quite generous - giveaways like the mega bundle (https://heroesofthestorm.com/en-gb/heroes20/megabundles/) have helped people catch up quickly. Older heroes are also cheaper to buy so you can quickly build up a library of basic heroes to play.
Getting the entire hero library does take some time, though. Probably about a year of regular playing. I've heard some rumors of a new mega bundle in 2019, but I guess we'll see.
maybe not your purple-arcane ... but you could still run the extrem lazy firebird, with "Etched Sigil" and "Ranslor's Folly" .... https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/item/etched-sigil https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/item/ranslors-folly
just ran around, desintegrate everything which wants to hit you .... and see how they get sucked into your tornados, get the extra-fire dmg and die pretty easy and fast ...
as i sayed ... its def. a totally lazy build, good for sunday mornings, where you just need your mouse and have the other hand free for your coffee-mug
:)
Whoops, I was away for a bit and couldn't get back to you.
Basically, John Yang the dev in charge of DH's did a writeup for the DH class shortly before D3's launch, and in it he essentially endorsed stutter stepping as a valid game mechanic that was purposefully designed in, making reference to marine micro in Starcraft and so on.
As far as I know, this is one of the more solid pieces of evidence that stutter stepping is working as intended.
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/blog/10040335/which-class-will-you-play-11-05-2012
>"I love kiting enemies with my demon hunter. One of my favorite things to do in StarCraft II is "stutter-stepping" marines, and it turns out you can stutter-step a demon hunter too! Being able to reposition myself on the battlefield in between shots lets me kite enemies when I'm solo, or position myself perfectly in co-op play. Played well, I can dodge projectiles or get out of fires with little to no loss in DPS. The demon hunter can truly shine in the hands of a skilled player, but you need a good strategic sense to manage your resources responsibly, excellent micro to maximize your damage, and intimate knowledge of your skills to wreak maximum havoc on your enemies."
Starcraft: Released March 31st, 1998.
Starcraft II: Released July 27th, 2010.
12 years, 3 months and 27 days.
If Blizzard develops it, people will buy it. If it's not great on day one, they will update and re-balance it until it is great.
Look at their game library on Metacritic:
Their WORST score, held by Diablo 2, is an 87. WORST!!!
Their best score, held by Diablo, is a 94.
They have made 30 games and game expansions, and their AVERAGE metascore is 90.
The masses have spoken, and they say that Blizzard can do no wrong...
EDIT: for that last statement about 'the masses' to be true, you must ignore the WoW forums. It's safer that way, anyway...

This is the January "Graphics card heirarchy chart". Basically if you are below ~3 steps of something upgrading is considered "non-worthwhile". Steps around the mid/high range are about $25-40 increase in price. Tom's has been my "go-to-guide" for layman comparisons of cards. This link is the Jan. 2012 revision.
EDIT: This can be proved pretty legit when you look at the Nvidia/ATI comparison. Diablo requires 7800 GT or X1950 Pro (18th and 17th tier, respectively) and recommends GTX 260 or HD 4870 (both in the 8th tier).
I have a GTS 450, which is the in the 9th tier, I shouldn't have any trouble running the game and might even JUST meet the recommended. Performance may stutter slightly on ultra.
The guy above has a 9600GT, which is in the 12th tier. He should be able to run the game with no issues but probably won't have a playable run on the highest settings, might have to bring some things down a little bit.
Two things:
Due to the fact that so many people complain that individual achievements are unreliable currently because you can get a perfectly dense rift with a conduit pylon at the end, this is an aggregate of the top 1000, which is all laymen like us have access to.
This is US Ladder, not US Season Ladder. If you want that data, its here: http://jsfiddle.net/6bwy7shs/1/embedded/result/ . They're still about .8 levels lower on season ladder, but gaining. If they keep the same speed, they'll pass barbarians in 3 or 4 days.
The soon coming to NA Lost Ark or Guardians Of Ember both look to do this already so Blizzard might want to get on the ball and do something. http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/1441/feature/11126/An-Interview-About-Runewakers-ARPG-with-MMO-Elements.html
Thank you I wish more people would do that. Thanks to guys like you I was able to secure my DH weapons. After getting my ass kicked with Monk in Inferno Act 2 I decided to go with DH. Monk is now used to farm Act 1. While armor from my monk will be usable I was having troubles with decent weapons. However,I got these bad boys for 70k each while others were selling for 120k or more
This was true up until 1.05. If you're playing on MP1+, or a3 and later, this makes absolutely no difference.
Just browsing on /r/d3loot, check out this ring. ilvl 60 and a perfect 50% crit damage roll.
What? reviewers always drool over every Activision and Blizzard title. The lazyness and dishonesty of video game journalists is one of the most embarrassing aspects of the industry.
Take a look at World of Warcraft Cataclysm. 53 positive reviews 0 average, 0 negative ones from the critics. I don't doubt it's a good game, but that's a little absurd.

