Check out this app :)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.notquiteinsane.galaxybuttonlights2
It's called Galaxy Button Lights 2. It lets you set the duration the buttons are lit up for or you can disable them all together.
I don't think it's exactly what you were wanting/describing but maybe it will help! :)
Brain It On!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.orbital.brainiton
It's a great puzzler requiring you to draw objects and use physics to pull off certain objectives. It works with your fingertips but is much better with the s pen.
That was a feature of the Google Now Launcher
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.launcher&hl=en
Since Google published the Nexus's launcher onto the PlayStore, you're able to install it on the Note7 too
Chrooma keyboard for me. It's built off the AOSP keyboard so looks and works similarly to the Google Keyboard, but has a ton of really cool features built in. Like the keyboard changing color to match the app you're in, along with automatic night mode etc.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gamelounge.chroomakeyboard
On the sticker on the box mine says made in China and under the glass (can barely see it through the glass)on the lower portion of the back it says made in china
Edit: this app says where it was made also: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
This isn't offered by the device by default, but there's apps that can do this.
Try out Gravity Screen
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexnor.gravityscreenofffree
Here's some of its key features:
KEY FEATURES
• Pocket Sensor: Turns the screen off if your phone is in your pocket.
• Table Sensor: Detects your phone is lying on a table and turn it off if not in use.
• Turn Screen On by Motion: If the screen is off and it's facing up the device can be woken up by moving it.
• Keep Screen On by Motion: It keeps the screen on while you are watching the screen. It relies on the small movements of your hand while holding the device.
One of them sounds like the effect you want to achieve.
Try the app Home Button
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devjackey.homebutton
It has no user interface, so pressing it will immediately bring you to the home screen.
The screenshots on the page shows the intended way to use the app, by putting it in the SPen Floating Window or by putting it in the Edge Screen's App Panel.
Also, its impossible for an app to minimize the popup windows, because that action requires a real Home Button press. However, Android restricts developers from simulating a Home Button press, so all non-root developers use an alternative way which is to call the home screen to the surface. This is enough of a workaround, except in cases like this for minimizing windowed apps.
One can also use Firefox browser with the Ublock Origon (ad blocker) extension, along with HTTPS Everywhere extension. A Private Internet Access VPN account as well. Super quick and hassle free setup for a safe and ad free browsing experience.
On my old phone I used Parallel Space to run two accounts of various games. Worked well enough for me, but haven't used it in a while... very simple, you can just run an app you already have installed in a discrete/separate environment.
They say they have an incognito feature and you can keep things private, I'm not sure if this is something to be enabled or on all the time, as I never really paid attention. Also don't know if you can easily move videos/photos to it like you could on the Note 7. Give it a shot, I suppose, if you don't like it check out similar apps on the page, hopefully you find one you like.
Personally I switched to an S7E and use the "My Knox" feature... but I think that's a Samsung thing.
I see you solved it, but anyone using a "Screen Off + Lock" type of app will also cause the fingerprint or iris unlock not to work (you get the famous "Enter password instead of using biometric recognition because of security policy" message), and these "Screen off + lock" apps will lock the phone even if SmartLock would otherwise keep it unlocked. This is why Nova Launcher Lock action is not recommended, as it is using the same method.
The trick is to use a "Screen off" only app, instead of "Screen off + Lock". You will find that while there are 1000 "Screen off + Lock" apps, it is hard to find a "Screen off" only. One I can recommend is Screen off via short timeout which works reliably on the Note 7.
Helium backup: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup (full backup, no root needed! - but you will need a pc)
Even the free version works, but support the developer (Koush) because this app is really fills a gap in the world of unROOTable devices.
It does a complete backup of apps + app data, with the option of selective restore.
This is what Samsung's smart switch was supposed to do, but they of course failed. Samsung fails in everything software related :-(
How do you turn off the screen? This message appears if you use a screen off + lock app.
But there is a good workaround, it's an app called Screen off via short timeout. It's not free, but the cleanest solution I found to turn off the screen without locking the device. I mean the device will lock but you will be able to unlock it without using your pin or pattern.
It doesn't support multi window, but I really like SkectchBook.
Instead of multi window, what I have done is import an image and trace or move it to a corner of the picture and used as a reference. It supports layers so you can keep the picture on top of everything if you want it as a reference or behind everything if you want to trace it.
