Nokia's mapping division was sold off years ago but is still around and retains the HERE branding. They have an Android app now which still supports offline navigation, works on the HMD devices just as well as any other Android phone.

You should try Launcher 10, it's pretty much perfect. With in-app purchase even has live tiles for some tiles.
While I don't use it as my launcher, this my start screen I had setup some time ago. All tiles are fully customisable and use of adaptive icons (see Pokemon Go and Instagram).
Just looked it up on GSM Arena, it's got a big battery for a feature phone.

I was also using Gcam but Opencamera gives better results with minimal loss.

Who said flagship? I can get a (arguably better) phone with a 625 for the exact same price on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Moto-Plus-5th-Generation-Lockscreen/dp/B01NBRN2YI
a 14nm process means a more efficient core as well. Literally half the nanometers, can't stress that enough. the 2ghz vs 1.4ghz is also a big deal. 625 is already the minimum cpu i would want, and the 430 is like 20-30% slower.
It ticks pretty much all the boxes in terms of features though the GPU is very basic (worse than SD450 for example) and probably not very good for games. The chipset overall is manufactured on 12nm process though which is pretty great.
Would like to see screen resolution in pixels and a price EDIT: 720x1440, $155/€135 according to https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_31_plus_unveiled_in_india_with_a_6_screen_dual_camera_and_larger_battery-news-33692.php
Edit: Will try to do a live write-up of the main points below:

Here is the GSM arena write-up with more specs for the phones: https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_5_1_3_1_2_1-review-1770.php
The 6.1 can currently be pre-ordered from Amazon or B&H Photo. I suspect that there will be more retailers when it does officially launch, and that the price for the 3/32GB version will go down after the 4/64GB version is available.
I've been using the lawnchair launcher and it's pretty damn good, basically just the pixel launcher but with more customization options
Yup! The Nokia 6.1 was added to the list of ARCore supported devices last week during Google I/O. Amazon has a similar feature in their app that we can use and there are a few games you can try that make use of it. Google's Just a Line is a fun little experiment that shows off the tech pretty nicely as well.
Oh god, it's working fine here on N7+ damn wtf. You can find it here https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/nokia-apps-distribution-llc/z-launcher/z-launcher-1-3-8-beta-release/z-launcher-1-3-8-beta-android-apk-download/
Download it and reinstall it from here
Then it will work no problem
Warning: I do not use SnapChat, but I've tried some apps similar to it
I guess the image quality in Snapchat is as good as the camera, so it can be comparable, so I guess it's pretty good
Everything runs fluent, except for those demanding games
This phone is very good for its price
I've noticed this as well, that there is a certain model of N8 with more RAM and storage, but I don't know how to distinguish one version from the others.

There is no need to install Nova launcher. You can use this app, it is a shortcut to UI Tuner. Simpler and faster.

What does ampere app tell you about the change current and is it in the ac charger mode?
Also are you using the original charger and/or the cable?
My extra long usb-c to usb-a cable with the factory adapter has in few occasions put my Nokia 8 into usb charger mode. In that mode my charge level was dropping instead of charging up.
However simply reconnecting the cable on either end fixed it.

I found there are better alternatives than the Nokia Camera app. You can keep it if you wish, it will work just fine on its own.
But in my opinion, Secure Camera, which is free and ad-free, and adds a layer of privacy works better.

