Hey! If you went through the polyclinic route, the appointment should not change (to confirm, download the Health Buddy or other health cluster app and check, or see if you've received the SMS that informed you of the appointment date/time). The only difference is, you won't be able to get subsidized fees until you have the polyclinic referral letter.
If you're in the private system, perhaps you might have to call in to check.

You can subscribe to BritBox: Which has some new stuff and quite a decent back catalogue of older shows from ITV and BBC. VPN needed but any UK IP seems fine.
ITV Hub is the same, just a VPN with a UK IP seems to be fine, there's no aggressive protection.
BBC iPlayer and Channel 4 on-demand, you need a VPN that is not blacklisted, I use NordVPN and they keep a current blog post with what servers are fine and so far I've not had any issues, occasionally one server gets blacklisted but you can just move to another.
I have been using ExpressVPN since 2017. Absolutely no complaints. Don't really detect any issues with speed, so much so that I pretty much leave it on all the time except when accessing certain sites like SG Pools and MeWatch. Telegram/WhatsApp work just fine even with VPN on and connected to foreign servers.
I am more inclined to believe that racism in Singapore stems from tribal instinct of humans. Highly recommend reading this book: Thinking fast and slow. So it's probably hard to see that humans behave a lot like animals. Lots of us like to use think instinctively and emotionally. This is why philosophy which encourages rational thinking is so unpopular every since centuries ago.
So people being people, when we see something we disagree with (like my comment), you might get emotionally aroused. And when you are emotionally aroused, do you act emotionally? Do you resort to ad-hominem and classify 'me' as an idiot? So what's the difference when a kid sees someone from another race and stereotype them and even resort to ad hominem?
>Chinese kids say a nasty comment to Malay kids by stereotyping "malays are ..."
>
>Reddit users say a nasty comment to boomers by stereotyping "boomers are ..."
>
>Singaporean judge comments from non-singaporeans by stereotyping "xxx are ...."
If you are the only person in a group with a distinct trait, will you get special treatment?
>Only female in class
>
>Only angmoh in the platoon
>
>Only bald person in the workplace
Herd mentality has always existed. If you possess a distinct trait and you are just one person, it is easy for a bully to pick on you.
I mean, there's nothing wrong with getting referrals.
Trying to get people to "try a new browser" without telling them that you stand to gain from their download is a tiny bit unethical, don't you think?
5 USD for every referral? No wonder you want to get people to download.
Personally I feel like the biggest hurdle for learning a language is setting up your environment in the first place. Make sure you set up your coding workspace first before you go deep into Python because reading up on coding without entering the commands yourself means you lose out on the learning experience
The most user-friendly environment for you to use is Spyder editor on Anaconda (https://www.anaconda.com/products/individual). It may take some time to set up, but this is what I started out with and it’s 100% worth it
I’ve signed up for NordVPN and the speed was ridiculous. If I’m connected to sg servers I lost like 40-60% of the speed I was getting. If I’m connected to overseas servers I’m running about 40-200+ mbps at times. Torrenting works better in the long run as sometimes the shows buffer really long that I get really frustrated. I hate lag the most and I can’t stand it.
I used it initially for overseas shows and some protection when I’m doing banking stuff / personal stuff like managing my portfolios.. But after that I kinda had enough that I ended up not using the remaining duration after the first year. I bought the 5 years plan and am still on it.
For reference, this is my enclosure. The thing I want to protect with my life. That's the size of it.

Logitech MK850
Fits your budget, bluetooth, number pad, keyboard+mouse, good reviews.
Logitech keyboard/mouse are decent for the price point. I had a Logitech keyboard that had an insane battery life, had double clicking issues so I got a Keychron, worse decision ever. Lousy battery life means I'm using it wired. Was using Logitech mouse previously and am using one now.
I’d recommend AmazonBasics monitor arm (https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Single-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN16O). There should be a 2-arm version that can hold 2 monitors. Well made, the gas spring works very well and holds in place minute adjustments well too. Cable management is pretty practical and useful.
A cheaper brand is VIVO (also on Amazon), own a few of their stuff (static non-gas spring monitor arms) and it’s very well made too.
Don’t recommend Ergotron; bought one when I wanted to save some money and it sucks balls. Not sure whether it’s a defective set or not but whatever.
The great ones I've seen and I wished I got were: power banks, tumblers, laptop sleeves, notebook, a nice diffuser, and an interesting mug (example)
Yeah exactly, but not in the case of PureVPN. If you are looking for a VPN, so go for PureVPN as they are offering 88% off on a 2-Year Plan and you have to pay as low as $1.33 per month. This is surely a Steal Deal!
Kirkland is just the brand of the minoxidil, it is the same, I got mine in a pack of 6 from Amazon, each bottles lasts about a month!

