Here comes some dev promotion: we developed a free browser casting app for Android which can be used with Chromecast. The key difference to tab casting is that you remotely control the display with your mobile by using it as a pointer and input device so you can always keep your eyes on the big display. Appreciate any kind of feedback (especially bug reports ;-)). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nyomalabs.broca
> Would you like me to move the bottom bar to the top,
No, I was thinking more like tabs button in top bar, media and home in the menu. So the duplicate buttons (back, edit URL) are removed and others are placed elsewhere.
Maybe media button could replace cast button too, making cast button appear in the media view when you actually have something to cast.
>with all the tabs visible when you scroll down the address bar?
Swiping it down for tabs appear would be cool, why not.
>Or would you like the tabs to be opened in a separate window, like other browsers?
Well, as I was writing previously, if you'd do it in a separate window, why not combine it with apps like Chrome used to do?
There weren't too many people that liked it but those who did, don't have much alternative browsers to try, so yours could be one of them. This is how it worked and this is the API.
> Asking the storage permission when opening the app is just a workaround for now to avoid all the complexity of checking runtime permission when users can start downloading from any places. But I will definitely fix this one in next releases.
Heh, okay.
> Is there any websites that you want me to add support to?
I actually haven't tried casting anything with it, just reviewed it from a browser perspective. But if you want some ideas on what to do in the future, maybe you could implement casting whole pages, like Chrome on desktop and this cool app.
