For Canadian weather I use this one called Canada Weather. It's not super fancy or anything, but it has a decent forecast widget and pulls data from Environment Canada, so it's not likely to get shut down anytime soon.
> qui n'a pas meteomerdia?
J'utilise Météo Canada, il ne contient aucun cochonerie. Taille de l'application est 4 mo, et ne prends presque pas de CPU ou mémoire :
If you're in Canada, the Canada Weather & Radar app is excellent. Configurable widget for Environment Canada current and forecast weather plus weather radar. Also free with no ads. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.fwe.caweather
This is what I use... the app pulls data directly from Environment Canada. Provides a link to jump to their website if you want more info too.
Is also ad free..
It's the only one that seems to give me consistent and reliable notifications of weather warnings. Also has an OK widget, but the UI in the app itself is really basic and it has almost no advanced features.
I prefer this one
The widget is great, shows all the useful information without being crowded, has weather warnings, and I find that Environment Canada's weather predictions are closer to what actually happens than The Weather Network. Plus no ads :)
Don't have a suggestion just want to say I completely agree. I've never loved the Weather Network app but didn't hate it either. The latest design has finally got me to change, it's so terrible now. I'll probably try out all the ones mentioned here to see what I like best.
Edit: Actually I have one suggestion, it's not fantastic but it's worth a look: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.fwe.caweather&hl=en
I highly recommend Canada Weather, it literally just pulls info from Environment Canada, no other bs.
Gets data straight from environment Canada. It's fast, small and has no ads
Here ya go! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.fwe.caweather
Check the Canada Weather app for Android, it pulls its data from Environment Canada and it's free. Great app.
This. Straight up weather and radar from Environment Canada. Plus, I get alerts when there's a warning or advisory.
PIS SUR MOBILE METEO CANADA QUI UTILISE EXACTEMENT LES MÊMES DONNÉES.
Check out "Canada Weather & Radar"
Canada Weather and Radar provides forecasts from Environment Canada.
Canada Weather & Radar
Yep, I agree from the larger companies but ITT there have surfaced several great examples of free, IAP, or, subscription services.
Check out these:
Météo (iOS / optional IAP)
Canada Weather & Radar (Android / Open Source, might be a "hobby project"?).
Weather Line (iOS / My fav, paid upfront)
So many other great ones. It might be the most well-developed app category.
I thought this was the EC weather app
I hate the user interface in this app. I much prefer Canada Weather & Radar.
Here. A weather app with purely data from Environment Canada, in a nice readable format, and no ads. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.fwe.caweather
I use this app.
It uses the governments radars.
The one with the Canadian flag as the icon.
I use this one which sources its data from Environment Canada. Would recommend.
