Edit: Appears to be in the beta branch only. To enable, follow the steps here.
This is great news if true. It has been a while (May) since Nova has been updated. I don't own Action Launcher 3, but have a little jealous that they've had the Pixel-style launcher since around the time it first leaked.
I don't see anything in the updates section on the Play Store, however. Is this just in beta, or perhaps the Play Store page hasn't been updated yet. The last entry is:
4.3.1 May 4 2016 Fix icons not appearing in some parts of Canada Fix drawer tab menu not consistently appearing
UPDATE: Issue is fixed in Nova 4.3.1. Rolling out on the play store or get the APK from http://novalauncher.com/beta/ . Sorry Canada!
Nova's night mode uses timezones to approximate location if it doesn't have the location permission. For some reason carriers in Mantioba CA use the timezone of America/Resolute instead of America/Winnipeg. And Resolute is really far north and doesn't have traditional sunset/sunrises which throws things off. There was some code to handle these types of locations, but it wasn't behaving as it should.
Original: Please email with as much details as you can think of and Cliff can send you some things to try to narrow down the issue.
Edit: Everyone feel free to email. We're looking into the issue. BTW Is anyone not in Canada having this issue?
I think he also released an API so the plugin can read notifications from any developers app.
Edit : yep he did. Head over to novalauncher.com/teslaunread-api to check it out developers.
Hey, /u/jcbsera!
I have a suggestion. Maybe you could integrate the Tesla Unread API so that Nova Launcher users can have a badge with the notification count on their desktop :)

I imagine it's entirely possible to mod your phone in a way that looks similar to this with cool interface and everything along with the phone's skin/case to match this design. On Android there's the Nova Launcher that allows you to highly customize how your home screen looks and functions so this could allow you to make it feel like a PokeDex. My girlfriend uses it and it seems pretty easy to configure.
It really depends which stock launcher you're using, but I can say pretty confidently that the stock launcher doesn't match nova in terms of customization. Of course, there might be some features that are unique to your stock that nova cannot emulate, and the features nova offers may not appeal to you as a consumer, but for the most part it's a fantastic piece of software used en masse.
For example; some of the features they list on their homepage:
However, the level of customization extends beyond just changing these values: icon labels/sizes can be changed, the colors of any element you wish can be changed, animation speeds, the list goes on. Try it sometime ;)
Update from above:

No wifi = download to PC then transfer via cable?
here's the Nova site:

FWIW, the little house would normally have dots next to it on either side to represent any additional homescreens. It appears that you only have one homescreen, hence just the little house.
Android 5.0 Developer Preview on a Nexus 5
+ Nova Launcher Prime to allow offset app placement, app renaming, font and icon size, widget resizing, dock scrolling, all that jazz.
+ Poweramp for the music player
The other thing before uninstalling it, is to disable any gestures. I'm assuming you're using the Google Play Store version and the next step would be to contact the development team. http://novalauncher.com
Direct download link.
Here's the site if you're skeptical about the direct link.
It'd be cool if you also hosted the beta APK's somewhere independently, i.e. copy the way Nova Launcher does betas.
I know that the G+ platform makes a lot of sense from the dev perspective, what with the auto-updates for people who opt in, and a centralized place to get feedback/discussions, but personally, I pass on anything that requires me to use G+.
If it's really not worth your time to have people running the beta outside of the G+ ecosystem then rock on, I'll check it out when you go stable/public.
As a Kustom addict, I've run into that problem before where moving one thing changes all the ratios and I have to go through and change everything by just a little bit. Depending on how you made your wallpaper it could be that there's one thing that needs to be moved a tiny bit to get the measurements right again.
If that doesn't help you, you could always change everything. I'd imagine that might be really time consuming though, so if you want you could download the old version of Nova at http://novalauncher.com/.
FYI, Nova Launcher is basically all launchers since 3.0 plus a bunch of extra features. You can bring back the Honeycomb persistent search and app drawer buttons, as well as a landscape/automatic homescreen if your device doesn't support it.
And you can even make the Honeycomb app drawer button do the Lollipop circle animation if you want to! :D
Assuming your phone has the Google Play Store...
Install this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
Or download here if your phone doesn't have the Google play store: http://novalauncher.com
Then import from your default launcher, then hit the home button and set nova to default.
I think the non beta was 2012 ? If I remember correctly .. I checked their site on archive.org and it has it in Feb 2012, but I believe I had it prior to that. https://web.archive.org/web/20120227143305/http://novalauncher.com/
Phone launcher basically have complete access to device.
They don't even use https for website but their privacy policy isn't great for privacy http://novalauncher.com/privacy/
I would only use opensource launchers but it depends on how much you care about.apps leaking your data.
Yeah, are you on Nova 5.5? Could you try reverting to 5.4 (here's a download link)? Does the problem still exist on 5.4?
It looks like there might be 2 bugs out here. One is Sesame's fault and we're working on a fix. But we've gotten reports that Nova 5.5 may also be causing a slow down. We talked to the Nova devs, but they don't know what could cause it.
At this point if we verified that reverting to Nova 5.4 fixes it, I think we can get the Nova guys to take a deeper look. Thanks!
Wouldn't hurt to ask the apps developer to provide the notification/unread info to the system. You may have better luck asking in the apps G+/Reddit community instead of the Play Store. ~~I'm not sure of the name of the specific thing/service you'd be asking for, but there may be more info on TeslaUnreads website.~~
Edit* - so looks like the app would need to consume the TeslaUnread API. There is a little more info and code snippets here.
Did you ever find a solution to this issue? After reading your comment, I checked and realized that I'm having the same problem. Did you end up having to choose between nova launcher and now on tap?
Edit : Just emailed the developer, got this response, and now it works:
Have you installed the beta-5 updated version by chance? What you mention has a fix for this in the beta versions that we've released over the last 2 - 3 days so you might want to check that out. You can get the beta version here: http://novalauncher.com/beta and download 4.2.0-beta-5
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you,
Cliff
I have the international version and there isn't too much bloatware in comparison to carrier models. There are some apps you may not use though. I recommend buying a launcher that can hide the apps such as Nova Launcher Prime which is $5. You'll also be able to customize it to how you like and you can also apply icon packs with it. The headphones are ok but I prefer to use $6-7 Panasonic headphones from Amazon which are very popular.
I haven't used Mailwise. If they have a widget it's potentially possible TeslaUnread could grab the unread count from it (that's how a number of the counters work), alternative if the devs are responsive they could support TeslaUnread natively http://novalauncher.com/teslaunread-api/
Pedantically speaking, stock Android is a ROM just as much as CM, PA, AOKP, Euphoria, etc, are ROMs. You may also want to try flashing straight to 5.1 instead of starting with 5.0 and sideloading OTAs, for the sake of eliminating steps in which jankiness can enter the system. And I strongly suggest signing up for the Nova Launcher ~~Butter~~Beta.
You mind explaining how? I'm fully updated with nova, but I see no options for nova under my phones accessibility options
Edit: Figured it out. You didn't mention that I had to be in Nova BETA.
Man I love nova, but since the lollipop 5.0.1 update for my note 4, swipe Down for notifications no longer works... That was my number one gesture. I hope it gets fixed soon.
Edit: turns out you need to have Nova BETA for notifications to work again.
It is confusing, isn't it? The Play page even has 3.0beta1 changes listed under the "What's New" section too.
However, according to what I presume is the official site it's from today.
