Only a few screens for now, what does everyone think?

Edit: if the dev does happen to see this, i based it mostly on the Google Play Movies + TV app, highly recommend as a source of inspiration for a faithful Leanback based Movie/TV app UI.

This is something I've wanted to see implemented for a while now. I don't know of any streaming app that allows it.

That makes no sense that Vodafone is doing that! Trakt.tv is just one more social network like many others!

About the use of VPN with Real Debrid I had the same problem as you did. What you can do is first go here: https://real-debrid.com/vpn and you’ll find a list of white listed VPNs. If your VPN is on that list but it’s still being blocked it might be because they have a new server that needs to be added to that white list. In order to do that go here: https://real-debrid.com/support and send them a request with proof that IP address you’re using is from a VPN and they’ll added and you’ll be free to do everything you want.

Yep, I'm having issues with RD buffering too. Works perfectly for a few shows and then buffers like crazy. I've switched to different RD links during a show and had the same problem. I've rebooted my router, restarted TVZion, rebooted my NvidiaShield, turned off my VPN. I have 100mb/s internet. Nothing stops it until the next day when I can watch a couple shows before it starts doing it again.

Edit to add that I sort by bit rate and the show last night was supposed to be 10mb/s. Buffered like a mofo

You get what you get as far as interface goes (can't skin it like kodi). If you want to see content from Netflix, you can follow a trakt list and add the list as a widget to your home screen or browse said list through the trakt screen.

Rd is real-debrid. This is a dedicated service with lower traffic to links so you have less chance with buffering. Using non Rd links will increase your chances of buffering so it doesn't matter how fast your internet is. If you decide to purchase make sure you enable in the app.

Vlc is a free video player that you can install and use which I highly recommend. If you decide to use vlc make sure you enable in the app.

For those having issues with RD visit Real Debrid/Account Settings

Look for where it says CDN server selection, switch it from automatic to disabled.

This will connect you directly to their EU servers.

Real debrid is doing maintenance and adding servers so your region may be under maintenance.

This has helped a few people in our facebook group so it may help you.

If you are NOT having issues with RD links not working do NOT worry about this setting.

This app just changes your DNS to 1.1.1.1 nothing else. You can do it yourself, this is just easier.

I have worked out what the problem is, am am in the UK and use ExpressVPN it appears that if i connect to a UK server it will not work but as soon as i connect to a server in the Netherlands BAM it works fine, i am now going to contact Express VPN and ask them what's going on, Hopefully other people will find this helpful

But for future reference you go to Real Debrid/Account

Look where it says account settings in bold letters, bottom right of that box will say CDN server selection.

You can test Cloudflare, Disabled, or automatic to see which one works best for you.

Should be set to automatic by default.

Go to Tvzion settings>accounts>real debrid>login

Then just follow the onscreen instructions to sync RD with Tvzion.

Its best to use a mobile phone/device other than the device you are syncing to go to the web address and enter the code.

You'll get an on screen popup with a code, just enter that code at Real-Debrid.com/device and then click done on your streaming device.

To log into Zion Club just open TvZion settings, click the very top option/line and enter your club code.

Final follow up.

I have two fire sticks with different amazon accounts. I kept one at home and the other when I travel. Because I was using RD while on travel and it was being used at home at the same time it appears as sharing which is against their TOS.

I was emailed by RD and they automatically deleted my devices and made me change my password.

There seems to be issues with the torrent feature in RD. I tried to add the magnet manually on my pc and got the error message said "No server is currently available to handle your torrent file / magnet transfer, please try again later." You can see in their forum that people getting the same error as well. (https://real-debrid.com/forum-view-25588)

You probably need help from other aussies that have BNB broadband to confirm if they have similar issues.

Usually RD can have issues with certain ISPs.

Try logging into https://real-debrid.com/downloads and download the same file you saw buffer on your laptop. Make note of the download speed. That will give you an idea if the speed is being throttled.