I'd also pick gestures as being one of the best features. For instance, I have my GPS apps in a single "bubble". You can touch it and it expands, showing all 5 apps. However, I have it set to run Waze if there's a finger slide.
You can also configure tricks like turning on the LED if you slide two fingers down, can have more icons at a bottom dock, etc. Little tweaks in functionality here and there, plus it is stable and fast (especially if you disable animations).
Nova Launcher is actually one of the very few apps I bought, along with Tasker.
I have to see what Samsung added in the Note 7, but unless it's very functional, I'll probably continue using Nova.
I have this case sitting on my desk ATM waiting for my Note7 to arrive. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HCH0GSE/ref=ya_st_dp_summary
It's pretty cheap, but I LOVE that kickstand design. I have an almost exact replica of that case on my Note 4 and I love the kickstand design. This case is a bit cheaper than the one on my Note4 and it's pretty obvious, the Silicon sleeve is softer and more flimsy than the one on my Note4.
I reckon I will get a better or different case as more come on the market, but I wasn't keen on most of the choices available on Amazon right now, so I'll wait for some of the bigger brands to come up with their options.
I just got one on Amazon for $4.99 It will be here Thursday.. And with Amazon's return policy you could probably return it as well after you get the new Note.
Edit to give link:
I've had my eye on the SteelSeries Stratus XL for awhile. Just the other day they started listing a Refurbished model on Amazon for only $30 which is a pretty big discount. Don't have a ton of experience with it so far, but it seems to work just fine. Has a premium feel to it, not like the 3rd Party Mad Catz controller your buddy gives you when you would play Smash Bros at their house.
It also works with my Steam Link so that's another big plus for me.
It says (Updated Design) on Amazon. Here's the link https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Yootech-Updated-Anti-Lifting-Coverage/dp/B01KFQKIJ6. The other one has "Case Friendly" in its title so I'm not sure if it's made to not cover the edges as much or what the difference actually is. Updated Design just sounded better to me lol.
Also, I put my UAG case on and it does lift in both of the top corners a bit and was disappointing, but after messing with the case little more I got the case to cover the corners and not lift unless I squeezed the corners. I also have a dbrand skin on the back btw.
https://madeby.google.com/phone/switch/
I believe the Pixel comes with the adapter and has a service similar to Samsung's Smart Switch... however, I've never used it so I can't verify. Perhaps some youtube videos can help confirm.
Otherwise, backup whatever you can to your GMail account... such as contacts, etc etc
For apps, try Helium https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup&hl=en
You're going to need to use a Desktop Client for it too.
I've decided to go for the S7 Edge, so at least I won't have the bezel problems. Can't wait for the months to pass by so I can change it for the Note 8.
Samsung's Secure Folder mainly has two primary features:
Encrypting files so they can't be viewed without unlocking.
Having a second set of apps on your device.
Parallel Space seems to be the closest alternative... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lbe.parallel.intl&hl=en
I'm unsure if the files are encrypted, but there's a ton of file encryption apps on the play store so that shouldn't be hard to find.
I know I used to use such an app, I will go searching for it, hold this rope, I'm going in!
(Fordrus forgets to take the other end of the rope with him)
Haha! I found it almost immediately! I haven't used this in AGES, I will mess around with it for a few minutes and see if it really is what I remember it being. Hold this rope, I'm going in! :D
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bwr.memorystory&hl=en
(No, I do not remember it being 5 bucks, but I already own it and it is still installed on my old Note3, but I noticed while installing it on my Note7 that it was not initially free. :D )
2nd Edit: Of note, appears last update was a good while ago (2013) but it is running nicely on my Note7, though the "Draw only with S-pen" does not appear to register the Note7 S-pen with the additional pressure sensitivity as an S-pen. ;) You can't add images as near as I can tell, but it is a flashcards app, appears to have spaced repetition review options (and settings indicate notifications for them, as well, but it's hard to properly test Spaced repetition notification implementation without some time and all, you know? :D) Things appear to be well implemented, if fairly bare-bones and slightly dated. Still, this should technically fulfill the bill, even if $5 is a trifle expensive for an app (I think I cautiously offer a recommendation. I recall using this for some organic chemistry notes, way way back. :) )
Here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devjackey.homebutton&hl=en
Someone asked about it on like the first few days Note7 was released. This should work nicely.
