I just got these black and white ones off Amazon. They are a step up from the colored ones. They feel premium.

Button Mapper on google play store
install on shield, open, go to add button, do the click to add thing, customize, media, select mute.
edit: after install, enable accessibility access for button remapper in system settings.
My answers are in Bold.
Hope it's oke to ask here?
it's fine
So I was wondering about a few things. first isn't the current shield getting a bit old ?
No, the shield is pretty much the most powerful android device right now
Should I be waiting for an updated version, what are the rumor's?
I doubt it, I haven't heard anything
Can you use an VPN with a shield and use it while streaming content from apps from out side of Europe?
Yeah, you can use a VPN
I know Netflix probably won't fall for it but others like Nick junior might?
I use PrivateVPN and Netflix "falls" for it
Any Dutch people here? Does the NPO app work well on it?
can't answer this
So as far as I can tell it's possible to install APK,s through Chrome?
You can easily sideload APKs, whether they will work is another matter. It is Android TV, not Android. So while a lot of apps will work, some will refuse to work and others will just not open or crash. You basically just have to guess and check
Where do get started with emulators and finding ROMs?
as for emulators, check out RetroArch, Google for RetroArch setup on Shield, and check out r/RetroArch
Be very careful when asking about ROMs, as it can be considered piracy. Use your common knowledge and Google.
It can do all of these I believe.
• I think Kodi should be able to connect to your seed box server, but somebody here may have more knowledge if that definitely works.
• If NordVPN doesn’t have its own android app you could always manually configure it through the OpenVPN app.
• I currently use express VPN (has its own app but I use through Open VPN) to watch geo restricted stuff, even works on Netflix
• And for IPTV I believe it’s possible through Kodi, but again it’s something I’ve never had the need to use but have heard people talk of so another user might be able to confirm 100%.
My go to apps are Plex, Youtube, Netflix, and PuffinTV browser. I use the Puffin browser to stream Basketball and UFC through the r/nbastreams ans r/MMAStreams. Plex is for viewing my massive(and ever growing) library. Youtube and Netflix are self explanatory. Between those four, I have all my viewing needs covered.
Oh and IPVanish so I can be an online ninja.
It should work as a Bluetooth device. The Switch Pro controller works on PC and natively via Steam. I'd recommend using an 8Bitdo adapter with a controller as the internal bluetooth is pretty bad for controllers in the Shield.

