We really should stop recommending this app. Every time I see it, a comment follows that goes something like this: "It continuously plays a very quiet sound through the media volume channel. blah blah battery drain. here's something better https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper "
Someone on /r/Android suggested an app called Buttons remapper as an alternative. You can set up actions for the different buttons on your device, including forcing the volume keys to control media volume. I've been using it for months with no issues.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
ButtonsRemapper. Although it isn't perfect, doesn't allow for a long press to speed increase/decrease volume.
Be careful if you go looking for similar apps, most other apps of this type play a constant quiet sound through your speaker in order to achieve media volume only control
That can be solved with nonroot software.
On the other hand, i love 3rd party notification support on my always on display, it's a gamechanger for me.
Hi guys,
I recently had an issue with my TWS i200 where the sensors were too reactive (Android btw). I finally fixed it by installing this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Use the MEDIA_PAUSE button and map it towards "do nothing".
Buttons Remapper should work.
I used to use it to do the opposite before they FINALLY made the logical decision in Pie :p
If you use Android you can use a button remapper like this to solve the problem. I've used it for a while now and love it.
are you rooted ? 2 step solution-path: 1. intercept/detect keypress (and replace normal behaviour of Vol-keys-which is for what you might need to be rooted)
Apps for 1: Buttons remapper https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper / AutoInput (Tasker-Plugin) /https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blor.quickclickgold
For 2.: AutoInput (Tasker-Plugin)
Wow, that's a really neat idea! I have a app for remapping hardware keys (no root), but it doesn't support forced orientation, it does however support shortcuts. Maybe could be hooked up to Automate?
Button Remapper: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
It's possible one of the button remapper apps out there can do it. I haven't really used one, but it's worth a try.
Something like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Note that this isn't an endorsement, it's just the first app that came up when I searched Google Play for "button remapper."
Isn't it just easier to change the emulator configurations so that A button becomes B and vice versa?
~~You could try buttons remapper, I haven't tried it but I think it does just what you are asking:~~ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
Ok never mind that, I think It's not supported by the GPD XD... I think your best bet is to change the configuration of the SNES emulator so that the buttons are mapped to the correct position. A->B, B->A, X->Y, Y->X.
> The daydream controller is a Bluetooth controller with a custom interface. Why doesn't it work as a standard Bluetooth controller? It would be great if it doubled ad a presentation remote. Did Google block it because they wanted to sell more presentation remotes?
Yeah, why doesn't it? I would love if it did and Google not supporting it is something I do not condone (see what I did there? I went against my Shill master, hope they still pay me)
> There is no way that xda can know why the interface broke compatibility. That is guessing at a hostile intention.
> Even the volume keys on Android are custom interfaces. If you remap them they break and no longer work right. Did AOSP lock the volume keys down too because everyone's a dick for doing anything?
Also, we really oughta merge all those threads again, this is getting really confusing
Just to make sure this is the app you're referring to? I'm familiar with another app by a similar name when I was still using my Relay 4G.
I use this Button Remaper I use the down track button on the steering wheel to call up Google. It should wake the phone up
I may have found something you can reassign the buttons with.
I've not have any experience with this but I found something called Button Remaper on the play store and it doesn't seem like it needs root.
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
If you need any help, here is a video on how to work the application (may be outdated): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wq2gcOdgULA
I recommend Buttons Remapper, it can change any key press to an action. I use it to change the volume keys to change media volume. It's a life changer. No root required.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
> 3) Button Remapper - allows you to assign different functions to your phones physical/soft buttons. So if I hold down my back button, it will return to the last app.
I had the same experience with my Pixel 6 (and now Pixel 7 Pro), sans case. With a case, though, the clamp can be positioned such that the volume-up button is barely visible. The volume-down button is not accessible, but I've got it positioned so there's barely enough of the volup button visible that I can activate it with my thumbnail. I then use onscreen volume control.
If that doesn't work, there are button remapping/disabling apps available. YMMV
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en&pli=1
I'm using Buttons Remapper: Map & Combo, but the Assistant button overrides it. Same applies to Button Mapper. When it prompts me to press the button I want to add to the list, I press the Assistant button and it opens Google Assistant. Neither Button Mapper, nor Buttons Remapper can even see that I pressed it.
