Running really well, all functions including rewind/save states work as they should. I have tried one game that did not work wich was Pilot Wings. Other than that I see no difference with the official included roms. (40 installed so far)
I even installed a PAL rom, it did run but the gameplay was speed up and the audio glitched. (Asterix)
The only problem with the hacked kernel that is out now, the second controller does not seem to work with downloaded games.
EDIT The multiplayer issue is fixed to work if you use this script to convert your roms to .sfrom: https://hastebin.com/odoyisegan.py (not mine, can't find the author anymore) This also fixes Pilot Wings and some other games, they run fine now.
If you want to recover the already added games via FTP it's not complicated:
-Install WinSCP or any other FTP client
-Turn on your SNESC
-Open hakchi2
-Go to Tools and check "FTP server..."
-Go to Tools again and click "Open FTP client", it should ask for what to use for FTP, select WinSCP (or just manually add in your FTP client adress: 127.0.0.1, port: 1021, login: root and password: clover)
-On the left panel (= your PC) go to your \hakchi2\games_snes directory (create it if it doesnt exist), on the right panel (= your SNESC) go to /usr/share/games/
-Ignore the folders CLV-P-XXXXX (original SNES games) and CLV-S-XXXXX (folder settings) and select every other CLV-something (U=SNES, H=NES and G=Genesis), if there's none go to /usr/share/games/001/
-Once selected just right click and click "Download" to transfer the games to your PC
-Do to same for /usr/share/games/002/, /003/, etc.
-Close hakchi2 and open it again, you should now see all the added games now, to check them all easily select the 1st unchecked game, hold shift then select the last unchecked game, now check one box and it should check every other boxes, games are ready to be uploaded again! :)
Looking at the specs yours has a read speed of 10 MBS
That is criminally slow. Return it and get one that is faster.
The spec is usually on the amazon page.

Hey everyone! We've been stuck with a pretty bad Nintendo DS Emulator until now! DraStic has been ported over to the Classics systems thanks to the original programmer Exophase. Along with the help of MadMonkey and DanTheMan we now have an excellent working emulator for a TON of DS games. So far it's been discovered that games that heavily utilize the microphone are not compatible as of right now. But that still leaves a huge game library you can use on your system. Hope this was helpful!
https://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Adapter-Compact-Compatible-Smartphones/dp/B00OCBXIY8
Pretty sure this is the one everyone recommends and use including myself
I use the hori Nintendo switch controller ($25) and works perfectly (most of the time)
This is the one I use:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013ENUF0Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Works great
I use pngquant myself. There's the PNGoo batch program that works really well. I've been able to compress my files a bit more than just 60% average. Of course it depends on the amount of different colors in your image. But I've had images range between 15-30% of the original files.
Install VirtualBox from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
Then download a virtual machine of Windows 10 from https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/
No need for Mac compatibility.
I updated my shell script for *.nix users to easily convert an entire folder at once to use this new python script
https://gist.github.com/therocco/b7eca0b4c1871c667345baf0f955e8f3
#!/bin/sh
# Convert SNES ROMS from SMC to SFROM for use on SNES Classic # # NOTE: # To use this script you will need the python script ebafewuzur.py # which can be downloaded from the following link # https://hastebin.com/ebafewuzur.py # # DIRECTIONS: # 1. Save this script to the same folder you are storing your ROMs and ebafewuzur.py file and name it convert.sh # 2. Make it executable by running "chmod a+x convert.sh" in your terminal # 3. Run the script. It will remove all spaces from your ROM names and then convert them to sfrom format
find -name "* *.s?c" -type f | rename 's/ /_/g' for f in *.s?c; do echo "\"./$f\"" && python3 ebafewuzur.py ./$f ./${f%.s?c}.sfrom; done
As I commented in the original thread, I am on 38 games now, all running fine. Even the rewind function etc. The only thing that does not seem to work with ‘extra’ games is the second controller input. No input at all no matter what the .desktop file says. Anyone else?
EDIT The multiplayer issue is fixed to work if you use this script to convert your roms to .sfrom: https://hastebin.com/odoyisegan.py (not mine, can't find the author anymore) This also fixes Pilot Wings and some other games, they run fine now.
> Is there a guide to doing that or did you just wing it?
Both, actually. You follow guides and YT videos to get started and then like everything else, google for which config file does what and then fill in the blanks from there.
There are many good guides out there but check out THIS ONE and THIS ONE.
I used the Lifehacker one to get started.
> All that on an snes mini, wow!
Ok, I didn't see this part until I wrote all that stuff above. No, this was NOT from an SNES Classic. I was merely saying that with the USB hack maturing every week, we're going to get to the point where we can do this. For now, pedestrian things like folders being weird are still big hurdles.
The controller port on the minis is a proprietary Nintendo one so a usb adapter wouldn't fit. You'd need to buy a specific adapter. I don't have one myself but 8bitdo is usually the one people go for https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076B995TL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_6DS1CGXPA2E1QEDE3MTP
I use this one. I have 277 games divided into folders without any slowdowns. Boot is a little slower than stock but I believe that's to be expected.

