Dice Bag isn't pretty, but it rolls dice, has limited permissions, and will handle Fudge Dice, exploding dice, dropping dice, etc.
So far my opinion is mild. Your app is very difficult to use compared to other apps, though I think it has potential to be useful. The biggest thing I would change is to show the result of each die before adding the numbers together. For example, if I rolled two 6's and a 1, the total of course is 13, but I suggest displaying it as "6, 6, 1 = 13" This change would make it easier to see the number of Aces for Savage Worlds, and would also make it useful for some other games, such as Shadowrun. Secondly, I think it would be much more intuitive to make exploding dice a check box option rather than a function, but honestly I haven't really learned how to use your menus yet. Once I get used to it, your method could be better? I've also not figured out how to use the probability function yet. Like, I can't actually find it.
On the upside, I like the appearance of your app more than most I've seen on Android. I normally use Dice Bag and find it to be kinda ugly. And its buttons are too small. Adding the help menu was also a good call. I haven't read all of it yet, but it has been kinda necessary.
I have a game coming up this weekend (maybe) and I'll play with your app some more then.
I've been using Dice Bag for a while... it's pretty nice, and free, and no ads, and supports lots of wacky dice combinations and rolling rules (you can have 1d15, exploding + 2d2, if you want, or dice pools with target numbers, for example).
I used the Dice Bag app on my Galaxy S3. It's free with an optional donation and works fairly well with features like roll N dice, drop lowest etc.
It doesn't track characters, though - it's just a dice roller. You can, however, configure custom rolls into it like 1D20+2, 2D6+1D4, 4D6 and drop lowest etc. You could use this feature to keep half a dozen common attack or skills rolls for characters.
Having said that, most of the time I prefer physical dice.
One thing I did to eliminate dice cheating is have my players use a dice app like this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droidhut.dicebag They just needed to have their app approved to ensure that it was truly randomized. I know some people prefer real dice but this makes cheating a little more difficult.