There is an app on the play store called button remapper. It let's you bind any button (including long presses) to any app/function.
I have red for Netflix, blue for prime etc.
Button Mapper wouldn't work for me either, then I gave Buttons Remapper a try. There's an option to disable the Netflix button from doing anything at all and it seems to work with the latest Shield 9.1 update. It's been working for me without issue for the past few days now. I'll even push the Netflix button from time to time just to test it and it's still disabled.
I used this app from the play store. It's pretty straight forward.
Key volume down Bind it it K or whatever letter. Override system and select a filter with only devilutionx as app
Yes! I used a key remapper. I just downloaded the first one on Google Play and set the screenshot to do nothing and currently a few other buttons to do volume. The premium is like, 3 bucks one payment but I'm sure there's better free apps out there, this one just did exactly what I needed lol here
You can use a button remapper.
I use it and can double tap or combinations of buttons. It's great and can be set on a per app basis.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Button Remapper 3rd party Android app is what I used to remap the 'back' button on the front of the Nova 3. It should work for the cover buttons too. Bonus you can map each button to do 2 different sections (long press and short press).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Not affiliated, just the app I ended up using. Free version should work, I got the paid version so I could remap to the touch screen.
I use the button on my Nova 3 for next / previous page.
How I've set it up:
I used the Buttons Remapper app. With the free version you can set it to volume up / volume down which you can use in those apps.
I bought the paid version to set the button do screen taps in the bottom right (short press) / bottom left (long press - I used 0.25 seconds) corner of the screen so it also works when I'm using the Ebro browser, Overdrive, etc.
I've just bought a coupule of cheapish bluetooth buttons as well, I'll let people here know how they go, but honestly I've enjoyed using the botton for next / previous so much more than as a back button (I use the touoch screen shortcut for that).
The only app I regularly use on my Nova 3 that this shortcut doesn't work for is RedReader :(
Loving it!!
The M buttons!!! finally!! You can use button remapper to create macro's. I use it to for the quick settings and app switching, press to hold, double tap, etc. It's great.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en\_CA&gl=US
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
this one can remap the "white" buttons with no problem, but the accessibility service gets turned off a soon the tv turns off :(
that doesnt happen with button mapper
So I found a workaround. Not sure if you still need it but it can be done now.
I downloaded this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Unfortunately it requires a £1.99 purchase to be able to use the screenshot command but you can set the guide button action to screenshot and have it block the system action for the button. This means the guide button now can only screenshot and can't go home etc but that suits me fine.
Having access to button presses is self-explanatory, but having access to button presses with network access is a keylogger.
You can see this app has IAP but no full network access permission. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper Unfortunately it didn't work with the LG google assistant button :(
Yes that's of no use. But you can use it for some other functions like flashlight, opening some applications etc. This is the link for the app from which you can remap it. The name is Buttons Remapper :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
I just bought this phone and am waiting for the parcel to arrive.
But I wanted to do some research in advance on this issue, because I'm not a big fan of the Google assistant functionality...
Has somebody tried this one here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
? It looks promising... but in case it doesn't work, probably we should write a mail to that developer?
Greetings :)
I have a temporary solution for you Install this app buttons remapper Choose power button and then select no action I used this after my volume up stopped working I suggest you install another app for turning screen off from the notifications and a home screen shortcut
I tried the the key mapper app mentioned below and it works without the meta key issue but you have to buy app to get the combination key feature. It costs $1.99.
Maybe this will help you. I use it to replace the KeyMap function to "Launch RESET Collection"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=pt_BR
Which app? Button Remapper says not compatible with my Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Or is there some trick to it?
I got a KeyOne Black Edition (the oft-maligned India variant BBB100-7) a few months ago as my first Blackberry device and I love it. Keyboard is fantastic as is it's battery life, and while it natively does not support the KeyTwo feature of calling up apps via their keyboard shortcut while in another app, I use the [Buttons Remapper](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en_US) app to mimic most of that feature.