Just kidding.

As for the rate, it depends on the level you're teaching, and experience you have. A teacher who works for MOE or used to work for MOE can demand more, but I know of people who have worked 7 - 10 years in the private tuition industry and can ask for a higher rate despite not being MOE trained.

Theravada Buddhist here. To be honest, when it comes to learning about Buddhism, you will probably find better resources online. There are also a number of quality monks/nuns on Youtube sharing the Dhamma.
In Singapore, you will find almost all flavors of Buddhism represented here. It is not uncommon for Theravada monks to be invited for talks in Mahayana temples and vice versa etc. And Buddhists followers going around different temples/centers.
There is great mutual respect and among the different Buddhist groups despite differences in scriptures, cosmology, philosophy, practices and beliefs because we all follow the Buddha and we all share the same goal of ridding dukkha.
Hope you find a place that suits you. Remember also you are free to hop around! There are many retreats, meditation classes, dhamma classes in various centers that are open to everyone.
If you feel you have Theravada leanings, I can recommend you this book by Bhikkhu Bodhi, In the Buddha's Words: An Anthology of Discourses from the Pali Canon.
https://www.amazon.com/Buddhas-Words-Anthology-Discourses-Teachings-ebook/dp/B003XF1LIO
It’s a great introduction to Buddhism based on the earliest recorded collection of teachings.
I used to be obsessed with personality theories. Would always think of traits and characteristics, want to improve myself. Now I don't.
I realized there is always a projection like a shadow. Always trying to chase this "shadow" and never being contented.
I was enlightened after reading this book. If you think of the past(history), you can think of the future. If you live in the moment, you don't think of either since there is no projection. If you can feel happy, you can also feel unhappy.
Sigmund Freud coined the term Das Unbehagen which can be translated to unease. He wrote in his book that when humans entered society we conform and repress our instincts. Take the law of monogamy for example.
Philosophers have this yearly survey which you can view the results Is there really an ultimate morality? Or do we learn morality? Like how you can observe the different right and wrongs in Christians, Americans, Japanese, Muslims, your mother's and your dog.
Mental health treatment in singapore is miserably lacking in the public sector. You can get referrals for psychiatry and public hospitals It should set you back about 30+ a month for regular treatment, but usually therapy is needed to learn coping mechanisms and 200+ a session tends to make a lot of people not go. The government subsidised ones usually have a 6 month + wait list if not longer.
I think books really help me, but those geared towards healing and understanding vs. toxic self help books.
My therapist recommended me this book, which is a good look into schema therapy. I recommend trying the exercise if any of the schemas fit you.
https://www.amazon.com/Reinventing-Your-Life-Breakthrough-Negative/dp/0452272041
Another book which I intend to look at is The Body Keeps Score, which seems to have good reviews but I haven't read yet so I can't say for sure.
Many people recommend The Power of Now, which is good to help you focus. I listen to the audio when I'm anxious or just need to silence any racing thoughts.
Also, there are a number of ADHD channels on YouTube that delve deeper into the topic, and provide useful coping mechanisms that I listen to on the regular.
I do go for therapy and still think it's beneficial to talk to a trained professional, but if there are too many barriers then looking into the healing literature will surely help. You'll have to be your own therapist in a way, which will definitely be much harder since you are essentially "self-teaching" yourself into healthier mindsets.
Remember that getting better is usually a long process that can take years since its learning many life skills.
17m super into traditional card and tile games, made 2 for National Day:
So Far So Good & HiMiLoDì (WIP) (for r/SGraws and SG respectively)
and a few Singapore-themed ones after I realised Singapore has close to no history in card gaming other than 大二, Mahjong (SG, Chinese and MCR) and French suited games have fallen out of favour with the general population.
^(their game or ours?!)
What we should understand is that we can fuse and hybridise some of our games to make them more fun, crazy and harder! I made only 4 games with my own self-made rules. After embracing Pagat.com, I made 24 more in 3 weeks!
^(fostering addiction!)
Agreeably, this is serious. But the solution is very simple. Replace antes/blinds/bets with points and every small treat requires 1k points or above to win. Beyond this, it's at your own discipline, own discretion, OTOT. Read Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Gamblingfor more info.
^(Come on, people.) I literally cannot say this enough. MOBA and social media are the most (trigger warning! ⚠️) >!rote rinse and repeat shiz of all time brah!<.
With that said, I'm looking for a strong and supportive traditional card gaming community in Singapore that's non-toxic and willing to welcome this strong, inquisitive and >!a bit immature(!?)!< young mind, as well as others from my school (will be heading a student interest group).
P.S. looking for strong and relatable [to youth] coach(es) for Schnapsen, Bridge, Euchre, other 2 player partnership competitive strategy card games etc.
Get powerline adapters. Connect one to your router and connect the other one to the power outlet in your room. The internet traffic is routed using your home electrical wiring. You can hook up your PC to the powerline adapter in your room using an ethernet cable.
It is something like https://www.amazon.sg/TP-Link-AV2000-Powerline-Adapter-TL-PA9020P/dp/B01H74VKZU/?th=1
Buy the powerline adapters from Challenger or some other local store, not Amazon, to make sure that it fits Singapore's type-G plugs.
Write a list you normally do with people, and do them alone.
I went thru something similar myself and I realized that people are always going to come and go with our lives. Thus building a relationship with ourselves will help us pull through situations like this.

