I work at IFTTT and I read this subreddit all the time! We're not too big of a team, just around 30 at the moment. We don't have a public list of upcoming Channels, but the best way to let us know what Channels you want is by submitting them at this link.
EDIT: DISREGARD I SUCK COCKS. Unless you wanted to install Pushbullet. In that case, proceed to step one.

Full story; I'm trying to connect my LG Smart Thinq washing machine to IFTTT. But when I try to connect I get "Device does not match region settings. Change region settings." I'm in Australia and the URL is us.m.lgaccount.com. Even using a VPN or changing to au doesn't let me through. I can use the Smart Thinq app, but I want to do more.
I was reconnected with Micel who wasn't any more help.
>Micel: What do you mean by IFTTT?
>
>Dylan: If This Than That. It's a service that connects smart things. LG does have a service with them https://ifttt.com/lg_washer
>
>Micel: I apologise for the inconvenience it may have caused you. It is not available in Australia. What you can use is LG Smart ThinQ application.
>
>Dylan: Is there any work to make it available in other regions? Yes, I have that setup. But I was looking at doing more with it.
>
>Micel: LG customises products for each country Dylan and IFTTT is not compatible with our products.
>
>Dylan: So it doesn't work in the US as well? Why have a service if it doesn't work?
>
>Micel: I cannot guarantee if it will work in USA because we only support Australia and NZ.
>
>Dylan: So you don't know if there's work to make it available, or there isn't any?
>
>Micel: It is a third party application Dylan. LG develops Smart thinQ and rest assured that it is working in our products. It will not work with our products in Australia.
I've tweeted LGUSSupport So I'm hoping they will be more help.
Yes:
Edit: BTW, I found this by searching for 'reddit' on ifttt.com. You don't even lazy properly.
It's actually a public recipe: https://ifttt.com/recipes/93724-turn-on-my-lights-at-sunset?z=1100922
Totally cool. I especially love when guests point it out. "Did your lights just turn on?" "Of course they did. It's sunset. Do yours not?"
On YouTube, you can turn on notifications for specific channels that you subscribe to. Click the gear next to the "Subscribed" button, and check "Send me all notifications for this channel" and make sure you enable Email notifications. If you're a Gmail user, you can use a Gmail Trigger to send these notifications to the IF Notifications Channel. This would work: https://ifttt.com/recipes/158935-notify-me-when-a-new-gmail-arrived-from-a-specific-email-address
The only way I know to do these things is to have IFTTT trigger messages (probably emails) to a central server, and have that server look for the conjunctions and disjunctions of various criteria. It could then send a different type of message which IFTTT recognizes, to trigger the actual action.
However, there are obvious problems:
complicated, so it'll be too much for many people to set up
fragile
latency would be significantly higher
more difficult to administer than an integrated system
But I don't think IFTTT is targeting the complex end of actions at this time. Who knows, though, maybe they'll scale up development and branch out into new features with their latest $30M of investment capital.
They do mention "The Channel Platform would allow third party developers to create their own channels for IFTTT." ... but when I've looked into that so far it wasn't a simple sign-up; I was going to have to contact them and make my case, which typically doesn't indicate a system that can cope with private "channels".
Edit: formatting. Oops.
So to sum it up:
nothing is really changing, if you don't want it to
the IFTTT team are changing Recipes to Applets, and instead, its going to be more advanced:
e.g. if this, then that, and that, and also that too, etc
e.g. If I share an Instagram post, also share it to Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr
Official post: https://ifttt.com/blog/2016/11/the-new-ifttt-is-here
rss feed to push bullet
https://ifttt.com/connect/feed/pushbullet
While they would like you to use a smartphone, you can just install the pushbullet browser extensions for chrome or firefox to get the same result.
Pushbullet also lets you do all kinds of notification things directly to the browser with the extension installed, even without Ifttt.
I basically use it as an ifttt extension lite.