Nokia 7 Plus? Nokia 8.1?
I don't own either of them but from what I've seen and heard, they both do well in low light.
GSMArena's photo compare tool should be useful to you, though it doesn't have photo samples for every phone model.
The X71 isn't available in the UK or even Europe yet, and will probably be launched under another name (rumoured to be 6.2 or 8.1 Plus).
The apk for Google Assistant Go is here.
I assume that with a "flip phone" you mean a phone with a number pad (which also appear more numerously with the candybar form factor).
IIRC, originally Android was designed for phones with a number pad and still has support for those. Actual phones with that form factor are relatively few, such as LG Gentle. Of course, the question would be pairing a number pad (and resulting smallish display) with a sufficiently high powered SoC to run a modern Android.
Well consider that android is huge, then consider this http://techcrunch.com/2013/04/18/wheres-twitter-music-for-android-why-todays-tech-companies-are-still-going-ios-first/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed then consider that windows is tiny and maybe you'll see that they've a mountain to climb, and not a static one either
This Flipkart? That'll probably be the case in India. No news from Lazada and Shopee Philippines though. I'll still check though.
Edit: whoops. Found 3A in Lazada! Yay. Gonna check out 4A then. Thank you.
*7.1 Plus. There is rumor for a non-plus 7.1 without notch.
It's a weird look for the "official sales partner for the Nokia 3.1 in the US". Apparently it was originally supposed to release in June, so I wonder what's up and who's the problem? I'll happily admit I've spent the last couple days looking around at other phones.
I have not, but I don't really keep up with such things. I looked at the Android One web page, and it has a list of phones, many of which I have never heard of. I assume they're targeting other markets, or are made to comply with Chinese legal requirements.
https://www.android.com/one/
I like this website for specs and reviews:
https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6_(2018)-8972.php
Expand the network portion of the specs, and take note of all the bands it supports, and then find the bands your carrier uses and crosscheck them.
Most user reviews from any place are usually dubious at best. They're mostly slanted towards people who are having an issue with something, and there are a lot of people who cause their own issues.
Kimovil's frequency checker is very useful to check network compatibility: https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/nokia-6-2018
However, it looks like the specific model TA-1068 isn't listed there yet.
I found a renewed Google Pixel 3a XL on Amazon. If you're okay with renewed phones you could check it out. It won't be getting Android 13 but should be getting Android 12 as soon as it releases in September.

"My phone: the official app for Nokia phones"
Try using this app called Gcam tool on google play. I use it to automatically move all my photos from the camera folder to my sd card.
I like 1Weather https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handmark.expressweather except that I hate the persistent notification that it has on by default, so I always go in settings and it's easy to disable all those check boxes. I just want the widget and then tapping the widget to get more detail.
By default it uses Google Maps Go, which is basically a wrapper for a mobile version of the website. For navigation it requests installation of a separate app, Navigation for Google Maps Go which works alright, GPS is accurate, directions are accurate, app is decently smooth. Only thing I don't like is that the navigation interface is wider than I'm used to on Waze or full Gmaps. Naturally, you can install the full Google Maps app but I personally don't think I'd need it.
As for battery, I'm still not sure, I didn't use it enough to get an accurate reading; I'm on 33% right now with 1d5h since last charge, but SOT of 2h34; during this time I installed a bunch of games via 4G (GTA III and GTA:SA), I played a few minutes of GTA:SA, played solitaire, fiddled around on the web, navigated a bit and then and left it on with Google Maps on the screen while parked for about an hour. So pretty erratic usage, I wouldn't trust the numbers in these conditions.
It takes about 3 hours to fully charge.
Yep, that's the point of using the VPN. The updates are geographically being blocked by Nokia (despite their assurances that "they'll show up eventually").
In my case, during the factory reset I had to stop the automatic downloads of my previously installed apps so I could get TunnelBear VPN installed. Then jumped around until I found a connection that would give me the prompt. Today it was India (I was previously able to get the June patch connecting to the USA).
Once the patch was available and it started downloading, I paused it and disconnected the VPN (as I'm only on the free 500MB/month plan) and the download was able to continue.
The idea of providing the OTA download link directly is so that you can download it to your phone and sideload it through recovery without needing to go through the tricks. However as I mentioned in my post, this particular file is for the TA-1050 and I don't know if other variants have the same file.
Yeah, that strategy doesn't work. I think the only one that works is removing SIM, clearing the data of Carrier Services app, and then using NordVPN to connect to Finland. That seems to be the option that works the most.
However, I would just recommend to stay put and continue waiting. Yeah, it's really frustrating, especially the way Nokia is handling this publicly, but clearly they are still rolling out Oreo, so I would just wait.
VPN didn't work for me either until just now. I have no SIM in the phone though, and the other day I reset the phone and set it up as new. I haven't had a SIM in it since.
I've been checking for updates almost hourly today. Finally I decided to try using NordVPN to connect to a Finnish server and it flashed up as being up to date then almost immediately offered Oreo.
This is a UK spec Nokia 8 bought from Amazon and obviously being used in the UK.
Maybe it was a coincidence and everyone in the UK now has Oreo available but I literally checked about 8 times before connecting to the VPN. Maybe this didn't work for me last time I tried (about four days ago) because the phone had read carrier details from the EE SIM.
Hi! Sorry to hear about this. Your IMEI should be printed onto the SIM card tray. Alternatively, if you install Googles "Find My Device" app onto another Android phone and log in, you should also be able to find your IMEI there as well. If Nokia can't prove that you're at fault for the issue (drop damage, water damage etc.), and your phone is still within the warranty period, the entitled repair (or replacement, if you live in the EU) should be free. Best of luck with everything, and feel free to ask me any question. :)
I haven't gotten to try many out yet. The updated version hasn't rolled out to my play store yet so I sideloaded it. It seems most of the ARCore specific apps I looked at either weren't available for my device yet or crashed as soon as I opened them. There was a Tamagotchi app that had a hide and seek game that worked as did the AR stuff they added to the Motion Stills app. Google's Just a Line experiment wasn't available to me yet on the Play Store but I was able to sideload that and it worked just fine. Some stores like Amazon and Ikea are adding the ability to preview furniture and stuff in AR so you can see how things would fit into your living space though I haven't tried those yet. I imagine this wider rollout of ARCore will encourage more devs to come up with more apps to play with. I'm really hoping Niantic uses this to finally bring the Pokemon GO AR+ feature to Android.
I went for a while without allowing the Contacts app to update at all from the original version that shipped with the phone. It allowed merging contacts across multiple accounts. Unfortunately, that goes flying out the window once you're on 8.0, 8.1, or the betas for either.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asus.contacts
I downloaded Asus's ZenUI contacts / dialer app and used it to merge all of the duplicate contacts. You don't have to use it as your main dialer / phone book. Bizarrely enough, once you merge them there, the native Google Contacts app can reflect those changes. When you consider the fact that the older versions of that same app could just handle the merge on their own, and that the newer ones can properly display contacts merged by either the old version or a different app, you have to wonder why the fuck Google deliberately crippled the app like that. It's especially damning when the crappy "people" app on Windows 10 can handle it too. Although W10M itself let Skype duplicate your contacts ad nauseum. GG Google.
Hopefully Nokia updates firmware to support the capacitive buttons as a notification indicator? They did mention the glance screen will support social apps via an update. It is silly at it's current state I feel, would need to keep switching the screen on to check :/
Don't know if this still works but it's kind of a workaround though https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.led.notify and I think if root is achieved we could use the capactive buttons even if nokia doesn't official support it. Feels crappy though need to find workarounds for something that is usually standard these days. :/