If you use Hakchi to mod the system, the system will operate normally, except it will include the additional games you add. You can have it automatically add box art for you, or you can choose an image to display. This will use the standard emulator (called "Canoe").
The magic is when you add Retroarch, which allows you to use other emulator cores to increase the performance / customization in various ways. The standard emulator is very good at emulating Super FX chip games (Star Fox, Star Fox 2, Yoshi's Island, etc.) but not the best emulator you can use.
Dumping the kernel is how you switch out the standard one and replace it with the modified one that allows you to edit things. This is required to modify the games list.
When you use Retroarch, the system still boots normally into the game and saving will work as originally intended, with the 4 save slots, etc. It's meant to be transparent with the way it operates.
The maximum storage space can vary from system to system. When you are running Hakchi with your SNES Mini plugged into your computer, it will show the free space available in the lower right corner. You need to leave extra space for save states/rewind feature if you use the standard emulator. If you use Retroarch and (for example) the SNES9X emulator, it will still do the savestates normally.
You can increase storage space by using an OTG USB adapter, which allows you to use a USB 2.0 drive to basically add as much storage as you'd like. But there's a maximum number of files per folder (between 30 and 45, depending on most assessments).
Other information can be found, as others have said, in the various videos and other resources on the subreddit.
Good luck.
Here is the Amazon US listing for the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LTHBCNM/
This appears to be the Amazon UK listing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adaptor-Charging-Adapter-Raspberry-Android/dp/B078M3Z84Z/
One of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P8S7F8K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jzNICbZRSYKQE
You'd use it to connect a USB flash drive to your SNES to provide more storage space, but you can also use it to attach other peripherals to your SNES, like a controller or even a WiFi adapter.
feel free to use this as a resource or link it

Alternatively if you dont like the exact coloring of mine you can get the original and change the colors in photoshop.
After the first stage of install, you'll have another USB device to pass through.
If you can't pass it through quick enough, you can just choose the install option after you do.
You'll also need the virtual box extension pack from here to make it work.
I've created a package with the new WAD, to install just run:
choco install doom-sigil --version 1.1.0

Provided you have chocolatey installed.
This is great, but it's missing the US SNES icon from the original theme! Not to mention the "Classic Edition" icons for all regions. I grabbed them from the original theme(s) here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/12583/snes-mini-theme
Not yet. Maybe never. But I'm sure that if someday, someone decides to make a version of hakchi2 supported by macOS, it will have a beautiful UI. For example, is there an emulator on Windows which is as beautiful than OpenEmu? (Hint: the answer is No)
No Windows hate here, just a fact I used to notice throughout the years.
Man I've downloaded so much box art over the past few days, it's starting to get real confusing. I think at this point I'm going to wait for the dust to settle.
At the moment I'm using the Hyperspin box art for retail releases and u/full_metal_zombie's collection for translation hacks.
Roughly speaking CRC is like a unique ID for a file (there's also MD5, SHA1, etc.). The point is to be sure to have the correct version of the rom and that the patch was made for this one.
On Windows I'm personally using <strong>HashTab</strong>, its a really useful little app that adds a "Hash" tab when you're right clicking > properties on a file (like this), you can then easily check these hashes, copy them or compare them.

