Is McAfee installed as system app on your device,
if yes,you can uninstall it, i don't think it's any good over play protect.
Edit: disabling is better solution cause some time uninstalling system apps can cause issues, disabled apps can be re-enabled to solve any occurrence of new problems.
But if you don't want to uninstall it, you can disable notifications for system app via this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff
It requires root access and can be uninstalled after disabling problem notification.
Hey /u/davidgro & /u/BetterPhoneRon - This was the post I made originally. Someone pointed out that if making a post I should post source code also. I just made this app over a weekend so code is not cleaned up yet to put on Github yet. In any case, here was my post:
Pitch: Notifications distract (me). For example: a Facebook comment, an email, a text message, a Whatsapp group with constant messages, etc. I do want to see these notifications, but just not instantaneously all the time. I tried to search for apps that hide notifications and saves them for me - I could not find any (found only this one but it needs root access).
So I made <strong>Hide Notifications Android App</strong> - no root access needed, works on all APIs from API Level 18 all the way to 22.
if you are rooted try this, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff&hl=en
in the app scroll down till you see the one called power, that will get rid of the notification
Just download this app to avoid that annoying update reminder. Wait it out.
I had to roll back my whole phone and lost almost everything in the process.
Use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff to disable all notifications, then put Anki in fullscreen mode. Then it will be hard to be distracted. Paper's algorithm is very unefficient, and if you have access to the Internet anyway, it won't do much to prevent you from getting distracted.
I use Notifications Off, which is a root app. you can create profiles and select which apps are allowed to send notifications in which profile.
I have a profile just to turn off Whatsapp, one to turn off all messengers and one to turn off all distracting apps ;)
Ah, I see what you're wanting. I don't know what version of Android you're on, but in the App settings menu, you should be able to turn off notifications for each app. So say you want to disable notifications for Hangouts, you open the Hangouts app in the Settings menu (or do the press and hold > App Info), uncheck/block notifications for that app.
I'm sure there's a way to set it up to automatically do it on a schedule with Tasker, but I'm not that knowledgeable of Tasker, so /r/Tasker might be the better place to ask about that.
There's also a root app called Notifications Off that is really easy to set up to accomplish the same thing.
You could try Notifications Off [Root] by itself or with tasker integration.
Let me know if that worked for you please - I'm not rooted so can't try it myself.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff
Dar trebuie rooted.
Cred ca poti sa dai disable si atunci cred ca toate aplicatiile ar avea access la tot ce vor ele...
Good thinking, I'll make a list and disable them each time I get new phone
would this app be using up ram too? It's root only https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff&hl=en
You can also use this app if you are rooted:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff&hl=en_GB
You set a profile in that and suppress whichever notifications you like. It has a Tasker plugin that allows you to switch on/off your different profiles.
I use Notifications Off, which is a root app. You can create profiles in which you select apps which are allowed to show notifications and which not.
I have several profiles;
I can highly recommend that. It also has a Tasker plugin, so you can automate stuff. I created a studying profile which disables all distracting Notifications, but I still get notifications for todos, calendar entries etc.
You can also create Tasker Profiles which turn all notifications off if you're in specific apps and will turn notifications on again if you leave them and much more
Unfortunately that's the only way I know of, and yeah it's a pain re-enabling all of them again ;____; maybe there's some kind of silencer app though? Like this? (I don't know it works, I just googled it)
You might have A.D.D. O.o
Lol I'm kidding, but check this out. It seems like the solution you're looking for, but it requires root.
I'm not 100% sure this will work but you can try it out:
Download <em>Notifications Off</em> from the play store and uncheck "system ui" from the list.
If you're rooted, try this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff
With Root it is possible: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff
Not sure if this still works but this is what I've used in the past: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff
So you have a few options:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/134tOs7-6X3vtDVw2GzMbBqAJRx8gZhYq/view?usp=drivesdk
1) Flash the above mod in TWRP
2) Use the Magisk Module (if you use Magisk). It is the same modified file: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603903635
3) Modify your own ims.apk: https://forum.xda-developers.com/yureka/development/mod-device-hd-capable-notification-t3551145
4) If you are Rooted you can use this App to disable the Notification: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff&hl=en
The ims.apk in the Flashable Zip and Magisk Module are the same and came from LOS16.0 on the OP3/T. It's the same as you have now but with the modifications to remove the Notification.
Whichever method you choose, always take a Nandroid Backup in TWRP before doing any modifications. Additionally you can always manually backup your existing ims.apk, found in /system/priv-app/ims
Hope that helps.
Sorry, been busy. So you have a few options:

BTW the flashable zip works perfectly.

Hope that helps.
Try this app then, it worked for me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff
I really don't know another way, sorry
I accomplished this using [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff] and Tasker
Check out Notifications Off
if you have root, is this better than this? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff
I use NotificationsOff to turn off notifications for WiFi Calling, so hopefully it works for you as well.
If you are rooted I highly recommend Notifications Off.
If you're rooted, you can get an app called Notifications Off to hide specific notifications.