Not sure if it's the only place, but you can find the games you named in the Nvidia Games app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nvidia.tegrazone3
Should be preinstalled, as it was on my Shield Pro 2019.
There's a good enough app on the app store for your phone.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.tv.remote
https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/android-tv/id1078761166?mt=8
Works fine for Android phones, my wife sometimes has problems on her iphone
I use AirPin Pro and it works for me.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.waxrain.airplaydmr2
Sideload the OpenVPN apk (not to be confused with OpenVPN Connect) and use whatever VPN provider you want. TorGuard, PrivateInternetAccess, etc.
The reason I recommend the OpenVPN app is that unlike all the other Android clients I've tried, this one actually allows you to access the local network while VPN'ed, useful for GameStream and streaming local videos.
*edit: a word
No, I gave up easily because that functionality wasn't that important to me. I did notice that scrcpy successfully solves the problem but they seem to do it by using an undocumented API.
I opted for RetroX. It’s a paid curated front end that auto downloads emulators. I found I was spending more time getting things working than playing games. Plus it syncs saves via cloud so I can continue on my phone. No r9ms are included. Saturn and Dreamcast are near perfect.
Have you tried Dashboard? (Only available in the TV version of Google Play Store )
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samabox.dashboard
It's a replacement for the apps menu that supports sideloaded apps and more. Combine it with a key Mapper and you can remap the apps button to display Dashboard instead of original apps menu.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.furnaghan.android.photoscreensaver
It’s awesome. You can have it integrate google drive photos, and photos on local and network storage, and there are a ton of customization options
This will get ya by.
BESTEK 300W Power Inverter DC 12V to 110V AC Car Inverter with 4.2A Dual USB Car Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004MDXS0U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_EDJ71404VGNQA3XGPHPW
I personally prefer to hard line to the battery but this will do what you want.
I bought a Rii Mx6 Remote on Amazon a few months ago. The price has even come down since then. It's only $17 now.
I've tried a few other remotes on the shield including the amazon fire remote. This is is by far the most functional one I've come across. A full backlit keyboard on the back, air mouse function, voice search capability, good rubberized buttons.
If you don't need the enclosure, I use this on 3 shields with zero problem. Just stick any SSD onto the cable.
I would say this thumb drive from Samsung (128gb, USB 3.1, 300mb/s read, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D7PDLXC/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_rSBuEbVZDEKFB).
EDIT: I have the reg shield tv, so not sure if it works totally, but Amazon is great w returns and they'll refund it in full if it doesn't work I'm sure.
EDIT 2: Found an article that shows good USB / HD devices for the shield, they list a SanDisk one that's $40 that is Nvidia recommended. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.androidcentral.com/best-external-drives-nvidia-shield-tv%3famp
You can also play steam games through Steam Link, but it has to be local network, and both devices should ideally be on wired connection.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.valvesoftware.steamlink&hl=en
Steam Link only requires a local Steam host machine logged into the same account.
I've found ARC Browser (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.floatingpoint.android.arcturus) to be a fantastic app for displaying and launching your emulator games. The price is steep compared to most Android apps, but it does its job extremely well. You can launch ROMs using either Retroarch or standalone emulators.
You can install Chrome via the website for the Play Store. Go here on a computer.
If you have the gamepad, the right control stick can be used in lieu of a mouse.
That said, the Chrome app does not have a tile for Android TV, so you won't be able to access via the launcher. You'll have to find a workaround to launch it (either using the voice assistant, cloning the apk to create a tile, etc.) but I recommend just using the Puffin TV browser instead. It works with the remote.
Well, there are several sources saying that it works with an AirPlay receiver app on Shield. For example https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.splashtop.m360 My question was only about the quality and limits of such connection.
