I set up a solution between my Nvidia Shield TV and my GPDXD+ using an application called Autosync for Google Drive. I pointed my various save directories to directories which I created on Google Drive. Then, I configured a two-way sync between them.
So now, I can play a game on my GPDXD, go home, and pick up where I left off seamlessly on my Shield TV and vice-versa.
> First Problem: When plugged in using hdmi, the screen is still on on the handheld.
Have you tried SecondScreen? It's the app I see most commonly recommended for this issue. I only have the original XD, which doesn't have this problem, so I haven't tried it, but from what I hear the SecondScreen app does exactly what you want.

FAQ - Why does my battery not charge past 50%/60%/70%?
This is an odd issue and is one of those problems that the cause has not been found. But there are a few things that may fix this or help.
- Charge the XD with the screen on. ( Oddly enough, this seems to work most times )
- Use a better quality USB Cable
- Charge from a wall charger vs usb. ( make sure and check the specs on charger )
- Install a battery calibrating app. Like: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newagetools.batcalibra&hl=en
Every game has it's quirks, but generally ticking all the speedhacks and running on OpenGL (not Vulkan) using Skip Buffered Rendering gives the best performance without frame skipping - and obviously dropping the resolution to X1 can help. Unfortunately some games require buffered rendering to display though (most of the Rockstar games for example), but some games still perform ok in this mode, it's just trial and error.
PPSSPP runs well on most games on the XD Plus, but generally, if the game runs slow in both buffered and skip buffered modes then it's not going to play on this device. I also seen to remember there being some issue with Ratchet And Clank where you keep falling through the floor, not sure if that's been fixed but worth noting before you get too invested in it (pretty sure you need Buffered Rendering on that game to get the graphics to display properly as well, so you may not be able to play this at a decent speed anyway).

