I got liteflow to customize the color of the notification LED, but you can also use it to set custom vibration patterns and durations. There is also an option to have notifications recurring in case you miss it. There is a free version as well.
There was a really cool app back in the day that could customize the LED to damn near anything.
Found it Light Flow Pro. Pretty cool app if you have an LED that can change colors. It'll also do pulse blinks, I believe.
Physical keyboard is awesome, near stock Android with no bloatware, huge battery, large front facing speaker, Bluetooth/WiFi/cell connection seems stronger and more reliable than my S6.
I think the Priv is the best android phone on the market right now.
Edit: Also built in wireless charging compatible with both QI and Powermat standards. Samsung is the only other manufacturer that enables that by default. Also MicroSD card support, which Samsung doesn't include in their phones anymore.
Edit 2: I also love the notification light. You can fully customize it by using lightflow: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
lightflow can do it. I haven't had a notification led for years, but I still use this for custom vibration and camera flash notification.
Similar situation, I use light flow to help me determine if it's worth picking up. Different colour led /different flash speed depending on the notification.
With Lightflow you can gain controll of your LED and customize about anything including "sleep settings" etc... Maby this can help.
Not by default that I am aware of but if you get Light Flow (I got the paid version, can't remember what limitations are in the free one) then you can customise the LED notification, vibration and notification sounds to your hearts content - how long for, how frequent, patterns, colours, just about everything. Happy to help if you have any trouble setting it up.

Okay the only solution I can think of is <strong>Light Flow</strong>. I have the pro version installed but there is also a light version but I don't know if that has the specifics functions you need. But I guess you can always buy the pro version and refund it if it does not work.
As far as I understand the app "hijacks" notifications of any app you want. You can then set notifications, popups, LED, sound or vibration for any app notification you want. There is also a "repeat" option for sounds and vibration. And it also has the option to "override silent mode" so your last point is also answered.
I think it needs a bit of work to set up but as far as I remember it worked well for me. I did download it just for you because I did not need to use it in the past years but it still seems to get updated and has a nice new user interface. Good luck :)
It's an app (one of the popular ones at least back in 2013 or so) that lets you customize LED notifications for each app. You can customize color, blink pattern, and priorities.
So for instance I have GMail blink green, but its the lowest priority, so if I get an SMS, it blinks blue and overrides the green. Meanwhile the highest priority is missed calls which blink red for me, and overrides all other notifications. You can also set it up to just blink all the colors for which you have notifications too. You can even set it to blink for certain Gmail accounts only or certain calendars. You can even customize sound and vibration events as well as popups. It's basically a notification manager and it's highly customizable.
I use Lightflow currently have it set to notify for hangouts, sms, inbox and calls. All of which have had their vibrations configured to be very short (using the custom vibration setting)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en_GB is the definitive app for this.
You'll also need: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlegacy&hl=en_GB if you don't want a permanent notification on your AO display.
Light Flow is a great app that can do this. It's main function is setting colours for the LED for specific notifications but it goes much more in depth then that.
I've been running it since my Galaxy Nexus days.
Use Lightflow, imo the best app for LED notifications.
You can find it here
There is also a free version of it.
Ease up, mate. I'm just pointing out that this is a gimmick. I'm all for progress, but this isn't that.
The wiper analogy doesn't work here. That is actually a functional upgrade. You yourself admit that you use the notification LED the most on your phone. Turning it into a visualisation destroys it's ability to actually function as a notification. That's not even a baby step, that's a backwards step.
A better analogy would be "you know what would make my driving experience better? Turning my speedometer into a music visualisation."
Good on the developer for trying something different, but it's still a gimmick that removes useful functionality.
Edit: you change your wallpaper because it's customisable and doesn't affect how the phone works. Same for your lockscreen. Changing the background adds personal customisation to it and adding widgets adds functionality.
If you want an app that is actually useful for customising the notification LED, then use LightFlow or Gravitybox Premium with Ultimate Notification Control.
Have a look at LightFlow, I'm using it for this exact purpose. As a bonus it can also make your notification LED flash in different colors per app...
You can use an app called Light Flow which will enable this. However, I am not sure if the free version will do this or if you need to buy the app.
