I've no idea why they do not support this but you can add emojis to contact names in the Contacts Optimizer app, this syncs instantly do you can see the emojis in your Samsung contacts.

Well, you could install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compelson.optimizer
It has a feature called "internationalization" , where it will add the country code to every number.
The downside, that app is not free, but it's an excellent app.
I know of no way to ignore the country code, sorry.
Not your answer but if it helps, apps like Contacts Optimizer allow for processing unresolved numbers in such a manner.
Shit mate, I found the perfect solution. Writing it down here if someone else stumbles upon.
Unfortunately not open source and also there's a paid version. But the free version can show you previews on what it would do.
It doesn't only merge contacts, it looks for missing data, duplicates, capitalization, country codes in numbers (if missing), empty contact name and more.
Was totally worth the few bucks. :)

What are the three different apps that you are referring to that have different contact lists? Some apps just have their own separate list, like Snapchat for example.
In date. You mean up to date?
With Android typically you want to have all your contacts on your Google account. That way when you get a new phone you just need to log into your Google account and everything is there. I'm going to take a quick look in the App Store to see if there are any apps that manage contacts and consolidate them into the Google account
Not sure if it's any good but here's an option

I made one huge vcf file from many small ones. http://www.topalt.com/content/how-merge-multiple-vcard-files-one-file
Imported them in android contacts app.
And used this, to remove duplicates and optimize contacts. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compelson.optimizer
Google Play needs to only show reviews for the most recent version. I used this app that recently updated and made the app useless unless you buy the paid version. It still have like a 4.5 rating though because it used to be awesome. So now I am going through all the reviews making all the 1 star ones helpful and 5 stars unhelpful.

Also worth having a look at Contacts Optimizer.
Contacts optimizer just 459KB but very useful app. App link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compelson.optimizer
Good app to find duplicates and delete while also cleaning up contacts - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compelson.optimizer
The free one does the deduplication quite well on phone on a per account basis.

Contacts optimizer may help. It has a bunch of bulk actions to clean up contact lists.
Well there are some contacts sorting and merging apps, such as Contacts Optimizer and Contacts+ (or other apps you could find just by searching "contacts" on the app store).
BTW if you want to backup and restore MCBackup is easily the best app for that!