The official Nvidia remote app sucks, been tried and used it since it was beta, they haven't fixed it or made it better. I use Remote Android TV by Innovation Lab instead as it works and has way more options: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.bouyguestelecom.remote
You can install the Chrome app via a web browser. You'll need to launch the app using a voice command though, since there's no leanback tile to click on. Just get to the homescreen and hit the mic button with the command "open Chrome". Then you'll need to use the Shield controller to use the right control stick as a mouse. I would go to fast.com since it's quicker to type using the controller, but you could also try speedtest.net as well just to have another data point.
Install this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer&hl=en and look at what other networks are using your wifi channel. Even the wifi direct networks (they say Direct-android-xx or similar) will cause interference. My amazon fire stick was creating a network on the same 5ghz channel that it was connected to my router on. Cause shitty lag. Dumped the fire stick on 2.4 ghz and the wifi direct channel followed it. Now My 5ghz network is clean and fast.
After you install Vue Mobile from play.google.com to your Shield TV. Directly from your play store on the Shield TV, you search (I used voice search) for Side Load Launcher, it was the first app from Chainfire. (Link Here)
I sideloaded the OpenVPN app and use the .ovpn profiles that I got from my provider, enabling the options to launch at startup and use the "seamless tunnel" as a killswitch. My VPN isn't free, but for $30/yr on sale right now they're easily worth it.
I just got my nVidia shield tablet today. Started up SWBF no problem. Hooked it up to my TV and SWBF crashes every time. WTF, I'll continue to research this and let you know if I find anything.
Edit: I tried installing Moonlight: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.limelight - very easy to setup.
I had success with it so far however I felt the game didn't play too well. Also once I change the settings from 720 to 1080 the game will then again crash when I try to stream it. I'm wondering if resolution happens to be a factor here...
That would be amazing and much appreciated! I haven't been able to find anyone locally with an M7 or M8.
You can download AnyMote here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remotefairy4
When you start the app, open the app drawer and go to + and Record Your Own Remote. I think there may also be a way to manually export this remote so that I can import it manually, though I'm not sure. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I've been corresponding with their support on this.
Thanks!
Were you connected to a UK IP with NordVPN? As that's when I saw the iPlayer/ITV apps in the play store.
The ITV app keeps crashing at the moment though, there's another thread about it here. I had to watch ITV though a laptop connected to the TV via HDMI
Works fine when I do that. Also means I can no longer use the German TV apps I have installed
NordVPN is working great for both. I tried Proton for its privacy features but it seemed to throttle soon as I started streaming video
Also - no need to look for apks, if you're connected with VPN the play store will show the apps of the country you're connected to. (this is presuming you've logged into the Shield with a google account)
Honestly based on my experience, you would be much better off using Hulu on a Fire Stick, Roku or Apple TV. When I watch Hulu on any of those 3 devices the experience is fine, but on the Shield (which uses an Android TV specific version of the app) it is a major crap shoot if things go smoothly. Hulu on Android TV is a buggy hot mess and always has been. It has a 1.7 star rating on the US Android TV Play Store versus a 4+ star rating on regular Android mobile. I'm not sure if they just don't have very good Android TV developers, or if they only prioritize the platforms with higher user base numbers. And they aren't rolling out any new features on Android TV boxes either; it is almost 2023 and Hulu on the Shield still does not even support 4K or HDR. These features are available on Fire Stick, Roku, ATV and Chromecast Ultra and have been for a while.
I recommend the g20 remote. You can use button remapper to map a stop button for Kodi. I use long press of the play button.
You can get 90 degree TOSlink cables/converters, that might help you get it in that space.
Why don't you install a VPN on the Shield
Yes, sorry should have included that.