Kymbo's Gold roll up to 100%. To min/max you want to be a monk or barb since you can dual wield two swords with +80% instead of 80 from mainhand and 35 from offhand.

Best you can do on DH.
Life is hard but will go on. Luckily it's easy to reroll now and I didn't lose but level 60 gear mostly. Rerolled another WD and managed to kill malthael last night. Thank god I dropped to hard on him though I ran the act with extreme got my first lvl 70 item from maltha and rerolled cc to socket. Pretty happy for my prox 8 hour WD.

" I honestly never open the app, but I guess the new look is good. Would like the widget functionality back though."
So, I'll share mine, with the caveat that it's mostly used for min-maxing, not for planning. There are no runes listed in it yet (though straight damage/cooldown etc can be modeled easily enough), and so far only Barb, Wiz and Monk will work right (and even that I can't guarantee).
Those caveats aside, I'm having a ton of fun theorycrafting stat values! For example, monks value bonus attack speed at approximately 30% more than wizards, and (presently) seem to almost require as fast a weapon as they can get, whereas wizards aren't much bothered with 2h vs 1h.
If you have any ideas for things you'd like to see or questions about why it's so fucked up then I'm happy to answer, I love chatting about numbers.

Yes, I know all about DH. It's my main class since D3 released. Anyway, I was not complaining. M6 DH enjoys a strong advantage against other classes, as documented here. So now you understand, right?

This was prior to D3s release also.
Same here i lost a calamity and something else (8 out10 are still on AH), by lost i mean it sold out but no entries on the complete tab. Also when i opened the AH tab again it showed a message but i couldnt read it as i pushed "esc" quickly XD
Edit: Message was : "Cannot get your payment infos:error 3022" Edit 2: something weird just happend, i have 12 of 10 items on sale right now http://tinypic.com/r/330vgbr/6
This interview and others. Them tailoring it for "most hardcore players" means that for everybody else it's going to find it frustrating rather than fun.
As for the progression, normal mode is easy to the point where you are barely at any danger of dying to the final boss of the game. "That surely can't be all this game has to offer" is what most people think and the progression indicator in your profile and the fact that you linearly unlock the next difficulty and continue with the same character seem to support that. Now the problem starts when the transition from Normal to Nightmare is the same as the transition from Hell to Inferno.
LoN builds are difficult to construct, promote innovation, and should be valorised. I tried every sets with my monk in Season 10. As a newish player, my LoN Lashing Tail Kick build was my biggest achievement and a real pride (yeah and that primal in-geom)
I did grift 82 with this HC barb (with the gear you have) some season ago (after the change to WW), so you have plenty of room for improvement! :)