That's just another sucker punch. See the "fine print" (not really fine print, they just came out and stated it on the announcement page):
"We believe that Pro’s price of $9.99 per month is money well spent. However, because Pro is new and will evolve in response to your feedback, we wanted to provide some payment flexibility. Our introductory set your own pricesubscription allows you to choose your monthly payment for the first year of Pro. This special offer expires in 4 weeks, on Wednesday, October 7th."
And this appears to have been posted day one unless they have revised the page. Which would be another stupid move for the users that already read it.
I have this recipe for the toll roads. It searches the account @tolltagtidbits for "accident" OR "closed" and then gives me a push notification. That's all you need to do for the trigger.
accident OR closed from:tolltagtidbits
But replace the search operators and "from:" with the account you're listening for. All done!
>The Spotify Channel makes it easy to find the right music for every moment — on your phone, laptop, tablet and more.

Try this recipe; note that it requires Pushbullet, though you could easily change the THAT to email or text or what have you.
https://ifttt.com/recipes/278181-new-giveaway-on-r-vaping
You may need to create more than one to include all of the search terms but I just duplicated the IF recipe for pushing a note when a new SwagCode is posted in /r/swagbucks.
You can set a time to send a notification to your phone, then you send the text yourself. But I don't think it can be sent automatically based on time and location.
Edit
This may be the closest thing to what you're looking for.
Try this IFTTT recipe: Text my wife when I leave work https://ifttt.com/recipes/158448?z=4137340
Simple one i do is link my Instagram likes to a Dropbox folder. I make this folder my desktop background so it is constantly changing.
Try this IFTTT recipe: Liked IG to Dropbox https://ifttt.com/recipes/217953
Note: you need to install the android ifttt app.
Not sure on if iphones can do it too.
Go here https://ifttt.com/my_applets
If you want to go here often:
Now when you click Home, it will take you to the My Applets page.
Now after you have it set this way, you can’t get to the My Services page without manually going to ifttt.com. Why they changed to this, I have no idea. It’s very poor design.
👋 — you're right, IFTTT doesn't offer a Facebook Messenger service... yet. Would you be interested in beta testing a FB Messenger service when we get around to it? Shoot me a DM with your IFTTT username and I'll add you to our beta list. (I work on the product team at IFTTT btw).
In the meantime, you could try any of these other messaging services on IFTTT: https://ifttt.com/search/query/Communication
I don't mean to be rude, but this is an uninformed comment. DM's are available to developers via Twitter's API, so any developer (including IFTTT) who had access to a user's account via OAuth (which would be you once you connected the channel) can get that account's direct messages.
With that said, the IFTTT twitter channel does not actually do this enabling them -- go to https://ifttt.com/twitter and click on the little link for "twitter triggers and actions". You won't see any that involve DM's. Unfortunately I don't see this on Zapier either.
There may be other services out there you could cobble together, or get a hacker to build this for you as a one-off.
From looking at the channels it looks like the normal SMS channel only allows you to send messages to yourself (as you found out). The Android SMS channel allows you to send messages to any phone number. So by the looks of it it seems like you're out of luck with an iOS device.
However saying there is this recipe that has 3,900 adds so it seems like it might work. It'll be worth giving it a go anyway. Let me know what happens!
And there is also this page regarding iOS location and SMS channels. Hopefully it'll help.
If you use Plex, then I highly suggest a trigger like this one. I have Plex setup on my TV and all my YT subscriptions (that I actually want to see) setup with triggers, so I can just sit down and watch them all on the couch, playing through automatically. It's so nice.
Rather than IFTTT there is an alternate openvpn client for Android that does what you're asking. I actually have mine setup the opposite. I connect to openvpn anytime it connects to a WiFi network I haven't "whitelisted"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.colucciweb.openvpn
Edit: forgot to mention there is a free version though I don't know if it supports autoconnect.
This is better suited for Tasker if you're on Android. IFTT is not suited for IF/AND conditions.