Not sure how to figure this out or above answered these.
I have an update:
So I bought this dongle:
TP-Link Nano USB Bluetooth 5.0... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09C25VRXD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And installed the drivers for it on my pc, then plugged it into my Nvidia shield
VirtualHere detects it and I connect the controller's via Bluetooth to my PC from downstairs
However... The input lag is horrendous. It sometimes queues up all of the button inputs for a few seconds then outputs them all. Gyro works, but it's also unusable.
I've tried uninstalling the drivers, but it's still very very slow. I have a direct line of sight to the dongle, sitting 1.5m away and it's still struggling.
I was expecting really good response times and little to no input lag... But this is really bad.
I tried both DS4 and my DS5 controller. In isolation, and together connected to the same dongle. The input lag and the lag spikes are very bad. I checked moonlight and it doesn't lag at all.
I'm using Steam big picture with Playstation Configuration Support enabled and that's pretty much it.
Any ideas on how to fix this so I get usable input lag? Did I purchase the wrong dongle? Thanks!
As far as I know, it's not possible directly from the OS, which is a shame as more and more TV are doing customised "art frame".
The app I bought is this one : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.furnaghan.android.photoscreensaver&hl=en_US&gl=US
Not so convenient to use but it does show the picture you want to display
Try this combo:
Nova video player: Its like Kodi but very bare bones.
Just player as the playback handler - again very stripped down player that can handle DV.
Both together work so well and faster than any combo ive tried. These are my fallbacks when Plex decides to take a break trying to play a high bitrate video. YMMV.
In Plex Media Server (for Shield Pro) you need to enable DLNA in the options, iirc its not enabled by default anymore. And Plex isnt really made for that one purpose, it would be overkill to use it just for that. And you need to configure it first too.
If you have installed the Plex client app, not the server, then there is no DLNA server in that anyway.
Found this on the playstore, try it maybe: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.al.dlnaserver
Do you have an android? If so install something that can backup apps. I use X-plore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lonelycatgames.Xplore&hl=en&gl=US
Then it's as simple as getting that APK over to the shield. Note that I've never used mcafee on anything but a computer so I just want to inform you that the chances are that it wont work because of android tv vs regular android differences.
I do that with my C1. The RefreshRate app has that remapping functionality. Just ignore the refresh rate changing settings in there and use the remapping part. There is a row of colored buttons on the bottom of the c1 remote that can be remapped. Not sure what the CX controller is but I imagine its similar. I think its this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.bytearray.refreshrate&hl=en_US&gl=US
The new Shield controller is fantastic and will work on any Shield TV. Or if you don't want to spend as much, this works fantastically as well. It plugs into the USB port so it's very stable and doesn't use bluetooth.
Netflix is cracking down on VPN's due to their abysmal financial performance of the last year, and Nord has always been shit. It's not the update, it's Netflix.
I'm using Astrill and it still works like a charm.
For me I have up with hdmi-cec and the shield. Way too much weird shit happening and not working across all of my connected devices when my Shield was connected. In the end I got one of these and accept that I have to manually select my shield using my AV.
LINDY HDMI CEC Less Adapter,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DL48KVI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
With this device in place everything else beahves as it should.
I'm not sure which remote you are referencing but my remote works flawlessly with the shieldtv It's this remote. Samsung Remote
Yes it's very simple even if there are some manipulations to do on the computer. check this video to understand how the app works ( https://youtu.be/gyZsdHcCTT4 ). I also use an app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.chromeremotedesktop ) to control my pc remotely to be able to turn it off
I used my charging cable from Samsung s20/s21 with one of these adaptors...
I assume you are referring to this Mountain West Conference TV app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=digital.wmt.mobile.androidtv.themw
If you have Android mobile and logged in to same Google account as on your Shield TV then you can install it from your mobile playstore.
Refer: https://i.imgur.com/FZGXNxw.png
I've got one of these.
Turtle Beach - Ear Force PlayStation 4 Upgrade Kit for Turtle Beach Headset Compatibility - PS4 (Discontinued by Manufacturer) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JC5Y9LK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_568C90CXZY4RQGXHDP3C?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks. That's very helpful. /u/cocktailschirmchen said something similar. I searched the Owner's Thread for the Sony X900H in avsforum.com and found quite a bit of discussion about this. The consensus is that it's a problem with 60Hz Dolby Vision over HDMI and that if you can match framerates with the content, you can fix the issue. I don't see any setting for the Shield that forces framerate matching but maybe I'm missing it? It looks like Apple TV has this setting and that has helped those owners. If a Shield setting doesn't pan out I'm going to experiment with this Refresh Rate app from the Play Store.
There's a game called does not commute https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mediocre.commute which is not your traditional car game it's a 2d car game I ended up purchasing because my 5yo loved it.
I managed to get it working by simply downloading it through aurora store, the game does not crash, but it does not accept any input from the controller, shield remote app or a mouse. They basically disabled any kind of input other than touch for the menus, so the game is unplayable on Shield atm...
The work around is to add the games to steam manually and then add steam to geforce.
I would assume you told geforce to "scan now" and the games are installed in the scan location?
Also, check the compatibility list. Some games will not show up ever, hence the workaround.
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/geforce-experience/games/
Trakt is a content tracker and recommendations service for Movies & TV. People use Trakt to keep lists of things (Movies and TV) they own, they want to watch or that they've watched. From there they can get recommendations for similar things or get notifications when things like "the next episode of ______ is out/scheduled".
Syncler, Weyd, and a few others are Trakt clients. If you're familiar with last.fm, you can think of Trakt kinda like last.fm for movies/tv. For me, it's most handy for know when my favorite shows are coming on (eg. no Simpsons this Sunday, but they're back the following Sunday), and also handy to keep track of where you left off on older shows you might be catching up on.
Here's my Trakt summary from this year to give you an idea of what it's used to track - https://trakt.tv/users/techuck_/year/2021
2 things:
1.) When I first did it I was using a 2017 Shield so maybe it's changed. Thinking back I think I've heard of people using 256GB drives on the 2019.
2.) I tried it with a 4TB WD My Passport. IIRC It would show that the 4TB exists, just like it did on the video, but if you took the drive out and put it on a computer it only had the 128GB partitioned off for use by the shield. This was back in 2018. After this happened I did a lot of searching on the web and found some article that confirmed it, but I didn't save it.