Was probably around P800 when I did this.
Necro.
1: Weapon & Shield - Kadala 1 hand weapon and sheild then upgrade your rares till you have the Jesseth set.
2: Start on season journey. https://d3resource.com/journey/ After you get your 4-piece (completing chapter 3) hope fully you would have picked up other set items along the way. I was luck and had a 2 piece pestilence with my 4 piece rathma so doing a GR 20 was really easy. Complete chapter 4 and you should now have the fully 6 and start doing some real damage (well your pets will)
With ALL of the pieces you can do a GR70 pretty comfortably: (it took me a while because the silly Circle of Nailujs Evol would refuse to drop for me and most of my pieces are not the greatest rolled)
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/volcom99-1751/hero/97098513
Rotation it pretty much send your commands out then summon mages, use the reapers and devour to build essence to summon more mages. Use Ice Golem to freeze elites when Land of the Dead is on cool down.
i still have my HC Witch Doctor :)
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/OraK-2941/hero/59574634 (from Vanilla to RoS para has been converted to 111)
I didn't touch it anymore cause i felt like that Vanilla HC was different from the RoS one, reaching para100 had a different feeling and satisfaction, that was one of the best moment i've ever had on Diablo.
That char and those moments don't belong to RoS, i'm gonna leave it as it is for the good old times :)
uhm...the new sets arent in 2.1.2
2.1.2:
-marauder/monkey sets reworked
-3 different goblins (blood shards, gems, standard)
-a little bit higher monster density on some rift maps
-ancient items
-5 new uniques in the season.
So pretty much nothing really exciting. I will participate in the new PoE Ladder (early december) though https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1111831
Well they said it would happen in an official news post, Coming Soon™. It's already been many years... Edit: some sources https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/7315729/appear-offline-option-coming-soon-to-battle-net https://us.battle.net/forums/en/overwatch/topic/20749868679#post-6
I have 32GB myself and run Diablo 3 on a RAM Drive, it is an excellent use for that memory. Although with a recent patch it seems like portions of the map are 'preloaded' and cause it to consume additional space. You don't have to reinstall, just simply copy and paste the Diablo 3 folder and launch from there.
As far as the RAM Drive I use Dataram's RAMDisk http://memory.dataram.com/products-and-services/software/ramdisk you'll have to buy a license to create a RAM Disk larger than 4GB (I run 20GB right now while playing Diablo). Insta-load for most areas.
You could just use this tiny program though: https://github.com/LorenzCK/OnTopReplica. Overlays any selected window with sizing, transparency, region definitions, etc. Would be better if you don't want to be flagged for botting from using AHK.
Figured would try to switch back and forward between those two images from the thread. Does not seem like glitch or photoshop since water texture affects it.
Made a gif to see if anyone else sees something I don't.

If you're talking about the listed dates on online stores, that's always the case when a game is announced for a specific year, listed on an online store front, but doesn't have a specific date announced. It's effectively a place holder.
Case in point, Amazon's own Lost Ark on Amazon's digital store front, which is scheduled to release sometime this fall without a specific date, yet shows December 31st.
All of this can be addressed if they make a PC counterpart. This will bridge the gap for PC gamers too. However, this means you'll be playing a mobile quality game on your PC, but at least you have that option. Also, you could crank the video settings as high as your PC would allow.
Eternium had done it well before. They have an installer for Android and Windows.
Not exactly blue post stuff, but here's some people talking about scaling last April.
>Games will scale to the host starting level +3 if there's a character of that level.
I miss megaupload. I just want people to be able to download it. Been adding more to it. Basically an armor calculator now. google doc link file ->save original as. it is office 2007.
If you enjoyed Diablo 2 and don't want to spend any money just yet, you should check out Path of Exile. It's a free-to-play ARPG, that focuses a bit more on the character build & gear strategy side of the genre.

That said, get Diablo 3 w/ Reaper of Souls if you can afford it - it's great and Season 4 starts next week, so there will be plenty of people to play with.
Well Twitch are against botting in multiplayer games according to their terms of conduct - "Any activity, such as cheating, hacking, botting, or tampering, that gives the account owner an unfair advantage in a online multiplayer game, is prohibited" - But i don't know if they ban people for breaking those rules or just warn them or whatever... Probably a ban eventually.
You got downvoted because you didn't use a spoiler tag.
[Also, the idea that Leah becomes Diablo wasn't exacly news 3 months ago.](/spoiler)

Greater Rift 111 Solo LoN Barber WD clear in 14:39 (NS - Era 7 - Patch 2.5.0)
Rank EU #2 - World #3 - 24/06/2017
Clear done without Conduit Pylon. I got lucky on the Vessel pack and on Binder w/ Power Pylon tho but considering the map, I'm happy with this clear :) As you can see in the introduction, I got quite alot of close tries in GR111, including two clears ~30 seconds too late on Floor 7. I'm still opening GR113 right now, trying to clear it before Era 7 ends !
Enjoy !