I suggest, specifically, Mupen64Plus FZ, as there are one or two others which were garbage when I last tried them.
Then I would like to make a suggestion. This almost seems like you may have a fake card. If you have a faked sd card that is 200gb and its only 32gb in reality, then you can fill your card to 32gb and use it with no problems usually. Once you pass the true card capacity then you start having problems. If you were to fill it to say 64gb, then 32GB of data will be corrupt and only 32GB (more or less) will remain not corrupted. So what tends to happen is people fill their cards and end up saying: "Some of my games stopped working and are now corrupted, and some play fine".
Look this post over. Should help you figure out if you have legit card: https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Identify-a-Fake-Samsung-Micro-SD-Memory-Car/
pay close attention to the H2TestW portion.
You can also try this app on the xd to test card: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.humanlogic.sdi&hl=en_US
'I dont' care about a 90° angle, nobody ever uses it'. Ok, I used it everytime I used SIM Dashboard while playing ETS2. Please don't speak for everyone. This comment of yours was somewhat offensive.
I would like to clarify my words about build quality: I had no intention to say that all XD+ have worse d-pads neither all XD+ have better hinges. I wanted to say that quality is somewhat the same. It may vary, but in average I suppose it is not perfect. I heard people complaining about original XD's d-pads, but mine is perfect. I just wanted to say, that when you order the console (XD or XD+) you can never be sure about assembly quality.
About HDMI output being shut down when the lid is closed: nope, original XD just turned the internal display off while HDMI output still on.
About RetroArch: ok, if you don't like it - don't use it. I mentioned it just for testing the audio latency. See, A2DP doesn't care which application do you use. So the results would be the same for all other emulators and games (at least they would be no better).
I got my GPDxd back on Jan15th and its already having this issue as well. Like others have stated, charge the device while its on and the screen is on. From what ive found online, you might also want to try this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blogspot.superthomaslab.batterycalibration
It supposedly rewrites the battery file. >This app does it by removing the BATTERYSTATS.BIN file. The OS then generates a new and clean BATTERYSTATS.BIN, so any invalid information (from the previous ROM) is removed. It is suggested, but not needed, to let the phone fully discharge, calibrate and the let your phone charge to 100% without interruption.
I've let my battery fully depleted and recharge to 100% then run the app. My battery still looses a bit of life while in sleep mode though.
There are a few options to satisfy your Diablo-like addiction.
Titan Quest, one of the praised Diablo-clones/successor from 2006 is available on android. And it still looks great considering it's age. (I love the game ;) )
But there are also a lot of android native Diablo-like games. A quick google search results in a lot of results :)
2 questions:
1) Where did you get your SD card?
2) How much did you pay?
If the answer for 1 was "anywhere in China" and the answer to 2 was "less than $20" then I reckon you could have a fake SD card.
Even if that's not the case, it could be your SD card is faulty. I recommend backup what you have, and running h2testw: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/H2testw.shtml#download
It will fill the card with random data, then read it back and verify if the data survived. Any errors could mean a fake/damaged SD card.
This could also be a bug with Happy Chick or the stock ROM but I never used it having gone straight to LegacyROM so I don't know much about the stock apps. However everytime I hear a problem like this is always a fake/faulty SD card.
You can google pros and cons to rooting. This will give you a basic understanding of rooting. Things that differ from normal android devices with root and XD+ are:
Some will say you can brick your device. This is true for XD and XD+ but you have to know that it is pretty easy to recovery from this.
Voiding the warranty: I have yet to hear of GPD refusing to exchange or fix because of root. ( They have refused in many cases but not because of root )
Now why do I root my XD/XD+?
I get better security apps with root. Malware/ Antivirus/ Firewall/ Adblockers.
Use apps to do much more ( I have an app that shuts off screen when I connect HDMI and more apps that add more features)
CPU control. Toggle speeds.
Here is a link to biggest reasons: https://lifehacker.com/top-10-reasons-to-root-your-android-phone-1079161983
But yeh I suggest you read up on it and you will learn a bunch from it. Just Google "why root?" or "Root pros and cons"
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CWLKTRT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I find the above grip works well for me. The holes don't line up of course but it is easy to pull the rubber as needed to plug cables into the device.
You can go higher than 128gb. I use this 400gb micro sd card for my GPD XD Plus.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CWLKTRT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I went with Blue but there are additional options for Red or Black or Pink.
Note that the holes will not be designed for the XD Plus but you can easily pull the rubber aside for access as needed
First thing you do is loosen the hinge, or it will just break again.
Then glue it shut. I have successfully used this adhesive and it is not as noticeable as the other fixes.
Just make sure you dont glue your metal hinge to the plastic case, just in case you want to switch out the plastic case. I would remove the screen part when you glue it and maybe even clamp it a little to close the crack.
Dolphin emulator:

This YouTube video might help, but I haven't watched it:
Late edit: I think I misunderstood the question, so please disregard my response.
Oceanhorn is a pretty good Zelda clone and "just works" with the gamepad. I definitely notice my XD+ getting a bit warm while playing it :)
Haven't tried it on my GPD, but as it's running well on my old Nook Color, it should be a sure bet the GPD can run it: Galaxy on Fire 2 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.fishlabs.gof2hdallandroid2012
It's possible one of the button remapper apps out there can do it. I haven't really used one, but it's worth a try.
Something like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Note that this isn't an endorsement, it's just the first app that came up when I searched Google Play for "button remapper."
I get what you mean. You want to have a unified user experience and hide android as much as possible.
Here's the setup I have. I personally have L3 set for load state and R3 as save state. My "quit" button is long pressing the back button for half a second. You can set it up using a "Button Mapper" like this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.in_so.navigation.buttonmapper
Using this tweak, you can kill any foreground app (whatever app is visible onscreen) by the back, home or volume buttons. The only downside is that you can only set it with conventional buttons phones would have, and not any of the gamepad specific controllers. But you can pretty quickly change your setup from R3 to back.

