ES Explorer got bought out and started getting bundled with advertisements and superfluous "features". Basically they started abusing the notifications to peddle junk and advertising. I doubt they do that (as much) anymore, but that was a pretty huge red flag for their future intentions.
I recommend mixplorer (as replied above).
Theres a good reason why it was removed. There are few shady chinese app gians in play store that you should never trust with your data (*cough* cheetah mobile *cough*)
I'd recommend using MiXplorer: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
It's the best fucking app I have ever used and the developer is one fucking amazing guy (Just look at the thread & how he replies)
It has almost everything that ES had and more, the problem is it can be a bit of a learning curve.
For those wondering, MiXplorer is a file explorer with all the functions you'd expect, and does great for those who hate what ES has become. Does all the usual cloud stuff, SMB, FTP, WEBDAV, maybe NFS, root access, tabs, themes, and a whole lot more. Link for the lazy.
I don't use K9, but it's open source and is generally the first option people turn to if they're trying to go open source and/or ditch Google.
For others, here is the thread for MiXplorer
You used to need XDA Labs for updates, but it auto-updates itself now
You need to ditch solid explorer and use mixplorer. Aside from being free, it is the most feature rich and streamlined explorer for android that I have ever used. I ditched Solid explorer for it and it has never disappointed me.
Do not use ES File Explorer. It's ad riddled crapware. Solid Explorer is good, FX is also good, or if you want a free file explorer with good features, there's MiXplorer over at Xda.
MiXplorer is in my opinion the best file manager out there, except for the fact it's not on the Play Store.
Free with no ads though, and an insane amount of features.
MiXplorer. It isn't on the play store, but I don't find it to be an issue. It has almost every functionality of Solid Explored but is free and, for me, more intuitive. I paid for Solid Explorer and still ditched it for MiXplorer. You can download the apk from XDA.
That's not really a good suggestion, as ES File Explorer now has really obtrusive ads.
Mixplorer is a more fully featured file explorer app that's free and ad-free: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
MiXplorer is my new favorite, or ES File Explorer 4.0.2.3 old version before it sold put does everything but Dropbox, but neither does the most recent PAID Es File Explorer Pro whatever, to show how little they have done to improve it.
Anyway MiXplorer does everything and its free, just not in the appstore
You should consider switching from es to something else. I know the article is old but the last time I've downloaded it to see if it has turned around it hasn't. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.androidpit.com/this-is-why-you-should-not-use-es-file-explorer%3famp=true
I use https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
Nova or Apex Launcher. Apex doesn't get enough love around here.
MiXplorer - from XDA. Best file manager and a lot more.
Reddit Is Fun - The Reddit app I always come back to.
aCalendar+ - I have tried most of the calendar apps including Business Calendar. aCal+ has the best widget, and he most functionality. Customizes up nice too.
Google Keep - Mostly because it has a desktop app. If anyone has anything equivalent or better I'm all ears.
MiXplorer: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
Iinkme: Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher, Reddit Is Fun, aCalendar+, Google Keep
I still use the sideloaded version (on a Mi Box, among other devices), downloaded from the developer's page:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691