EDIT : I'm currently rendering a version with others musics as alot of people told me the video was unavailable. It will be there in a few hours. Sorry about that.
EDIT2 : Finally got a version that works, here is the link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGR1GLNEwAE
because stash space unless you pay for it is mostly for one character maybe? rather than being shared?
Shared stash space costs money if you want more, which people don't seem to agree with, just 2 examples of such
Here's the thing. Starcraft 2's minimum gpu requirement two years ago was a Radeon 9800 PRO, which has a passmark score of a little over 300. Your laptop's gpu scores barely over 100, so I can see how it would be somewhat possible to run SC2 at bare minimum settings. Diablo 3, however, is literally days old and has a minimum gpu requirement of a Radeon x1950 pro, which scores nearly 1000 in passmark. The fact that it's a much newer engine and more gpu dependent to begin with is the problem. Unfortunately 10% of the minimum requirements would probably run so terribly that you'd likely return it even if you could install it. I don't mean to make you feel worse, but to put it in a little better perspective, the GeForce 2 TI outscores your gpu by nearly 50 points and it came out almost 12 years ago. You're basically trying to run a brand new game on what is essentially 12 year old gpu technology. I'd make it a point in the future to use http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx before buying anything unless you have a brand new machine. Either way, sorry you lucked out. If you need any computer advice in the future, feel free to hit me up or ask /r/buildapc.
50KB/s == 180MB/hr
10GB monthly == 55 hr of "actively playing" Diablo
Thats ~2 hours/day to reach quota.
~1 hour a day of vigorous gameplay would use half of your monthly quota. That line is pretty painful if you're not super casual. (30 min/day avg using ¼ total quota, etc.)
Get home each night, run a few rifts for 60-90 minutes to blow off steam. Play a couple hours a day on the weekend. Easily half your quota or more.
edit:
Games are generally designed to gracefully degrade for poor/slower/overseas/dialup/etc. connections, but will happily use all the throughput available to provide a more optimal experience if its available. (This obviously doesn't take into account total transfer limitations/quota.) I wonder if using something like NetLimiter set to 20-25 KB/s to emulate a "slow connection" would still yield a playable experience while cutting the total data transfer significantly.
No. I wrote an article about this a couple years ago. They key word in replay value is VALUE. Excerpt:
"In D2, every class had a variety of builds that could result in different play styles. While the same holds true for D3, it doesn’t require you to create a new character and follow the process of leveling him up — which is the crux of the argument leveled against D3′s replay value. [...]
Unfortunately, this is the kind of argument that neglects the “value” part of “replay value.” Yes, D2 made you replay the game in order to spend your skill points differently — but this wasn’t added value. In D2, you were punished for experimenting or for simply being new to the game and not knowing how to wisely spend your skill points. As you reached the higher difficulty settings, you would realize that your current character was a dead-end and would be forced to create a new one that, frankly, didn’t suck.
While it can be argued that value is added for veterans who know exactly what they are doing, these are the same veterans that could get a character to high-level in a matter of days, if not hours — what value, then, is added if the process of replaying is sped through in order to reach the same point at which a Diablo 3 character would be who simply swapped his skills?"
Seriously - I can powerlevel someone to 70 in under 30 minutes (releasing a video on that tomorrow if you don't believe me). What's the difference between instantly trying a new build and having to do mindless busywork for 30 minutes before trying a new build?
If you want to create a new character to try out a new build, nothing is stopping you from creating a new character. At least it's your choice, and it's not forced upon you. The issue your raising has nothing to do with skill trees - it's simply a lack of variety in optimal end-game builds.
I am a bot. For those of you at work, I have tried to extract the text of the blue post from the us.battle.net forums: > >### Disconnections - 9/18 ### > >Lurdlespor / Customer Service > > > >***** > >We are currently investigating issues where players may receive disconnections and/or high latency when connected to Diablo III. > > > >In order to continue investigating and working on this issue, please can you let us reply to this thread with the following info: > > > >ISP : > >Location : > >And please include an MTR and Traceroute from your region, from here: > >http://us-looking-glass.battle.net/ > > > >Thank you in advance. > >________________________________________________ > >Let me know how I'm doing! > >https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Lurdlespor
Look into Diablo Archive, its a single book with 4 stories within it.
Legacy of Blood
Demonsbane
The Black Road
The Kingdom of Shadow
Ill post the link to it on Amazon, looks like its only 8$! I have read all of them multiple times, its a great read and very convenient.