It would probably be useful to have some knowledge of what individual specs you want, so you can narrow it down. If you're playing FPS games, you won't need a powerful GPU. 3050Ti or 2060 should be more than sufficient.
Would recommend you get something with a SSD instead of HDD, it will make everything faster.
Haven't used it, but you may want to look at:
Depends on what are critical features for you. For me, some of the features I was looking for were:
Ideal option is to test out different providers. Most providers do give you a trial for a week or 2. I did do a bakeoff a while ago before choosing expressvpn. Used to be on astrill before that.
TMI but I hope this helps.

Etymotic makes the best earplugs and they combine them with very well made earphones. The earplugs block as much noise as some of the best noise cancelling headphones, and playing peaceful music would block any remaining sounds.
Funny thing is, white teeth isn't even normal. Teeth are suppose to be yellowish, the dental whitening industry has successfully managed to make white the norm.

bro... if i found out my child watched porn without vpn, i would be very upset because vpn is essential to internet safety. they keep your ip addresses masked so that you can have fun on the internet, safely. use promo code PantySmasher69 on ExpressVPN today for 10% off. That's right, 10% off your annual bill.
Don't bring a travel adapter, instead get a USB adapter when you arrive or a light travel adapter like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B094DVH5D4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The problem with most travel adapters is that they don't support Australia, and they're heavy and bulky which impacts your baggage and can make the unit pry itself out of a wall socket.
obesity definitely has a role to play here and should be your number 1 priority. Not only will you be sweating from carrying all that excess weight around, by being obese you also have many folds of skin on your body trapping sweat and bacteria causing odors
While you work on that, take at least 3 showers per day, and use roll on deodorant (i recommend (i recommend this one) not just in the armpit area but any parts of your upper body that sweat/trap sweat excessively
Well not everyone is open to conversion. Part of not forcing someone is being aware if someone is open to it and knowing when to back off. It’s not a matter of how it’s done, but a matter of if it should be done.
Case in point, I’ve heard the sales pitch for ExpressVPN from every YouTuber on the site. The next video I watch could have the most perfect way of selling it, but if I hear that name one more time I think I might pull my hair out.
yes, VPN is fine, I use NordVPN.
One tip, you need to setup your VPN so it always goes to BBC via the UK server, if you connect from Singapore it remembers your location and you then need to reset your browser for it to work again.

In my opinion, all parents should read this book before deciding to have a child.

I use AirVPN. I prefer small more obscure companies. They have as well Singapore servers, so it can be used to consume SG media from overseas. The setup is not so trivial on mobile devices because they do not have their own app, but if you can follow instructions it is not that had.
I spent almost $300 on this and regretted lol…
I play this game called "Train Simulator" so I thought buying this controller would be good. But then I sort of moved on to other games and rarely played TS.
Haven't been able to get any interested buyer on Carousell since.
I have a Wyze Robot Vacuum Cleaner and a Samsung Jetbot Mop. They've definitely made my life much easier. They're both US imports but they're rated for 100V-240V so they'll work in SG.
Chose the Wyze because it's the only robot vacuum at that price point with a LIDAR, meaning that it will actually map your house and clean intelligently. The Samsung mop is dumb but does its job fine anyway.