Does the phone connect to the PC at all? Does it show up as an audio device after connecting? We want to get to the point where the phone audio can be heard through the PC speakers.
Alternative / Worst case you go through an analog stage with one of those Bluetooth audio receivers you can get on Amazon. You just need to have a line in audio jack or a cheap usb sound card if you go that route. They are generally used to connect a Bluetooth devicee to cars that don't have it. You pair the phone to it and it will have a 3.5mm or dual RCA jack output that you can record in the analog domain.
>I hear this thing doesn't ship with bloatware
That will highly depend on what you consider bloatware.
HMD has signed partnerships with ExpressVPN and Spotify to pre-load their apps unto their phones. This in addition to the ones they already suggest you to install when you set up the phone, plus all the Google apps that you're forced to have installed on the phone.
So you do get the featureless experience of stock Android, plus the bloatware apps other OEMs also tend to pre-install. The only thing you won't get is duplicate apps for services (so no HMD messages, phone, calendar etc).
There is this adapter works on all android devices does not play drm content. https://www.amazon.com/Android-Mirroring-Charging-Smartphones-Projector/dp/B08LN8Z6QX/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=3IA3IVY18SREJ&keywords=hdmi+to+usb+c+android&qid=1659104730&sprefix=hdmi+to+usb+c+androi%2Caps%2C69&sr=8-5