The 4GB RAM is enough for my needs though I sometimes have to clear apps out of recents to regain lost RAM.
The much-maligned feature of automatically calling 911 after frequently pressing the power button in close succession is definitely annoying but not a huge issue given the benefits (and lower cost) and the fact that 911 clearly gets that quite a bit and appreciate being told it was a unintended call (I have contributed 4 times in that regard in the last 4 months or so).
As I was new to Blackberry I was pleasantly surprised at how good some of the standard Blackberry apps are.
Good luck on your choice!
I haven't, idk if I'm being stupid this app might not even have connectivity but..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
This one, I just have a habit of blocking everything from the play store
Then make your volume rocker control the media volume instead. This option is built in on some ROMS depending on what phone you have, otherwise I recommend Button Remapper
You could try Button Remapped but I'm not sure if it will treat headset button pushes differently than the buttons on the phone. But it's worth a shot.
I found a temporary solution by using this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Just "remap" volume down to volume down and you're good. I guess it works with similar software that is free as well I'm going to explore that later
have you tried wiping completely and reloading the software from the autoloader? android isnt as graceful for being as widely adopted as it is.
> like I ended a phone call this morning and when I took the phone away from my ear, I was staring at a drop-down menu of notifications, rather than the phone app screen, and I couldn't, for about five seconds, figure out how I was going to end the call
not a bug, just how badly the proxy sensor is placed
> but the Classic had five critical ones that are absent on the KEYone, four of which I used constantly: the phone pickup and hangup buttons, the ultra-useful middle scroll-home-mouse-select button,
phone pickup: double space bar
hangup: power button
> The programmable hotkeys would have far more options than they do
sorry about that, blackberry thought dropping the ball on software would be okay because android is much more customizable. Best I can offer is this. this lets you remap every physical key you want plus the pro version lets you do combinations like the currency + something, like the key2 speed button or whatever
> The phone would be much faster than it is. That Nougat would be polished enough to not miss BB10 too much. That the touch-sensitive keyboard would replace the scroll-button-key in the middle of the tool belt.
thats androids and blackberry's fault. Honestly I dont even know how android even rose to where it is while having far superior competitors. BB10, Windows Phone, Meego. I guess its google's brand image or something
Perhaps something like this is what you want. Reassign a hardware button to launch an application. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
I haven't used that particular app but I have done things like that in the past and it's nice to have.
There's an app, Buttons Remapper - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper only downside is in call volume can't be changed. A change that could be made via ADB would be better though.
You referring to this one? Haven't sideloaded before, will have to try it out later, but want to make sure I'm using the right app.
Sorry, i was focused on hard keys... Sometimes they are similar or ...not. You can try Button remapper, like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper Remember: there is a hierarchy of what-is-reacting-(exclusively)-to-the-key, i.e.: if you have a system setting which is "strong", then no app will help...Find out your hierarchy first.
When i had an OS with on screen buttons i used XPOSED to tamper with that...
i use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper but i don't know if it supports bixby
but i found https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phascinate.bixbybuttonremapper
You mean a short press goes straight to assistant? You should be able to go to settings and either disable assistant entirely or raise the amount of time you need to hold it. Also, you can try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
Might be possible, Flyme is a custom ROM?
Have you tried an app like this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
I haven't used xposed since Marshmallow was used, what I really don't know is whether whatever module is compatible with the device.
> I wish I could disable my capacitive home button and just use the pressure sensitive one. I hate typing with a land mine right below the space bar.
You could try checking out this app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
I haven't used it as I have a rom with gravitybox built in. I think it might have a $2 iap for some features. Otherwise, I guess you'd be stuck waiting for Xposed to get a Nougat update, so that GravityBox can work for it. There may be a unofficial version or workaround for it though. Not sure, not researching it too much as I don't have 7.x.
https://twitter.com/doonce/status/847130560354967552
I prefer this app, it allows you to overwrite system actions, so it might be more effective.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
I know it's been four days but I happened to see this and in case you haven't solved this yet I just downloaded Buttons Remapper (no root) from the Play store to fix it until a system level implementation is available. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
I haven't solved the first part of that problem but I use this app that works perfectly for adjusting media volume instead of ringtone. I highly recommend it.
