I would add, under Play Store Listing, Clean Status Bar. Seems like you can ignore the low 3.5 star rating, it's from people who thought it was a skin, despite saying in giant bold font that it's just an overlay, meant only for developers.
It puts an overlay over your status bar for taking screenshots, and lets you change different aspects such as the displayed time, battery, wifi, etc.
Actually, on Android, we have tools like Clean Status Bar and the Device Art Generator which makes screenshots quite easy.
Beyond that, it would be on the designer's part to layout text and whatever that goes around it, even though that's not recommended by Google:
> Do not use graphics created here in your 1024x500 feature image or screenshots for your Google Play app listing
Device screenshots are supposed to be raw from the device, without any alterations or external stuff added, which unfortunately defeats the purpose of such a tool for Android. But I will note that quite a lot of apps do not follow the recommendations.
The top answer gives it but it's worth checking out this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emmaguy.cleanstatusbar
if you're taking screenshots from your phone, rather than the emulator. It'll clean the status bar for you nicely!
This is by far the dumbest request I've seen. But you're obviously not alone.
Incidentally, developers can use the excellent Clean Status Bar app to capture screenshots for the Play Store.
Or, you could use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emmaguy.cleanstatusbar&hl=en for that clean status bar look.
If it's only to take cleaner screenshots then you can use this:

There is an app that does this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emmaguy.cleanstatusbar
There's an app for that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emmaguy.cleanstatusbar
