With this new release, we're fixing a bug that was reported on the forums. While we were at it, we added a new feature: Animated Wheels.
SWF wheels are animated wheels using the SWF format which can be created using Adobe Flash or Adobe Animate. The output SWF file can be placed in the wheel image directory just like other PNG images. Wherever there exists a PNG wheel image and a SWF wheel image with the same name, the SWF will take priority when showing on the wheel. SWF wheel items will load and be initially paused on the first frame while spinning the wheel. When you land on a menu item there will be a brief delay, then the SWF will begin playback.
Changelog:
Animated Wheels
Windows 10 (1803) Support

It's a good effort, but I agree. Get a PC in there, bigger monitor, and a two player control setup. Then get a frontend like hyperspin and make that bitch shine.
$400 dollars to put a $20 game in a big box...not worth it IMO.
I have 4:3 themes on a 16:9 screen. How/where do I get 16:9 themes? There's this: http://hyperspin-fe.com/files/category/444-game-themes-169/
But I want to download all of MAME at once.
This guy has an arcade cabinet with a pretty cool rotating CRT setup (around halfway down the page). If you can de-case the TV you could mount it at the four corners like he did.
http://hyperspin-fe.com/forums/topic/1543-my-first-arcade-build-rotating-crt-more/
In case you aren't aware there are quite a few programs that do this sort of thing for you already.
HyperSpin is a very popular but a bit time consuming to setup and has high system requirements but I have to admit it looks damn good when you get it all setup. Personally I like mGalaxy as it's very easy to setup and has features the others lack.
You might want to check out /r/cade and /r/mame as they are both pretty good sources of info on arcade cabinets.
The GUI in the video looks like hyperspin. http://hyperspin-fe.com/ It requires a decent amount of setup to get working just right, but the results are fantastic. I'm currently converting my macbook (windows partitioned) into an emulation box with it.
Hyperspin provides a tool that downloads all the art assets for pretty much every game ever, so you can preview the games as you scroll through. You can also pay around $100 and have it auto sync all that stuff for you, or just find all the videos/art you want manually (which would take a long ass time, but is definitely possible.) I highly recommend it if you're looking to impress some friends with your setup!
Hyperspin is awesome. Here is a video of it with some MAME games. This guy used it for his "NES PC". It takes a little bit of time to set up, but it's worth it.
Your performance will depend on the laptop specs but as long as it has a decent processor you should be able to run most things smoothly.
For controllers you can either buy usb adapters if you want to use original controllers or you can get a computer game pad, I would recommend Logitech. For MAME you can get USB fight sticks made for consoles and they usually have drivers for windows, at least the ones made by HORI usually do.
For hooking it up to the TV you're kind of limited. If your laptop doesn't have something like an S-Video output or your TV doesn't have a VGA input your only real option is to get a VGA to Composite/S-Video converter.
Front ends are kind of optional but if you want to hide everything you could try something like Hyperspin, it's kind of a pain to set up but it looks great once it is. There's also other front ends that support multiple emulators but I don't really have much experience with them, you would have to look around.
Don’s Hyperspin Tools will allow you to filter by category and control type etc. I believe you need to register with the Hyperspin site (free) to be allowed to download it.
I haven't personally used these (but I plan on trying them out):
Man I've downloaded so much box art over the past few days, it's starting to get real confusing. I think at this point I'm going to wait for the dust to settle.
At the moment I'm using the Hyperspin box art for retail releases and u/full_metal_zombie's collection for translation hacks.
Get hyperspin from here http://hyperspin-fe.com/. You will want to get the emulators for their respective sites, just do a google search. Roms will also be dependent on the emulator and might also work zipped. Your wii emulators won't work, but you might be able to use the roms if they aren't hard coded into the dol. Check out the hyperspin forums for more info.

Mamewah is a similar frontend software.
I'm in the middle of putting together a similar system, although just using an old Dell Pentium 4 system not a custom SNES box.
Not sure about hyperspin, but mamewah is free.
What? Tons of these exist. HyperSpin is popular, Maximus Arcade is good too, and there are plenty of others to look into. The term the OP needs to know to be able to google for these is "emulator frontend".
I think in your situation, Hyperspin would be a lot more appropriate.
It's a bitch and a half to get all set up but afterwards to have the kind of launcher you'd find in a proper arcade.
Well, finding emulators for those consoles is hard even on PC, but I think I've found a website that lists Android emulators for old consoles: http://hyperspin-fe.com/forums/topic/25159-android-working-systems-list/
I took a quick look and I saw some of the emulators for the consoles you mentioned
I can't help you anymore because I'm too young to even know about those consoles.
A little workaround but I'll definitely try. Thank you for the reply
EDIT: Got it: Using http://hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/11763-hyperspin-checker/
FIRST OF ALL: Make a backup of everything before proceeding in case you mess it up.
Configure the paths so it can read your hyperspin folder
Then delete all the roms you don't want
Then in the summary tab select your system and then select check
When the system loads, check that it correctly shows your missing roms and then click "crop XML to only found games"
Then, clicking on "Move unneded roms or media to subfolder" it'll move the selected item (roms, videos, arts) to a subfolder named "unneeded".
Not very clean, but it does the job.
Thank you /u/CC_Andyman for pointing out.
Look up Hyperspin, I have a setup on my system and it's easily the best emulator experience:
To clarify, it's not an emulator per se, it's a frontend for your emulator (typically Retro Arch) that makes browsing for your games across multiple systems much better.
Great question, I haven’t done this yet but here are some good ones to get you started. I may do these next as I realize I’m doing mostly advance ones right now. Subscribe to stay tuned!

