I was looking for a comic book reader this week and happened to see a thread on one and it's perfect:
Simple nice UI, but the biggest draw is that it detects all the panels in the comic so that you can read it panel by panel. Which makes reading on my phone (4.6" screen) much much easier.
Same apps work IMO.
Because it reads every single vignette as a full image and I dont have to zoom in/out unlike in the "big" apps
Where I live, comic books are pretty rare and my computer is really bad and doesn't have much memory so I get digital comics and read them only on my phone. I use this app, it's pretty good (it's not perfect but it's better than most):
Limit brightness. I know it sucks to use a external light but brightness is one of the main issues for eye straining.
I like this comic app. It has automatic panel detection which means no issues for zooming and getting the most out of the devices screen but there is no perfect comic app.
You may feel that automatic panel detection which I love makes you switch from one panel to the next one way too frequently. so you may want something like this
I like moonreader pro+ for books as it has many configuration options you can go through to make it work as you want it too if you are willing to put in the time(change page shift effect and speed, configure gestures for dictionary lookup within the app and changing font size for example...). .
I've started getting into graphic novels and started reading Walking Dead and Locke and Key. I've been enjoying Comic Time - [link].
It has a panel detection feature that zooms in on each panel and goes to the next panel with a swipe. So far it has scanned and worked with 95% of the issues I've read. You can manually adjust the panel and zoom out a little if dialogue bubble is out of the panel.
Comic Time, it has panel-by-panel guided view and it's free [link]
With Comic Time you can read any scanned or digital comic (cbr/cbz) with panel-by-panel guided view ;)
I meant this one - Comic Time Reader
Looks good, but you need to up your game and implement some panel detection like [link]