Either way, like I said, I've still got 110GB available and that's with a bunch of apps and Plex Server metadata for 40TB worth of media.
The thing is since it's working as internal storage you want to use a SSD for speed. I use this.
Sounds like the way to get it to work is to have the most up to date version of it, yes. I happened to already have the most up to date version of it before applying the 9.0.0 upgrade and haven't had any issue with it and it seems to be resolving for others after sideloading the latest version, so it sounds like since the upgrade there may be an issue with it's updates funneling down through the Play Store properly (Disney+ app is also cited as currently having this issue, as are a few others I can't recall at the moment). The only way to install these few apps if they aren't installed, or upgrade them to a newer version if they are installed already, is then to sideload the APK.
If your concern is more specifically about getting the app APK from a separate site though, you don't have to do it that way, it's just easier. You can also use APK Downloader (in this case the Chrome extension version of it on PC, since the Android TV app won't do you much good on the Shield if you can't see the most up to date version of Nvidia Games in the play store on it anyway) and pull the APK directly from the Android TV play store in your browser and then push that to the Shield, if that makes you more comfortable: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nvidia.tegrazone3
Hope this helps you!

Weird they must have taken it down. I'd just sideload it then. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/felker-tech/tv-app-repo-android-tv/tv-app-repo-android-tv-1-1-4-playstore-release/tv-app-repo-android-tv-1-1-4-playstore-android-apk-download/
Fully intrenched in the Apple ecosystem but I picked one of these up a few years ago. Here are a few things.
Pros: Runs Android so you can pretty much do whatever you want. Games. 4K streaming. Great Kodi box.
Cons: UI sucks. Responsiveness is rage inducing. Apps crash. Compared to my AppleTV I want to blow toss it into a microwave and watch it suffer.
All in all, to each their own. I recommend the Shield if you can look pass the UI stuff.
As for Apple Music, since it runs android, you can just download any APK you want. Search “App Name” + APK.
Enjoy!
Here are different versions, maybe the one you're lookking for too
I've tried it and it does pair but has really bad latency issues. The remote from the new shield is a pretty good replacement -- we replaced the remotes to our 2017 shields and they work well.

Deleted log folders is rarely a problem.
Step 1) Delete those log folders. I don't think there is a downside to this.
Step 2) Turn off that feature I mentioned.
Step 3) Look into a faster SD card.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FCMKK5X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I have bought several of those cards. 128 gigs is nice and big and they are fast.
But an SD card will never be as fast as a hard drive. I assume you are the non-pro Shield - this will forever be a burden.
If you are truly frustrated - just delete the Plex install and rebuild.
I use the Shield Pro version so our setups diverge a bit.
I got mine with gamestream enabled for pc gaming streamed directly to my TV. Retroarch, mupen64plus fz and some others emulators for retro gaming. ExpressVPN has always been my go to vpn for NVIDIA. My Geforce now account is connected to steam, ubisoft and epic for cloud gaming. And sideloaded some apps like Xbox gamepass and others of my preference. But at the end, it all comes down to what you want to do with it. So there's a lot you can do with it.
Haven't had any issues with two 2017 Shield Pro's talking through Torguard VPN. Have tried both locally installed client and (preferred) through firewall Torguard VPN connection (specific clients & specific apps). These tests were conducted before trapping all DNS requests at firewall and directing them through Pi-Hole.
Hey I just got my shield today and just finished successfully doing this, except my HDD is plugged directly into the shield pro. My steps:
Step 1) Update Plex AND Plex media server on shield to newest versions. They are separate.
Had to search play store for "plex media server" to update it.
Step 2) Backup everything just in case
Step 3) Migrate Plex Media Server to HDD
Step 4) Shut off Plex Media Server, remove HDD from shield
Step 5) Plug HDD into Windows, navigate to the newly created plex media server folder in the android folder. Backup metadata and database folders again just in case.
Step 6) Replace with Metadata from original server.
Step 7) Go to Database folder and DELETE EVERYTHING then move the 2 dated database files from original server to the folder, then remove the dates from the filename.
Step 8) Restart Server
After this I had to login through the webui on plex.tv and remap the libraries from their previous windows paths, then everything was good to go. You may not have to do that using NAS. As for me, now I'm trying to figure out how to map the HDD as a network drive in windows without reactivating SMB1. Good luck!
Oh ok thabks, I have my Zyf 10 remote connected to it and it works perfectly. Why is that?