Confirmed, same issue for me. I can start up when I use a vpn, unfortunately debrid hates the vpn

If it helps anyone, I set up dns over TLS. You could use adguard as a vpn which sets up a private vpn or intra from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.intra

I was facing the same issue but with trakt as well. I only use it on my phone so I found out that it was a DNS issue and I just installed the 1.1.1.1 app by cloudflare. It works like a VPN but there is no speedloss and it only manages the DNS search. Try it maybe it'll work.

If you use ADM you can select and location to download too.

Once you have ADM installed, instead of clicking download on the video, copy the link. Once you copy the link ADM will automatically popup and ask to verify that you want to download the file. You can change the name and download location at this point.

Thanks. I'm not sure what else I can do at the point. I've been reading the Fire stick should be able to handle it. I was thinking about getting the Shield and just wiring it to my satellites.

But before that I guess I should try NordVPN or Premiumize. Do you have any experience with those?

Here are some speedy options you may try. I like TorGuard for speed, it is my go-to choice. However, Mullvad VPN, Private VPN, AirVPN, and PureVPN are fast, as well. Most of those options have Netflix support, too.

Private Internet Access. Perfect app for my Nvidia Shield. Even let's you deselect which apps you don't want protected. In my case, I use YouTube TV, so I allow it through my normal IP address. Of course, I protect a single buffer for me and I only have 50mbs down.

I have resolved this issue. Believe it or not IPVanish was the issue. Changed IPVanish servers and now RD is working. I think I got blocked by the New York server or something. If this happens again then something is up with this APK causing this. I have been using IPVanish and RD and APK's for years. And ALWAYS thru the New York server. Anyways I will let the Dev know if it happens again.

Zion works well even on low end hardware. Amazon Fire 7 2015 version, a $ 35 tablet on sale. 1.3 GHz cortex A7 x4, mali 450, only 1 GB ram. No problems. If it can work well on that then bloat is not the problem.

You didn't even mention what device you are using.

They just released in theaters is why. The main lists are based on trakt or TMDB lists which have nothing to do with zion or piracy at all. I would follow a list like this and use it for releases instead.

Option 1:

use the new 'profile' setting.

Create a profile named 'US'. For this profile, associate a specific trakt account. So it will have the watchlist for both of you. Create a separate profile for you, and for him (if needed) with different trakt accounts

Option 2:

Go to trakt.tv and create a custom list yourself. Name it whatever like 'My Sci-fi stuff'. Once it is created, make sure that you 'like it' with the thumbs up. Once it is liked, it will automatically appear on zion in the trakt section of the associated profile. You can then use this list from there, or add it to your home screen, etc.

I am probably wrong but TVZION will mark the TV or movie as watched as soons as it start playing / stop and send that flag to your Trakt.tv account

As far as I know there is not config setting that will allow you to configure it like:

In my previous life I was a heavy user of Kodi Add-ons and they Usually has that config available via the add-ons it self or via a separate Trakt.tv addons

2.- on the search bar select List then type * click OK, it will show all public list there are very good ones some of them were created by TVZION moderators
3.-Open up the open you like
4.- Click on the thumps up, it will be added to your account
** repeat 2 and 4 with the rest you like

The lists will show up in TVZION as part of your track account

you can build your own list and make it public for others to enjoy

Just to let everyone know I installed Cinema HD and logged in to my RD account. Tried a few of the same shows that weren't working and they all worked with no issues.

Now the only issue is Trakt.tv login through Facebook doesn't work lol. Always something...

This is how I did mine, using trakt. Its not for everyone, but hopefully helps.

2. Use torse and search for the anime and add it to your debrid manager.

Open your anime inside zion and use the trakt list, search using debrid manager.

It is an extra step, and you need to have real dedrid or premiumize for torrents.

I have made a Holiday list. Not strictly Hallmark, but a lot of great movies.

