I really like the format of this phone thing. It's just the wiki, but being able to read one or two while I'm sitting somewhere waiting on my bf is nice and the drop-down format is really nice too. (It took me a minute to find the main page for Inquisition codex entries, but once I got there it had the same drop-downs from the other codex pages I'd read.)
Depends on how interested you are in digging into the lore I guess? The stories and songs and notes and things tend to be interesting. The creatures/npcs are a little more hit-and-miss.
I discovered an android Dragon Age Wiki thing on my phone a while back that was much, much more convenient for reading them than the browser-based version. That was when I really started obsessively reading every one. If I had to do it in-game I'd never have bothered.
The wiki is a wonderful resource. Within the wiki, I'd suggest starting with the codex pages. (The wiki actually has an app if you're into such things. I love it. Super convenient.)
If you want to/can invest a little money, the World of Thedas books are excellent primers for the setting. The first one is basic concepts and settings and the second one is more about the characters from the games.
> makes me feel i'm missing something
lol This entire franchise makes me feel that way. I know there's more going on than they've revealed.
Castle dlc... Warden's keep? Oh, man, THAT ONE had some neat lore bits in it. Though, I guess my biases are showing here. I find elves pretty boring but dwarves and darkspawn really cool. And this codex entry and this conversation were really interesting to me.
And yeah, if you're going to try to do the wiki on your phone, the app is formatted much better than the webpage. It even does spoilers!