It seems to mess up wallpapers -- probably because it thinks it's in portrait mode (the landscape orientation is a patch that's part of CleanROM). The solution to setting a wallpaper that looks correct is to use this little app. You can use it to resize the image appropriately as well, but the screen resolution on the XD Plus is 1280x720 so that size will work best. The "Center Wallpaper" option in Lawnchair has to be ON or else you get a weird black edge on the left side of the wallpaper.
I’m thinking start simple, which would presume good hardware until the easy stuff of troubleshooting software is figured out. The premise is to keep eliminating variables.
A few questions come to mind:
• How strong is the signal - is this happening usually in the same area? Walls and such could cause a low/unstable connection if you’re far from the access point. Test: Go within a few feet of, but not right next to, the access point and try then after restarting the XD.
• You could download a WiFi scanner software for Android which will show you all the access points,, channels, etc for where you are. Some things to look for would be overlapping channels within the same frequency, crowded frequency (too many different access points), etc. This is the one I’ve used in the past: WiFi Analyzer
• Has it been a while since the access point was restarted? It’s not a bad idea to restart them every so often. It’s at least worth a shot to keep troubleshooting.
• Is there another access point you could try such as a neighbor or even use your phone as an access point (hotspot)? Would be worth a try, at least.
Let’s see how those pan out...
Isn't it just easier to change the emulator configurations so that A button becomes B and vice versa?
~~You could try buttons remapper, I haven't tried it but I think it does just what you are asking:~~ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
Ok never mind that, I think It's not supported by the GPD XD... I think your best bet is to change the configuration of the SNES emulator so that the buttons are mapped to the correct position. A->B, B->A, X->Y, Y->X.
number 7: SecondScreen Awesome app. It will save you a ton of battery, at least in my experience. I will have to toy with it and maybe use tasker to have it auto turn on when hdmi is connected, or maybe it has that option. I will report back.
Sorry I did not understand your issue correctly. Looks like there are not too many options. If you have rooted phone, you could try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.gktouch
It's couple of dollars but you should be able to test within 2h and then get a refund if it did not work for you.
This seems like an odd issue. Maybe a techy type of guy can give us a breakdown of what is going on.
I did some digging and found these:
"Well I did some digging on the net and one solution was to charge with the screen on. I said why not. It worked and I can charge to 100%.Hopefully the battery just needs to be broken in... I don't want to charge with the screen on to get a full charge every time..."
"You'll have trouble getting it charged from a PC USB 2.0 port. Check your wall charger specs as. You'll want at least 1000mA (1A) rated charger to get it charged properly. Use Batter Calibration to calibrate the battery in Android. Recommend charging it for 6 hours using this app."[Link attached to this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&hl=en .
"Its very well known that a fast charger together with the GPD XD will damage the device. (In particular the Samsung Galaxy S6 Fast Charger) - This also happened to me before I got my replacement. The issue is that the voltage of 9v is sent regardless. (I know that some devices communicate with the chargers in order to pull off the right amount of power) Not with the XD."
Bugger. I had this problem but can't remember exactly how I fixed it.
Uninstall the app, and on the Play Store download SDFix: KitKat Writable MicroSD. Reboot and reinstall your emus.
I think that fixed it for me. I think it's a write issue, so if you move the save folders to the internal memory it should work. If you still can't LOAD roms than I'm not sure what the issue would be.
Google started putting stupid SD card permissions in Android and KitKat had some of the most annoying.
I should add I'm using LegacyROM so the problem could be with the stock ROM itself if that's what you're using.
I'm counting on you, I've searched the internet can't find it. You can copy the app You've installed using X-plore File Manager. TIA.
Screen Flickering = I have no idea.
Burn In/Ghost = https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=appinventor.ai_avaworks00.LCDBurnInWiper&hl=es&gl=US (All Colors, 2 Hours)
You have a fake card is my guess. Did you test the card when you bought it? Where did you buy? When? Do you have any guarantee/warranty on it?
Test your MicroSD Card
Wait for Feb 1 to flash Clean Rom 2.0. It will delete everything off your GPD XD but fix an issue with the processor constantly turning off and on resulting in poor performance. In the meantime, get your ROMs organized on a computer or onto a micro SD card.