Bought the paid version to support the developer...!
MiXplorer no ads. You might need to use the free SMBv2 add-on to network with Windows 10 devices. Not sure if it's already included with the current app version. Mixplorer can automatically detect LAN devices.
Forgot about that one. It's been nearly a decade since it was first released. It's come along way since then. Thanks!
Assuming you're looking for a new file explorer now, I've been using MiXplorer for a few years and absolutely love it.
It's got more features than I'll ever need, and a really polished UI.
> File Explorer, from Anker.
My go-to file explorer on all my devices is MiXplorer. It's just all around right! Works great on Android Tv, it's free and no ads, it's clean and has lots of great options. Most of all I love the philosophy of the dev and the support community is awesome.
> Send Files To Tv
I just have a cloud drive folder (like Dropbox or Google Drive) where I save files on my computer, and then use a bookmarked folder in MiXplorer to quickly access it. (So two operations, one app).
> Blockada
I use AdGuard, which works great now on Android Tv. Sign up for the beta and you get a free license.
I'd add to your list:
Other fun apps:
That isn't quite true: the developer makes MiXplorer freely available on XDA
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
The APK here is missing some plugins/addons, all of which are available (and most for free) on the Play Store and work with the sideloaded APK. So if you paid for it via the Play Store, you're really paying for the (free) plugins being bundled with it + the automatic updates via the Play Store, instead of having to download from XDA for every update.
Though, I think there's an XDA Labs app store too. So maybe not as inconvenient as it seems
Mixplorer on XDA should do the work. It's a very solid file manager that allows you to use your own FTP. It's free, has no ads and work perfectly. Make sure to configure your app and hers on the same FTP and you're done.
MiXplorer no ads, has a built-in text editor that is quite competent and meets all your requirements. Editor also has its own home screen launch icon.
> I prefer to pay vs free.
Unfortunately MiXplorer is free, but there are several add-ons you can purchase.
Android doesn't support it, natively.
You can use a third-party app to access it. AFAIK MiXplorer supports Samba shares.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
P.S. You cannot just install other Linux distributions on an Android device. The Android kernel is too deviated from mainline (as of this writing) that it only supports itself.
I think you need to unzip them and place them in your Mods folder. You'll probably need a file manager if you don't have one. I'm not an Android expert, but people seem to like MiXplorer.
First download mixplorer here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
Your phone and Pc must be on the same network - - Open the app, tap on the three dots menu (upper right, servers, and start Ftp server
- pull down your notifications shade and you'll see the Ftp server url created by the app. Open Windows Explorer on your PC and type the exact same address and press Enter.
Add that folder to your Quick access folder for easier access in the future. BTW, if you have no internet, you can use direct wifi between your devices by just using your phone's mobile hotspot
Follow this guide
https://androidpctv.com/tutorial-connect-android-pc-windows-samba/
> I take pics from phone, and I want the file to show up on my PC so I can upload to ebay.
MiXplorer: Schedule file transfer(s) from Android to shared PC folder (once, every 15 mins, 30 mins, hourly, 12 hours, daily, weekly, monthly). Must purchase Mix SMBv2.
Settings->Auto Tasks->New Task select file(s) or folder to send select network PC destination directory select recurring time interval Save
You can take the files directly from xd inside: Data/media .
Use a file explorer like MixPlorer and copy the files over to card, then to pc.
File browser MiXplorer comes with a text editor that saves as txt. You can separately add its shortcut to a homescreen and use it as a standalone. It's quite a competent text editor too.
The app doesn't seem to have a native video player or image viewer, but if you use the caldav address for your server with a file explorer, it works quite well.
My file explorer of choice is MiXplorer: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
The image viewer and video player apps that come with MiXplorer play images and videos from my shared Windows 10 SMB folder. However, SMBv2 support costs extra.
I also download lots of stuff using my phone, then transfer to computer later.
I use Mixplorer for this, which is an awesome file manager for Android that also let's you access WebDAV, FTP, you name it. You can start a temporary HTTP (web)server from Mixplorer on your phone (using WiFi) and access it from your computer, using a browser, to grab the files. You can also start an FTP server, but then you need a FTP client (I prefer WinSCP) on your computer. FTP is much faster to grab a lot of files at once though.
No no no, via sta roba. Questi hanno peggiorato di proposito la versione gratuita (un tempo ottima) per spingere quella a pagamento. Non si meritano un soldo.
Come file explorer andate di MiXplorer!!!
Have you enabled view hidden files on your PC? Solid explorer is excellent I'd recommend paying for it like others have said. As an alternative you could try MiXplorer it's not available on play store but free on xda. I use it on couple devices I run without google services but prefer solid explorer it's just a little more user friendly.

Not being in the Play Store is a big reason for this.
It stinks that Google won't give the fraudulent package name back.

Is there something wrong with your browser or reddit app? You've posted the same thing like 8 times haha
For SystemUI Tuner on Android P, you'll need ADB/root to use it. :)
I don't have too many apps to suggest, because I just personally use it. But if you're looking for a file manager MiXplorer is great: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
I just installed solid explorer and yeah, Pebble app is not on the list to open with. I don't know other solution but you might try to use the same filemanager as mine.
Forum: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
Or you can download the latest version right away (https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4196157&d=1498678827l
Free version is total shit since months ago, Pro version still works good.
Anyway I just moved to MiXplorer, there is an XDA thread to follow all new features and changes. As far as I remember, needs no unnecessary permissions, is super smooth and works in phones with Android 2.0