> HyperSpin is a frontend, it is not a game or an emulator. A frontend is a menu system that can launch other programs and emulators from one menu. Without a frontend you would have to individually launch each program in Windows. If you're using an emulator you would also have to find and launch the games you want to play. HyperSpin simplifies that process by using a system of menus to launch your games.
Looks like it does what EmulationStation does in RetroPie. Makes launching emulators easier. Interesting!
It seems to hard to find a good set of 16x9 bezels for MAME that does not require Retroarch or Rocket Launcher. I really like the ones shown in this Hyperspin thread...
http://hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/11711-griffin518s-best-of-mame-bezel-pack/
Though, I really don't want to start piggy backing more programs like Retroarch and Rocketlauncher if its not needed. I plan on using Launchbox once I get all the bezels set in MAME.
Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
Well if you use LaunchBox, it scrapes data from EmuMovies and also from the LaunchBox Database ( https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/ )...
They also have a download section in their Forum:
https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/
Hyperspin has a download section here:
http://hyperspin-fe.com/files/category/29-console-systems/
(they also have a premium member only download section, no idea if that is worth it, the site is terribly slow for me anyway)
Also, I might add that HyperSpin has no issue separating/categorizing handhelds or other systems from “normal” (arcade?) games. You just set them up as separate main wheels. Very simple.
Then within rocket launcher you just choose MAME as the emulator. What you’re asking for is probably the easiest thing to get up and running in HyperSpin.
Check it out at http://HyperSpin-FE.com
Dont know if that would be helpful or not
Let me know if you need help, I never used a Nvidia shield before but I know Hyperspin well, we should be able to figure it out
Yes, both of the things you want to do are possible.
Here is the screensaver application: http://hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/13784-universal-screensaver/
The attact mode is in HyperHq, not rocketlauncher. Nothing in HyperSpin in controlled by RL, they are separate programs. I am not at home right now so this is from memory but in the HyperHQ program under main settings, there should be should be a tab called Attract. There should be a radio button that disables the attract mode.
DO NOT ENABLE JOYSTICKS IN HYPERHQ.
This is a known bug. You have to either use the HyperSpin Startup Script or joy2key. You cannot use the settings in HyperHQ.
http://hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/7415-hyperspin-startup-script/
No, you can add tons of systems (emulators) and also launch apps and pc games with it. It takes a little patience to get the hang of it and to learn how to configure stuff but it's really impressive.
Here is a hyperspin setup configured to play Genesis games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5TU-993T5w
I suggest, for anyone interested, to head over http://hyperspin-fe.com for more information.
Ah, Never used that.. Been using Hyperspin as a frontend here. There's scads of hyperspin demos out there. (Shameless plug warning)
Great frontend if I do say so myself.
Edit:
Link Mistake
Well, it is fairly complete, but the interfaces (and skins) appear to be a bit too "aggro" for my taste. I really like Maximus' calmer, refined interface.
Maximus: http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0229/1739/products/hqdefault_1024x1024.jpg
Hyperspin: http://hyperspin-fe.com/images/hs/Interface_001.png
If you're planning on using it just to run them then i would definitely reccomend Hyperspin for the front end, i don't have a stand alone pc for it yet but i've been using it on my usual pc and it's great.
There is also a lot of support in the forums in regards to which emulators to use and how to set each of them up.
I use RomShelf. It's pretty lightweight, can be controlled with a gamepad, and looks nice. There isn't a lot of documentation for it, but it's pretty simple to set up (unlike a lot of others.) You have to have your ROM named exactly the same as the screenshot file for the screenshot to display. Not all games have screenshots, but you can manually add those.
Hyperspin looks really nice, but I had trouble getting it to recognize all of my ROMs. There is a tool to fix all the names of them but it never really worked for me.
There is also GameEx. I tried this one and didn't really like it. It has a splash screen that takes forever to go away, asking you to buy it, and I think it's kind of ugly looking.
I am kind of in the same boat as you, using RomShelf for now and switching if something better comes out.
You'll probably want to look for something called an "arcade frontend", because people generally use these on things like MAME cabinets.
Hyperspin is nice, but somewhat "heavy", shouldn't be an issue if you have a decently powerful PC. Maximus Arcade is also quite good, but not free. There are many other options too like MaLa, Gamex, etc.