Any reason you can't just set a regular alarm that says "Leave for the bus in 2 minutes!" ?
Here are the options available for Google Assistant (which is what Google Home uses): https://ifttt.com/google_assistant/details
Just my $0.02 but I think for automation Alexa is a lot better as google does not currently allow outside triggers for their routines. Google is much better at understanding what I mean though so better for questions and more friendly for other household members to use.
> For a limited time, you may set your price for IFTTT Pro and we will honor it indefinitely. All subscriptions are in US$ and renew monthly.
https://ifttt.com/subscriptions/pro
~~HOWEVER, it's NOT $1.99, the minimum is now $3.99.~~
~~I also wonder if, lets say, I purchase 1 month, and I cancel after that, in a years time, will I be able to get it at that same $3.99 price? I doubt it.~~
Edit:
It's available at $1.99. The first price listed on the website is $3.99, hence why I missed it at first.
If you ever cancel your membership, it'll go back to full price. I assume it's $9.99.

Yahoo! Pipes, that's a blast from the internet past! We can at least guarantee that Yahoo did not sell Pipe management to us. :) It does look like you have an IFTTT account connected to your Twitter and Instagram accounts though, you should be able to log in to https://ifttt.com and manage your Applets there.
Sure,
Have them install IFTTT on their phone.
Go to https://ifttt.com/create
for "this" select Location and "if exiting an area". Define the area on the map and create the trigger.
for "that" select android sms or gmail or some other messaging service and fill in the details as per the service.
Create the action and that should send an sms/email etc to you when that phone leaves the location specified.

Cheers
Liam
No, Google Assistant is staying on IFTTT. We're still in the process of working out with Google on how the ecosystem will look after the Works With Nest program is shut down at the end of August, but it will most certainly involve Google Assistant.
Yeah, I’m basically confirming this.
For this to be possible, you’d need to be a programmer, such as in Python or Ruby or the like. And then you’d need to code a custom code thing that would trigger a webhook IFTTT applet that did the lights thing. And that all would all depend on there being an online service of some sort that could tell your code when the fight begins or ends.
So yeah: Not really possible unless you happen to have all of those things lined up.
IFTTT applets can only be turned on and off with human fingers. However, if you mean, can Alexa trigger IFTTT applets, the answer is yes. Direct triggers are listed at the bottom of this page:
If you want to trigger an applet from an Alexa routine, it has to be done through Stringify:
At least two triggers run an applet immediately - Do Button and Note Widget. For example:
For many other applets it may make no sense to run immediately. IFTTT’s design is such that it waits for events to happen at a source. The source then provides information to IFTTT that triggers an applet to run. If you try to run it now and no event has happened at the source, then nothing will happen with your applet. (That’s a common reason nothing happens when you press Check Now.)
What trigger are you using?
kick the bot, turn off the applet, or delete the applet entirely.
to disconnect entirely (all telegram interactions) log in to ifttt on their site and go to telegram settings and click "disconnect" at the bottom.
Hello! I assume you’re referring to signing in to your IFTTT account (which is associated with your Google account) when you’re inside the WeMo app. We’re going to look into how to improve this.
I’m the meantime, add a password to your account (https://ifttt.com/forgot), and then sign in with your email address and password in the WeMo app instead of choosing Google. Hope that helps!
This is really a handy feature. Also, technically, other people can send you a VoIP call in round-about ways. For example:
Buttons can send VoIP calls - I’ve got an elderly relative set up with a Logitech Pop button that sends a VoIP call when she needs assistance from another elderly relative who might be sleeping (the VoIP call is more likely to wake them than a text msg :)
The big thing lacking is being able to send a VoIP call to family or friends who are also IFTTT users (not unlike Alexa letting family and friends “drop in” on you if you’ve granted them permission to do so).
Is this an applet that you made yourself? If so, did you make it through the platform.ifttt.com interface? You might be able to add filter code there that adjusts the title.