With the default launcher, no, it will always stay.
I installed Ruthless Launcher and in that you have an option to remove/change the search bar and even the 'at a glance'. Very resource light too.
deducing from (https://www.flipkart.com/dizo-star-500/p/itm120ee1cab516b)[flipkart listing] looks like something similar to whatever Unisoc/Spreadtrum based 2G phone
I'm not sure how much in dollars but hmd stuff that runs on S30+/ThreadX would be a better option for calling as it has VoLTE support for areas that has 3G decomissioned instead of 2G if you don't like KaiOS. I can't believe the camera sensor is way smaller, makes hmd stuff looks better with an actually usable camera and I've used Microsoft 105 before
Scroll to the end. The page linked by OP has full specs. Or then you could type "gsmarena 2720 flip" into your favourite search engine and find this page.
You're wrong about pricing, maybe shop around. OnePLus sells it's current and previous year models only and for very good reasons which I won't get into. Any model older than that is an independent seller with back stock. I paid $450.00 less than two weeks ago for a brand new 6T 8gb,128gb which is last years model. Here is the Galaxy S9+, OnePlus 6T & 6T McLaren compared - https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9350&idPhone2=8967&idPhone3=9469 The trade offs OnePlus makes in it's build make it the far better choice imho. Companies like OnePlus, Honor & Xiaomi are why there are now models like the Samsung Galaxy S10e & Apple iPhone XR. This certainly doesn't apply to Nokia. Go look at other's market share and you'll see that this is the case. Nokia doesn't even scratch the surface compared to the other brands I listed. Nokia has the right idea in a lot of ways but Android One will be their doom. Also, the OnePlus's skin, OxygenOS is one of the most popular and friendly UI out there. Rooting OnePlus doesn't even break the warranty. Who else is doing that? Nokia demands you sign off on the warranty and only on certain models to be able to gain root access and control you're own device. That speaks volumes. I loved my Nokia's build quality but again, Android One ruined it.
The Nokia 8810 is compatible with the following of T-Mobile's frequency bands:
This is assuming you are purchasing the European version, as opposed to the MENA/China variant? It's best you check band and frequency compatibility depending on what you are buying and your local T-Mobile coverage.

Primarily colour, The 06 is gold colour chrome and white. the 03 is the black plastic budget model. The same phone under the skin but sold at different price points to reflect the aesthetic differences.
I would rather go with the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, which is also Stock Android, but the processor is way better:

Here in Germany it is around 140 bucks, so if you can grab it for that amount of money aswell, it is a better bang for the buck!
A few month ago I was at the same point as you now. I was deciding between 8 and 8.1. An then someone wrote why I not to consider taking the 7 plus. And I read the specs about the 7 plus and eventually took that phone. I am very happy with it actually. The camera isn't that great, but it works fine for me and the OS works smoothly and the battery life is great and the price is also neat.
Try to compare the specs of the phones you consider to buy via page like e.g. https://www.gsmarena.com/
and you will surely find what you are looking for.
Try these:
If they don't work for you, there's heaps of alternatives on the Google Play store.
The Next Web has declared Nokia to be the leader in OS Update Frequency.
So if you prioritize updates, you should go with Nokia.
I already use it, but only seems to shift the noise from grayish into blue/red. This is Arnova v8 from my scene: https://i.imgur.com/POijqGJ.png

you just need to know that the video output wire is not the yellow one i remember is the red one

redmi 5a images suffers terrible noise even when slightly zoomed compared to nokia 5. using digital zoom would always made large text from faraway (like presentation slide, billboards etc) to become unreadable.
checked gsmarena samples and compared real shots from both phones. samples from gsmarena seems accurate for my case. for some reason redmi 5a samples are no longer in the database, but at least redmi 5 against nokia 5 here already shows almost similar issue except it's barely noticeable compared to redmi 5a
So GSMArena has a bunch of full-size, but significantly compressed, samples on their page: https://www.gsmarena.com/feast_your_eyes_on_these_nokia_9_pureview_camera_samples-news-35690.php
While the dynamic range and colours are very impressive, I remain somewhat underwhelmed by the details from a pixel-peeping perspective, though uncompressed files may prove different. As well, despite the five cameras, transitions between "layers" of depth of field remain noticeable around edges (see the stem of the banana bundle in the back row, farthest from viewer), though much better than existing two or three camera setups.

The 220 gives you camera and Bluetooth, and a bigger SD card capacity. Slightly smaller battery, but it's a more recent phone.
I haven't used either phone though.

