Our first app, Forward, a port forwarding utility was completely open source, we are fully behind community contribution and intend to make several more open source apps in the future!
For Somnio though we're aiming to make it cross-platform so we're not open sourcing anything just yet but we could well do down the line :D
Use Fwd. Works for me. You can't open a port less than 1000 though. It's Android's limitation. What's your use case? I use it for my Xbox & opening port less than 1000 is good but not necessary.
I'm trying to get multiplayer games (Splatoon in particular) to work through my mobile hotspot. I have a NAT type F yet according to this thread posted 4 months ago, a public IP should be all that's necessary for it to work, which I have. However I suspect port forwarding is still necessary but the only app I've found which does port forwarding without needing a rooted phone doesn't allow to specify a range of ports which is necessary since the switch apparently takes a random port from a certain range.
I've spent a considerable amount of time googling this with no real progress so I'd like if someone with a bit more networking experience point me in the right direction. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: Scratch that, I'm an idiot and the IP I thought was public actually wasn't. Guess there's nothing I can do but try and negotiate with my provider again...
Hi everyone, we've just released version 1.4 of our app, Fwd, adding the ability to enable or disable individual rules, a built in IP Status Checker and more! :)
Fwd: the port forwarding app lets you use your Android device to forward ports over a tethered connection, perfect for hosting servers or opening your NAT type for gaming. This app allows you to use your Android device as a gateway to a webserver, media server or game server (just to name a few).

I'm not sure if it is pretty much exclusively reliant on the Google Play Store here!](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.elixsr.portforwarder).
You need an app to do it. e.g.

(i haven't tried it myself but it looks like this would work)