If this is an applet that someone else made, can you post a link to it? There seem to be no end of applets that do the same thing and have thousands of users. For example:
Seems like one of them has got to work :)
Use Stringify. Stringify lets you specify a time before or after sunset in 15-minute increments. For example, 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes before sunset. If Stringify doesn't have the action you want, have Stringify call IFTTT. Here is an example of an IFTTT applet triggered one hour before sunset by Stringify.
Okay, I guess I found it confusing that the link in the picture that I posted took me to my applet that I was most recently viewing. Instead I think it should have taken me here:
https://ifttt.com/maker_webhooks
Which is a page that I couldn't find until I searched google for "ifttt maker"
Hey OP, do the following in case anything else doesn't work, and you really want this to happen.
Install a custom OS on your router, like openwrt. Then assign a fixed IP on the DHCP on your router. Then have a script to ping the fixed IP address assigned to your phone every couple seconds.
Then, in case the ping is successful (which can only happen if your phone is connected to the wifi) after not being successful for a while (or set up time specific scripts) - you can directly activate IFTTT webhook from the router.
Again, this is hacky so do this only in case other options don't work. And thought this will be useful for something who are okay with doing the work.
edit: I realized that in many cases you don't even need to flash it with a new OS. Just look up the model number of your router, and search for ways to get in. Chances are, there's busybox running ready to accept telnet or ssh connections. You can just set up the script once you get in.
The IFTTT Maker channel would be your best option.
You could make a basic app, or even a local webpage which simply send an HTTP request to IFTTT Maker using your API key and pass different value, which can trigger an action. https://ifttt.com/channels/maker/triggers/1636368624-receive-a-web-request
When did they rename from "Channel" to "applet"?
That aside:
you have to download the IF app, then just create a recipe on ifttt.com (easier on computer web browser than phone for me) and look up the battery channel, or got to this link https://ifttt.com/android_battery
hit new recipe, then select the android battery channel, then choose the "drops below 15%" option, and then hit create trigger
then in action, search channels for hue and pick the option you want (all lights on, etc...) and customize the brightness, color etc and voila!
If you are using Android, yes! Combine the Date &Time Channel (https://ifttt.com/date_and_time) with the Android Device Channel's music action (in https://ifttt.com/android_device). The music actions will use the default (user-preferred) music app!
You could do this with DO Note (https://ifttt.com/recipes/311313-fastest-way-to-add-a-song-to-a-playlist).
DO Button gets fields like location, but it doesn't currently input a field ingredient for currently playing song.
Yep that's why I suggested it, IFTTT works with a couple of these if you check https://ifttt.com/channels in the connected home section Wink and WeMo come to mind.
You can link them up to an IF or Do recipe as needed. :)
Came here to say the same, did you watch the video on their website http://bt.tn/ , they've got 7+ people working on this, it's a button, with a wifi chip, what's the deal? :/
See the comments on https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8263007 as well
I know this isn't exactly what you were after, but I believe this is the best you can do right now (also only works if you use Android, though I'm sure there is an iOS version out there).
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/turn-pc-android-phone-wakeonlan/
I've been wanting this for a while: Add new Google Calendar events to Office 365 Calendar. Too bad you can't do the opposite.
I haven't figured out exactly what to do with this yet, but...
The Maker channel gives me a more-useful access point to IFTT from my Amazon Echo, via the Amazon Echo HA Bridge. The existing Amazon Alexa triggers are very vague and interfere with normal usage of the device, but the Maker channel allows the syntax "Alexa, turn [on/off] [device name]" to be a dedicated IFTTT trigger.
You need to have an IFTTT channel for the email provider or email client you use. Gmail is the only one currently available, AFAIK.
The Email channel is for email communication with IFTTT, but it can't control your personal email activity.
Try suggesting your email provider (Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, AOL, etc.) or your email client (Mail.app, Mailbox, etc.) to IFTTT.