Here's a thing that might help.
I took the info from this comment thread by /u/zbyxzh and /u/synchronized_ and re-arranged it to reflect the average progress per kill.
Since the values are average HP it's not always 100% accurate, but it gives you a good idea of which mobs are actually higher value than they appear in all the other lists. For example, Accursed are not generally something people bother with, but they actually give you more progress per damage done than Unburied. Their HP is usually low enough where you don't really have to try to kill them anyway, but it's just nice to know.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_the_differences_between_civil_law_and_common_law
That should give you the basic information that you want. No worries about laziness, it's not you could've even known the alternative to civil law to look for if you had no idea what it was :)
:'(
Math is a wonderful thing. It can be beautiful, but sadly it's not often taught that way. (Long article, but well worth the read for anyone interested in math or math education).
No stats directly from the beta, but here's a survey.
If you scroll to the bottom you can see:
"If you have played the Diablo III beta, what was your favorite class?"
Barbarian 490 24% Witch Doctor 277 13% Wizard 327 16% Monk 531 26% Demon Hunter 373 18%
Looks like monk is slightly more popular than barbarian.
If you want to add your own voice to the survey, the link for that is here.
16kB per stash tab worth of items assuming 128 bytes per item on the high end, assuming 70 of those items per tab which doesn't happen, and then doubling it.
So like 500GB per stash tab (over 30 million copies sold) of data they need to maintain and pump over the wire (at capacity - ignoring the evidence that their infrastructure can't really fully handle the amount of copies they've sold) and pay engineers to maintain to make sure they don't lose. The engineers - all of the costs of their infrastructure are dwarfed by having to pay their people. So you can 100% believe them when they say it really is a shitty anti-customer design / risk / ROI decision and not constrained by technology.
All of those numbers are wrong, naive numbers but I think they represent a decent magnitude. I think a 1 time fee of $3-5 (at scale) would pay for the fully loaded cost of developing the feature, hosting, backing up, sending/receiving, calculating upon your 16kB of data for the life of Diablo 3. And they still don't do it because somebody decided it wasn't worth it, there are only so many man hours in a day, they need to develop snowy ruins and cube features to keep selling copies - not QOL microtransactions.
But thankfully we have Path of Exile.
If you're going off Metacritic, then Diablo 3 is sitting at 88 for critic reviews. The user reviews are just backlash from gamers around the time of release, and aren't representative of the actual feeling towards the game currently (or even at release).
For comparison, Diablo 2 also scored 88 on Metacritic.
>That is also true of every big company
So can you elaborate how for example Valve is suffering from the same issues?