If you would like a unified look/frontend. Look into Arc Browser or Dig on the playstore. There's also RetroX but that can only be found on its own site ( http://www.retrox.tv ). As for emulators, You can go the one app, one emulator route. In that case I'd recommend the emulators that end in .emu on the playstore. Or you can go the retroarch route where all emulators use 1 app. Retroarch is superior as its highly customizable but also harder to setup. I'd watch some videos on youtube if you never worked with it before and would like to give it a shot. Just remember that Feb 1 when the new version of CleanRom drops, you'd loose any data on your GPD so its better to wait off until then to set it up.
The only emulators I'd suggest their own app for are DS (Drastic), N64 (Mupen64Plus FZ), PS1 (ePSXe) and PSP (PPSSPP).
The issue with the NDS games is that the GPD doesn't have the 2 screens. You can set it up so it has both screens within the one screen. It's not the greatest but it is playable. It does fine with PSP and Ps1. Doubt it'll be powerful for PS2.
If you're looking for a all in one emulator front device, you could try RetroX. It's $12 but it'll set up your emulators for you for various systems and it's frontend device is nice and clean. It's a good option if you dont want to have to manage every part of setting up your emulators. http://www.retrox.tv/
I think the GPD really shines for platforms like PS1 PSX, Gameboy Advance and GB colour. It's also great for all the 8-16bit era stuff and arcade.
Personally I don't like it for fighting games as the pad feels too small for my hands to do combos or mash special moves. I do love it for RPGs, puzzle games and platformers.
You can also plug it into your TV with a HDMI cable and control with with a wireless controller. So basically it's a mini gaming station for your lounge room TV
First, sorry for the long post. Some background info, I bought a GPDXD used from ebay fully knowing that it was defective as far as the screen goes for $50. It works completely fine besides the screen. The screen has really serious burn-in sort of like this https://tinyurl.com/ya4gjkvr. I ran screen burn-in tool for 45 minutes but no dice. Also the screen is very dark on full brightness and has a darker halo like effect but only on the sides. So has anyone had or heard of this problem and a fix for said problem. I am aware that this problem will probably require replacing the screen but i want to know if there are any other options before doing that. I am in the middle of moving and ordering a replacement screen through aliexpress from china to me in the US seems like it can take sometime since deliveries from China always seem to take close to a month. Sorry for the tangent but does anyone know if there is a US seller for these screens or has anyone had any luck with a phone repairmen fixing this type of problem for them on the GPDXD. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
No it's fine I'm not super techy either so I did the same thing! But yeah then I put Lineage, gapps, and magisk in my sd card so when I went into recovery I was able to easily flash everything from there
ALSO you have to use exactly the magisk version that is included in the Patreon for 17.1 bc I tried the newer one and it didn't work. And the gapps version in using is arm64 / 10.0 / pico
I don't know about 1.13, but about the root you can just patch the newest kernel yourself. Get Magisk Manager here it can patch it for you. https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445/
You can take the files directly from xd inside: Data/media .
Use a file explorer like MixPlorer and copy the files over to card, then to pc.
I found that it gave me hand cramps, but I bought grips for it that solved that and actually made extended playtime very comfortable. This is the grip I bought: Baynne Game Controller Case... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079QZ8MQK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It’s out of stock, but there are other grips for the 3DS XL that will work (you can search this subreddit for others). I did have to use a dremel to cut off two tabs on the back of the grip, but otherwise it fit well.
probably a lot. The rip looks like it just cuts it in half, but the truth is that it rips at the beginning. So it's almost as if you do not have an antenna.
For a replacement look for "MHF4 Antenna WiFi".
an example would be : https://www.amazon.com/HUYUN-Antenna-Cable-Module-Internal/dp/B07DB6ZG3B
I still havent received it,looks like it will arrive tomorrow.