Any chance your weather notification came from the "Get notified when the seasons change on Mars" Recipe? https://ifttt.com/recipes/248988 :)
If there's any way we can help, we'd love an opportunity to troubleshoot with you.
My favorite Dropbox recipe is remotely downloading torrents using this recipe.
I just find the torrent I want and my computer at home will start torrenting based on what's in my torrents folder on my dropbox account. I'm working on figuring out a way to detect barcodes scanned from shopsavvy, parsing out movie titles, finding a torrent, and downloading it, but this works for now.
Have you looked at https://www.slice.com/ ? They have a IFTTT channel that works quite well for package tracking.
I have it set up to put delivery dates on my Google calendar and notify me when the status of a package has changed.
It's not directly possible, but Home Assistant has a trick to fake it. Basically Home Assistant can use Google's TTS engine to convert any text you want to an MP3. It then casts that MP3 to the Google Home. The Home plays it like it's a song.
This is how I've utilized IFTTT to manage redundant communications across some the social media for my project.
My IFTTT recipes are completely simple but utilized in a logical way are very effective.
The project, SURE HOUSE, is an entrant in the Department of Energy Solar Decathlon competition for sustainable home building. One of the decathlon contests is communications, effectively and consistently delivering our message.
Thanks for the feedback here. There are some Recipes where shared locations are very useful, like my When you arrive in New York City, send yourself a map of the subway Recipe for example.
What is MixRadio?
Imagine a radio station that seems to always know the music you want to hear. Enter MixRadio: a music app that personalizes mixes to suit your tastes. The more you listen, the more personal your listening experience becomes. All this for free, without the hassle of signing up or the interruption of ads.
<strong>IFTTT Channel</strong>
/r/IFTTT's favourite recipes:
Anybody got any?
I believe the IFTTT apps for Android and iOS use the phone's services to work. Like location, SMS, calendar, etc. You should see it ask for permissions to those services when you install it. So your phone would definitely need to be on for any of those triggers to work.
As for why your recipes fail to trigger, you might want to check the logs. https://ifttt.com/logs
I don't see why not. I do something similar but it adds it to my todo.txt in dropbox instead. I'll check this out.
EDIT: Here. Although you may want to play with the formatting and the directories.
Mine. I like it because I like to know what's up with news/postings in /r/Michigan, but usually will miss posts.
This adds a row to a Google spreadsheet and notifies me when there's a new post in /r/Michigan. It could also be used to keep tabs on any other less busy subreddit.
Sorry to hear about the trouble, @Library_Lad! When deactivating an IFTTT Channel, all related Personal Recipes are indeed deleted. To avoid this, next time go with "Edit Channel" which will reactivate your Channel, leaving your Personal Recipes intact.
That said, it sounds like you're hitting something on the Instagram side. If you continue to have trouble, definitely let us know: https://ifttt.com/help
Obviously, nobody's gonna talk about future plans.
But, I'm curious and want to hear what you have in mind.
something like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.playconsole
but for platform.ifttt.com?
If you're on an Android device, Tasker might be better suited to what you're after.
If on iPhone... that I'm not sure about.
You could accomplish this using SharpTools and Tasker. SharpTools is an app I developed dedicated to integrating SmartThings with Tasker (and creating widgets).
You can subscribe to events by long pressing on a device in SharpTools and subscribing to a desired attribute. From there, you can use the Thing State plugin in Tasker to react to those events.
Here's a tutorial with more details, including a video walking through the steps (with the old UI):
Yahoo Pipes used to be able to do that but it was shuttered a couple of years ago. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/12-best-yahoo-pipes-alternatives-look/ lists some alternatives although I've not used any of them. Will involve a third-party service of some kind.
Documentation for IFTTT is lacking so it's always trial and error. What is the value when it goes back to schedule from override? Also, what is your understanding of what value it should be?
Maybe also take a look at the trigger "Thermostat enters Smart Home/Away" (could create another trigger and log the values to a spreadsheet).