From what I know, the lag is due to some undersea cable being damaged.
I'm using mudfish which is a korean 'gaming ' vpn. My ping is back down to 70-80ish 90% of the time, with occasional spikes and DCs.
I started with 4990 KRW ($5 usd) worth of credits 2 weeks ago, currently at 4572 KRW. Thats with easily 5hrs+ of FFXIV everyday. I would recommend this since this is the cheapest solution.
You can try other 'gaming' VPNs like WTFast and Exitlag or mainstream ones like NordVPN but they all charge like $8+/month minimum.
All the best!
Sounds interesting. Hmm.. I do not know of any online forums for local developers. However, I can recommend you try here:
> 1) The HardwareZone has lots more traffic than reddit singapore. Try to ask around there. Its where lots of people go to dicuss tech & gadgets.
> 2) Quora would be a good place to ask about business promotion topics related to Singapore. There are some singaporeans there who may answer your queries if they see your post.
All the best!! And if I may ask, I presume you're from Russia?
Answer from a previous thread: The Samsung Jetbot robot mop. I hate mopping, so this makes my life much easier. Voltage of charger is 100V-240V so no problems using it in SG.
Also started making my place more cozy, so I started spending money on art and candles. Bought this LOTR print in the largest size, well-worth the price. It's definitely a statement piece and any LOTR fan will love it. For candles, I started buying Bath and Body Works which can add up very quickly, but I love their scents. Might get a Diptyque/Jo Malone candle someday if I can stomach the price (~$100 for a candle).
I swear by these disposable earplugs, have been wearing them for years at night for sleep. Even though it's supposed to be single use, I can usually get a week out of them before throwing them away. DM me if you want a few pairs from me.

A resume is a one- to two-page document presenting key facts about your professional experience, educational background, and skills. A CV (Curriculum Vitae) is a longer document that details the whole course of your career. A resume is used for job search, a CV—for academic purposes. Source
I'll start by saying that the job scope for software engineer can vary widely from company to company, and depending on the role. There are different types of software engineers out there (+ Site Reliability Engineer not in the list).
In general, software engineers solve problems, which can include new features or existing bugs, and writing code is just part of the job. A lot of the time is spent on discussions with my colleagues to understand an issue or new feature before the implementation starts. We also spend effort designing the code to be easily reusable and clean, so there's a lot going on before coding starts. In fact, the more senior an engineer gets, the lesser coding is needed (focus is more on architecture design).
I can only speak from my experience, for bugs, QA/test engineers will test every bug fix or feature before releasing. If there's issues found, they'll log down the issue on a ticket, and that ticket gets prioritized by my product owner and passed on to developers. Similarly for features, product owner gathers the requirements from customers, translate business requirements into technical requirements, prioritize it and pass on to devs for implementation. Hope that helps.
Depends on where they are going, you can consider a coat. It's autumn now and will get quite chilly. If they're going to the south, something medium would be good enough. If they are going anywhere but south, heavy duty should be great though. They can use them right away. . If coat is too expensive, you can gift them a VPN, I would recommend NordVPN since I spent 7 years there and 4 years subscription with good, try to find a deal through YouTubers or their sales event. Pretty solid connection. . Another cheaper option is something uniquely tropical. This is mostly food, but they are only limited to dried and instant noodles. Find something uniquely from Singapore that you can't find on Taobao. Maybe that person's favorite instant noodles. Chinese noodles are great, but what about some thing that are very nostalgic?
I spent 7 years in China before coming to Singapore, still have subscription of NordVPN and sharing with some of the lads still in China, seems working fine. I can download Torrent and Google Drive on them at around 5+MB/s-ish, sometimes 10 depends on the connection...although they explicitly said no torrenting and streaming , I'm still not banned and have another year of sub...still usable in Singapore for...
Do you even cook or bake on a regular basis?
You may want to read this book called "Salt, Fat, Acid n Heat." It provides a good overview of the four basic elements of good cooking. Most cookbooks tell you the ingredients needed n the steps to make a dishes but ''Salt, Far, Acid, Heat" explains why should you do certain things. Eg marinating meat before cooking, not using cheap cooking oil.
My advice is to focus on doing one thing well - Eg. if you want to be a chef, to practice cooking/baking more because it sounds like you want to be both a chef and to master a foreign language. You might be stretched thin trying to do many things.