Just know that pressing it will just bring you to home, so you use it by placing the app onto the App Edge or SPen Air Command window.
Lecture notes is one of the most customizable, feature-rich. The developer has been constantly working on this app for the last 3-4 years! Here's his XDA thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=68673822#post68673822
I use Chrome on the desktop, but I just don't like it on my phone. The Samsung browser with Crystal Adblock runs great and does what I want. Like someone else said, it's kind of cool logging in to Amazon using your fingerprint.
Helium backup: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup (full backup, no root needed! - but you will need a pc)
Even the free version works, but support the developer (Koush) because this app is really fills a gap in the world of unROOTable devices.

This is what Samsung's smart switch was supposed to do, but they of course failed. Samsung fails in everything software related :-(
I was using Adobe Draw, which is cool, but recently tried out Infinite Design, which is also a vector drawing app that actually has a TONNE more features than Adobe Draw. Very cool stuff.
Mind sharing a screenshot of your toggles?
On the notification toggles, press and hold on any of the toggles to open up the screen that shows all available toggles. Take a screenshot of that and share it here.
But if you don't want to, you can try using an app to change the setting, since you can't change it in the Settings screen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.varience.triggerx
I've used this app a while back and it has the Auto-Rotate toggle feature. I just downloaded it and checked, the Auto-Rotate feature was able to change the Auto-Rotate setting in the Note7.
What you do is after you install the app, on the main screen, swipe to the tab that says Settings. Then press the + button at the top right. Scroll down till you find the Auto-Rotate Toggle and then draw a gesture on the bottom. It doesn't really matter what gesture it is since you won't be using the gesture. Press the Check at the top right when done.
Now on the main screen, under the Settings tab, you'll see this new item that says Auto-Rotate Toggle. Tap that and it'll change the setting.
Afterwards, you can uninstall the app since the setting has been changed internally and the app isn't necessary to keep it on. If you want, you can also check out more of the app since its a really nice app that I've used for a while.
I use cheetah sync and tasker. As soon as I am on home wi-fi cheetah sync backs up my selected folders to a CIFS share on my network drive at home.
The only downside is I do not sync while out, so I do risk those pictures. But i mostly use my phone for work or out with family, so not too much of a risk, yet.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrtstudio.SyncFolders
Yup, I'm also a big fan of minimalism. I dislike gaudy, widget filled, multiple paged home screens. You can find the icon pack here.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher.prime&hl=en
Well worth it!!
Free version with fewer features:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en
I've had a good experience with AdClear.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-adclear-root-version-ad-blocker-t3309011
Its free and will block ads throughout the entire system. However, it'll do this through the use of a VPN.
Technically, there's really no way to block system-wide ads on a non-root device without the use of a VPN (local or not). This is mainly because rooted devices have the ability to modify the hosts file to redirect connections away from ad networks.
However, it becomes impossible for apps to touch that file on a non-rooted device. Since apps aren't able to touch modify the properties of other apps without permission, there's no 3rd party app that can get rid of ad connections on another app.
The only solution is VPN which allows you to intercept the traffic and filter out the ads before directing the rest of the data to the requesting apps.
Of course, this does have its drawbacks, but its all we have and all that's possible for a non-root solution.
However, if you want just a browser... that's simply done. Just download an Ad-Block Browser like
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hsv.freeadblockerbrowser&hl=en
Since the browser has the ability to filter out the ads it receives.
I have experience with both of those apps and have had really great results.
I'm going with the Spigen Rugged Armor. I have this same case for my Note 5. It protects the phone well. It has a great texture and minimal on the phone.
Also, it isn't expensive which I like because it is a great case.
I ordered the IQ Shield from Amazon. Good price and great reviews. It's not tempered glass or anything. I just got it for minor scratches since that is what Gorilla Glass 5 is weaker at I guess. There's a matte version as well.
Mine won't arrive until Tuesday, though. =(
Edit: Some Best Buy stores have the Zagg ones in right now... but they're expensive.
This was $250 last week:
https://www.amazon.com/BLU-PURE-XR-Smartphone-Unlocked/dp/B01IVV81NC
For $250, I can wait until the Note 8 or S8.
I have an S7. Don't do it. The Pixel and V20 seemed inferior. If you're forced to get an inferior device, why lock yourself into it for 2 years? Or an old one like the S7?
