To clarify the title, the game is free to download.
To play the full game, a one-time in-app purchase of $9.99 --> now $4.99 (50% off for two weeks) has to be made!
Super Mario Run is available on Android as well! ~~I don't have the link to that store though.~~ 50 % off on the Android version as well of course! :)
edit: thanks for the link, /u/dragontology!

Highly recommended to get Super Mario Run, and at least try it (it's free to download). Nintendo quality on this mobile Mario game!
Super Mario Run is very polished and fun. No ads or IAP if you pay for the full game. Great replayability.
I enjoyed it a lot and it's sad the bad reception because it was 10$ when it released stopped Nintendo from making more games. I always found it was worth the price and one of the best games on smartphone.

Why not link directly to the Google Play Store page where you can sign up for notification? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nintendo.zara
It's what that site directs you to do anyway — and it'd be less spammy.
Very strange.

The app compatibility for me still pops up with my Pixel and Nexus 7 being compatible. I told it to install on my N7 and it went through fine. "Super Mario Run will be installed on your device soon."
I tried Super Mario Run. It was recommended to me by a friend. It reminds me a bit of the time of the good old Gameboy :) A one-finger control makes playing very easy. In itself, the game was a lot of fun. The first levels are free, then it costs money. To play an online connection is necessary.

Great post. Well formatted. Can't imagine why you're getting downvoted, except for mentioning Android, maybe. I've heard it's not well liked in this sub. People downvoting should see the sidebar, all platforms are welcome. We'll see if this post shares the same fate, for posting the link. ;)
And the article on androidpolice plus the link to the game on the Play store
There was plenty of articles about it, but the best evidence I can give you is the official play store page. They did mention that Android piracy played a part in their decision to delay it for Android, but I think the main reason is Apple payed for a timed exclusive. The internet connection should definitely help fight piracy on Android, even though it sucks that they have to go that far.
Yes because those games are MADE BY NINTENDO, they don't allow other software developers to use their property as you're incorrectly suggesting. They don't even hide it, their name shows as the developer:

App Name: Super Mario Run
Description: A mario game
Playstore Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nintendo.zara&hl=en
Mod Features: Unlock all levels (have the paid version)
Not in a million years, look at Mario Run, it was an extremely good Mario game adapted for touch controls for 10$ (I bought it on release date) game and the Play Store reviews are full of kids wanting it for free.
If it doesn't show up in your play store their is a big chance that it wont be available on your device. You can pre-register in a browser here but if it isn't available for your device you wont get notified.
Pre-register here and you'll get notified when it comes to Andriod. If that's what you're asking. If you're wanting the free game on iOS(assuming it cost money, that I don't know, Andriod user here) not sure.

They are still there for me. What does it say when you reach it through the link?

Edit: maybe it has to do something with Play Store's new device certification thing?
~~Super Mario Run~~ EDIT: Toad Rally exists
Stephen Universe: Attack the Light
Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition
And many more. No F2P, no gacha, no stamina.
Currently it's still available on Android , but idk what happened to iOS.
Super Mario Run just got an update to support wider aspect ratio screens.
