When the google calendar changed a few months back I quickly figured out the whole artsy thing didn't work for me. For a while I used the apk of the previous version but finally went with this-
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.concentriclivers.calendar
I like it (old google calendar icon looked better but whatever), but it only seems to properly sync if I have the google version installed.
I've no idea what android version I was running prior, just that after a week of delaying the 6.0.1 update I missed it and my droid turbo took it upon itself to update, then the stock "calendar" app on my home screen was replaced with "google calendar", and that it was completely blank.
previously I was using whatever this one was with the vertical scrolling rather than horizontal.
I tried downloading this "4.4 calendar" but it is also blank.
For fucks sake, finally! (I know it was said in the most top-voted comment but I just had to actually write it down and post it... So cathartic! :) ) Shoot, now that I look at the article it's just a month view like iOS has and not the same as it used to be where the slots were shown at different times in the day. Shitty. Anyway, you can just use Calendar from Android 4.1 for the old functionality. It's what I've been using since I discovered it existed.
I have been using Calendar from Android 4.1 basically just a port of the stock calendar to Google Play for devices that don't include the stock calendar.