The XR is pretty decent. And I couldn't justify the upspend to the Honor 8. You're getting close to an S7 at that point.
I recently discovered this as well. I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0109JIQ0W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Has worked just fine the last three short driving trips. Really a neat find and very useful!
You can get decent wireless headphones for not that much either, I have these. I love quality sounding headphones as much as the next guy but I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between these and any other pair of headphones you could buy under $100. Granted IDK if you can get over the ear wireless headphones , which I actually prefer, for cheap these ear buds are comfy and sound great and contain a mic.
I ended up getting the S-View flip cover. It feels kind of dorky but it's functional and I want to keep the screen covered so it doesn't get all scratched up.
https://smile.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-edge-S-View-Cover/dp/B01B1WBB8U/
I bought this one for my nightstand.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H76NIAS/
I don't have quick charging enabled, but with a 2A power source my phone can go from between 10-20% to 100% in about 1.5 hours.
The one you have will only get a maximum of 1A output.
I use wireless at home and at work. I have a cable for my car, but only because it's tiny and I don't want to clutter it with any of the wireless car chargers I have seen. I have my fancy Samsung upright one at my work desk and my cheap DISDIM one at home. My only complaint is the DISDIM one is so small I have to move my phone around to find just the right spot in the dark. My issue with the Samsung one is the LED stays on all the time and is so bright in the middle of the night when everything else is dark. DISDIM's comes on blue when it recognizes the phone, green when fast charging kicks in, and then goes dark after a few seconds.
I bought these about 6 months ago when I started going to gym, they have been awesome, I use them almost daily. The Sound is great and I bet most couldn't tell the difference in audio between them and any other headset under 100. They also have a built in mic. I haven't had to use the built in mic yet so I cant comment on that. While I'll agree its probably not the highest quality sound, they work fine.
Okay, at this point is there and Type-C chargers that are recommended? This is the one I purchased from Amazon before realizing that there was an issue with the chargers.
I used this since my Nexus 6P and now with Note 7, essential item for me. One side is USB.C and the other is regular usb. You stick in any MicroSD and it works for both ports. Stick it into your laptop, transfer files, then stick it in the phone then transfer files. Done.
Monoprice Dual Mode USB-C MicroSD Reader (113506) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YQM8352/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_uvQ7xb6WV6QFM
I bought this 3-pack of USB-C 10ft cables and they work phenomenally:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CRVKZXQ
Edit: Best part about it is one came defective. The company sent a confirmation email asking how everything was working, i told them one was defective. They sent me one immediately the next day.
I use the one in the below link. It is supposed to use the metal plate behind your case, but with the Note 5 and now my Note 7, it works fine without it. However, a smooth case (or no case) is required for it to work without the metal plate. I avoid the metal plate because I use wireless charging and Samsung pay very frequently.
BTW, I've had this mount for over 2 years now, and it has worked flawlessly.
Scosche MAGDMB MagicMount Magnetic Dash Mount for Mobile Devices https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I608BJ8/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_kJvYxb3YNV92S
ATTENTION: USB-C to HDMI can use "DP Alt mode" instead of MHL. I learned of this spec in the Q&A section of this amazon product page:
Yeah, it's a hell lot cheaper too.
That one lasts for like a week for me on typical usage.
Plug for Seneo Wireless Charger. It's pretty cheap, works really well, and looks nice too. I'm using the Lumsing Multi-Port Charging Station and it works decently, but I think you can get things that are better for cheaper (I got this one at a discount).
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Charge-Wireless-Charging-Stand/dp/B01BMDQ9U8/ref=pd_lpo_107_bs_t_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8D7Z6ETTKZMNGNXPQS46 $45 for this specific one the one for $28.90 is the non fast charge version and doesn't come with the fast charger either.
The Note 7 supports 15W wireless charging, so make sure you get a 15W charger for fastest charging times.
I'm looking at this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B8W0J5E/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1ZG30H7CWDVPC
I love this retractable one from iOrange-E. The product feels solid; retracting and pulling on the charger several times let me know that the cord is not going to twist or break.