Also, if you decide to go with a custom rom, CM12 Nightlies will have this function soon.
I use this app. I've used it for years since my first Xperia the M5 back in the day. Highly customisable and light on resources. Highly recommend it!!
You can customise the duration of the vibration or pattern it makes using apps like Light Flow, I've set it up on mine because I find I miss notifications, so I can set the key apps I use to send reminder notifications to me. You can set up your own patterns you want to use so if you want more vibration set it to be on for longer, less set the duration for a shorter burst.
I used Light Flow for years and years until I moved on to a phone without any LED and it was good enough I bought the full version. Checking it in the play store, I see it hasn't been updated in a while, so perhaps take this with a grain of salt.
I thought you wanted BuzzKill at first, but then reread that you want control of the LED notification light. The popular app that I remember is Light Flow. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
Light Flow is a powerful app for customizing the LED (and other notification types like vibration patterns), but a) it's not free and b) it appears to be no longer maintained.
There are many apps like this to control the LED in the App Store:
I've never used one of these apps but many people recommend them and this one allows you to select which LED notifications to disable.
I wonder if you have an app installed (like Light Flow) that assists with calendar/event notifications. Sometimes if you don't set those types of apps up properly, this can happen. If all else fails, uninstall the last few apps you installed since this started happening.
It's been years since I've used Android, but back then I used Light Flow. It's paid, but they have a free Legacy version on the Play Store that you could try. It lets you customize the colors and duration of flashing, so I think it will also let you turn the LED off. Hopefully it's compatible with the REVVL. Best of luck!
Tasker itself can't turn on the LED unless you put up a notification.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow is the best way. I believe that it has Tasker integration.
Event - UI - Notification for Toggl would be the profile.
you can have Lightflow wake the screen for specific apps. There's a free version to try as well if you'd prefer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en_GB
I guess you can use Light Flow or any similar app.
One thing to keep in mind, I do not know if it is been fixed or if it was 100% related to it but when the S8 came out LED changing apps seemed to kill the LED notifications.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=es
If you want to use it also for notifications (assign different colors to different types of notifications) you can also look into LightFlow
Are you rooted?
EDIT 1: Nevermind the root access, Light Flow will do the trick.
Light Flow Pro: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
Light Flow Lite: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlite
I'm not too sure what each light is for, I use LightFlow to modify and control all of my notifications include specializing LED colors to certain notifications.
so the LED colors can be whatever you like the to.
Depends on the app, you can change it in the app settings for most texting apps, if you have the default LG texting app, you can even customize a specific persons contact notification color in the LG contacts app.
For the pretty limited time I did use the default app, I set my girlfriends to pink, and boss to white, just so I can know if someone who's more important is texting me at the time, pretty nifty.
As for other apps, most have a default color set for the app, Facebook uses the darker blue, twitter the lighter blue, my Gmail also uses lighter blue, while Snapchat uses yellow. My guess is some apps, LG figured to add colors for.
Like someone else mentioned, LightFlow is a great app to change everything to your preference, and to a lot of people is well worth the $2.49.
Another great app is Lightflow, you may need to be rooted though: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
Has anyone else noticed how primitive the note 4 from led is to the s4 and note 2s led? It doesn't seem to have the nice fade or color variance of the older phones.
The app developers choose that when they code up their apps. Though there are apps that let you customize the colors. Lightflow is probably the most popular.
It's really useful, especially if you install Light Flow to customize it properly.
Being able to tell who messaged you at a glance can be useful.
This i'm not sure about, but you can try Light flow - LED control from the play store. I've used it on older phones with great success :)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en
or
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlite&hl=en
I've been using Light Flow to get Reminders sent to my Pebble with great success.
Edit: Here's a link.
First off, great app, dude! I bought it and am using it, it's way better than the rest. I've got a suggestion/request for a feature:
Light flow (an app for customizing the LED based on notifications), in some messaging apps (most notably whatsapp and telegram), makes it possible to set different LED colors for group and direct messages. This is great for me as group messages are not urgent and I wouldn't want to waste the band's battery on them, but would like to have it vibrate on direct messages. Would it be too hard to implement that? I think it would be appreciated by more people as well.