If this is not what you are looking for then reach out to IFTTT support and they should be able to get you knowledge of what you can and cannot use within a business week (my experience).
There's a Facebook applet that does the same thing, and there's also one for Pinterest. All you should need for either of those to work is your blog's RSS feed, which you can probably get by just adding /feed/
to the end of your blog's URL (if it's Wordpress, which seems likely).
I'm not really in a position to give you any deeper technical support than that, but good luck with it!
Yeah, there isn't really good way to contact them and their Contact Us page is pretty much useless. Customer Support is also one of the things they lock behind the paid tiers and even then pretty much all I can find is to get help with applets not working
If you use the google sheets action it's very easy to do. I use the Google Assistant with Text Ingredient to then write to the google sheet (adds a new row) to do something similar. The Formatted Row in my sheets action is
CreatedAt|||TextField
where
Let me know if that helps.
I get weird random delays with IFTTT, anywhere from a few seconds to nearly 5 minutes.
If you're not comfortable messing with the internal electronics, and can't just have it "always on" and controlled via a smart outlet, then consider something like a SwitchBot.
The Android service does not let you manipulate mobile data.
The applet you linked is not what it says, it's trigger is connect to specific wifi and the action is to send an IFTTT notification.
See here: https://ifttt.com/applets/wNg6QuxM/edit
From what I read 3-4 years ago, since Android 6 you can't make any app to change your mobile data status without rooting your device.
Tasker or Automate are the other options to try.
It depends on the IFTTT app you are using, I was using RSS to Twitter by wesferrell intitally playing with IFTTT handling my RSS to Tweets, that was pretty responsive, certainly within about an hour as memory served. I then crafted my own IFTTT's which would give the the benefit of adding appropriate hashtags and text to the tweet. Pretty quick to set up, just create an RSS trigger and point it to your feed url, tell it to post a tweet, edit the tweet making sure to leave {{EntryTitle}} {{EntryUrl}} and add hashtags as required, enjoy :)
Hi! As /u/mwhahaharun suggested, I tried combining IFTTT with Macrodroid. It worked SO well, that I have bought the "pro" version of Macrodroid!! Macrodroid is almost as powerfull than Tasker, but MUCH easier to use (at least for us that are no programmers)
Instead of using SMS, I use IFTTT's Android app "Notification" service (https://ifttt.com/if_notifications) creating a notification with a keyword when something happens: IF (something) THEN "notification #keyword"
Then, using Macrodroid, I wait for a Notification from app IFTTT containing my keyword, and use Macrodroid's "TTS" function to speak something.
Done! That way I skip the SMS lag (and low reliability of SMS messages in Mexico).
Thanks again, marking as solved.
OK, in the "Location" services there are only 3 options:
"Invoxia Tracier": " This product is not available in your country "
"Location": I use this on my Android, but it can't trigger when all of us are home. Maybe I could try an integration using "location" on all family phones to trigger a variable in "apilio"... Thanks, let me think about it.
"Maxreminder": For german telephone users only (as far as I undestand, since the site is in german).
There used to be another one, in spanish, called "dondeesta", but it's not working anymore (the domain is for sale). https://ifttt.com/connect/dondeesta/location
I'll try to use "Location" combined with another service... thans again!
Great suggestions.
Check out the ifttt.com/nano_lol service - it's for $NANO. You could potentially use the RSS Feed, Twitter, NY Times, and Google News services to get cryptocurrency news from there too.
You can publish Applets on the website: platform.ifttt.com
Let us know what services and companies you'd like to see on IFTTT. We take suggestions and are adding new services all the time. If you have Pro, you can contact us directly. Or you can always post on Reddit or on Twitter. Our Twitter DMs are open.
Gah...forgot I asked this question. I should have posted back here.
For some reason I don't totally understand, I was able to get it working again.
I did it through the website and believe I had to re-link my account here:
After I did that, I was able to go back in and create new recipes to control the lights.