I think you need to understand what is treble & how it is different from android one
Through treble OEM can make their own way customisation without changing the core, whereas android one is OEM who do not want to customise the features.
That doesn't mean there is no customisation required for android one, because of hardware limitations. Nokia 6 3gb variant doesn't have smooth animations like the 4gb. Caching of ram & app refresh also need to be customised & tested. If you think it is as simple as just an apk installation, then you aren't as smart as you think you are.
HMD has supplied updates to all their devices, right from Nokia 3, without fucking it up like Google, so yeah, I'm just giving credit where it is due.
Lol, pixel subreddit is the one who pointed it] out, & t before you tell me about courtesy, you should be due diligent) in backing up your claims.
It sounds in line with what others are reporting. With how widespread the issue is (not terribly so, but enough people complaining IMO), it's either standard or something so common repairs may not even fix it.
Distorsions and lower stereo quality with headphones is also noted in GSMarena's review. I don't know exactly how bad is 0.166 THD & 0.282 IMD+Noise, but it looks like a far cry from other phones in that list. The vast majority is at least 0.00x and 0.0x respectively. My iPad comes in at those numbers, so does the old SIII. The Nokia also does fine with an external amplifier, which checks out with my basic observation.
That said it isn't something one would notice if they're not looking for it or don't care about audio quality too much. I don't expect to be able to prove anything at the service center when I've already tried and failed for another issue (and it received software resets in the process). Nor would I expect them to flash Android 7, what would it solve anyway? Granted, I've updated to 8 just after getting the phone, but this seems entirely hardware related.
I also trust my ears enough to tell that the audio output sounds worse than my other devices.
The Nokia 8 is finally ready to taste Android Pie.

It does support usb OTG. In theory, any working OTG cable should do the trick.
I'm looking for some help understanding the specs of the Nokia 5.1.
I've been looking at the Nokia 5.1. Nokia's website (I'm in the UK, so see that version of the site, shows that there are 2 variants of the phone:
3GB RAM & 32GB Storage
2GB RAM & 16 GB Storage
There's a link to purchase the phone, but it doesn't say which version of the phone goes into the cart.
I've been doing some googling to try and understand where the 3GB/32GB variant is available, and the information is really mixed. Very few places seem to specify if this model of phone actually does exist in the 3GB/32GB version. GSM Arena seems to think that this model does exist as a default option, and it doesn't lit the 2GB/32GB version on its site when following the link for Nokia 5.1
I tried a chat session with Nokia's help team to get them to tell me what it was they were selling on their website, and they were pretty useless; all they said was "there is no more information available at this time" and that I should visit a local store for more information.
My current theories are:
The Nokia 5.1 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage does exist, but only in certain markets like India. Listing its information on the UK version of the Nokia website is a mistake
The Nokia 5.1 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is actually the Nokia 5.1 Plus, which is a different phone with larger screen/notch, and USB-C, not Micro USB
Can anyone help me figure out if the Nokia 5.1 with 3GB RAM and 32GB Storage actually exists, and where it may be available?
My mom actually does have a smartphone, a 6730 classic. If that breaks, she has her a fully working 1110 and 3310 for backup.
I'd say that the GSM only starts to be a deal breaker. 3G networks will still be with us for a good while.
According to GSMArena, the only ATT LTE band that the APAC (Asia-Pacific) 6.1 supports is band 5, so LTE coverage may be very limited in the US.
You should have gotten HSPA and GSM coverage though.
> the 7 Plus having far better contrast ratio, and black level. Basically the two most important things if comparing to OLED.
and not color accuracy, or maximum brightness for sunlight legibility? By that logic, Nokia 7.1 has the worst screen in the lineup.
Contrast ratio is one of the easiest thing to test but also very misleading since the ratio can change so much with numerator value <1.
okay, they still own it, but employee none of the people who maintain it. That's not what you do with IP you plan on developing further.
and sure, some new Symbian phones are still trickling out, but that will stop in the next year. Nokia has already said as much.
I am having some minor and major bugs with my new Nokia 7 Plus camera.
First of all while recording videos even in quiet rooms the audio track is filled with a loud hiss. Is that normal, or a hardware fault?
Secondly i have a strange bug: as soon as i use the camera zoom in my stock camera app, the zoom won't work for any other app anymore, until i reboot my device (snapchat, whatsapp, instagram). After a reboot the zoom is working fine for those apps, but as soon as i start the stock camera app and use the zoom, it stops working again for those apps until i reboot.
In the end i would like to know if there is any possibility to enable OZO Audio System wide and not only in the stock camera app?
[TA-1055] Upgraded my 7 plus to pie (build 00WW_3_22C) but the new emojis aren't there. Is it just me?
You can use this (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.appdictive.getcurrentwallpaper&hl=el&gl=US) app to extract it, and then you can upload it on Google Drive or wherever else you want😊
Not sure where exactly in India but I'm pretty sure you can get one on Amazon or Flipkart. Mine was Ugreen but they go by different names I believe: (make sure to pick the correct plug, I'm assuming you use a type-c/reversible plug, right?)

