Hello!
I'm the developer of Checkbook Plus, a material design inspired Checkbook app. I was tired of all the old looking Checkbook apps that hadn't seen an update since 2.3, and decided to do something about it.
The app is designed to make it quick and painless to record your transactions. Premium users get access to home screen widgets, can select a default account to open to for faster access, security pins, no ads, etc.
The app also supports searching and setting up recurring transactions (for free!) so you don't have to input bills and other regular expenses manually.
Let me know what you think! And if you have any issues, please contact me here, via email through the app, or on the Google+ page (link in the Settings)
Checkbook Plus is a Material-design-compliant checkbook app designed around speed. The whole idea is to get your transactions recorded quickly to get you back to whatever you were doing. The interface is simple to use, and there's lots of convenience features in the premium version to make things even easier (widgets being the biggest one).
I'm the developer, so feel free to message me/comment here with questions/concerns/feedback/requests/help/etc. Thanks!
What? Who ever said anything about paper? Or that I don't track my money?
I actually wrote one of the most popular Checkbook apps on the Google Play Store.
I'm advocating for tracking your money yourself because banks won't show you the true amount in real time. Nothing more, nothing less. No idea why you had to get so hostile about it out of no where.
First: Full disclosure, I am the developer of this app. I'm not posting this here to push the app, but rather to respond to this person because the app was specifically designed for exactly this use case.
I wrote Checkbook Plus to solve this problem the best I could. I do use mint but the fact that bank transactions take days to clear made balancing the day to day stuff a challenge. So I use my app to log every transaction the second I use my cards. If I can't do it that second (blocking a line, running late, etc) I ALWAYS get a receipt and keep it in the same pocket as my phone until I can log it. I then resolve the pending transactions against my bank statement twice a month when I do bills.
It's helped me immensely with the day to day spending. I designed the app to be as quick and easy to use and I put a lot of thought into minimizing the number of clicks to log something. It even has home screen widgets so you don't even have to open the app to log things. It has recurring transactions for bills and things on a predictable cadence, and a separate lock screen for the extra paranoid :)
Again, not advertising per se, but the question was for the lowest effort solution, and so far I haven't found one.
Hello!
I'm the creator of Checkbook Plus, a material-design inspired Checkbook app. Would love any feedback on the app, features (existing or missing), the experience, etc. Thank you!
Hey thanks so much for offering this!
My app is Checkbook Plus and I'd love some feedback if you have time. I've tried to follow material guidelines as close as I can, but if there's anything i should or shouldn't be doing based on your experience I'd love to know!
Hey all! I've been using Android for years, and for years I've wanted a well-designed, good looking checkbook app. And for years, I was disappointed to find nothing but 2.0-era apps that looked ancient and /or were clunky and hard to use.
So I wrote my own! Checkbook Plus is a simple Checkbooking application that adheres to Material Design principles. It's not bloated with a ton of unnecessary features, but rather focuses on doing one thing and one thing well; letting you quickly enter your transactions and showing you your balances.
By far my favorite feature (and the feature no other checkbook apps seem to have) are the homescreen widgets, which allow you to very easily review and add your transactions without having to go into the app. I use them every day and honestly, having widgets made all the effort of writing the app worth it.
The base app is free, though some features do require a premium unlock. You can check out the app listing for a full list of what features are and are not available with the free version.
If you enjoy the app, please leave a review! And if you're having any issues, or would like to see a feature that doesn't exist, please CONTACT ME either here or through the play store's e-mail link, NOT through the review system!
Thanks!
Gotta take the opportunity to plug my mobile app, Checkbook Plus. It's designed to be a fast and easy way to manage your day to day balance. Every feature I added was made with convenience as a primary goal. I just found it easier than managing Excel sheets and other apps either didn't have all the features I wanted or were too bloated with stuff I didn't want. Might be worth trying out :)