Do not kid yourself, Blizzard is ruled by investors like this, that will squeeze you for every penny on every IP that Blizzard will launch for the foreseeable future:

Trolls gonna troll... terribly. At least go here and learn some new words. Practice sounding them out, then check with mommy to make sure you're using them correctly. Otherwise go back to your sandbox where you can make believe you have power or friends.
Now, unlike you, I'm going to move on with my day and not spend any time pissing into a headwind. Thanks for being my amusing little internet toy. :D
Not sure if this works on Mac:
>To allow the most recent ladder runewords (1.13c) to singleplayer: > >1) Download this file: https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B_MKcrNsKcK6Zjg2NzYwOTMtYTQ3OC00M2FmLTliYzgtMTNlZDcyMTAyNzcx&hl=en > >2) Place it in the "Diablo II\data\global\excel" folder so that it looks something like this: Diablo II\data\global\excel\Runes.txt (note: you will need to create these folders) > >3) Add -direct -txt to the shortcut command-line so that it looks something like this: "C:\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -direct -txt
>4) Try out the runeword to see if it works. If it didn't work, close the game using the Task Manager... do NOT exit the game normally or it will save the lost runes.
>This will do the bare minimum to allow the usage of ladder runewords in singleplayer. This is the least invasive way to do it. No game files are changed, and if you want to revert it, just delete the data\global\excel folder!

This is an autohotkey script that just associates keys to new keys
<key in> : <key out> + <left/rightclick>
His script may or may not support left clicking, but you can always write a quick AHK script yourself.
https://autohotkey.com/docs/misc/Remap.htm
(fwiw, OP can also associate the AHK script with a specific application so that it's only active when D1/D2 are running)
There is but it's a bit tricky...
MultiRes as it is called is among the tips here with instructions:

Here is what I do in SP or when alone on the realms (although it is easier in SP).
Set to as high a "players setting" as you can in SP.
1-6 - Likely just by getting to the Trist quest. 7-14 - run Trist 15-20/23 Arcane Sanctuary/Area just outside the Tombs 20-24 The 6 Temples in Kurast 25 - either beat the Ancients (if you can) or just run the Temples some more 26-30/35 Just run up the Bloody Foothills as fast as you can. ---Try to find the best route with the most enemies on it without giving up speed. ---You can either continue to run the Bloody Foothills until 35 or just move on to Baal 31-40/45 Baal runs
Set to players 1 on SP
rush to Act 5. You will likely gain a few levels just trying to get to Act 5 again
Set back to as high a "players setting" as you can in SP.
45-70 Baal runs (you will need Meph/Baal runs on SP anyway for items)
Set to players 1 on SP
try to rush through to Act 5
Set back to as high a "players setting" as you can in SP.
Baal runs.

You can try https://joytokey.net/en/ but aiming might be a bit wonky since it will just mimic the mouse cursor and there aren't any directional movement buttons on PC (just force move).
Use DS4Windows.

This is what I am using, just make sure you run this prior to starting the game.
They couldn't have made a D4 logo and just did a mic-drop? Hell, they could've made a poster out of cardboard and crayons. Multi-billion dollar companies with the best people working in the industry? Starting to be hard to believe.
BTW, Jason Schreier is a fucking shill. I wouldn't trust a word he says after his insulting comments to the Diablo community.
1 - Check my (armory)[https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Kikaha-2290/hero/44085022]
2 - It's good but hard to get because you already need a ton of cdr. Unless you are pushing to the extreme limits, it's not a deciding gear factor.
3 - Thunderfury. Btw, my follower didn't have a weapon for my 119.
4 - Best trash is swarms, followed by lacuni/phasebeasts probably. You need a ton of density for lacuni/phasebeasts though. Pretty much all the 4p good mobtypes are good for crusader tbh. As far as boss are concerned, I'd say bone warlock and the spider queen are the best. Escandiel is nice but it's hard to stack stricken on him and you lose a ton of time that way.
If we're nominating challenge rift toons, can I please throw my hat into the ring with this:
https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Istaria-2554/hero/92749960
(all found in S10, was a season toon at the time)
Crumble used to do a "beam" of some sort when you kill an enemy with it. If I recall correctly it did 660% damage on proc and it worked really well when there were a lot of weaker enemies. I've done a whole season with it and it was really fun to use.
As stated [here]{https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/class/crusader/active/shield-bash} it only boosts damage to 875% now...

Far, far, far from optimal. My Shenlongs sucks. But the sheer amount of toughness Inna's gives you compared to raiments is nuts. Let me know what you think and where I can improve
