So, it may be out of place or something but I really want to tell you people that the companion app is up and running on the Google Play Store
Sadly enough for us PC players, it is only available for consoles (PS4, Xbox One, PS3).

With Metal Gear Solid V out, does anyone think this app will work? I haven't tried the whole android apps stuff, But if this app works I'll definitely give it a try.

No, it's in the TPP app also, I did it. But You have to synch it with your game.