here is a zip with python script saved, and a batch script. it should error out on the 7zip parts, but it should convert every sfc file in the folder you extract to to sfrom.
had to put this here as your other comment was deleted?
edit: https://hastebin.com/okafopefuc.vbs ignore that batch script and use this one
Same here, been tinkering with the .desktop files but haven't had a working second player in any of my extra downloaded games.
EDIT The multiplayer issue is fixed to work if you use this script to convert your roms to .sfrom: https://hastebin.com/odoyisegan.py (not mine, can't find the author anymore) This also fixes Pilot Wings and some other games, they run fine now.
RIOT - Radical Image Optimization Tool. http://luci.criosweb.ro/riot/ It has a batch modus. You open RIOT the normal way for a single file (not batch mode), adjust the settings/options. These settings will be used in the batch mode. Open de batch mode and drag all image files on top of the program. Before you use the batch mode on your precious art work, test the results on some test samples (copies of your art work) as it can't be undone.
Thanks!
I assume you mean how long did it take? It was a lot more work then any of my other themes and at a time when I've been incredibly busy. Also I spent hours looking through the code getting distracted by interesting things and decryption .lua files looking for code that was under my nose the whole time lol
I had to make the sound clip for it myself using Audacity to find just the right section to cut and loop perfectly and even when it sounded good on my computer it may not have sounded so great on the SNES Classic.
The background I created using paint.net was also very time consuming, getting that just right required stitching, cropping, resizing, filters, changes to lighting and pixel by pixel creation of the windows.
I also spent a lot of time on features you don't actually see in this one, which I will release in future builds as I find time to work on this. And some of the issues I struggled with you may never know, like for example, you can get C8 errors by putting a single pixel in the wrong place!
The code for the Thumbnails has also been a challenge, as what works in Linux or even on the SNES Classic using putty doesn't always work on the SNES Classic as a Hakchi module.
You just get this idea in your head and think oh I can do this easily, then when you do it, you realize it doesn't work like you wanted or breaks something, or something breaks it. Like Hakchi and the overmount, or just code that's still hiding from me waiting to be found.
My OCD really got the best of me on this one, and I really didn't want to release it just yet as there's still a few things I need to fix that are bothering me, but I've been so busy I felt if I didn't release it now, it might never get done lol
This one works! After struggling for a week, this was the only way I could get my right analog stick to register.
Uncheck all games on your console and sync it so that they'll all be deleted.
Get one of these OTG USB cables -- https://www.amazon.com/Rii-Firestick-Compatible-Logitech-Keyboards/dp/B07GDBPBTR?pd_rd_w=5D0sn&pf_rd_p=49187ea8-0d55-49b4-b3d0-042e5f676c00&pf_rd_r=KHYSRAQTSR67H567JZWK&pd_rd_r=e9ecfc9f-25e8-468f-8219-91458e767f95&pd_rd_wg=ibncz&pd_rd_i=B07GDBPBTR&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_d_rp_2_i
Use a USB flash drive and the "Export to USB" in Hakchi. Then connect the flash drive using the OTG cable, and never have to worry about how much space is left on ur console again. BTW, 16GB flash drives are only $5 at Wal-Mart.
Another tip: use the portable version of Hakchi, and run it off that USB stick, that way you'll never have to worry about losing it/viruses/computer crashes, and your Hakchi installation being deleted.
This one works: Samsung 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Fit (MUF-64BB/AM) Amazon link
It's this one: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-32GBUltra-Drive-SDDD2-032G-GAM46-Black/dp/B01CVOLBPK/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1530556831
I wanted to get an Ultra Fit because I HATE flash drives with sliders but I was in a hurry to get started and didn't want to wait for it to come in from Amazon so I bought it at Walmart.
I have one bookmarked on Amazon for $85 shipped. I think that is pretty reasonable.
I've had a similar experience using by 8bitdo charge cable that came with one of those controllers. The light would go on for a second and then go off. So I switched to an Amazon Basics cable that came with their generic XBox One rechargeable battery packs and it works fine.
It's very similar to this but has a little green light on one end.
Back when I used an angled adapter, this is exactly the Amazon entry that I ordered from. It even says "You purchased this item on April 20, 2018." at the top, but I digress. Definitely sounds like they sent you the wrong adapter! I'd contact them for a return/replacement.
And personally, I'd recommend the Inateck OTG over the angled adapter, but its shortcoming is that you have to use its included power cable instead. And the power cable is just over 1 foot long. I was using a USB extension cable for awhile, but I found that I'd get random power downs and black screens, so now I just deal with having the Classic right next to the power bar.
But with the angled adapter, which I gave up on after a month and a half, had a tendency to get nudged just the slightest bit and then lose the data connection. It was an annoyance. Other people I know don't have that issue, but I wasn't alone.
Yes I use mine on my receiver. It works on the usb receiver of theirs as well. This one: 8Bitdo Wireless Bluetooth Adapter for Nintendo Switch, Windows, Mac, & Raspberry Pi https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0786JC6VW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_v4ioFb3PKFAXD
sorry you got bum controllers, but my SNESC controllers feel great all-around. You might want to consider using one of these adapters to grab an OG SNES pad. I have one and it works as advertised (i use it with a Super Famicom controller + extension cable) -- https://www.amazon.com/Hyperkin-Controller-Adapter-Classic-super-nintendo/dp/B075RMYMNH
not wireless, though
I don't know what some others peoples comments are smoking, but the SNESc handles PS1 games like a champ.
All you need is the PS1 BIOS files, a good OTG device and a fast read speed USB Drive.

