There is actually a nice app for this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.technoloid.barometer
Works the same way, but you know, you don't have to press all those long numbers everytime you want to check.
I like the media viewer small app, allows me to view images/videos (even from URLs) on a floating small app Media Viewer Small App.
I rarely use the actual power button anymore. You could try turning on double "Tap to wake up" in Display options. Then I use a custom action in Nova Launcher to launch Screen Off and Lock so that double tapping the screen when it's awake makes it go to sleep.
Sure.
What we're doing here is basically installing a DualRecovery. (TWRP, CWM, Philz Touch Recovery) http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056
This allows us to make nandroid backups, flash custom ZIPs etc.
What we still can't do however, with the locked bootloader is
We can however modify the stock kernel to our heart's content with root (with tools such as Kernel Adiutor.)
Xposed works as it should, allowing you to flash the modules/updates in recovery, along with any other flashable zips that may modify the system, with root.
It works as intended and does basically all I want thanks to Xposed.
I've read elsewhere that having the T-Mobile Name ID app disabled is the cause of the dialer contact photo problem.
I re-enabled T-Mobile Name ID, cleared data for it as well as Contacts and Contact Storage, allowed the phone to re-sync all my contacts, and I still get the orange calling screen instead of the contact photo. Not sure what else to try short of factory resetting, which I'm not going to do over something so trivial. Blah.
I only did the update yesterday, though. So maybe the "wait a few days for them to show up" route is the one I should take for now.
Edit: I just installed QuiCall Dialer, and it's pretty neat. Also gives me the contact photo. :)
Check this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quicinc.trepn
Start a CPU profiler for a few minutes and look what apps hog your cpu.
Also, you can turn on stamina with CPU underclock option turned on.
For anyone wondering, I have been able to find [free] ways to connect my iTunes library with Google Play Music and my iPhoto photo stream to my Xperian z3 without the help of the Sony Bridge software. But it is still super frustrating that I can't get the Xperian to recognize my Mac, I may have to call their customer service to figure it out cause nothing I have done is working at all.
As far as I know the app has to support a controller, if it doesn't you're stuck.
for example, check games developed using Unity Engine, they have controller remapping ability in settings.
I may be wrong or I may be right. Pray that I am right!
Are you rooted? I'm using the 20MP Superior Auto Xposed module which boots me straight into 20MP and I can switch to 15.5 or 8 if necessary. Definitely look into it, as it is such a relief not having to go into manual mode everytime!
This is actually the reason I ended up replacing my z3 after just barely a year. The D6166 is the only z3 model that can't unlock the bootloader and it was abandoned for updates very quickly (other models at least got 6.0).
Since TMobile is GSM, you should check Amazon for unlocked devices since they tend to be cheaper than financing in the long run (assuming $2-300 up front is doable). Something like the Moto G5 Plus should be pretty decent without crippling your bank account.
I have the Devilcase (https://www.amazon.com/Devilcase-Z3-Aluminum-Protective-Bumper/dp/B00SUVCTOG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1471616963&sr=8-4&keywords=devilcase+z3). It's a bit pricey, but after replacing a cracked screen once, as well as loose ports due to USB charging, I only use the magnetic charging port now. It takes a little longer than USB, but you can also watch movies while charging. It's worth it.
Thanks for the reply! I appreciate it! I am worried that I am gonna crack it haha I have a very good track record for not cracking/breaking phones, and my 5s got cracked a month or so ago : ( I got this case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OPW1SD2/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I cant wait to be on android.. Iv been on iOS for too long.. any cool android tricks I should know about? Any ROMs you recommend or cool things you can do with the OS that I might not be aware of?
Thanks again!
Thanks for that info!
Question for you if you don't mind.
Which side of the device is that photo of, and what are the 2 little yellowish rectangles just to the left of the red oval?
Would this repair it?
I use the ArachnoGrip (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OAED7AW/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_8BuTvbRZ3HK89) wrapped around a wireless charging suction cup mount (can't find link, sorry) in my car and the Finn (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OU5TR14/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_oJuTvbAP5DRM2) on my bike.
This one has access to the port but it covers the back. You can get it in clear though
I've only used one pair of earbuds with it. They're fairly inexpensive Sony headphones, so I kinda expected them to not have issues. (As an aside, they are really nice headphones for their price.) I have used it plugged into my car's AUX port, as well as with the speaker system we have at work. In all 3 cases, sound output is significantly lowered.
These are the cheap ones that I bought, my largest complaint is that they're too light, the magnet is strong enough that I frequently pick up both the phone and dock.
It's got adapters to hold just the phone or just phone and case.

Download QuickPic and forget about the sony album. QuickPic is easily the best photo soft for Android, I did that for my Z3.

That's really weird! I assume you've updated all google apps (especially Play services is very important from what I understand) That reminds me, do you have the newest webview (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview)? Apps might use that to view stuff, I don't know.
Also, if you're willing to do a full wipe again, try repairing it using Sony's PC Companion program, that way you can be certain you get the right image and stuff. Unless you're rooted and can't be bothered to reroot and stuff.
Best of luck!