It's because the Trakt website itself uses fanart wallpapers for these sections rather than standard posters. TVZion can only scrape what is there. Take a look on trakt.tv and you'll see what I mean.

I suggest couple of things to resolve your problem ( btw my configuration is AFTV Gen 2 (5 of them) and 4k Stick (2 of them) with Zion Club + RD + Trakt.tv), and everything works perfect

1.- I strongly suggest to view all youtube videos about it they are very good and pretty much resolve all config issues you may Have
2.- I never use XpresssVPN I USE PIA but disable VPN and run some test AFTER you have TVZION configure properly
3.- ReRERERERE confirm EXPRESS VPN will work with RD not all VPN will
4.- Subscribe to the discord support group be nice and they will help you
5.- Take reading lessons because the problem is not the software is you , 90% of the issues is wrong config

I am very happy with TVZION I am using it in a daily basis the only problem I ever had is with RD and by reregister it fix the problem is one of the best

one more suggestion take a walk relax coma back start from the beginning you will see all will work

Buffering can be cause by 100 different reasons but is not TVZION ( let be clear I am not defending them hope this is clear ) but we need to be real TVZION a just a very Smart search engine that take very good advantage of RD functionality + trakt.tv, nothing else, in my case I use PIA VPN ( we all know very well the consequences of using a VPN) and I never ever had problems

You should really consider making an account. It takes about 2 minutes. It allows you to keep track of all the shows you are watching, allows you to keep track of things you want to watch, and provides a plethora of lists and recommendations so you'll always have something to watch. And the best part is that it syncs accross all your devices so you can always stay up to date no matter what app or device you're using.

I can scroll past & through Watchlist, Collection, History, without any issues but the other lists cause lagging & this list causes the app to force restart.

Unfortunately changing default sorting on Trakt website is not reflected in the app. I would like to be able to change sorting by the date item was added to the list, especially in the "latest releases" list curated by Gilad & Alex https://trakt.tv/users/giladg/lists/latest-releases witch by the way is shown twice in TVzion for some reason.

1. It doesn't always pull the correct next episode from trakt. I manually marked seasons as watched in trakt, so I marked only season 5 as watched of 90 day fiance and it's telling me the next up episode is season 5 episode 2. I watched 2 episodes on Zion then the rest of the season on a different app cause Zion couldn't find any links for the rest of the season. So I manually marked the season watched on trakt after I finished it. Then I did a clean install of Zion and it shows next up is season 5 episode 2, it should be season 6 episode 1.

Also for history list is there anyway you can only show one movie once and not duplicates? Cause I replay the same movie like every week to fall asleep to multiple times a night lol. So avatar shows like 4 times.

1. Home customization has a couple of issues, when I long press on the title to add or change a list, keyboard on the firetv will automatically pop up, so I have to press back, the categories drop down I cannot access with remote. Can you also add the ability to organize the lists, so like change which show first. Device is: Fire TV 3 4k pendant

Things to take note of, all the trakt list posters do not show the release date, they also all pull ratings from trakt, this can get confusing as the others are pulled from the movie db, which will be different. Hopefully one day you will give us the option to choose are rating provider like show all ratings from Imdb etc.

I would say go with anidb since it has scene release and group names etc. This will result in easier searches for anime on torrents.

Both are very complete in all anime shows + movies etc. I have no idea why people uses MAL. Possible reason is because MAL has a big user base for discussions.

Act fibernet user here. The API used by almost all apps to get the data of TV shows is blocked, so none of the TV streaming apps work.

That's TMDB (TheMovieDB) which is just a information database anyway so it's quite unfair to block something which is just like IMDb or Wikipedia.

Write an email to your ISP support highlighting the fact that http://www.themoviedb.org is wrongfully blocked because it is just an information database.

In the meantime you may be able get around the block if you switch your DNS to Google or Cloudflare. But unfortunately this doesn't work on all Android TV devices.