I use this, it lets you remap the volume buttons to change media volume instead of whatever Android thinks is most relevant.
If I want to change ring volume I'll just open the little menu and change it there.
Maybe something like buttons remapper?
Edit: just realised it doesn't have a lock option, but I guess you can set a shortcut to a screen locker app
Recently got the pro version of button remapper (no root), allows you to assign different functions to your phones buttons.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
If I double tap the recent apps button, it will take me to my app drawer through nova launcher shortcuts. If I hold down on the back button it will return to the last app (premium feature). It has some good options. You can choose press, long press, double or triple tap, or combo.
I use button remapper https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper with my z3c and ds3 controller. With this you can map system buttons like home recent ect to your gamepad buttons. No idea how to turn the stick to a mouse though
It sounds like the S6 was capable of doing so and then a firmware update seems to have disabled it, correct me if I'm wrong but when I search about this function I see people mentioning it having been capable. The Nexus 5X/6P also sound like they're able to do it while not charging.
I feel like now that iPhones have touchless controls and even (some?) Windows phones, this should be standard on all Android devices. I thought QC chips had low power cores now allowing this functionality? Can someone with a better understanding chime in.
edit: If you want a decent compromise you can try an app like Button Remapper and set holding the Home button to launch Google Voice. You just need to disable Now on Tap and go to Settings > Applications > Default Apps > Device Assistance app > Device assistance set to None. It's not perfect and it's not touchless but you may find it useful, seems better than S-Voice at least.
I got this button remapper app and never looked back https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Try this app instead. It shouldn't have the same problem as it just remaps the keys https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
It already exists though..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
I've been a big fan of Button Remapper. I've been using it for months now without an issue
Button remapper works just fine on my S7.
Looking at my root access log, these are the apps I have granted root access on my current device:
Adaway (obvious)
Buttons Remapper (to assign custom actions to my hardware keys: long-press the back button to kill the current app from memory, long press home to launch camera, long press the recents key to open the menu where available). This overrides default actions, like long-pressing home for Google Now/Assistant (I just say 'OK Google' for that as I only use it for voice stuff), and long-pressing for split screen (a feature I never ever use).
f.lux, which adjusts the color temperature at night to be easier on the eyes. Without root, it uses an overlay which is ugly; with root it can actually change the color temp at a system level
Flashify, an app for flashing custom kernels/recoveries/whatever
MyAndroidTools, which can view and stop any running background services on the phone, which can free up battery usage by stopping wakelocks, and other stuff
Termux, terminal emulator
Root Explorer, file manager that can access/change system files
Titanium Backup, does a batch backup of all apps and data. I used it to move all my apps with their data and settings intact from my old phone to this one in minutes, instead of spending hours reconfiguring everything to my liking
Trimmer - Scheduled fstrim with intent to keep things snappy.
Tasker - Automates certain functions.
Root App Deleter - ability to delete unwanted system apps.
cSploit - WiFi hax
In addition to the apps above, I'm running a custom debloated ROM, a custom optimized kernel, and have a 'custom tune' that has increased battery life and bettered memory management.
Oh, and I can do silly stuff like change my boot animation and splash screen. :)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
You'll need to pay for the premium feature.
Depending on your device, this or this (and the related discussion) might work for remapping the navbar.
If you are okay with losing Assistant, you can easily switch home long-press to go home with an automation app.
Alternatively, using Navigation Gestures, Gesture Control, Swipe Navigation, etc which let you assign your functions.
There are other ways to use shortcuts. Physical buttons, hidden menus from a certain area on the phone, custom quick settings tiles
There's this one too. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper it also allows you to change media volume by default.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
You need to pay for the premium feature though.
In an older thread, the app called Buttons Remapper worked for somebody
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Hope it helps
I have not tried it myself, but this app may do what you need:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
Directions to disable the volume buttons are here: https://www.technologyhint.com/disable-volume-buttons-android/
search for "remap buttons"
i recommend https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
I actually enjoy having a large screen in such a small package, the phone fits in pockets so much nicer.
