Redcross has an app which is not available in my country. Looked utterly stupid that such a vital/useful app actually has region based availability.
While this in no way replaces a real first aid course, I want to suggest the Android App First aid by British Red Cross, even tho it's obviously incomplete and doesn't really prepare you for the worst, it has a simple learning tab with animations and videos.
After some searching, the same stuff is also on the webpage of the red cross
The British Red Cross version for anyone wanting that.
And there's also the St John Ambulance version
Both of the above are also excellent.
Not quite the same, but the Red Cross do an app that's handy if your first aid trained-but-rusty or just not-trained but want something to read and follow if you come across someone having a problem:
For those who are worried about ending up in a similar situation and not knowing what to do, go download the First aid by British Red Cross app it's cover loads of different medical issues and how to treat them. Oddly enough it doesn't cover dislocations (not sure why) but does cover broken bones, asthma attacks, burns, heavy bleeding etc etc.