My monitor doesn't have a 3.5 out for sound, so I use something like this: https://www.amazon.com/J-Tech-Digital-Premium-Extractor-Converter/dp/B00BIQER0E/
It works well enough. I use it for all my hdmi devices: Wii U, PS4, Firestick, SNESClassic.
This is the actual one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Extractor-Optical-Toslink-Converter/dp/B00KBHX072 But the one I posted before has better review ratio.
My biggest complaint is that is plugs in with a powerjack that needs to take up multiple slots. It would be swell if it were USB powered. Let me know if you have any questions?
There it is!

i thought its pretty solid. But it seems all OTG Adapter have some quality problems.
AuviPal 2-in-1 Micro USB to USB... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FY9Z9GD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This is what I have used on 5+ NES and SNES minis if you’re looking for something that has been tested and works.
The uninstall process with hakchi CE is very simple: click Kernel > Uninstall and it will restore the system to stock. It will not remove any saved games you made, so they'll be sitting in storage inaccessible to you until you reinstall the kernel.
I've seen people recommend this OTG adapter. There is also this simple one made by AuviPal. I'd recommend the one I use by Inatek, but the newer versions of that one don't work with the system anymore, so that's out, unfortunately.
Thank you so much for your input. I really appreciate it. This community has taught me so much over years I’ve been following it.
May I ask if you’ve used the one linked? Another one I’ve looked at with positive feedback is the the following:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rii-Compatible-Keyboards-Logitech-Nintendo/dp/B07M83762Y
Between the two, I’m not entirely sure as to which one to go with here.
Moreover, can I also ask what type of USB hub I should consider getting? Any given model/brand in particular?
I’ve never had a direct need for these accessories in the last so I do apologize if I’m not entirely up to speed with their capabilities.
Honestly, the brand doesn't matter, anything like this should be fine. Maybe just take a look at the reviews first.