(It can also tell calls and messages apart in fb messenger, hangouts, skype, and the like, which is cool, but I would use groups and direct messages way more)
Yep. Try LightFlow
Although originally designed for customizing your led colors for different events, it'll also allow you to take over sounds as well.. Couple caveats. One, you have to disable the in app notification so that LF can handle it. Secondly, I found the app to be a little heavy re:processor/battery use. But I haven't used it in a few years now.
like others have said, you have to set them up app by app through each apps settings.
the only other way to do it that I know of is something like Lightflow this pulls in all your apps, you can choose what apps you want to be notified by, then change the tone, the vibrate, and the LED notification all through one app.
it works pretty good last time I tried it....but I didn't do the sounds though the app.
I use LightFlow to customize not only the notification sounds but also the vibration patterns and LED colours. For that, it works really good.
I don't know about distinct Google accounts, though. I think LightFlow supports those, at least I get to select my one and only account in there...
If you don't mind downloading a third-party app, I highly recommend Light Flow. There's also a free version (Light Flow lite) if you just want to test it out. It lets you control the screen turning on a per-app basis, and if the phone has an LED it lets you customize that as well.
I don't know about an Xposed module but there's definitely an app for that (if I got your question right)!
Take a look at LightFlow. With that app you can define custom notifications sounds, vibration patterns and LED colors for each notification. I'm using it since about 2 years and had no problem whatsoever with it, I highly recommend it.
Take a look at LightFlow. Does exactly what you are trying to achieve, also let's you customize the notification LED (if your device has one).
I've been using it for years now and never experienced any problem with it.
I use LightFlow to set up custom vibrations. This works really well and you don't even need root.
You just have to disable the notifications in the app you're using, so your phone does not vibrate twice.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
I used to use Light Flow (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en -- there's also a free version), and it had this feature plus a LOT more. I have not used it in a while, but I would look into it. It was pretty cool for managing notifications, not just LED control, as the name touts.
Have you tried apps like Light Flow?
It seems to have a sleep setting
Light Flow lets you customize a lot of the blinking LEDs. Simply put, install it and GO NUTS!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en
If you use light flow, it can be anything with a notification LED. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
lightflow but it requires root.
The stock OS does not support this, but you can get it with an app such as Light Flow.
It's Light Flow.
Linkme: Light Flow.
EDIT: Screw you Linkme - - here's the link to the app: Light Flow
Light flow, used it for years for this and it's great.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
If your phone has an LED use this
I rooted primarily to use Light Flow to control notification LEDs.
If the app does not support notification channels and does not provide in-app option to disable vibration, then you will have to resort to a third party app. This might work - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en (You could first try with the free version), or you can use this Tasker plugin - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autonotification&hl=en_IN to fine tune notifications for any app. Tread carefully though with the latter. If something goes wrong, it might take a factory image flash to get things back to normal.
Not completely on topic but Lightflow is a great app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en
I use Light Flow Pro. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
You can also use an app like lightflow to customize the lighting for any app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
IIRC light flow can also do notif sound customization
I like Light Flow.
Light Flow does this, I use it on my GS4.
PebbleMe: Lightflow
Edit: not a pebble app, an android app. My bad. Link below.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
No idea about the Mate20 but on my P20 Pro I use Lightflow
Try Lightflow. It controls sounds and LEDs for notifications.
You could consider using Light Flow for your LED issue https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
Not a direct answer, but I really like Light Flow for stuff like this.
lightflow works for me. I'm able to my green and magenta and all the other colors I use.
Lightflow does all sorts of that stuff - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en_GB
LightFlow can customize notifications based on content, although I believe only in the paid version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
You could use Light Flow
Install 'Lightflow', it allows you to customize the hell out of it. Doesn't require root either.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en
That's the reason I got Light Flow :o
I use LightFlow for my notifications, but that is for the RGB led on the front of the N6P but i love it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en
Just asking because I use this app for custom coloured notifications :) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en_GB
Lightflow paid version.
Try light flow it should hopefully work, give it a look, because reminders and my led are necessary because I set quite a few with OK Google and I'd like it to notify me in any way possible