This book is available on NLB.
Toy cars? Tom & Stephanie usually has Hot Wheels (lots of variety, colours) or Matchbox (more understated designs) for $7.80 (3 for price of 2). Or if you go to Metro, Majorette cars (usually nothing but Honda Civics... so many Civics) for 3 for two, also $7.80. But Majorette cars tend to be much more detailed.
If he's interested in coding and computers, this is a neat book for him to be entertained with, though it's around $3 more than your budget. Basic coding concepts explained with colours and I don't think it's like the python for kids books that requires a PC. 10's a great age to get them acquainted with basic code.

I am also very tempted by the prospect of buying a $600 Apple watch and getting subsidised by gahmen. But like you, I am mightily put off by the idea of charging every night. Especially my current Amazfit Bip only need a charge every 30 days.
I doubt that it will be a lump sum $380 "cashback" after two years. Have you looked at Healthy 365 (Google, Apple)? You can earn $5, $10 vouchers on it, I reckon LumiHealth will function similarly.
I use NordVPN since I'm not looking for any sort of extra privacy, just to move my location around and it's been working great for me so far in SG. It also works on Android TV, so you can use apps from different geos (e.g., rather than getting TV from SingTel I signed up for SlingTV and use NordVPN to make it think I'm in the states still). It also works with BitTorrent via SOCKS 5, has a pretty decent Chrome / Firefox extension, mobile support works great on Android, etc.
Given the recent issues they've had about privacy, it might not be a great choice for that. But for streaming and such, I've had very few issues.
Side note: when I visit the site, I see a 70% off 3-year deal and ShopBack's plugin shows me an *additional* 70% cashback until 19-July. If that's true, then this would make it absurdly cheap... (like $40 USD for 3 years after the cash back thing, so like a dollar per month...). There's also a 30-day money back thing... so if it sucks and doesn't meet your needs for gaming latency or streaming bandwidth, just cancel?
I use ExpressVPN because their customer service in impeccable. They’ll tell you exactly which server to connect to for a particular show on Netflix, live chat too. The speed drop after connection isn’t very significant either.
I personally use ExpressVPN because their live customer service is fucking amazing
Sites like Netflix sometimes catch VPN servers and block them. Wanna watch this show from this country but still cannot connect? Chat with their live customer service and they’ll tell you which servers can still be used and which serves are known and blocked by netflix.
Their connection for HK servers are pretty fast too, so it’s quite convenient for your HD needs on certain PH and xHam sites.
Never tried NordVPN before even with all the advertisements, but there was news earlier on where their servers were compromised without them knowing for quite some time.
About 1.7K SGD with shipping, The ASUS TUF A15 (Ryzen 7 4800H + RTX 2060)
Unfortunately I'm not sure whether physical stores would carry this product as AMD is not as popular in Singapore but Ryzen 4000 is really slaying it.

>Would prefer to buy it from physical shops rather than online
Normally physical shops would cost more, but if you want warranty security, go for it! :)
If you are keen on upgrading SSD/RAM on your own you can DIY it and save a couple hundred bucks, RAM/SSD add-on options are daylight robberies currently.
Tip: You’re gonna need a VPN too and not just the generic ones like Hotspot Shield. From my experience those don’t work, and I had to set up a VPN server myself in my Singapore home and connect back to that (so it thinks I’m at home) in order to stream Singtel TV GO overseas.
i got my mitsubishi starmex from
https://www.facebook.com/Star-Cool-Air-Condition-Engineering-Aron-Ah-Boon-355281117982556/
I approached them due to plenty of positive references.
as far as I know, you can't really go wrong with ME, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries .
my previous aircon was also starmex, I changed it only because the previous installer did such a terrible job. (ie: leaky refrigerant piping, poor insulation causing mold and condensation on the aircon trunking).
you can also greatly increase the lifespan/cleaning cycle by using http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BO96IW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 since you barely get any dust/mold growing in the fan coil itself (ie: looks practically new, don't need to clean at all everytime I clean the filters)