As for emulators, I see RetroX mentioned a lot. It isn’t free but I remember 3-4 years ago that some of the best emulators on the Shield were not free.
RetroX has a free trial.
I'm using Retro X . It's so easy to use and set up and can handle a large library of roms across multiple platforms . It's a similar price to Arc browser but I'd imagine you'd get better use of it . http://www.retrox.tv
All the games you own, if the developer allows it, for GeForceNow (streaming from Nvidia servers). List here:https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/supported-games/
For Steam Link, it should be all the games you own. You just downlaod the steam link app to your Shield TV. More info here: https://store.steampowered.com/steamlink/about/
My suggestion is to test Nvidia Share when you get the Shield and see if it will work. I personally have had no luck getting my PC to connect to my Shield via network sadly. Others however seem to be able to do this without issue. If you can get it to work, then the external drive setup would work for you.
I use a homemade NAS using UnRaid as the OS. I know many have created a NAS using a Raspberry Pi, but I am not one of them. I know it's possible, but can't recommend anything about since I haven't personally done it. I have read it is a very good cheap alternative to a prebuilt NAS.
Quick google search gave me this. Hope it helps and enjoy the Shield, it's awesome!
https://www.ionos.com/digitalguide/server/configuration/raspberry-pi-nas/
Apkmirror has this item. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/att-services-inc/directv-now/ You can download using SE and install on the system. It's will do the job. Until they, dtv, releases an android tv app this is the only way.
I can not offer a response based on experience. My PC gaming is usually a solo experience. I've tried streaming games from my PC to Shield but I've gotten mixed results. I've blamed it on my network, having dual screens on my PC, how I am streaming (Steam vs Nvidia Geforce Experience). It "works", but not as well as I think it should.
I've had some luck using the Geforce Now streaming service (I think they call it that still). But, I think they are evolving that service and I haven't kept up.

Here's a list of Split Screen PC games that I found with some googling. It seemed like a decent list if you look at the full list.
https://www.slant.co/topics/2113/~best-split-screen-pc-games
Look up Hyperspin, I have a setup on my system and it's easily the best emulator experience:
To clarify, it's not an emulator per se, it's a frontend for your emulator (typically Retro Arch) that makes browsing for your games across multiple systems much better.
Put your zip-code in here and it will show you what channels you will get from their service.
Hey everyone! We just wanted to let you know that we've pushed out new apps for Channels that are free when you're a Channels DVR subscriber. We know it was hard to try out Channels DVR when you had to pay for the app first, so hopefully this makes it easier to check it out.
The new free apps are called Channels DVR. You can learn more about it at the posted link and more about Channels DVR here - https://getchannels.com/dvr
Thanks!
I ended up getting a Shield and then subscribe to https://shadow.tech/ for my son. It gives us a full fledged PC in the cloud, which allows him to play PC games (w/ controller our keyboard/mouse) on the Shield. Works great.
Thanks for the pricing info. Yes, too expensive; besides GeForce NOW, the aforementioned Shadow is $13/month with a one-year commitment, and gives users a full fledged Windows 10 PC. I have not used it but people seem to really like it.
I have heard that Valve is adding streaming-related functionality, but in the context of working with other providers as opposed to providing a separate service of its own. The consensus is that EA is going to launch its own streaming service this year, though.
Love the idea of it - and used beta for last 2 weeks.
Apart from 2 reboots (never happened on my 2017 STV prior) - service has been rock solid.
Would be great in time to have more selling services included.
My GoG.com game archive is 75+ games - wish they would be added.
Bought this one, Very satisfied.
Moonlight is an app that does game streaming. What's to know?
I concur. 250Mbps should be plenty. Must be settings.

Sideload Launcher displays all installed apps & went EOL in 2015, Launcher only displays those Apps/Games lacking a AndroidTV banner & is still being actively developed.
You could try this and boost the lowest setting to about where it's comfortable possibly. Be careful this will boost the volume very loud.

I bought two of these, but in hindsight I’d have bought one of these and one of the Shield official controllers.
Wait, do normal widgets actually work now? Last time I checked, the widget service wasn't present in Android TV. I could install apps that provide widgets and apps that can show widgets, but still, they didn't work. (I wanted to try if I could show widgets in the screensaver of my Nvidia shield using my own app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.jolanrensen.widgetscreensaver)
Have you looked into this as a potential workaround?

>It blocks the CEC signal (pin 13 & 17) to the device connected to the HDMI cable where the adapter is installed. It's very useful when there are more than two HDMI CEC enable devices connected to a smart TV (e.g. soundbar and cable box), under certain circumstances these devices would interfere each other making impossible to control them through the TV remote controler.
I have ExpressVPN and in the settings I can set it to start on boot. There is also an option called VPN tunneling. In there I can set the VPN to either only run for certain apps or set a list of apps to ignore. I chose the ignore option and added the apps I didn’t need the VPN for. Now it opens the VPN when I boot and everything goes over the VPN bar the few apps I want to keep the German content for. Works great.
Use AppBrain to figure out which app is serving said ads & delete it.
Obviously, you'll have to sideload it on the Shield.