This type of otg is better than the little box-like adapters cuz they dont put any weight on the port. I use ones like this for my snes and ps1 classics and they work well, never had an issue.
You could try this silver epoxy. I used to work in a lab. We used this to electrically connect piezoelectric crystals to a circuit board. You can’t solder to it, but maybe you can use it to reattach the solder pad electrically, then solder back to the pad. Or use the silver epoxy to make your connections in place of solder. Do you have a recommendation?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013ENUF0Y?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

This is what I used.
You're good, man. The SNES/NES mini's have 512Mb of NAND flash memory, which is only partially filled by the default OS and games. There's extra onboard space to add games, but if you buy one of [these](https://www.amazon.com/Fun-Home-Female-Adapter-SamSung-Features/dp/B013ENUF0Y/) you can also use a usb flash drive or external HDD.
Just incase this inspired anyone there are ~$25 [raspberry pi cases](retroflag raspberry pi case superpi case with safe shutdown for raspberry pi case u case new version (purple) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W5L95KK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_A2PXJYP88B0X5QSTY0S6) on Amazon that would likely work better for this kind of thing and wouldn't destroy a rare item like SNES classic
I solved this issue with the following steps;
1- Downloaded the latest version of VirtualBox (5.2.4)
2 - Then installed the VirtualBox 5.2.4 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack (https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads) which includes usb 3 support.
3 - Then in settings of your windows vm > ports > usb > select USB 3.0 (xHCI) controller, click ok. (Your VM will need to be powered off)
4 - Launch your Windows VM, add games/sync, turn on your Nintendo when prompted by hakchi, in the toolbar of virtual box, select devices > USB > you should see your Nintendo in the list, select it (You can also add this in settings, under ports > USB )
5 - Roms will now sync
Hope this helps
no it's not but you could try downloading Virtualbox which is free https://www.virtualbox.org/
MS have evaluation images which are free as well https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/virtual-machines
I haven't used the vmware method but it should work
So doing a quick search I found where this was asked elsewhere, https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/61/simpsons-2-player-mame-rom-help
It makes mention of the solution you have as well as an app called clrmamepro which will merge the two into one file.
mGBA is a GBA emulator ported to retroarch cores for SNES mini (not just a gameboy emulator), and it's a recently added feature.
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/17690/solved-lr-mgba-and-super-gameboy-emulation/16
If you aren't able to get yourself a copy of Photoshop or another commercial program similar, you can download GIMP which is completely free!
GIMP isn't super intuitive but it works quite well; https://www.gimp.org/downloads/
What I usually do for arcade games with the default FBA core:
If it doesnt work you can try with a MAME core, in this case don't forget to change the /bin/* in command line.
oh my god it's happening. This is astoundingly awesome. I'm in the middle of a wolf mod so playing it on the SNESc is def butter on the bread
You have insight on how this game boots up... will it accept Split Wolf into the SNESc with the work you've done and run the Splitscreen Wolfenstein? Thanks for this.
Okay, this thread is derailing in real time.
I presume you're a windows user by statistics, so your best bet is SNES9x.
I've been using it on desktop since storing a game, emulator and save file in a zip on a floppy so you could play tetris in between classes in the library was bleeding edge tech.
And it's been ported to native 64-bit for years now, and I hear net play is working again.