This is the exact SKU that I ordered:
The letters look like they are under a bunch of gloss. I dont think you can get to them unless you go from underneath maybe or you end up shaving several layers. I say you go for vinyl wrap. If you maybe get a hole puncher and some vinyl wrap I bet you you can get a nice pro look.
This is the type of vinyl wrap I use for the top :
https://www.amazon.com/VViViD-Black-Carbon-Release-Technology/dp/B00L9J4JRG
If you want black carbon fiber, or white I have some and can send you a small strip enough for the buttons, just let me know.
You will probably benefit from a USB fan cooler, like this one for example, there are cheaper ones available than that one though (like this), especially on AliExpress you can pick one up for a fiver even, that FlyDigi one is a really decent fan/cooler that is quite and cools nicely.
No need to apologize, happy to help.
OK that's all good news, so here's the settings that I run which get me running THUG2 at 60fps with 2x PSP resolution:
Backend - OpenGL
Mode - Buffered Rendering
Simulate block transfer (On)
Frame skipping (off)
Postprocessing shader (off)
Rendering and display resolution 2x PSP (change this to 1x if you're experiencing slowdown in games)
Render duplicate frames to 60hz (On, again, change if you're getting slowdowns)
The rest of the settings you should mess around with on a per-game basis, some things work better for certain games then others. I've found all games that I've tried to play run smoothly, although i've not tried GoW which I hear is a tough one to run perfectly.
Nice!
I swapped out my dpad with the "Conductive Button Rubber D Pads for Nintendo DS Lite DSL NDSL Controller" from Amazon (link below) and also had to use the ABXY pad.
Definitely made things firmer (great!) but didn't really help with the responsiveness.
I still have a lot of problems where my dpad simply does not register when I move from say down to left unless I completely remove my fingers from the pad each time I change directions.
Does your mod address this?
Just got my GPD XD + and I am probably going to go with the 3DS Amazon Basics case. Price is right and I am sure it would fit...

The plus is definitely worth it, I'm not sure how more powerful it is than the original, but it has a slightly newer processor and better battery. If you get the plus I'd make sure to get the 2019 version that fixes a hinge issue the previous plus model had. It should handle emulation very well for psp, ps1 and all the older consoles. Game cube even has good performance on the gpd xd plus. I'd definitely go with the plus.
Here's one on Amazon for $235: https://www.amazon.com/GPD-Foldable-Handheld-Touchscreen-Hexa-core/dp/B01N9IG6BL
Maybe this will help you. I use it to replace the KeyMap function to "Launch RESET Collection"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=pt_BR
I also tried some X68000 games this morning, using PX68k core under RetroArch.
It runs perfectly fine, including Akumajou Dracula, Chourensha, Star Trader, Geograph Seal, Keeper, for example.
I used .dim images.
Be sure to load the second disk in second drive directly for games with 2 or more disks (in RetroArch disk handling menu).
You need system ROM files here too.
The setup I use is a program called dig you can find it on the Play Store now I also have a theme on mine which is this Nest mini thing if you'd like me to link to the through the theme I can do that all so I can let you know what other software I use if need be but most likely if you go to my videos you should find one that shows my set up it should show what kind of stuff I use
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digdroid.alman.dig
Please do not try a d do this as it is harder then you want it to be just use this from end to take care of all your needs https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digdroid.alman.dig
DIG frontend will get all the data for you automatically so you don't need to do a thing and it will even launch roms using retroarch
Also you can theme this just look at me video https://youtu.be/ZmTJ5Xu9xP0