The best reason to use a VPN with Real Debrid is that Real Debrid keeps your user activity and data logs (it's written in their privacy agreement).

In my opinion, the French will cave-in to overbearing authority today every bit as much as they did to the Germans in World War II — and RD is even up front about it:

Datalogging

Are they host links or cached torrents (cached torrents will have a magnet icon next to them and require Zion club)

I had issues with many RD host links so I disabled them and use only cached torrent links myself.

Clear cookies and restart Tvzion by going to TvZion>settings>app+data management>clear cookies and restart/kill TvZion.

Also I would suggest rebooting your router/modem periodically, I normally do this once or twice a week.

Run the test and see what speeds you're getting on the server you're connected to.

You can change your CDN to Automatic, Cloudflare, or disabled under account settings to see if any of those help.

Stremio has no RD integration & relies on torrents to pull free content. So, you would need a VPN for Stremio in that case. Apk apps like Zion, Cinema, Cyberflix, etc all allow you to pair with RD, which will encrypt anything you watch on those apps. Because of this, a VPN isn't completely necessary unless you really want the extra layer of privacy & security. I wouldn't recommend it though, as many VPN's don't work with RD(https://real-debrid.com/vpn).

Every time you click add account you will get a new code. You need to add that code into RD after you are logged into RD website.

My solution, go to account settings at https://real-debrid.com/account

Find CDN Servers Selection, select Disabled. If you get a #100 error ignore and refresh page. It should save your change.

If it didn't save and you're on mobile try on desktop.

So my fixes for this were turning off my VPN temporarily but the error occured later.

My 2nd fix that seems to have been permanent was to log in to real debris and go to account, https://real-debrid.com/account , while on desktop. Mobile didn't work for me, I'll explain.

Under account settings find CDN Servers Selection Automatic is toggled by default, select Disabled. You'll probably get a red error box #100. Ignore this and refresh and selection will be saved.

For me while on mobile refreshing after selecting disabled did not save changes.

VPN is up and no RD errors on any devices for me now. Let me know if this helps anyone.

You are most likely using a VPN that has not reported its full IP address range to RD (Non-cooperative VPN provider), therefore you are being blocked with the current assigned IP address.

Visit https://real-debrid.com/vpn to see if you are being blocked and you will have to report your VPN IP address for it to be whitelisted.

Real Debrid's API for apps is broken, has been for quite a while. Most of the time even if you do get it to start downloading, it has a random alphanumeric string for the name instead of the name of the torrent which breaks that torrent for everyone using an app that scrapes RD for cached torrents. You're better off just copying the magnet link and using https://real-debrid.com/torrents to upload them to RD

Not necessary to use a VPN with RD or PM as the connection is already encrypted. The only thing an ISP would see is a secured connection to an RD or PM server but not the content. RD / PM aren't illegal services, so there's nothing for them to see there.

Plus, you can encounter issues on their services with some VPNs. You can check https://real-debrid.com/VPN for a list of compatible ones.

Go to https://real-debrid.com to create an account and choose which plan you want. I usually do 3 months for around $10. Then you can plug the RD info into TvZion and make sure you have cached torrents enabled in RD settings in TvZion.

It's not a dumb question. Real debrid servers are encrypted so you do not need to use a VPN with RD links. That being said if you're geo locked or feel you must need a VPN anyway make sure to use one that works with real debrid. Some work some dont. I dont know how RD picks and chooses but you can find the info here. I use PrivateInternetAccess and IpVanish with RD with no problems the last year or so.

i mean..even if they don't resolve all links, there's a chance multiple ips could be streaming at the same time, but you haven't got caught yet. very lucky lol. your download list(https://real-debrid.com/downloads) probably has bunch of different ips.

that is really weird. if it happens to rd links as well, go to https://real-debrid.com/downloads . You will see the links resolved by tvzion. So those are the same files you've played within tvzion. yes. you can add torrent file(*.torrent) or magnet link here, then rd will download them. and if others already did, you get it instantly without waiting for it to be downloaded. so tvzion uses this.

