Have you tried Alite? I'm not sure if it's a port or an homage to the classic game Elite. I've never played Eve, so I'm not 100% sure this is what you want, but it's a massive space exploration kind of game.

They can be exported as an obj and imported into Blender. The textures are just png files I make in Aseprite (any raster editor works tho)

And if you're looking for a knock off classic elite, there's a remarkably complete one on Android called Alite

Kinda funny because I've played E:D in VR using my Samsung Galaxy S6...

Oolite is basically an updated open source version of the classic Elite. Open source, free, updated often, and has mod support!

Alite is basically Oolite, without the mod support (yet). Also free, and a blast to play.