Googled "contact IFTTT" and this came up: https://ifttt.com/contact
Looks like there are several options and if you click the "help" button on the right it even lets you email them. Personally I'd do twitter but its up to you...
Really glad to hear that.
Question: Are the IFTTT reddit applets like this one created by the IFTTT team or someone from the Reddit team?
Originally the price was going to revert to $9.99/month after the first year. About a week after the announcement, they changed it so that whatever price you picked prior to the October 7 cutoff date would be the permanent price. At the bottom of this page it says > Not a Pro? If you subscribe by October 7th, you can set your own price which we’ll honor indefinitely.
Hey u/Monstructs — wanted to jump in and add a little context.
Different services and products that work with IFTTT may "sunset" for a variety or reasons. Each are unique, whether it's older hardware that isn't supported or API endpoints that expire. It's always up to the service and product company, themselves.
For D-Link, in particular, their mydlink service on IFTTT will continue to be supported beyond 2020. Though some of their legacy products are reaching their end of life and will not have as much support as they once did. Here's some more information about on TechHive.
I hope this is helpful information about a product you may own. Thanks for using IFTTT. 🙌
Did you check My Applets specifically? That's what you should see by default under https://ifttt.com/home if you are logged in. IFTTT keeps making UI changes that can make it difficult to find My Applets if it doesn't pop up by default.
Yup, me too lol.
I had to turn off
>This Applet will send you an email when the IFTTT Blog (ifttt.com/blog) publishes a post that's tagged as an update. To get an email when there's any new blog post, try this Applet: https://ifttt.com/applet
which ironically didnt work but i get the emails from iftt directly for news anyway
Yeah that page is the same as the mail I received, thanks for posting a link. Though it seems more like an announcement / blog post.
Normal users will likely visit their applets page and see the prompt to upgrade there. This links to both of these pages: https://ifttt.com/pro https://ifttt.com/subscriptions/pro
Neither of these pages mention that the custom price only lasts a year, nor link to an article that does. You can't and shouldn't expect users to look up the "buts" to an agreement in other places than where they can "sign" the agreement. Fine prints wouldn't exist if companies could get away with stuff like that.
Unfortunately it's well clear in https://ifttt.com/explore/introducing_ifttt_pro and I'd say pretty much every communication they've done. It could be more clear for sure, but it's there.
"Our introductory set your own price subscription allows you to choose your monthly payment for the first year of Pro. This special offer expires in 4 weeks, on Wednesday, October 7th."
You're right.
https://ifttt.com/explore/introducing\_ifttt\_pro
We believe that Pro’s price of $9.99 per month is money well spent. However, because Pro is new and will evolve in response to your feedback, we wanted to provide some payment flexibility. Our introductory set your own pricesubscription allows you to choose your monthly payment for the first year of Pro. This special offer expires in 4 weeks, on Wednesday, October 7th.
Hey u/jonbrussell. One of our Co. values is Always learning, so all feedback — especially from a user's experience with our product — is valuable towards improving our work.
Our mission for Pro is to invest a lot more of our company resources into building powerful, user-friendly tools for Applet creators. Something, candidly, we have not been doing for the last few years while focused on our IFTTT for Business solutions. If we can't make Pro better, faster, and worth your $ every month, then we're not accomplishing what we set out to do with it.
We hope today marks a positive step towards that goal (despite some of the challenges of our rollout 😅).
