I ran into the same issue, api.permutive.com was getting x10 the number of blocks than the next domain. My phone when I was asleep was connecting to it every 30s resulting in 100,000s connections.
I installed a Firewall on my phone and I'm almost positive it is the Daily Mail news app here
I've uninstalled it and will report back in a few days.
Actually even if a burgler is unarmed as long as you believe they where a credible threat and didnt act with grossly disproportionate force
(stabbing them while they unconscious setting traps or chasing them up the street and killing them etc)
that's still self defence, you can use disproportionate force and you don't have to wait until you're attacked you just can't take the piss, we also have no duty to retreat in the home which some US states had until recently.
In the UK a killing will be investigated to determine if its actually self defence case, the example you give is the reason incase you invite your mate round and claim hes a burgler.
Example The first link the guy was arrested(even the cops said its basically a formality) released the next morning on bail (which we don't have to pay for unlike the US) and then cleared after giving evidence by video link at an inquest.
Heres and example of someone actually being jailed for manslaughter after killing an intruder
Judge Barker told Hastings he had repeatedly stabbed Mr Williams in the back, the majority of the attack taking place outside the house when the possibility of danger was over.
Even the daily mail doesn't like fox hunting. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dailymail.online&hl=en_GB&gl=GB