So... As far as my experience goes Ratchet and Clank has framerate issues with Buffered Rendering but even more issues with Skip Buffered Rendering, so you may have to leave that one.
God of War games will 100% be choppy (they only play well on Snapdragon 800+ devices), but you can get it to run fairly smoothly in Skip Buffered Rendering mode on the XD, but the cut scenes and some backgrounds won't display properly - plus unfortunately you will still get mega slowdown crop up randomly every now and again.
Daxter should play fine if you have the right settings - I'm pretty sure that it needs to be in Buffered Rendering mode to work properly but with the right config it should play fine.
I never got on with any GPD specific setup for PPSSPP, I used this guide and the majority of games work fine (just ignore the options mentioned that aren't actually available in PPSSPP any more, this guide is a bit old):
However, using this guide and then toggling between Buffered and Skip Buffered Rendering to suit the game should give you the results you need for the majority of games. Skip Buffered Rendering plays the quickest, but some games (most EA games and Rockstar games) need Buffered Rendering enabled to display anything. There's also cheats you can add to improve the playability of games, or even switch them to use Skip Buffered Rendering (like the GTA games). You can find them here: ?tid=22787
The only games I could say that are definitely not fully playable on the XD are the GOW games, Resistance Retribution, Killzone, Ratchet and Clank, Star Wars Lethal Alliance and Motorstorm. To be fair, some of those games don't work properly on any Android devices.
I think the flicker is it booting up. I am thinking it is the screen cable.
You can try a mini HDMI to > HDMI cable like this one:

Or a mini HDMI to > HDMI adapter like this one:

If you live in the USA, I also do repairs for GPD devices. I can at least look it over for you.
https://www.amazon.com/Durable-Flexible-Bracket-Compatible-Nintendo-3DS/dp/B00FJ36RZ0 it's this one if someone is interested. But you have to cut down 2 clip in the back since they interfere with the L2/R2 buttons.
Nope, at least not that I can tell. Bought it from an Amazon Reseller.
Came in the box with the USB cable, power brick and handheld itself sealed in plastic.
Seller also threw in a case, headphones and mini HDMI to HDMI cable.

This 400gb one from amazon works great and its only 53$. I use this exact card in my gpd xd+, samsung s8+, pi3b, pi3b+, pi4b, firehd10 and tab s6400gb sdcard
Valid questions.
I am not sure actually. Maybe someone else can explain in detail why GPDXD natively runs Saturns better than XD+. But if i understood it right it's because they use different components. i.e. different drivers and the emulators runs different on different cpu/gpu's. For all i know, with the help of Black Seraph and his cleanrom the xd+ uses the hardware available way better than the original OS do.
Yaba sanshiro. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.uoyabause.uranus&hl=en. is the one i have had best results with.
It does not come with Cleanrom. The thing with both the XD and the XD+ they come with a version of android that the creators of GPD XD have developed. It is however poorly adapted to the hardware and do not really use all the potential from the machine. Apart from that the native os comes with ALOT OF BLOATWARE. Which is bad practise. The cleanrom is basicly the native os. But really well adapted to the hardware, as well as the fact that it does not come with ANY bloatware. i.e. It makes the GPD fast, stronger and more efficient in every way. So no, the GGPD has it's own version of android that works really bad. Cleanrom is better in every way and makes the unit way more compatible with newer apps and emulators.
There's an android port of final fantasy vii available at play store. I never tried, but i guess it would load the menus faster than the psx version.

I'd go with Dig instead. Cheaper, easier to use, and more attractive -- provided you replace the system icons with another icon pack.

I got the 2019 update mid July on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/GPD-Foldable-Handheld-Touchscreen-Hexa-core/dp/B01N9IG6BL
If anything becomes really concerning I could always send it to you, right?
And also, I believe if you found a way to fix the back button issue (assuming it's hardware) you could make a great buck as adding that as an opinion for repairs. Man, it's unbelievably frustrating.

I use that grip. You may have to cut holes in it if you want or just pull back the rubber area when needed to access certain openings but it gets the job done in terms of making the device more comfortable to hold and offering some extra small amount of protection.
You need an OTG ( on-the-go ) cable like these:

https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Adapter-Samsung-Controller-Android/dp/B00N9S9Z0G
I got this one https://www.amazon.com/Baynne-Controller-Plastic-Material-Nintendo/dp/B079QZ8MQK It works great but you'll need to modify/cut a tiny bit of plastic off the grip where the L2 and R2 triggers are.
get yourself a cheap wireless charger. I have one and found it to be a nice spot to rest the xds. When I'm writing tutorials or guides, I just set it down on it and i think it fits snug on it. I even put it sideways when I do things with TWRP and i need it in portrait mode.
You can see the stand in my video here:

This is the model:

Sorry, I was on my commute. But they're on Amazon. Check here. I bought mine from UK Amazon for the extra protection.
You’re definitely in the right place to get some help - and u/dreamesper is spot on about being organized so they the emulators can easily find the ROMs for each system.
I was really frustrated when I first got my XD Plus, and the folks here helped a ton! It’s certainly not a plug-and-play kind of device.
I’m glad to help too where I can.
Also know that not all emulators are created equal, so if one frustrates you with lag, glitches, etc, then try another.
I have had good luck with ePSXe for PS1 emulation.
If other emulators are working fine, it’s def something with that emulator.
On multiple threads, YouTubers, and such I kept hearing about “Super Retro 16” as the best SNES emulator... I’ve been using it from the start, and no issues.
I’d honestly suggest just using a different emulator... SR16 is worth a shot.

Sure. Go here and download scummvm: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm&hl=en
Scummvm allows you to play pc adventure games basically on android, in other words, point and click like monkey island, indiana jones and the fate of atlantis etc.
Then you need to search in google for the grim fandango iso, although there is an android version anyway.
You can also see loads of scummvm games st emuparadise that you can download.
If none of that works, try something like magic dosbox.
Best PSone emulator

Also the gpd XD does not run GameCube well at all. I think the plus does a better job at that. You can always run PSone mgs.
It might be worth trying EQ app or bass booster. I've used this app with lower end Bluetooth speakers and had pretty good results: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=music.bassbooster.equalizer
I believe the one in the video is ARC Browser, a really cool launcher that automatically scans for roms and put it in categories with descriptions and cover art and is compatible with almost any emulator in Android. However if you want something similar for free there is HALauncher, highly customizable and joypad friendly but a little bit more tedious to set it up. Personally I use it both, ARC for games and HALauncher for everything else
Let me double back for more detail; I had removed the Happy Chick apk and use HAL launcher instead. so it wasn't exactly stock image, slightly modified but still using the manufacture ISO
I was running SNES 9x, most games were fine. Super Mario World, Super Castlevania (at times), Donkey Kong 3 were a few that I noticed a stagger. It wasn't unplayable by any means. just hiccups from time to time.
GPD has increased the specs on the latest model too. so it likely wont be an issue moving forward. The GPD XD CPU is rated for 1.8GHz but locked at 1.4GHz on the manufacture ISO. possibly to extend life of the device, who knows.
GPD XD specs:
CPU - Rockchip RK3288 Quad-Core (ARM Cortex-A17)ARM structure. GPU - ARM Mali-T764 600MHz. RAM - DDR3-SDRAM 2GB. ROM - Samsung eMMC PRO 16/32GB,10nm NAND Flash. Wi-Fi - 802.11b/g/n/ac(2.4GHz) Bluetooth - N/A. Operate System - Android 4.4.4.
GPD XD Plus Specs:
1280*720 IPS Capacitive Touch Screen 5 Inch CPU Mediatek MT8176, Up-To 2.1Ghz GPU PowerVR GX6250 RAM DDR3-SDRAM, 4GB Internal Storage eMMC, 32GB Extended storage T-FLASH (Support 128GB max) Wi-Fi Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac - Dual Band [2.4Ghz/5Ghz] Built-In stereo speakers Mini HDMI Port 3 Axis G-sensor Android 7.1.1 Nougat Li-ion battery, 3.7V/6000mAh
As another user stated, the legacy ROM I used cannot be implemented on the new systems.
I don't think there is any internal option within Arc Browser. You can use something like After Unlock though.
Based on this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r09SQMWcgzE ), it's pretty obvious that all they did was install a launcher with large custom ugly icons that launches into the rom frontend called gamesome ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vektor.gamesome&hl=en ) For box art, some systems have 3D boxes, these were downloaded from hyperspin or emumovies. If you google the system of interest and 3D boxart you'll get links to the sets. Depending on where you got your roms from, you may have to rename some of the picture files to match your rom names but it should be very easy to emulate the Maxdroid look if you really want it.
Personally I feel that Arc Browser or RetroX give a much nicer look than Gamesome but everyone has their own preferences.
The charging issue I do not think is hardware, I think its a software issue i think due to the calibration. But yes the old XDs had an issue with using fast charger, you could break it. The new XD+ MAY have PumpExpress 2 capabilities meaning that it will not break when using a fast charger and may actually charge faster. I am still waiting for the testers to report back on that one.
as far as the not charging past 60% here is an FAQ I added to my site:
FAQ - Why does my battery not charge past 50%/60%/70%?
This is an odd issue and is one of those problems that the cause has not been found. But there are a few things that may fix this or help.
. - Charge the XD with the screen on. ( Oddly enough, this seems to work most times )
. - Use a better quality USB Cable
. - Charge from a wall charger vs usb. ( make sure and check the specs on charger )
. - Install a battery calibrating app. Like: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newagetools.batcalibra&hl=en
They are $203 brand new today on Amazon