It charges via micro USB like most phones so you're good there.
I have no idea if it'll work on Canadian networks. What bands does your provider use?
Here's a link that shows the bands the 8110 uses but I'm not sure if it's that simple: https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_8110_4g-9089.php
Bands used by Canadian carriers:
https://www.androidcentral.com/everything-you-need-know-about-4g-lte-canada
Seemd like the overlap is only bands 5 and 7 for Bell and Telus and just 7 on Rogers. Someone else needs to chime in if it'll actually connect to these.
The network bands correspond so it should work. These are the T Mobile US bands; https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-4988
And these are the bands supported by the Sirocco;
https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_8_sirocco-9087.php
T Mobile offers band 2 for 2g/3g/LTE and it's also supported by Nokia aswell as some other bands.
That's why I suggested Rootless Pixel 2 Launcher. Completely Stock. Not much to customize. Perfect for those wishing a stock experience.

Smartphones are still minority compared to regular mobiles phones. They are too expensive for majority of the world. Nokia still has S40 platform that is very popular. As well I heard that Nokia plans Qt for feature phones (what basically makes them smartphones). It is still not clear if that's going to be Qt for S40 or new OS (http://techcrunch.com/2011/09/29/nokia-preparing-new-meltemi-os-for-low-end-phones/). What's is really clearly visible for me as developer Nokia is still investing into Qt support (MeeGo as well). CPU power doubles in 2 years so after two year we are going to see clash between this unknown Nokia strategy and cheap Android phones - that's my guess and there my time and some money is invested.
Let's not forget that iPhone is only 5 years old so a lot might change during this time.
Unfortunately, I doubt it. The advertising for Android One never gives a timeframe for when OEMs need to push the updates out, all it says is something along the lines of fast or quickly, which is rather subjective. Heck, the official page for Android One features the 5.3, and flat out says "the latest Android 10 operating system" (https://www.android.com/one/). You could argue that the only true guarantee made by the phone being part of the Android One program are the two years of major OS upgrades, and the extra year of security patches, and as long as OEMs get the updates out in a "reasonable" timeframe (eg. there isn't so long between OS updates that large amounts of support are being lost, including major apps such as Facebook and Spotify, as well as Google Play Service updates). You may have a case for the security updates, as they are, by nature, much smaller patches than an OS upgrade, and are much more important to get out quickly, which Nokia/HMD has been failing pretty hard with, at least with the 6.2 (mine is still on the March 1 security patch, which is two and a half months old at this point).

Still, I feel scammed by my decision to get a 6.2. The promise of fast updates played pretty heavily into my decision to get it, but the time and money it would take to pursue a verdict against HMD or Google for the potentially deceptive advertising of the phone would be far too much to cover the value of the phone. Best thing I can do is avoid Nokia phones in the future, and look at phones in the Android One program with an abundance of caution.
I checked the Android Go website and the first image that pops up is a phone's home screen with the gesture nav bar at the bottom, so your device should support it.
https://www.android.com/versions/go-edition/
Have you checked to see if gesture navigation is an available option in your phone's settings?
Also, are you using a launcher? Unless I'm mistaken, gesture navigation is not currently supported by any third party launchers. Should be supported in a future update, though.
Edit: Added link to Android Go website.
See all Android One phones here: https://www.android.com/one/. Aside from Nokia, they're mostly Motos and Xiaomis, there's also one from LG. Not a lot of options, sadly.
There's also OnePlus and Pixel, but they're more on the expensive side.
It's not really "up to interpretation". You can read what Android One is here https://www.android.com/one/
Stock Android is any version of AOSP that gets Google's Play Services but isn't part of the Android One program. For example, HMD's 2017 phones (the Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 8) were all stock Android phones. Meaning they ran the AOSP version of Android and were then certified to get Play Services like any other OEM does. HMD however, kept the alterations to stock Android to a minimum.
Android One phones, however, have a set of rules pre-determined by Google in terms of hardware AND software.
I use this cover https://www.flipkart.com/jump-start-store-screen-guard-nokia-6-1-plus/p/itmf8hgpqqscdftp?pid=ACCF8GPTXFTUATFE&lid=LSTACCF8GPTXFTUATFEUWSG33 Not bad but it will have to be replaced in an year.
GsmArena rates the Nokia 7 Plus way better than the 8
I have the 8 and I find the battery to be good enough. A little worse than my OP5 but not bad at all.