Ha ha ha ha...
And here I thought I was a weirdo for wishing it were possible to port over some ren'py games and compress the art so the size would be small and make the menus work with the gamepad...
Sadly unless the homebrew scene gets inspired what there is, is what there is.
https://hastebin.com/ebafewuzur.py
use this one its been fixed, use it like you did the original python script. you have to reconvert your roms but the header info is now fixed to allow second player.
DOSBox is about as close as you'll get to running x86 games on a SNES Mini. Keep in mind DOSBox will only run games released for DOS, it won't run Windows games.
Wait what?
Its not possible to play Dos games with more then 1 (floppy)disk?
Also thanks alot for your youtube videos. They helped me alot!
Edit: Can DosBox hmod be configured in any way? Theres something called IMGMOUNT that should allow us to mount more then one disk https://www.dosbox.com/wiki/IMGMOUNT
Sure. Here you go.
They should work on any version since they sit in the space intended for the "wii extension" controller ports which should be identical on all versions. I printed mine in PLA using no support/brim/raft at a layer height of 0.2 (slow/low speed).
Web version: \Documents\hakchi2\user_mods\music_hack.hmod
Portable version: \hakchi2\user_mods\music_hack.hmod
Find the folder.
Replace the 'music.wav' file with a PCM wave file. ( Audacity works great for that.)
Install the music mode via hakchi2.
Done
There is a work around for that if you add the shaders in this link to your system:
Use the latest Gambatte core from KMFD Maniac's Core set. After you load up a gameboy or gameboy color game in Gambatte, load the shader you want to make it look like it's on a super gameboy with border.
Included in that zip are a couple of different SGB borders. All the super gameboy ones start with SGB____. For example Pokemon Yellow is sgb-pokemonyellow.glslp and Pokemon Gold is sgb-pokemongold.glslp (the accompanied image .png is in the default folder within the shaders folder).
The benefit to doing it this way as opposed to running in an actual super gameboy mode is that gameboy color games will have full color as well as the border.
You can see a video of KMFD demonstrating Gambatte and this feature here:
I don't know why people are downvoting u/silverfaustx beside the fact that it's not exactly what OP was asking. But I agree that their method works if you want to expand the amount of memory and therefore expand the amount of games.
With that said, the cable it uses is a basic phone cable that has been used for at least the past 10 years. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HRVABD0/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_Q1CTK8KKD7G1NDQZ27YS
Not sure if it'll show up for the UK but something like that plug. Or the UK version is different. Not sure. But that's what mine takes. Hope it helps.
My mini has a 32GB flash drive with more games than I'll ever play BTW. Worth a thought if that's what you're wanting next.
Ugh. I wish we could just insert pictures on Reddit. If I was smart, I would have just put a link to the Amazon page: Fun-Home Left Angle USB 2.0 Micro Male to USB Female Host OTG Adapter for SamSung, Firestick,PlayStation Classic,Snes Mini,Nes/Snes Classic,Chromecast and More Smartphone or Tablet With Power Features https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013ENUF0Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_XTJ7EZR90H8X9KVXT2DX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I’m using everything that came with it, the USB cable that came with it and the the USB power adapter that came out of the box, plugged into a surge protector. I think the reason it powers off and gives me errors is due to something being off with the emulator/kernel, although I have completely reset it and started from scratch twice already.
I’m using a PNY 32GB USB stick. I have the same issue once in awhile. I think it’s more the power of the SNES Classic than the USB stick. I’m also thinking it’s because I have 6 different systems and about 3000 titles it has to go though. I’m sure the more games you add the slower it gets.
All right, thanks. Here's a link to the product, if that helps?

Short answer, if it were the bluetooth version yes, with the 8bitdo bluetooth adapter. (for anyone else coming across this later through a search, this is what you need if you own the bluetooth version https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Retro-Receiver-Classic-Bluetooth-nintendo/dp/B076B995TL/ )
However the version you linked is the 2.4ghz version.
I can't answer for sure, but you may be able to connect what you have via usb using a OTG usb hub (a few are compatible with the snes mini but most have issues.)
A known working hub is this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OCBXIY8/

How does the sumuya one compare to the botain one above? It seems the sumuya one has a disclaimer not to use a power supply greater than 2amp and the botain comes with a usb charging cable and seems you can use a 5v/4amp supply if needed?
How does suyama below compare to the botain?
I know the sumuya has a disclaimer that it doesn’t support This OTG HUB Adapter does not support “Fast Charger”(Voltage>5V or Current>2A),otherwise the OTG HUB Adapter will heat up and burn out. That concerns me a bit since I want to use a 5v/4amp or 5v/2.5amp at a minimum. The botain below doesn’t have this disclaimer and comes with a Charging cable
I like the generic otg posted above but can it handle 5v/4amp? Also what are the switches 1,2,3 on the side? I can’t find this model on amazon though

Ordered these from Amazon and I was up and working with 700+ games in my SNES in about an hour.

