Joist is written almost entirely in Kotlin. We started on it (total ground-up rewrite) at the end of 2013 so we saw the language change a lot under our feet, but if you were thinking of switching to Kotlin I'd say that there's no better time than now.

i hope that makes sense...ideally i'd just like to have my droid conneted to the printer so i can just type in info as we do the job, and then hit print and spit out two copies of an invoice...if such an app exsists

if thats not possible i suppose i could bring my laptop too, if i have to connect my phone to my laptop first to save the data and have it print out in invoice form ...but phone to printer would obvously be the most convenient. then at the end of the day maybe import the data onto my laptop when im doing end of day record/accounting stuff?

my main question is...does an android app similar to this idea already exist?

it would be a bonus for the time if/when i start doing electronic billing i could integrate it that way too. if it doesn't exsist already, can someone smarter than me make this? i'm sure it'd make you a millionaire hahah

We migrated Joist to Kotlin during a large redesign that we started back in December. The new build has been out for about a month (~50,000 users). Developing in Kotlin was an absolute dream. Its development is moving fast, however, so you can expect to have to update your code fairly frequently as they change syntax, deprecate things, etc. Luckily they tend to make this very easy with quick fix options in Android Studio that you can apply across your entire project.