I got the below cable to use since looking for something a little longer than vord included with note 7. 5ft long good reviews and even reviewed by Benson Leung, who is a google software engineer who reviews usb c cables to weed out the crappy ones, and he approved of it.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01706YAXY/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_4xJXxbTJKAGET
According to me LEO Privacy is the best and most trusted and download safeguard app to protect over 100 million users from private information leakage, with strong applock to lock up apps, convenient privacy scan to locate loophole, safe box to Hide private photo & video, Wi-Fi security to secure network safety, etc. When you don't want people to see your private things or unlock your apps, if they try to enter, the app will take a pic of the intruder, so you will find out who snooped your phone. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.leo.appmaster&referrer=utm_source%3Dseo3
Social media apps- facebook, whatsapp, instagram, snapchat, hike. reddit, tumblr, 9gag are also good apps.
The pen doesn't work on non-Wacom screens
Google now on tap/Google screen search. But not as good in selecting text
I've used fooview before, pretty neat once you get the hang of it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fooview.android.fooview
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.adblockplus.adblockplussbrowser&hl=en
Here is the extension. Not sure if there's a better one, but this one is enabled by going into the Extensions menu inside of the app itself.
Backup whatever you can to your GMail account... such as contacts, etc etc.
To do this, go to your Settings>Cloud and Accounts>Accounts>Google
Then select the account you want to sync and make sure all the info you want to sync is checked with the last synced date being now.
Although it says App Data, it truly only means the App's that has been coded to support it. Not all apps have...
Therefore, for other apps, try Helium https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup&hl=en You're going to need to use a Desktop Client for it too.
If you're unsure, there's a few youtube videos that will teach you how to backup and restore using it. Take care to not bother backing up any Samsung specific apps.
For those that use ConnectBot (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.connectbot), one can open a local terminal with no root required. I tried to browse via Ghost Commander, but it saw the battery directory as a file for some reason.
You have to change the file extension. I used all sorts of custom fonts on my S6. It involves one app from the PlayStore. It was this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kapp.ifont
I downloaded the font, changed something and then I found it on default font change option. It's on Google (that's how i found it) but I'm too tired to look for you right now. Floods in my part another long day tomorrow.
Good luck.
Have you tried this one?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.killermobile.totalrecall
There customer service is pretty good. If you email them they will probably tell you if it will work.
try chrooma. its awesome and fully customizable. plus it let's you have iOS emojis
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gamelounge.chroomakeyboard
look: example
You could use Tasker, but of course that would mean creating the 'scripting' yourself. Neat project idea though, and the folks in /r/Tasker are always happy to assist.
Don't worry, you can easily move the files over to the SD card manually with a file explorer app such as Total Commander.
'wave' live wallpaper looks great on my OnePlus 2 while waiting for my Note 7 preorder. Should be great on the AMOLED panel!! Play store link to free edition
Lecture Notes: the most customizable note taking app on Android. My favorite features:
I use DropSync to auto backup notes to the cloud
I'm guessing burn in (temporary or otherwise) is a risk, which is why the Samsung's always on display doesn't sit in one spot (it moves around every so often to avoid using the same pixels all the time).
Something that might help with this would be using a wakelock app instead of the battery saver mode on pokemon go. I don't play pokemon go much, but I assume the battery saver mode is used to keep the screen on so the pokemon go app will still have access to GPS and keep the processor running. With the wakelock app, you should be able to do all that, but do it while the screen is off, which would stop burn in. You'll have to play around with it to see if it works well with pokemon go or not.
not much has changed.
people always ask me about the icon pack. it's called Sketchy
I used KWGT and modified one of the widgets from Unity KWGT.
These are the two that look most promising to me:
Sort of... you then have to start diving into the realm of widget's to get that level of customization. I keep my desktop simple with a grid so that works for me.. here's an app that can help further customize:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.zooper.zwpro&hl=en
Zooper is crazy powerful but it takes a lot of time and effort to get it nailed down perfectly. Here's a Reddit for a community focused on further customizing the UI: https://www.reddit.com/r/androidthemes
I read elsewhere that some have claimed success by downloading the Samsung Members app, and following a link to the play store through there.
However the members app is not compatible with my black Sprint model and I cannot vouch for it.
I've heard going awol on disabling everything can actually create lag or poor battery life, but you seemed to be safe 9n what you deleted.
Download gsam
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm
I don't use the system monitor. Gsam gives me more accurate readings, and complete app usage percentages. Report back.
I hard reset my router. At first I was getting the same issues. I then downloaded an app called Wifi Fixer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wahtod.wififixer&hl=en) to see what was going on (since none of the native apps give you any information). For now it's working well enough that I could reinstall all my apps.
If you're looking to block ads within a web browser, I like using Samsung's default browser and the Crystal Adblock for Samsung app.
I'm just throwing it at the wall here, but maybe through Samsung's GameBox Launcher they're beta testing? Not compatible with my Sprint Note 7, but maybe another carrier?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.android.game.gamebox
You really ought to be importing the raw files to a desktop and using Photoshop to get the most out of them, but Photoshop Express for Android can handle the files: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adobe.psmobile&hl=en
the raw files are stored alongside your .jpg files (\dcim\camera\ by default)
There are tons of different widgets you can place on your home screens. Not just plain icons. This particular one I like, because it's an original new way to show my icons. Not the usual grid of same size squares, but they can change size and position. Plus this allows us to use any of the thousands of standard icons packs even in the stock Samsung launcher, which otherwise could only use the icon packs it their theme store. It's called bubble cloud widget
It's a feature only in the Nova Prime (the paid version): "Icon Swipes - Set custom actions for swiping on app shortcuts or folders". In that case, if you have for example a folder with 5 apps and press/hold, on the Edit menu there will be an option "Swipe Action". The swipe action can be anything (locking screen, going to the app drawer, etc) but I always use it to open a specific app. So in the GPS folder, a click opens the folder, a swipe opens the app I use the most (Waze), in the Magazines folder it opens the site I use the most, etc. Pretty handy.
Without the use of third party apps like:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.floatify&hl=en
its not possible for all apps to show a Heads-Up Notification.
This is actually up to the developer and it requires them to designate that their notification is of priority MAX or HIGH.
So if Google made Inbox show notifications at Priority Normal or etc, it won't show. This is the same for all other apps.
If you want to add Heads-Up Notification support for unsupported apps, you'll have to look into some 3rd party apps like the one I linked.
I think you can do this with an app like All In One Gestures (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures). You can set a gesture to act as the Home button. I'm going to give it a try.
> I probably came off strong, sorry.
No worries. I took no offense.
> What do you mean by the handwriting thing?

I seem to have resolved this with the actual reset of my router. I had to setup my SSID and password again. However, I also used an app called Wifi Fixer, which is free on Google Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wahtod.wififixer&hl=en), and I kept an eye on when the disconnections were occurring. Finally got my phone set up without the SIM Card in.
Using Zooper Pro,

And an add on called Primium

And, then I added the low and high temp of the day. It's super easy to do if you take a little time to see how to create your own widgets.
I'm a big fan of Chrooma!!, I used it before they had a big update (in which it was decent) and now a number of weeks after a huge update of there I'm completely in love with it. Has an optional number row, skwype and great auto-correct. They recently implemented a cool clipboard as well. Perfectly customizable and looks fantastic, check em out.
I've been having a lot of fun using the S Pen on tsumego and go apps. Placing the pen down and picking it up again has a similar tactile feedback to picking up a stone making the action more thoughtful than just putting your finger to the glass.
I use Tsumego Pro and Go Free currently, but I'm always open to suggestions for better go apps! Particularly ones with good AI.

Assuming you know how to load zooper widgets, just download this app and you will find the preset widgets including the one I'm using. If you have any other questions fell free to ask!
To add to this, you can try out an app like Pixel Filter
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=screen.dimmer.pixelfilter&hl=en
What this app does is that you can customize a certain pattern and the app will turn off individual pixels within that pattern by making it completely black.
With a good enough pattern, you'll be able to save on a lot of battery without interfering with the original quality of the screen.
You can also disable the Pixel Filter whenever you're doing certain tasks like watching videos or etc, but for regular usage... turning off pixels can definitely extend battery life.
I mean it was a two second search on the phone I'm already on. Kinda curious why you couldn't hunt for it. For the lazies! :)
Squid coupled with S-Pen Launcher. Samsung did some great stuff, but I always hated S-Note and didn't like the removal of the stand-alone Action Memo so I jumped ship entirely from Samsung writing apps and this iteration didn't woo me back.
You need to check the usage battery, find out what app or package drain the battery life and disable it. There is a tool on Google Play, help you can disable any package or service Without Root https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