I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en and tie killing the last app to pressing and holding the L2 button
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper this is a good one that doesn't use the white noise method
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=de
I set up my back button long holding to turn off my screen.
Maybe this might work, also wont require root. For root you can have a alot of options either way..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
I prefer this app, it allows you to overwrite system actions, so it might be more effective.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
This works as well. Using it on my Pixel and used it on my 5X.
Edit (found solutions) Use this app to reassign the home button to the tasker shortcut.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper Works like a charm
this is an app available in the google playstore. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en&gl=US
Search the Google Play App store for button remapper. There are at least two different apps there that I've used.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.homebutton
here are the apps that I've tried out:

Maybe try buttons remapper if you can't find a setting
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
This is what I use, works perfectly
Buttons Remapper will do that for you without root. I've not tested it personally.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
Button remapper lets you swap those if you REALLY can't adjust :0
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en_US
I was having hardware issues with my volume up button recently (it was getting stuck held down). The temporary workaround that I used (which might help you while you figure out this issue) was using Button Remapper to disable my volume buttons, Volume Control to control my volume from a notification, and Screenshot Tile (F-Droid, Google Play) to take screenshots (although this doesn’t seem to be an issue for you).
>Page Up/Page Down (not scrolling) using the hardware buttons feature.
If the Onyx native browser doesn't do this (the one on my N96ML running pretty much the same software doesn't), you can probably assume nobody will.
You might be able to use an app that maps physical buttons to macros to rig something. The tricky part is coming up with a macro to do "whole page" scrolls.
I was going to suggest Buttons Remapper because it doesn't require "root", but it needs Android 4.3. Button Savior is an "oldie but a goodie" that will at least run on 4.0 but it requires "root". I've used it back in the Dark Ages (but not for this). They have a "non-root" version, but it requires 4.1 unfortunately. Tincore Keymapper doesn't need root and it runs on 4.0, but I can't vouch for it beyond that.
I am using this one.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
But there are also alternatives like
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.homebutton
I use the first one since it offer more buttons for the free version than the second one, despite the second one has more features and utilities.
I use the hold home button for camera and the back button for back function, with accesibility feature turned on. I can say that now I have more utilities than ebfore! haha
I believe you can use this app, select the Google app. Would that work? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
i hope the free part of https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper supports detection (my hint for you) ... I use this (paid) and i even prefer it over AI....
This might work for you: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
I used this app and used my broadlink to send a tv off command. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&rdid=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Warning: potential battery drain because of a silent background sound. Remapping the buttons may be a better idea.
well i found this and it seems to work https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&rdid=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
I've always used this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
You can just get the app from the play store. Remember that the Priv is also an Android BlackBerry :)
> buttons mapper (no root)
I assume you mean this one?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
Just search the play store there are lots of apps that allow you to do that.
root isn't even needed: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en
Button remapper can capture over any hardware input, including gamepads. Unfortunately it can only send a few, like Camera button or Back button.
Bt controller, Gamepad and a whole bunch of other apps can simulate hardware inputs, but they take their input from the screen.
No-one's put them together to allow custom remapping with combos, though. The closest I can find is GameKeyboard + which doesn't seem to support input combos, and Tincore, which I think should be able to do it, but I can't get it to do anything.
You went the wrong direction! Never tried it, but you could give this a shot if it really bothered you.
I prefer Button Remapper. Used it to make the volume keys control media volume.
I had the same problem. Fixed it with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
You could try this, or something like it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
Perhaps you could try an app like buttons remapper?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
No root solution (Premium let's you go to previous app)
Yes to the media, using Buttons remapper
> Button Mapper
Link doesn't work, is this the one you mean? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper
I have not tried this, but you could give this a try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.irishin.buttonsremapper&hl=en_GB
although I suggest you get the phone fixed.
Yeah I actually did the same thing too but with Buttons Remapper so I can still use the buttons.
Try out this app
No idea about how to handle it in code, maybe this could help in the meantime.