Here’s the amazon link incase anyone wants it: amazon link
And yes I agree with you the extra 40$ seems worth it to me as well. So far the best options for me seem to be either pacific mall, amazon or from another user on this subreddit who’s selling an unopened one from the US.
I got burned by one of these sellers by not paying attention. Amazon CS was very cool to resolve w/ a refund. I took a photo of the fake, as well as a genuine version and sent it off to them to verify that I had indeed been duped.
This is a fine choice, just make sure the seller is Amazon specifically, not some third party.
I just bought this 400GB SanDisk microsd card for $139.99 from Amazon (looks like it's just gone up in price)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074RNRM2B/
So far it's working great on my GPD XD+. I can now install a ton of PS1 / Gamecube / Dreamcast games onto it :)
You can avoid the slowdown issue by not just buying the cheapest possible SD card (not accusing you, it's just been my experience that that is what most people do, buy the cheapest card in the size they want). There are newer, faster cards that are specifically designed for running apps off of...the newest ones are listed as "A1", but there are sufficiently fast cards before that standard was complete. I have a Samsung card that gets 60MB/s write speed (real world, not benchmark) in my phone, significantly faster than the internal eMMC storage will write.
200GB and 256GB cards work in the XD - I use this one in my black 32GB unit without issue. It does take a bit longer to boot up with all the data I have on it (full ROMsets, scads of ISOs, a few Android games) but it does work well.
Mobizen : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rsupport.mvagent&hl=en
Make sure when you install to change a few things like resolution(720p) and enable Clean Mode ( no watermark ).
Its a very cool app.
Ok so i think you got confused somewhere.
Get Rom ToolBox or Titanium Backup
Freeze System Update - DO NOT Freeze SuperSU
Get ES File Explorer Free OR PRO
Then when you download an apk you can find it using es file explorer and install it. You downloaded the apk but you never installed it.
I would say also install chrome. When you download an apk file it asks you if you want to install it right away. So maybe that is better for you too. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.chrome
I haven't used it personally but apparently Tincore Keymapper is a pretty powerful mapper that may allow you to do what you are trying.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tincore.and.keymapper
You can use a file manager like Solid Explorer - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer2&hl=en
to manipulate and copy files or folders any way you want, including over your network from a PC.
The only way to technically play it would be to use something like Moonlight to stream it wirelessly from an enabled PC.
Gamecube/PS2 emulation is impossible for the XD (extremely low FPS, GPU doesn't support the needed functions).
There's Japanese Android version on their store which could work but I couldn't tell you for sure: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jjp.co.capcom.android.googleplay.bio4&hl=en
I used Autosync OneDrive and it worked like charm. Also available for Google Drive and Dropbox. Even has the option to exclude file patterns so only the sav is synced and not the game
