Easiest may be mame4droid https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seleuco.mame4droid&hl=es
Just point the emu to the rom folder, and be sure that the game is form the corrrect romset ( 0139u1 ).

> it isn't going to create goodwill ... treating them like a slave
I'm not really sure how rational this is. Using software in accordance with its expressed license == slavery? I'm not asking for goodwill. Hell, I'm not asking for anything. If you'll notice, I'm just responding to attacks in a pile-on thread.
Una rapida ricerca sul web mi ha portato a quest'app, che sembra essere quello che cerchi. Considerando l'età del gioco, anche una versione non troppo potente non dovrebbe aver problemi a farlo girare :)
So should I grab this one or this one?
Edit - tried both. Can't get either of them to work with external storage, and aFBA won't even see my external. Also, despite adding ROMs and BIOSes, it's not recognizing them. It did briefly recognize Street Fighter 3, but wouldn't run it, and on relaunch it wouldn't see it anymore. Yikes...
As someone who's not really a fan of Retroarch, heres my recommended emulator:

I've played through both X-Men and Simpsons on it (among others). Works great!
You could go back to the 70's & 80's and try the original endless games - Pac-Man/Space Invaders/Defender/Dig Dug/Centipede etc.

I use this version of Mame4Droid (free from play store) and it seems to run the majority of ROMs I have thrown at it. Plus the dev continuously updates the app:

I believe Shadow Force was added to MAME version 0.60 on May 1st 2002.
So you could try to install the version of MAME4droid that supports MAME version 0.139u1. Shadow Force is included in that romset as shadfrce.zip. (The roms don't come with the app because distributing them is illegal).
You would have to search the internet for the romset for MAME 0.139u1 from August 11 2010.
You will want to avoid the older MAME4droid that supports MAME 0.37b5 from 2001 because that set does not include Shadow Force.

There are guides on Youtube for installing and using the app on your Android Phone.
Surprisingly, you can actually play TGM and TAP using MAME4droid (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seleuco.mame4droid). It works pretty well but TAP does run at the incorrect framerate.
Late reply, but I just wanted to say that I had the same issues as well (aspect ratio, unreadable menus). You might have better luck with MAME4droid.
For some reason the files from emupara aren't coming down zipped, i had this problem before so i uninstalled winrar and put 7-zip on and still they aren't zipped up. I dl the files, highlight them all them archive them in winarr to make a rar file then send them over via teamviewer.
Heres the link to the mame i'm using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seleuco.mame4droid&hl=en_GB
KODI - Use this build
Just about everything that works with a controller works on Shield TV, so you can install things like Mame4Droid just by going to Play Store on your computer and clicking install > Shield TV.
Just lost a detailed walkthrough.
Will do later.
Works on

No problem at all. It connects via bluetooth like any other controller.

The only thing is that the iCade uses keyboard stroke data instead of a normal joypad data, but the Mame4Droid app and the .emu apps have the iCade control setting in their control settings. So, just set the settings within the apps to Icade and your done. Works perfectly. Once you pair it once, it auto connects after that.

Here a youtube video on a guy connecting his Android tablet to the iCade and then selecting iCade as the controller with the Mame4Droid app.

Heres the link to the apps i used for all of my 80's and 90's consoles. These all have the iCade controller settings:

Here is the Mame4Droid app which also has the iCade controller settings:

It needs the 0.139u1 rom set to function
Try MAME4droid, retroarch is a mess visually.

Yeah!! The aspect ratio works out great. Mame4droid https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seleuco.mame4droid
Edit: Also Miner2049er on an Atari 800 emulator.
The MAME version works great on my Note 3 and my Shield Tablet
