What is Reddit's opinion of Image 2 Wallpaper?

Use Image 2 Wallpaper (or some other image editor) to crop your image before applying the wallpapers. With a 18.5:9 aspect ratio there's no space to move.

The app also allows you to apply some colour and blur effects. For example having an undersaturated and blurred image turning into a clear one when you unlock the phone looks nice IMO.

As others said, the problem does not lie within the image file as the device you are using compresses the wallpaper for some reason. This app worked like a charm on my Tab A 8.0", hopefully it will do the same for yours.

I can't say for Nova as I use Apex, but the principle of setting wallpaper is surely the same ? I use a free app called Image 2 Wallpaper to set my wallpaper because it's quite versatile. I know its not the best ratio for phones but if you want it to size nicely for a wallpaper I would check out Image 2 Wallpaper on the play store.

It seems to mess up wallpapers -- probably because it thinks it's in portrait mode (the landscape orientation is a patch that's part of CleanROM). The solution to setting a wallpaper that looks correct is to use this little app. You can use it to resize the image appropriately as well, but the screen resolution on the XD Plus is 1280x720 so that size will work best. The "Center Wallpaper" option in Lawnchair has to be ON or else you get a weird black edge on the left side of the wallpaper.

I like Image 2 Wallpaper. It has a share intent so you can share an image from your Reddit app, a Web browser, etc. You can then crop, zoom, position, flip, etc. before setting.

Use this app to edit the image into the appropriate dimensions/proportions then turn off wallpaper scrolling on your desktop

Try Image2Wallpaper. Sets any image as an uncompressed wallpaper, with some options for cropping and positioning.

But most importantly, it skips the system's wallpaper setter, so I believe it'll work in your case.

it is one of the few that acts as a share target from Google Photos and then you can use it to set your wallpaper. ads are not as annoying as some others i have tried. (still not as quick or easy as directly setting a home page wallpaper direct from within the Google Photos app itself, sigh)

try using image 2 wallpaper, I forgot which settings to toggle in order to crop the image, it also sets wallpaper at a higher resolution since for some reason pixel launcher (or other launchers as well?) sets the wallpaper at a lower res

I suggest to use some wallpaper setter apps like this. Actually I faced similar problem on older device and I fixed it using that app.

As far as I know, you'll need to use an app to accomplish that. Image 2 Wallpaper is one I've used in the past. Not the prettiest interface but it get's the job done.

Just make sure you check if the app is available for your phone (on your app store search for something like "wallpaper sizer" or along those lines.

Do you have your launcher set to have scrolling wallpaper?

Because if that is the case then it has to do this so that there is some wallpaper to the right to scroll to.

Turn that setting off and it should center it.

Image 2 Wallpaper is what I used when I used to encounter this bug. Now I just have Muzei cycle through some nice images for me instead.

I assume you have an Android device so I'll recommend using Image 2 Wallpaper with the original picture.

The app I used to add the blur effect was: Image 2 Wallpaper.

It's really solid for adding slight effects and formatting wallpapers. Can't say I have any gripes with it yet.

Yeah, it sucks especially coming from a phone that you could set directly from Google Photos. Now you will have to download the photo from GPhotos, then look it up on the Gallery app (or some other app), then set it from there, then delete the downloaded photo. BUT... you can share the photo from GPhotos to a wallpaper setting app, which is what I do. Something like this:

If you're on Android, get the app Image2Wallpaper. It has a lot of customizations for strategically placing images on your background. If you're on iPhone... get an Android.