I don't know the reason of your issues, but a workaround is.. load the links in tvzion first, then go to https://real-debrid.com/downloads on your pc browser. You will see all of the resolved links there. Download what you like. That would be easier and no problem with playback I think.

I was hoping that it would be an XML file that I could edit in a text editor, for example to remove my Club code when I give the prefs file out to someone else. But maybe I don't understand how to use File Observer right, because I have difficulty narrowing-down the file I need from the long list of files modified while I changed a setting in TVZion while File Observer was running. Maybe someone else more technically adept than me could take a crack at it and report back here the filename of the prefs file, to tide us over until the TVZion developer adds a backup menu like Cyberflix and Terrarium clones.

For casting to Chromecast, try using Web Video Cast or BubbleUpnP. A much better casting experience.

I use two casting apps and never having issues watching whatever I want through Chromecast. Web Video Cast and BubbleUpnP. BubbleUpnP pretty much casts everything to Chromecast as there's an option in Settings where it will transcode on the fly to a format that will play through Chromecast.

However, I mainly use Web Video Cast because I find it a little smoother, but it doesn't play everything. With Chromecast, it's not that it doesn't play .mkv files but it doesn't play x265 video or 5.1/7.1 audio encoded files natively. Stick to selecting x264 files with AAC audio and you can play whatever show or movie with Web Video Cast. Otherwise, grab BubbleUpnP which will transcode the x265 or 5.1 files.

I use Universal Copy and have it set to activate when I long-press the app-switcher button - works a treat for most apps that don't allow selecting text.

I use fooView for this. Just point the floating circle at the popup and it extracts all text. You can then copy it to the clipboard, or share it, Google it etc. It's a super handy tool that I use all the time with multiple apps that have limitations like this.

Make sure the bitrate of the file is lower than your download speed and try casting with the app BubbleUpnP and see if you get the same results.

Also, depending on which generation of Chromecast you have, you may also run into Codecs issues as older gens don't handle x265, 1080p60 or 4k well, BubbleUpnP has an option to transcode to Chromecast on the fly in a format it can handle.

TvZion didn't cast subtitles well, but you can usually download and play them separately. I personally use Web Video Cast x264 videos and ocassionally BubbleUpnP for the h265 videos that Chromecast won't play sound for. I've also previously used Localcast as Norman05 stated.

SOLVED!

I can't edit the title or post, so I'll post how here: The issue was that when I installed another app (Analiti), it comes with it's own browser.

At some point, someone in my family must have tried to watch a preview, selected Analiti as the default way to watch previews, and it's been stuck on that since.

The fix here is to clear the preferences for TVZion. I couldn't figure out how to do that other than to uninstall the app and re-install it. Then, when I went to see a preview, YouTube and Analiti showed up as options to view the previews with, and I selected YT and selected "Always", and that's that.

Am using NordVPN currently, set up to autoconnect when using wifi+ethernet. This ensures you will never be disconnected, even on restarting the device. No need to open the app again to check.

RD does allow NordVPN but doesn't allow some other VPN so check on their site for more info on supported VPN.

On my Shield 2019 Pro, I can easily run 50mb 4k RD torrents no problem. Same on my Shield 2015. Both with NordVPN on, I still get 100mb down, 25 up when doing Analiti speedtest. My 2nd Gen Firestick in the same room, running NordVPN shows a maximum of 20mb down. If I turn off VPN, I get 100mb. Guess the Firestick just can't handle the overheads on the wifi card. Maybe a 4k stick works better.

People will say no it's not needed. Assuming it have the secure connection option enabled in RD. I use VPN anyway, I've got 200mb down and still get 100mb using NordVPN, so no issues for me and a little extra peace of mind on my ISP sniffing