Appreciate you and the IFTTT community for giving us a shot back when you signed up and again today with Pro. 🙌
u/maully Would you expand on that a little bit or provide a link to an example? I just tried to use predefined recipes (example) but I kept getting a vague error "There was a problem saving this connection". I tried creating my own and twitter doesn't show up as an action service for me.
this app is not working https://ifttt.com/applets/100496390d-if-new-tweet-by-specific-user-then-tweet-the-text-automatically-to-your-twitter-accounti enter the twitter handle i want to follow
Never tried it, but there are applets that claim to do this. For example, some are listed in this Google search:
That link was generated by this applet:
You ca write IFTTT filter code (JavaScript/TypeScript) to limit the time of day when an applet’s action happens using sample code like this:
However, waits/delays are nonexistent in IFTTT. Eg, there’s no way to turn on a light, wait 5 minutes, and then turn the light off. In the past, the easy way to get that done was to use Stringify between two IFTTT applets. Now that Stringify is shutting down, IFTTT’s in a world of hurt where timing is concerned 😢
See this post with some discussion of some not so pretty wait/delay options in IFTTT:
NeilKelly: I thought about that... not sure it fits. I was hoping that on my way home, I could check on a build that I was waiting for and (in hands free mode) in my car ask GA for "ok google, ask slack last build for <project>" and have it wait for the response. Seeing as I have a 45-60 minute commute, it would free up some time when I got home.
NeilKelly: What I read in your response is: i use GA to submit the question to the bot via voice, and another to post the data to IFTTT in response. From what I have read about GA in voice mode, if I want it to "read" the response, I need to do something in the applet. (i.e. in some of them, you have a "what is the trigger", "what is another trigger", "what is the response" paradigm, such as https://ifttt.com/applets/bVwFeq3B-custom-response-from-google-home ). Unless I am understanding something incorrectly, the data to IFTTT via webhook would not be able to convey the answer to GA in voice mode.

Ideally, I would have the slack bot use the "reply" feature and have the IFTTT slack applet wait up to 10 seconds for a reply. Second best would be to wait for the same duration for the next thing to be said to the channel by a given app, in this case, the slack bot.

Does this make sense?
https://ifttt.com/applets/193786p-website-update-notifications
I'd start with just a notification that the page changed. You can log in to see what changed. It would probably take a lot more to watch the exact elements that changed but this would be a simple start.
This is like swatting a fly with a cannon, but it works and has comments to tell you what to change:
From the looks of it, you should only have to modify the time and the skip method used for Smart Life.
The same problem here, with https://ifttt.com/applets/PKHcd4D8-set-light-to-cyan-when-it-s-about-to-rain?term=cyan and any other color change features. Turing on and off works good. Though it changes the color for about 0.5 secs then switching back to the setting before.
Follow up - I ran across what we need. Just tested it and it works well. All hashtags at the end of the IG comment will be removed when reposting to twitter and/or facebook. If you still want some hashtags reposted, you can put them anywhere that's not at the end of the caption. Works for what I wanted.
u/Einko, I found this. https://ifttt.com/applets/457938p-add-saved-songs-to-playlist?term=saved%20songs I tested this and it works, just make sure you are logged into Spotify on IFTTT, go into configure and change the playlist name to your target playlist (just to be safe, make sure the caps are correct, I dunno if it's case sensitive).
If you want to limit the time of day when an applet runs, you have two choices. One, use IFTTT filter code. For example:
Two have IFTTT call Stringify to handle timing:
This offers more options than filter code.
The Do Button is a trigger service only as per bottom of this page:
An incoming webhook goes to a webhook trigger that causes an action to run. So, why not just make an applet that has webhooks as a trigger and use the same action as you Do Button applet?
Not possible with IFTTT. It goes against how these kind of apps work - they generally wait for data to be sent to them and do not query data. In this case, the data would be temperature changes. So, if one of the temperatures changed, say the outside temperature, there’s nothing for IFTTT to compare it to since it doesn’t go read something else to find your inside temperature.
This kind of comparison really needs to be done by a thermostat. For example, my Nest knows both inside and outside temp, but Nest doesn’t offer a trigger in IFTTT for when one drops below the other :(
Update: The Ecobee triggers are At the bottom of this page:
No inside>outside, etc, even though it knows both temps.
Hey! Yes you can do that with IFTTT! You may have to create an Applet to get exactly what you want. Here are a few similar Applets on IFTTT:
