What about this? I have a USB A-C cable from them (a few actually) and they've all held up.

I bought a matte one from amazon for generic 14" screens and it's damn near flawless. Highly recommend https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LEC2WLW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_TGUQFbWC4R8G5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I use this one... it doesn't let you increase contrast... which seems operative here but does let you decrease brightness. I will have to search for a new one if Contrast is a concern. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.halfcycle.cc
Mine's been fine. No buzzing at all. I used it for six hours of Teams meetings today with no buzzing sounds.
But, thinking about scenarios that might contribute to buzzing: (1) I was running off of battery the entire time (I wasn't plugged into the charger), and (2) I was using a third party USB C cable.
I'd recommend looking for one rated for 20gbps and 100w per delivery.
For example:
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B087ZQ4S6L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_e9MGFb13YCQ5J
it's a relatively cheap result which advertises to meet those specs but I haven't passively tried it
10gbps would most likely be enough but with if you err on the side of caution 20gbps should make sure nothing goes wrong. There are called rated for 40gbps but that's thunderbolt so that shouldn't be necessary.
If course this is speculation as I haven't got my nexdock touch yet so I can't try anything I have to back up my theory.
Butt yeah, most devices you'll be connecting will either use usb 3.1 (gen 1 is 5gbps, gen 2 is 10gbps) or 3.2 (20gbps).
So, there's an Amazon lightning deal for a 4/64GB stick based on the Celeron J4105 platform. A quick internetting looks like it's a decent upgrade from the Atom in most of the sticks. I'll have it tomorrow and will report back. Free returns, so doesn't hurt to give it a try. I already claimed the deal, so I hope this link shows the sale, it just shows me full price now.

I thought it would work directly with just the cable too but that wasn't the case. I ended up using the original dock and plugging it in via HDMI. When I'm on the go I use the AceFast Dock.
If you want to run one usb c cable from your desktop to the nexdock, I have successfully tried two solutions. One is get a graphics card with a USB C port such as the Nvidia 20 series or AMD 6800 reference. Two is this wacom device where you plug in your HDMI and USB from computer into it and then a USB C from the dock to the nexdock.

You're a mess, kid.
The first NexDock already shipped in late 2019: https://nexdock.com/blog/nexdock-final-production-update/
Samsung stopped developing Linux on DeX, but they still develop DeX.
I have no idea what you're talking about in the rest of your post, but maybe https://shadow.tech/ would be useful.
I have had issues with that brand (even though I recommended them to someone a few months ago) where the display connection will start to flicker in and out, I have since started using these Spigen USB 4 certified cables: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09198FV8S and I've had a great experience, I did pick them up for $19.99 USD each (on sale) so maybe watch the price for a drop If the list price of $24.99 USD seems too high, my only complaint so far is that it is a little bit shorter than I'd like.
The cable it comes with is crap anyway. Mine stopped working about a week in. Bought this one on Amazon and it's been great since.
Maru states:
> The Pixel does not support HDMI so there is no need to purchase HDMI adapters. Please use a wireless adapter instead. First generation has been tested and confirmed to work at 720p with Chromecast. - https://maruos.com/docs/devices/sailfish.html#install-maru-via-twrp
I stopped using the one that comes with it and use this one. Without needing to enable charging am able to use Dex https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZYKFQHQ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_VZWDFXEA4XTAGZ9XGC47?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This should work: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FY32M1Q?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
I dont think i have tried usb-c displayport mode with it on my desktop but it does work on my samsung s21+ fine so it should work fine on a desktop.
Actually scratch that 2nd one. Thinking this maybe better. I'd lose the USB 3.0 ability but that Type C port with 20GB bandwidth as well as the psu hookup makes me think that's more ideal? Using this screen protector. Great for cutting the glare on the 360 screen.
Covers the active portion of the screen perfectly but not the edges.
USB C 3.1 GEN 2
I use this cable to connect my work laptop (ThinkPad 480s) to my NexDock, to use it as a second monitor. Yes, I could just use HDMI, but the USB connection also passes-through the NexDock's keyboard and trackpad, which is occasionally useful.
For my phone, I use this cable
I got this and it's working perfectly.
USB C to USB C 3.1 Gen2 Cable 1M, NIMASO PD 100W USB Type C to C Fast Charge Data Cable
All of my cables are charge AND data/sync cables so you get or have those you should be good to go. I always like to look for fast charging and PD is a bonus since I don't really NEED the PD aspect. Mainly charge and data/sync, not just charge I think is the main factor if one works or not in this type of usage.
This is one of the most recent ones I bought that works for you can check all details more easily. This is from the listing which made me even more confident it would work fine. Still a bit too rigid a cable sadly.
I have this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CY1L1Q7/
But 50% of the time it gives an error that water was detected in the USB c port. Some of the reviews are good though.
Still looking for a good right angle to straight plug.
I've had a NexDock2 since December 2019, plus my NexDock Touch...
I have one of these and its ok. I really prefer these flat cables 'cause they're very flexible.
I got one of the Compute sticks. The cable that splits from USBC to micro and regular A is enough to power it. The only problem is that there is no communication of power status to the stick. So, there is no power management at all. If the display signal from the stick cuts out (like if it tries to put the display to sleep, or itself to sleep), then the Nextdock stops sending power, and the whole thing dies. If you're okay using it with the screen on all the time and fully powering down every time you would normally just shut the lid on a laptop, then it works great.
I got this one, with the Celeron J https://smile.amazon.com/Windows-Celeron-Fanless-Comupter-Ethernet/dp/B07W56CCYS/
Edit: the timing of turning it on is also tricky - plug everything in, turn on Nexdock, watch for blue light on stick, push power button on stick, hope it timed right and boots. I had to use external power to the stick to run the initial set up until I figured out how to time it so the Nexdock would send power to get the stick going in time to send a video signal to prevent the Nexdock from going back to power save mode and cutting power to the stick.
This one work for me TECKNET Aluminum 3-Port USB 3.0 Hub with RJ45 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
Hey, what do you figure regarding this one?
I have a spare 1+ 7pro, I use dex devices mainly with my nex touch. I tried unsuccesfully to use the Samsung OTG/3 port powered adapter, and can't find my type B to C adapter to plug that nexdock's splitter cable they sent for other devices and until I get adapter to port to adapter, lol, I won't know.
I am ordering some gear and figured I'd give this a whirl also, tell me, what you think?

Thank you for your feedback, etc, and have an awesome week!
I tried the the key mapper app mentioned below and it works without the meta key issue but you have to buy app to get the combination key feature. It costs $1.99.
I tried it too, and for me it seems to only be disabled when you only press the meta key, if you presse it with something else like earlier said meta+L it still works. But that is pretty annoying, I found a half backed solution. I made a keymapp that opens this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rjt.appsearch with a double press of the meta key (if you make it with single press AppSearch+ also opens accidentally while using the touch pad).
I recommend this short USB C to USB C cable.
It is on sale to boot.
I bought this one, but i havent played around with video modes yet. The image is stetched out horizontally but for my use case it doesnt matter: VGA to HDMI Adapter Converter... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07121Y1Z3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Works fine and so do the following cables https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07XMKSQ3Z/ 0.5m and https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07VPSVK31 1m. Although the prices of the cables fluctuate so I don't know if they're the best value for money at current prices.
I'm using a Mountee which has worked pretty well. Its all plastic, and the process of getting the right fit is a little fiddly, but it works as advertised and holds my phone secure.
The one thing I've noticed though is that it has actually caused a dent to appear the screen of my Nexdoc Touch due to the mounting pressure. It's a very minor dent, and it hasn't affected functionality yet (video and touch both work fine), but it has me a little worried about long term durability.
A few other minor points: It comes in a fair ways past the bezel, blocking a small bit of the screen (on both nexdock and my s9+). Due to the placement of the power button on my phone I have to mount it halfway down my phone to avoid accidentally powering down.
I received my NexDock a few days ago, and I had the same janky connection problems with my Note 9. Not only does it occasionally completely disconnect, but I also get on-screen static and occasionally really loud audio static. I've also got a Galaxy Tab S4 and a Note 8 (work phone), which also support DEX via USB-C, and have the same problem with them.
To be honest, all the cables look way over-engineered to me. Sure, they look nice and feel premium, but they're far too stiff and bulky, 'specially for a portable laptop. The mess of wires to connect my Raspberry Pi 4 is really awkward, and the included HDMI cable is so stiff that its putting stress on the micro-HDMI port on the Pi.
Like OP, I didn't have a USB-C 3.1 cable lying around, so I ordered this one (or rather, these two) from Amazon and they arrived about an hour ago. Holy crap, what a difference they make for connecting my Note 9. Easier, more flexible, more packable, and most importantly, no weird disconnects or static when I move my phone around. The cable is (just) long enough to use with a phone-monitor clip, but I'm still kinda waffling about getting a longer cable so that I can talk on the phone while its connected to the NexDock; maybe a retractable cable (if they exist)?.
Next up: find more appropriate cables to connect my Pi.
I grabbed a magnetic right-angle adapter and am going to use the cable that was supplied at least until it starts to annoy me again. I wanted to have a right-angle connection so the cord coming out wasn't so bulky and I liked the magnetic link since that can help protect everything if some unexpected force is put on the interface.

I just purchased VGA to HDMI, Benfei VGA to HDMI Adapter with Audio Support and 1080P Resolution - VGA Input to HDMI Output from Amazon. It works for some video modes and not others. For example, I can see POST screen and Windows, but booting to a DOS utility results in no video.
I have the Touch and also had this which is the exact same as the Pepper Jobs (Pepper Jobs licenses their tech to others). I returned the monitor and kept the Touch.
Nothing wrong with the monitor mind you, I just wanted something all-in-one and a bit smaller than 15.6"
The trackpad is the biggest issue on the Touch (for me) but not a deal breaker. Difficult to type unless you disable it.
The touch screen on the "Touch" though is more responsive than that of the external monitor; most likely due to the heavy matte overlay on that thing whereas the Touch is glossy. The external monitor also has color calibration controls (and many other controls) that the Touch doesn't. External monitor has a bigger battery as well due to its size.
If you want to lug a keyboard/mouse around then the Pepper Jobs monitor is a good choice. Nothing wrong with it. If they made it in a smaller form factor I'd get it.
Heh, I'm in Australia but found these, different name but same description/look. Hope not cheap knockoffs:

This is the one I got, but it won't work with a switch and probably not the pi either, but it works great for all my phones:

There you go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.halfcycle.cc
You may also try this other one, it's pretty good. I found the blue is too dominant causing the white to be unbalanced. It helps but it's not perfect still since the LCD is not made of good quality. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.uk.quickdoc.screenbalance
You may set a Bixby routine to run this when Dex starts
nice catch! then it's the same as the alpha
edit: btw if you're still interested in using the nexdock, you can power the lattepanda with a 45W powerbank like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MGGVLCQ/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_XPCIFbR5V3GXE
I use this one. However it lets you decrease contrast not increase which seems operative here. I will have to start searching for one for when the nexdock arrives. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.halfcycle.cc
I use this to hold my phone and cable.
If you feel the Touch isn't ready for prime time then it never will be right for you. This is version 3.
And the trackpad scrolls correctly for me. Depends on your perspective.
Yes, I use the NexDock2 with my work phone (Galaxy S10) and the Microsoft Remote Desktop app all the time. All special keys work exactly the same as a PC keyboard.
-edit-
But, I'm concerned about the title of your post: "iOS integration". The kind of functionality is only supported on some higher-end Android devices. See NexDock's supported phones page for more information.
Android has some default keyboard shortcuts, you should be able to find them under Input & languages or similar, under Physical keyboard.
But if you want custom shortcuts, you can use the open source Key Mapper app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.github.sds100.keymapper
I've had zero DRM issues on my Touch. Prime and Netflix work problem-free on my Touch. Same thing with purchased (DRM) video/TV shows on YouTube.
I am using a third-party USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable - I don't have the stock one with me at the moment to test.
Phone: Samsung Note 9
- edit - Just to confirm: I'm using the Prime, Netflix and YouTube apps.
I can't get this to work, I have this I use on switch https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07D6GXHKV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_cp4HFbW63AD2H
Very frustrating, thought could simply connect phone and touchscreen and keyboard would work. May be selling 7 pro and switching to Samsung now.
I can't get it to recognize TouchPad or keyboard at all. Using the dongle and hdmi.
Works fine on pi
I have one of these and plan to use it with 3m locking strips. I've tried this on my MacBook and it works great. 3m locking strips are strong and peel off easily with no residue if you ever need to. This way I can use my case and even hold the phone in landscape mode. The camera faces me perfectly for zoom calls. The only downside is the strip on the lapdock. I have a hard requirement of not need to remove my case and nothing interfering with wireless charging though so its a good compromise for me.

Actually it is a sleeve. Works great for all of the accessories, Raspberry Pi4 and Intel Compute Stick I use with the NexDock (in additiona to DeX).
That's a good one. If I was willing to get screwed, I would try this one but I'll probably just buy your known-good cable. https://www.amazon.ca/Poyiccot-Type-C-Angled-Degree-Charging/dp/B07QXQ921J/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=superspeed+usb+10gbps+right+angle&qid=1602192142&sr=8-5
I went with one of these for a phone mount:
https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Computer-Expansion-Smartphone-Cellphone/dp/B088WZCZ3Q
No, it won't charge with a standard 5v/2.4amp USB port. The NexDock2 requires a PD charger. I have this car adapter and it works fine.