UCEC Micro USB OTG Adapter - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WO4CDFK?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
I use this one and have no problems, I've unplugged and plugged it in hundreds of times with no problem
I am using the AuviPal OTG from Amazon. It came in a two pack and with trying them both out I still was not successful. I went ahead and chose this based off the reviews from other people using it for Classic Systems.
Please avoid posting Amazon Super links as you have, they should be trimmed down as follows:

I'm going to take a wild guess and say you have too many games installed in one folder.
Click the Structure button and use the custom folder manager to limit titles to around 35-40 games per folder for optimal results.
As generic as can be, no wire management, works like charm

To reduce stress on the micro usb port of the mini, I'm gonna get magnetic usb cables. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XG6CM75 I then just need a female to female usb adapter to connect the USB cable with the otg hub.
I've been using this (found it suggested in a similar thread)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07855LJ99/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
so far no issues
There are other otg adapters such as this one that I think I would try (I do not own it) and you would need to get a usb microsd reader separately to use with it. It would also at least use an existing standard microusb cable to power it as well, which the Inateck does not do. (barrel plug that may be hard to find)
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VVNNQ8Q
If you have an Inateck adapter then it is pretty easy to pry it open with your hands around the sd card slot. The little lip near the wire is annoying as it will hug on the case and is either taped or glued on, but whether it comes off or snaps it isn't that noticeable imo that it was ever tampered with. The diode will be obvious as it is a black looking chip inside near the power plug, if it is there.
ohhh, yea, I'm sorry I forgot to mention that you will need an adequate power supply to support the overclock. Some chips can do without it but in many cases, the resetting issue and random crashing occurs because there's not enougn power being supplied consistently to your console.
So, to rectify this, I purchased this exact "Obdok" mini USB power block (made especially for Rpi builds) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0719SX3GC/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=AIDH4D2DQX4RX&psc=1
to supplement the power needed to support my overclock. I used to use Easy Overclock but have since decided to just use the extreme version, so I don't have to keep flipping it on manually.
I used to suffer from the same symptoms. Constant random crashing and endless rebooting cycles, etc. Once I replaced the OEM power supply with this one, everything worked out nicely. :)
The power block that comes with your system is rated at 5v 1.5a. The Obdok block is rated at 5v 2.5a. It's safe to use. Won't fry anything. I've been using it now for several months.
It could also possibly be your power supply, overclocking sucks up a lot of juice, and you’re gonna want at least a power supply rated at 5v 2.4a minimum. This one seems to be popular: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0719SX3GC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Did it reset and crash on you constantly? It did the same to mine until I bought a more adequate power supply rated at 5v 2.5a. The stock power supply is 5v 1.5a. I no longer experience random crashing nor sudden resetting or startup locks. :) The power supply I'm referring to is this one here. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0719SX3GC/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=AIDH4D2DQX4RX&psc=1
If you're looking for a more flexible adapter, I've been using this for months. However, haven't tried it on a snesmini, just a fire tablet with wireless snes controllers. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LTHBCNM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use this one myself.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GDBPBTR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Works perfectly. :)
I've been using the following for years now. I think it's still the best thumbstick in it's class with the highest Read speeds which is something you want, especially for large CD based games.

Those octopus adapters are shit, you're better of getting something like this https://www.amazon.com/SUYAMA-Adapter-All-New-Nintendo-Playstation/dp/B07VVNNQ8Q
4 USB ports, solid quality, they will do.
Maybe. I do remember Patton saying they were fragile and to order two of them though, so I’d try another. Mines the Tusita one.

I have this one, but I bought it years ago to play SNES games on my MacBook and I didn’t pay more than $15. Buffalo iBuffalo Classic USB Gamepad for PC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002B9XB0E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_cKEkFbANS8Z0E there are plenty on there, just look around.
Gamecube controller is pretty good, this is the one I use for a lot of N64 games. It has Wiimote plug instead of GC. I found one used. The cord is extremely short though,
I’ve heard a lot of people have issues with the 90° OTG, I have the one “Patton Plays” recommend and it works great. I have a set I got from lowes similar to this that you can possibly price match to the amazon listing (or just order it from amazon). I may actually pick up the newer version just so I have another one lol
